Exception when trying to run an Web Application that uses a Web service

Hello All,
I get an exception when trying to run an Web Application that uses a Web service. The web application is a WebDynpro Application.(an application similar to the one "Using an Email Web Service in Web Dynpro" in the tutorial section of Web Dynpro but using a different web service)
The exception is
<b>Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (404) Not Found.</b>
Could anyone give me an idea on what might be the problem ?

Like you said it was the problem with url.
The webservice I used is actually running on the local machine (where the NetWeaver developer studio is installed); so in the url I had specified localhost. But I deployed the application on another server(SAP J2EE Engine). That is why it didn't work. On changing the url as required, the application is working fine.

Help! Getting "Connection error Check connection" when trying to enable HP Web Services on M1536DNF

Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to enable HP Web Services on HP LaserJet Pro M1536DNF model? Everything works fine and shows it's connected to the network but I cannot enable HP Web Services. It says "Connection error Check connection" I've tried restarting everything; network, printer, computer. I've also updated firmware to latest version as well.

Welcome to the HP Support forums. I understand that you are getting an unable to connect message when trying to enable the web services for your Laserjet CP1025nw printer.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The instructions can be found in the document Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. There is a Windows section and a Mac section. In the Windows section you will find the instructions in the sub-section titled “Solution three: Assign the printer a static IP address”. For Mac the applicable sub-section is titled “Solution two: Assign the printer a static IP address”. When entering the information for the Manual Preferred DNS server please use 8.8.8.8 and for the Alternate Preferred DNS server please use 8.8.4.4. These are Google’s DNS servers.
After setting the manual IP address and manual DNS servers, you should have no problems enabling the web services.

Error 403 when trying to run a web application

I am trying to run a web application(J2EE and velocity) that works perfectly fine on Tomcat but doesn't work on weblogic. I was initially getting a nullpointer error but I got rid of it when I removed xercesImpl.jar from my application's library folder and repackaged the war file. However, when I try to run the application now, I get the following error:-
*Error 403--Forbidden
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.4 403 Forbidden
The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.*
The application has been deployed successfully but I am unable to run it using the link generated in the testing tab. The application. I was wondering if there is any workaround for this error.

The testing link is using, the host:port/contextroot. Note that the URL is per default not accessible and give justly the 403 forbidden error.
When you have an index.jsp (or something similar) in the root of your Web application it will automatically load that one, otherwise
you will get the forbidden message.

SocketTimeoutException when trying to contact a web service

Error when trying to create a web service from a wsdl file using jdeveloper

Hello,
I'm using the latest jdeveloper and jdk 6 update 20 on solaris sparc 10.
When I'm trying to create a web service from a wsdl on the java EE 1.5 platform i get the following error:

You are asking about an issue that was a pain in the nick for me few months ago. The problem is that you won't find mych help here as I figured out that Apex geeks here either did not do much webservices or ended up hating it as i do :) . This is an error that can be due many different reason, let me ask you this:
1- Does your the other system you are trying to call through webservices using HTTPS ?
2- If yes, did you create a valid oracle wallet for that https connection ?
3- Make sure you are using the correct URL ( am sure you do, just double check )
4- If using a proxy, then you have to define that in the web service reference creation page

ORA-06502 when trying to create a web service reference

Hi,
I want to create a reference to mail a report from BI Publisher.
Apparently the e-mail option is no longer available in the v2 webservices so I tried to create a web service reference to:
.../xmlpserver/services/PublicReportService?wsdl
I had no problems creating references to the v2 web services however I don't manage to create a reference for this WSDL.
The last step gives me:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error
Thanks for tips or advice.
Other workarounds to email a report are welcome as well. I tried to use the v2 webservices runReport & scheduleReport before but they don't seem to support this.

Okay, so email is available in the v2 webservices I found out. (despite stated in many blogpost it is not)
--- ScheduleService
If you're going to use it to send emails you need to create your webservice manually. Otherwise it will not work as the scheduleReport also can print, fax or save your report to webdav and you will need to remove these elements from you soapenveloppe to get it to work.
This is not possible with the services created using the WSDL wizard.

