However when I try to run the simpFML32 example, I get the following error in

This indicates that there was a problem communicating with the server: java.lang

Solved the issue.
I appended the MyString entry to the end of my list and modified the field number
from 257 to follow my sequence. I guess the application is looking for that specific
number.
I modified the field table to replace the value for MyString to 257 and it worked
fine.
Thanx
Raju

How to run Acceleraterometer sample app AppX ?
Hello:
I got a sample code for using Accelerometer APIs from MS web site. I'm interested in the Windows version (not the phone version). I have rebuilt it but not sure which exe to run or how to run it. I double-clicked "AccelerometerCS.Windows.exe"
but got prompt saying this app must be run within an app container... What does that mean ?
Thanks in advance
PolarisWhich same you have? you can run it directly from windows. Otherwise when you have the appx you need to use the powershell that is included. You can also do this manually by using the commandlet add-appxpackage
to get the appx file you first need to create the package from visual studio

What other server is needed to run cairngorm sample app?
Hi,
After following thru' and fixing with all the earlier errors as advised, am trying to run the insync-basic app and getting this error now:
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8400
and FlashBuilder seems to hang and timeout.
Do I need to run some other service ?
(The web server is already running on localhost and other Flex apps are working)
Plz advise ASAP,
GaryHi Gary, very quick here (it is christmas in the end ) yes you need to follow Christophe Conraets blog for the setup on the server. If you follow the Cairngorm 3 tutorials via the documents in the guidelines section, it should point you towards it. If not, would you mind letting us know where our documentation exactly is misleading or unclear?

Hello!
I have downloaded the ODM samples from OTN, but have problems running the Java programs.
It is required to add the following libraries to the classpath:
%ORACLE_HOME%\rdbms\jlib\jdm.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\rdbms\jlib\ojdm_api.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\rdbms\jlib\xdb.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\oc4j\j2ee\home\lib\connector.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\orai18n.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib\orai18n-mapping.jar
%ORACLE_HOME%\lib\xmlparserv2.jar
But some of these libraries don't exist in my database installation. Am I missing another patch or...?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
ZrinkaI have located and solved the problem. Closing the thread.

Trouble running "Universal Windows app that consumes data from the Azure Marketplace" sample
I am trying to run the sample titled "Universal Windows app that consumes data from the Azure Marketplace". I am not sure how to enter the credentials for the Zillow APIs. I obtained a key from Zillow, but when I enter it per the instructions
in the sample, I still get an unauthorized (401) error.
The instructions say Insert that key into the SampleDataSource file of your project in place of the string "Your account key goes here".
So I replaced my key in this line of code:
request.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("<Your account key goes here>",
"<Your account key goes here>");
Am I missing something else?Hi isgimaryann,
I would suggest you ask question at:
https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Universal-app-that-d7406c5b/view/Discussions#content to see if the owner of the sample will give you some suggestions.

Deploying ADF Mobile Browser Sample App in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3
Hi,
I had problem in deploying the sample app for ADF Mobile Browser in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.
I had tried every solution such as replacing web.xml for the Sample App with web.xml created in JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.
I could not find the Jar file for the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.bi.facelets.graph.RichSeriesSetHandler in the web also.
Please help to solve this problem as I had tried for many days.
Thank you very much! =)

