Exception During Testing WebDynpro Application in Developer Studio

Hi,
I am trying to test webdynpro application in developer studio as they have mentioned in the url -http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c1/c6213e225f9a0be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
1)During Recording i am getting successful result as follows

The Server is ready to accept Xml files from the Web Dynpro Runtime on Port 12000
-->Client Connected....
XML file received from runtime
The Server is closed and it will not accept any more Xml documents from the Web Dynpro Runtime.
The script has been stored on the local file system.
2)But when i am trying to reply the script generated by recording then i am getting
following error in console
->Contacting XML Client on Server to get initial XML document.
ERROR: Contacted the Xml client on the J2EE Server, but did not receive an Xml document from it.
And in log viewer i am getting following error

Is your engine functioning properly.I mean go to http://localhost:port/index.html then chech out the webdynpro links and other links available on this page .I am suggesting this so that we can check if sap.com/tcwddispwda
is working fine.Then we can look into the speacific application you are working on

Hi Venkatesh,
Before you can start recording any webdynpro application make sure that the below settings are done in the ecatt system and the target system , for further information refer ecatt documentation.
Create User ECATT_HTTP in the eCATT System
The administrator in the eCATT system must create a user called ECATT_HTTP(with a password). The user requires no special authorization but must be a system user (in transaction SU01, display the user and choose the Logon data tab. Under User Type, select System).
Activate the Service ecatt_recorder in the eCATT System
       1.      In the eCATT System, start transaction SICF and navigate to the service ecatt_recorder.
       2.      Double-click on ecatt_recorder.
       3.      On the Logon Data tab, enter the user ECATT_HTTPand the password.
       4.      Choose Save.
       5.      Select ecatt_recorder and choose Service/Virtual Host -> Activate.
Activate the Service ecattping in the Target Systems
Java System
       1.      In the Visual Administrator, choose Server ->Services -> Deploy.
       2.      On the Runtime tab, select Application.
       3.      Select ecattping.
       4.      Choose Start Application.
ABAP System
       1.      In the target system, start transaction SICF and navigate to the service ecattping.
       2.      Select ecattping and choose Service/Virtual Host -> Activate.

Error during installation SAP SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

Hello,
Can somebody help installing SAP SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio?
I get the message:
SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 2.0.0. Setup Wizard not Completed
The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 2.0.0 Setup has not successfully installed all selected components on your computer, either because a component could not be installed or the process has been aborted.
Click Finish to exit the wizard.

     c:\documents and settings\all users\documenten\sap\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.jdt.launching\vmconfiguration.xml

It looks like a Windows XP problem, because manually I can't copy or create a file in de directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documenten
So the following directory doesn't exits:
c:\documents and settings\all users\documenten\sap\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.jdt.launching\
It's weird that I don't have access to the "Documenten" directory (this is the dutch Shared-documents-directory) , because I never changed it.
When I right-click the directory "Documenten", and I go to Properties, then I don't see a tab setting access groups.
How can I get access again to the "Documenten"-directory?

     There is a NW-DS version on the NW4 test drive DVD given out at TechED which I believe was also posted on the ftp.sap.com before TechEd '04 for CeBit 2004. I personally would like to put my vote out there for getting preview versions to the hands of admins to install and kick the tires before we try to convince management to buyin to purchase a product. Another way SAP reduces TCO?

Unable to test WebDynpro Application

Hi,
I am learning WebDynPro Application development by installing SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Demo System from SDN.
I am able to view the Views as Preview in SE80 Layout TabPage and they work fine. But an activated WDA wont show up on my browser. I seem to be getting a set of errors that take turns, such as "Die URL enthält keine vollständige Domainangabe (sree statt sree.). "
Occasionally, a logon page is opened in the browser but i dont know what username/password to input. No matter what i input it wont work.
During installation I did not specify FQDN since I do not know what it is and since mine is a desktop installation.
I am new to WDA. Could someone help me with a detailed instruction to help solve the problem.
I have carried out the following:
OS: Win XP; Web Browser: IE 6
MS Loop Back Adapter Installed as instructed.
Java Runtime Engine 1.4.2 installed as instructed in installation.
Host name set up in : e:WINDOWSsystem32driversetchosts as 192.168.0.2 NSP
The above IP is connected to home wireless Router network, and internet connection is working fine
Installation of Netweaver 7.1 Demo system carried out with no errors.So did not carry out any post installation steps but able to work with the demosystem alright.
SICF activation of services carried out as per the help link Active Services in SICF
For example, I am trying to run demo_flash_flight application and its ICF is seen as active as shown in GO TO > HTTP Service Maintenance
One of the many different errors that come up are :
The URL http://sree:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/demo_flash_flight was not called due to an error
The following error text was processed in the system NSP : Die URL enthält keine vollständige Domainangabe (sree statt sree.).
The error occurred on the application server sree_NSP_00 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
Guess the link has to be https instead of http. How to switch this to HTTPS.
Tried setting up user name/password in the WDA service was not successful.

Thanks for the suggestion. It works. )
But couple of questions.
1)It takes a long time to load.
2) Everytime, i have to manually change the url from hostname to <localhost>:8000.
3)Also what is the default username / password for SAP WAS. Is it right to assume, each time i start the instance, the WAS is also started? is there a way i can tune it so that the browser loads happen fast.
The above questions are not show stoppers. I am able to work with the programs. Thanks for the suggestion. Going by the SDN posts, there are many who have had this problem. Your suggestion is definitely a helper.