Like you said it was the problem with url.
The webservice I used is actually running on the local machine (where the NetWeaver developer studio is installed); so in the url I had specified localhost. But I deployed the application on another server(SAP J2EE Engine). That is why it didn't work. On changing the url as required, the application is working fine.

I am just trying to configure my machine for Endeca Guided Search. I am the steps given in Oracle Endeca Guided Search Getting Started guide. The section i am referring to is :- "Configuring the sample application on a single development server".
1. I have run the deployment template deploy script - No error
2. Ran initialize_services script from the Endeca Deployment Template - No Error
3. To run a baseline update script on the Data Processing (ITL) server:
a. Ran load_baseline_test_data.bat - No Error
b. Ran baseline_update.bat - Getting the below exception (logs):

Checked the value of com.endeca.mdexRoot in eac.properties. It's C:\\Users\\Aditya\\Endeca\\MDEX\\6.2.2 , which is correct.
Not sure what else to check now. Because of the above exceptions, not able to verify the installation with the JSP reference application. Get the below exception when try to test using host: localhost and port:15000:

Open command prompt and try executing below command,

Error when trying to Run MTT Mobile Application in MI2.5 SP 17

Hi Experts,
I got the complete sources and war files of MTT 2.0. i generated the war file from NWDS as "Add jsps as compiled classes" and modified the web.xml file.after that i uploaded it is Sap webconsole as JSP runtime environment and iam using the SAP MI 2.5 sp17 Client. after deploying the applicaton iam getting "HTTP 404 not found error".but when iam trying to run it from NWDS the views and controllers are loading but the jsp (compiled) files are not displaying on the screen nad geeting an error "HTTP 404 not found error".
Is anything iam doing wrong here..?

This looks like your installation has a flaw. If it's only your machine, remove JDEV from it and install it again.

HTTP error when trying to access RESTful web service from application

Hi,
We are getting the following error when trying to access a RESTful web service coming from Apex workspace 4.2.1 and Apex listener 2.1:
ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1130 ORA-29024: Certificate validation failure
In the Debug report, besides the above I also see:

We get that error whether we use https or http in the URI pointing to the web service. When I test the Web Service in Workspace RESTful service GUI, I get the data back. When I go build an application with a report calling the RESTful Web Service I get that error. Both the Application and the Workspace RESTful services are on the same Apex environment and even the same workspace.
What is odd is that I can actually put the URL of the web service into a browser and I get the data: (using the demo hr data in sample RESTful services.)

In reviewing the above error, I think we are realizing that we have to have the Weblogic layer SSL cert (actually the CERT from our BigIP load balancer which also does our SSL termination) imported into the Oracle server wallet where Apex is installed. Am I correct?

We resolved our problem. The Apex Administrative Guide made us realize that we had to set up Wallet path in the Instance. This required working with DBAs to follow the Advanced networking guide to get the wallet set up on our server. We then added that path to the Instance configuration. (Manager Instance --> Instance settings). We ran into another other issue related to our implementation of CAS but were able to resolve that, and 'voila' were able to get the sample RESTful service consumed by our application!!
Now to the task of figuring out how to get Basic Auth working between client application and RESTful web service. If anyone has that working, let us know!!
It would be helpful if in the documentation of the Apex 2.x listener or Apex install/configuration there was clear reference to the above steps required for HTTPS access to RESTful web services.

Yes, XleTView does not run on JVM version 1.3, you need a JVM that is 1.4

Like you did but with the right version of the Virtual Machine. I.e by doubleclicking on xletview.jar if you have your system configured to open jars with javaw.exe or using java -jar xletview.jar on the command line

The JDBC jarfile you have is either too new, or too old (less liekely) for you current Java version. Download a newer Java version and try that. If it doesn't work, then download the newer version of the JDBC driver and try it with both of the Java versions (both because if it works with both, then you can continue using whichever one you like).

Internal unkown error when trying to import a web service

I need help to achive the possiblity to select methods from a web service, I get following errors:

Hi!!
I did make a try with http post (see attachment) with the aim to send a soap xml in the http post.
I do get an error when trying to parse the soap message (see message below).
Do you have suggestions for improvement of this VI???