Edited by: 975879 on Dec 9, 2012 10:56 PMHi Frank,
Thanks for the fast response.
Based on your advice, I had try to comment out all usage of graph in jsp, web.xml, and data binding file.
But even after perform these, I still facing the same problem.
For your information, RichSeriesSetHandler does not exist in the oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.bi.facelets.
I suspecting RichSeriesSetHandler is configured in the app and it occur this error as it could not find the class.
I had try to search this usage of this class in the app but there is no results found. -
EXC_BAD_ACCESS with sdkv5 on device - with all sample apps!
Hi all,
I just upgraded to the new v5 SDK/OS and everything I compile gives me the EXCBADACCESS error when run on the device(everything works fine in the simulator.) Applications generally get to the point where they display minimal UI and then crap out with the access. This includes all the SDK v5 updated Apple iPhone sample apps. I've reinstalled and zeroed out all the settings on the phone, with the same results. I don't think it's related at all to my cert. Any ideas?
ThanksI really don't see it as that complex or bizarre of a process, but given then I'm having the same problems as everyone else...possibly it is.
The process itself isn't that complicated. Create a certificate request, give the contents of that to Apple to get a certificate, add the two certs to your keychain, register your device with Apple, create and enable a provisioning profile on your device in the Organizer, and then make sure that your applications are being signed with codesign correctly. I've redone each of those steps except the first two, since that's not possible without Apple's intervention to remove the certificate, as well as reinstalled the SDK and the firmware multiple times and over both Beta 4 and Beta 5 now. I even checked to make sure that the application binary is in fact signed, and it is.
Output of `codesign -d -vvv AppName.app/AppName`:
http://pastebin.com/m1e34e012
To me, that says its signed correctly. The provisioning profile appears to be working correctly (checking through Settings > General > Profile on the device shows the correct profile name and "Verified"). So I don't know what's wrong. I've contacted (or attempted to contact) DTS, but I'm sure we all know how prompt they are at getting back to you. -
FDS and Tomcat : Flex Sample App - Contact Manager
http://localhost:8080/samples/dataservice/contact/contactmgr.mxml
When loading, I see the contact list load with Randy Carter
as the default.
1. Click on New
2. Fill in my First and Last Name
I get the following error messages:
Error
Unable to access UserTransaction in DataService.
I followed these directions for Tomcat for installing JOTM
and editing the conf/server.xml for Tomcat
http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex:Install_Instructions
Please advise on how I can get this sample app to be able to
add new Contact details.If you're getting the error message - "Unable to access
UserTransaction in DataService", then your transaction services is
not set up correctly. There is not enough detail in your message to
diagnosis what the issue is but this is what I would recommend and
the configuration that works for me.
(a) During development, get in the habit of running the
server in debug mode and check for errors in the server console and
logs frequently, especially when you encounter errors on the
client.
For FDS, you'll want to set debug level logging in
enterprise-services.xml. Restart the server after making changes.
(b) Double-check that JOTM is configured correctly.
These are the steps I used to get Flex running with Tomcat
5.5.17 and JOTM 2.0.10 - the latest versions.
With Tomcat, there are several different ways of configuring
the server so this is not the only way of doing things. The
directions under 'Configuring Tomcat' seems to have the most
details for all versions of Tomcat -
http://static.raibledesigns.com/downloads/howto-tomcat-jotm.html
i. drop the JOTM jars into <tomcat>/common/lib
ii. add the following line to my application configuration
file <tomcat>/conf/Catalina/localhost/samples.xml
<Context
docBase="c:/dev/flex/enterprise/apps/j2ee/samples"
privileged="true" antiResourceLocking="false"
antiJARLocking="false">
<Transaction
factory="org.objectweb.jotm.UserTransactionFactory"
jotm.timeout="60"/>
</Context>
iii. restart the server for good measure, check the logs
localhost-xxxx.log and catalina-xxx.log to be sure that everything
started correctly.
(c) Verify that transactions are working correctly with this
test JSP page. Just drop the jsp page into your web application and
access from the browser. If you see an exception, go back to the
JOTM setup. If you see, 'success'. Then proceed with the contact
manager example.
<%@ page import="javax.naming.*,javax.transaction.*" %>
<%
Context ctx = new InitialContext();
UserTransaction tx =
(UserTransaction)ctx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
tx.begin();
tx.commit();
%>
success!
(d) Run the contact manager sample and try to update a
contact. If you see "Unable to access UserTransaction in
DataService", then check the server console and server logs for
errors and/or exceptions.

I am trying to run the OTN sample app that runs with the HR schema.
As with my small entity beans, I am getting an error doing a context lookup when trying to run the application.
Here is the error message, please help:
javax.naming.NamingException: Lookup error: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect; nested exception is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
java.lang.Object com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIContext.lookup(java.lang.String)
RMIContext.java:134
java.lang.Object javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup(java.lang.String)
InitialContext.java:350
void Samplehr.hrAppClient.main(java.lang.String[])
hrAppClient.java:18
Thank you.In addition, I also have this error msg:
(No previous deployment found)... Error compiling C:\program files\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\j2ee13sample\bustier\classes: No DataSource found at jdbc/hrDS
but I did create an hrDS Database connection in Jdeveloper that exists in the data-sources.xml file.
Please advise. -
How do I run multiple java apps in one JVM to reduce memory use?
Hi all,
I saw an article either on the web or in a magazine not too long ago about how to "detect" if the app is already running, and if so, it hands off the new instance to the already running JVM, which then creates a thread to run the Java app in. As it turns out, my app will be used in an ASP environment, through Citrix. We may have as many as 50 to 100 users running the same app, each with their own unique user ID, but all using the same one server to run it on. Each instance eats up 25MB of memory right now. So the question is if anybody knows of a URL or an app like this that can handle the process of running the same (or even different Java) apps in one JVM as separate threads, instead of requring several instances of the JVM to run? I know this article presented a fully working example, and I believe I know enough to do it but I wanted ot use the article as a reference to make sure it is done right. I know that each app basically would use the same one "launcher" program that would on first launch "listen" to a port, as well as send a message through the port to see if an existing launcher was running. If it does, it hands off the Java app to be run to the existing luancher application and shuts down the 2nd launching app. By using this method, the JVM eats up its normal memory, but each Java app only consumes its necessary memory as well and doesn't use up more JVM instance memory.
Thanks.<pre>
