Excel file on desktop

I cant delete it and finder doesnt see it on my desktop or when i search. I went to delete it through terminal. terminal is gone. somehow it deleted my utilities. i cant boot to safe mode. the file disapeared from my desktop after a restart. its name was CB84000. the file is gone but now the graphics are messed up and my computer is just acting so slow and behaving odd. when switching between desktops the pixels are messed up and all animations run jagged instead of smooth. Is this some crazy amped up virus?

Apparently a reboot fixes it, as per Linc Davis' tip in this thread:

If you use the FM-TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP with enabling exception, system will say clearly 'Excel file & cannot be processed'
    You might tried without exception.

    Hi All,
Your expertise needed to overcome issue of opening excel file generated and send as attachment on smartphone.
Tried program 'BCS_EXAMPLE_7' (Sending and Excel attachment) - but Excel file not opened on smartphone. (Giving error   Can't Open Excel doesn't recognize the file format 'ExcelfileName')
If we open excel file on desktop / laptop there is no problem for opening the file.

I have two excel files I cannot open or delete from my desktop.  One is titled 6ACAD200 and the other file is titled 8D73A700.  How can I get these off of my computer?

From the names I'd guess they are temporary files. If excel is running, quit and try again. If they still won't move or delete reboot. If they still won't move or delete...kill a chicken at midnight under an oak tree?

  • Reading a desktop excel file

    Hi all,
We have an issue in our production environment. There is an abap program that opens an excel file (located at user's desktop) and insert the information from it into a z table. It works fine, but on 3 new production servers it does not work (in other old ones it continue working). Basis team (as they always do) says that the configuration is the same on all those servers - I think they are wrong.
Actually I didn't debug it at those new production servers to see exactly what is the matter (to pass through all the bureaucracy process I will spend two days until get it).
As the program and the scenario are very simple I think that someone else problably have already found something like it. Some of you have a tip about it?
    regards.
    roberti

    Hi,
debugging on production server I found that the file is been opened and the data is been read. The problem is in a simple conversion from "0009" to hexadecimal and again to char. In one server (now I know that is HP-UX), this results in "####" string. In another server (Linux), the result is "\_###\_", replacing the "_" with an unrecognized char in the debugger. Some of you have already saw something like this?
    thanks!

  • Can't open Excel files saved to desktop, get popup "There was a problem sending command to the program".

Whenever I save an MS Excel file to my desktop, it creates an icon on the screen. But when I try to open it, I get a popup that says "There was a problem sending the command to the program."
This happens with all Excel files - but MS Word and other files work fine.
    Thanks for your help.

Yes, I saw that earlier but it seems to be a temporary fix. I had the same issue return 2 weeks ago, then again yesterday. Each time, I've tried this solution which works but only to see it return at some time in the near future.
Coincidently, I have a similar issue occur on my iPhone 4S w/ iOS 6. There, my keyboard shortcuts won't work in forms unless I tick off Data and Documents iCloud setting, power down the phone, then turn it back on. But like this, it only seems to work for a temporary time and the problem resurfaces in a few days.

Is this malware?  How can I get rid of it?

    Hello Jeff,
Thanks very much for your reply.  I looked over the article you mentioned, but I have tried all of these methods, but only get the response "The item “29394D00” can’t be moved to the Trash because it can’t be deleted."  Similarly, I cannot Get Info on the file.  This is why I'm so concerned, it just appeared on my desktop, but I cannot touch it, or open it or delete it...
If you have any more tricks up your sleeve, I'd love to hear about them...

  • Weird Excel File appearing on my desktop

Hey guys, twice now this week an excel file appears on my desktop.
This is what it looks like:
It won't open in MS Excel.
When I tried to trash it, I get the following message:
What is this? And how do I get rid of it?
    Thanks.

It's an Excel temporary file, it appears while a file is open but ot saved, it should not be on the desktop, and it should delete when the actual file is saved, or Exce is quit.
Restarting will allow you to delete it.

  • Download excel file template on desktop

    Hi all,
I am working on a requirement in which I am creating an excel file template on the user's system on the click of a pushbutton. The path of the file has to be given by user in an input/output field provided.
Now the user can enter this path manually or through F4 help. I want to put a check on this path such that it should exist in the user's system.
    I am using MS_EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT

    How to check that?

  • Error reading zip file containing an excel file

    Hi all,
Using servlets I am able to zip an excel file using java.util.zip package. The excel file is created using POI API.
While I save and extract the zip file on my machine and then open the file in MS Excel. Excel pops a message saying "MS Office Excel has encountered a problem and need to close" and it gives me an option to "Recover my work and restart MS Office Excel". I select the option and then MS Excel does a document recovery and I am able to view my data. I get an excel repair log file saying as follows

    Jdcunha,
I am new to the field but encountered the same problem and recently found a solution. Hope this helps.
For my project I wanted to create individual Excel 2003 workbooks for each file I created. Excel would give me the same error it gave you when I used the same HSSFWorkbook object. I tried creating a new Workbook object each time, but ran into the same issue.
I ended up fixing the error by creating a new instance of my write-to-excel class each time I wanted to create a new workbook, instead of just recreating a new HSSFWorkbook object. It works perfectly and the Excel errors don't show. It may also be important to note I used OutputStream, I did not try it with printwriter.

  • Cannot delete file off desktop

I have, excel files on my desktop (labled with numbers and letters) that cannot be moved, deleted or even opened.  I have no idea what they are.  How do I get rid of them??

In an open Finder window, click "Application," select"Utilities," choose "Terminal" and double-click the "Terminal" application to launch it.
Type "sudo rm –f " (with a space after the f and not including the quotes) to delete a file.
Drag and drop the files you wish to delete onto the open Terminal window. The files you drop on the Terminal window will be deleted. You can drag and drop multiple files and folders onto the Terminal window.
Note using this u cant undo the action.