Could not deploy application with Developer Studio 7.0.0

Hi,
I ran into a problem while deploying any of my applications (Web Dynpro, J2EE, Dictionary) to any of my remote servers with NetWeaver Developer Studio version 7.0.0.
Problem:
Deployment exception: Server [Host] did not accept login request as admin on port [Port]. Details: ERROR: Could not establish connection to server [Host] at port [Port]: Connection timed out: connect...
Prior to installing version 7.0.0, I used the version 2.0.9. Everything worked fine then. The Message Server Host and Port on the ver 7.0.0 were configured exactly the same as ver 2.0.9. System settings (Proxy, Firewall) have never been changed.
Anyone has worked on version 7.0.0 and experienced the similar problem?

How to transport the webdynpro applications from development production

Hi Experts,
We are implementing the first time NWDI for development.
As per my knowledge . There will only NWDI available for the whole landscape to manage and track the information.
NWDI will only one for the whole landscape?
How do we need to transport the ;build application from the dev sytem to production through NWDI.?
How the transport life cycle will be managed with NWDI and with out using NWDI?
As of my knowledge . we need to specify the production or testing mechine information in the NWDI to transport the build file from deve to -> testing to -> production.
Because my clients not allowing to specify the the production system information in nwdi to transport from dev to prodution using nwdi?
what is the other solution available?
By giving the production information in NWDI will give any problems futher?(like security).

NWDI is Simply used to manage life cycle.
A developer will develope application. that time he needs to create an activity.
1. when activity is checked in & activated -> code is sent to DTR in development space, and CBS builds that code and its .sda or .ear file is deplopyed on development server.
2. same when you release it -> code is sent to DTR in Consolidation space and CBS builds and deploy it on consolidation server.
3. after that you can assemble you whole development in single file i.e. .sca file, and its get deployed on test server.
simple..
and if your client dont want to specify production system in NWDI., then when you assemble an .SCA file of your development, just copy it from CMS folder of your NWDI installed drive. and send it to your client..
he will externally deploy it on production

I am new to SAP PI. Currently i am working on PI's XSLT Mapping using Stylusstudio.
I got error *Transformer Configuration Exception occurred when loading XSLT <name>.xsl; details: Could not compile stylesheet*.
I tried test by selecting SAP XML TOOLKIT too, then i am facing
*com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.NestedSAXParseException: Fatal Error: com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: Prefix 'a' is not mapped to a namespace (:main:, row:4, col:15)(:main:, row=4, col=15) -> com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.ParserException: XMLParser: Prefix 'a' is not mapped to a namespace (:main:, row:4, col:15)*.

Simply your XSLT file is not a well-formed XML. Check your syntax. You could also use the XML Tools plugin to Notepad++ to help you determine where the syntax error is precisely.
Moreover, this error "Prefix 'a' is not mapped to a namespace" might mean that you are using a tag: <a:something>, but "a" is not properly declared as a namespace, for instance like: xmlns:a="something.sap.com".

Java exception during start of application sharing

Hello everbody,
If I push the button to start sharing an application I get the error below in EP 6.0 SP14. For me it seems that class
com.sap.ip.collaboration.asyncui.impl.taskui.rendering.uicommand.UITaskStatusGroupCommand does not exist, but package com.sap.netweaver.coll.appl.ui.async seems to be deployed correctly. Is this the right package? Do you have any other hint for me to solve this problem?

Hi,
It is obvious from the exception that the UITaskStatusGroupCommand is somehow not being found.
In order to confirm that,can you please Go to the following path in the Portal,
System Administration->Support->Portal RunTime->Browse Deployement
Here navigate to ROOT/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps and look for the jar file (where the class you have specified exists) in the lib folders of any of the components or alternatively use a jar class finder.
If indeed the class does not exist,then you would have to implement in a different manner.

So I have been in hospital and rehablitation hospital for about six weeks and another two weeks at home, trying to get on the feet again.
When I returned, I saw the point-rewarding system on SDN, so in the first week, I was completely blocked by awarding you points for every tip in the past
The WebDynpro project now has come more or less to an end, so at the moment I'm personally back on EP topics.

WebDynpro Application as callable object in GP?

Hello,
I have created a WebDynpro application in NetWeaver Studio.I have to create a callable object of this application in GP.
This application is available in GP.I create a callable object of it, with an action, block process for this single object.(Since i cant test this callable object).
Once i generate url and acess it, it generates an error in browser saying:
"The page builder required to display this application UI inside the portal environment is not available".

why does it say only administrator can deploy? I am uing login which has admin rights.
2. is there any other way to deploy ear file? using some SDM or other way? How?

I tried using SDM, same error message: only adminsitrators have rights to perform this action.
I think, I am not able to access J2EE engine.
How to get J2EE engine access?

Deployment in about 30 seconds, that's not uncommon.
It depends on your project size and network band width.
Did the same project deploy faster in the past?
Furthermore I don't wee warnings, just info statements.

I had installed SAP in my system.But when I am testing webdynpro application I am getting the belwo error. Please let me knwo what setting I need to do to avoid this error.

In Web Dynpro ABAP it is imperative that a client browser with a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) has access to the AS-ABAP. For this reason the full URL must be assigned to a Web Dynpro ABAP application when it is called. The URL must not be shortened (for instance, no domain specification).

I have two basic questions with respect to an ABAP WebDynpro application :
a) If an ABAP WebDynpro application has been developed, how could it be made available to the end user?
b) Can an ABAP WebDynpro application be developed in ECC or is it only applicable for version 4.6c?

Answer - By providing direct link of the WD application created in SE80, creating iView for webdynpro abap application in the portal environment and NWBC environment
b) Can an ABAP WebDynpro application be developed in ECC or is it only applicable for version 4.6c?
Answer - Yes it can be developed in ECC. Webdynpro ABAP is introduced in NW 2004s (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or ECC 6.0)
