Exclude Material Master views in IDoc

Hi,
I am using the MATMAS04 IDoc to replicate material master data from one client to another (two clients in the same system). I need to exclude the MRP I-IV views and the Storage Location views - except for these views the data in all other views should be replicated in the target client. Is there a way to just disable the data for these views in the Idoc? I have checked the various segments, but was not able to find any flag/field to disable views selectively.

Hi Ram,
I am not familiar with Idoc type MATMAS04. I guess you are using a later version of R3.
However there is a segment filtering functionality for IDocs which you can use.
As an example , I will use IDoc Type MATMAS03. This idoc type has a segment E1MVKEM which stores the Sales View data for the material. This segment is not a mandatory segment and hence it can be filtered when sending the idoc downstream.
In BD64, for the distribution model, create a filter. The filter should be set to check the contents of Sales Org field. Then set the filter to a value which you are never expecting to find in VKORG field.
What happens is this: A master idoc will be created with all the views ( meaning all the segments ). During the filtering stage, the filters set up in BD64 will be checked. If the Sales Org in the idoc does not match the Sales Org in the Filter, the E1MVKEM segment will be deleted in the idoc.
A similar approach could be used for the MRP views and Storage Location views in your idoc.

Control Material Master Views with IDOC load

Hello all,
I am wondering how best to control which views are available during IDoc processing for Material Master.
For example I just want the Basic Data 1 and Basic Data 2 tabs, I am only populating the relevant data and placing a value of u201CKu201D in the Maintenance Status fields. This seems to work and avoids the warnings I seem to encounter when I neglect to add values for the Maintenance Status fields.
The warning I get at times tell me the IDoc is attempting to extend all available views, then it makes them available once I view my Material with MM03, however because there is no data in them I canu2019t go into the tabs. That is fine because I can go to the Basic data tabs, but I was disappointed to see the other tabs enabled, but inaccessible.
With Direct Input I used to be able to simply indicate which views I want. Now it seems I must request the maintenance views that then translate to actual views.

Yes I have experience in that area, and I fill the PSTAT as well. But you can also run a program (is in IMG > Logistic Gerneral > material master) to regenerate PSTAT after you have loaded all materials.
I use IDOC loading method for SAP system mergers. Sent Material master in legacy system using ALE as IDOC collection to a file, then use this file as source for LSMW, and as IDOC to IDOC mapping is just 1:1 I use use this methd in this case.
When loading from Excel file, I started using BAPI import method a few rollout waves back (but not because there is something difficult with IDOC, just to get used to this method).

Material Master views for every material type

HI Expertis,
I am facing to the big problem. My requirement is to identify the Material Master Views relevent to the each and every Material Type.
As an example, for the material type "FGTR" what should be the required views to create material master?
From the MM01 Txn i found 36 Material types. Also found the standard views in "OMS2" Txn. But in OMS2 txn it gives me almost all the views in material master.
Atlease i hope to categorize the material types which are going to use same material views. So i can ask abaper to develop it.
these are the required Material types : MODE, FGTR, WETT, KMAT, LEER, LGUT, FERT, FOOD, INTR, CONT, IBAU, HERS, NLAG, NOF1, UNBW, HIBE, VERP, FRIP, PIPE, FHMI, ROH, LEIH, HALB, DIEN, ERSA, HAWA

You can ask your abaper to write a small program by using table t134(T134-PSTAT) and T132T .From this tables ,for each material type, you get all views.

Creating Material Master views

Hi Experts,
I am writing a program to upload material master views.
From that program i am getting the file as output and by using RMDATIND program(Direct input program) i am uploading that output file to that program and creates the material when it does not exists and if the material exists it will check the particular view that i want to upload.
In doing this i got one question that, i am checking the field VPSTA in MARA table for the views that are created to that material.
That field contains the values as EDALS.
E for PURCHASING VIEW
D for MRP VIEW
A for WORK SHEDULING VIEW
L for GENERAL PLANT DATA
S for WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT VIEW
I want to know the characters for the other views also.
Can any one give information for that views.

Tax Code in Material Master views

Hi,
I want to know in which view we can find the details of "tax code " for the material in Material master views?.
Also suggest me where else we can find the information of Tax Code for the given material.

Hi,
you cannot get the tax code in material master. In material master we mainatin tax releated information in Foregin trade import and to get that contaol data tab in material master you have to do some config.
After mainatining the data in material master tax code is maintained in FV11 in case of taxinn and in case of taxinj tax releated data is to maintaiin in J1id and different tax code has to be created with the help of FTXP

For accounting view.
If material is FERT or HALB: -
Enter valuation class,
Price control as "S"
Standard price(If you have run costing for FERT & HALB then not enter standard price because at the time of costing run system calculate standard price of product).
For ROH, VERP, ERSA etc...
Enter valuation class,
Enter price control as "V",
Enter moving average price.

Hi,
Follow the path below:
SPRO --> Logistics - General --> Material Master --> Configuring the Material Master
Here you can maintain the Mainscreens, Secondary screens etc..
SPRO --> Logistics - General --> Material Master --> Basic Settings --> Material Types --> Define Attributes of Material Types.
here you can activate the Material Tab Pages with refernce to your Material Type.

Issue: Sending material master using ALE-IDOC.

Hi all,
I am sending the material master data from one server to another.All the fields getting transported along with creator(field ERNAM) of the material.When viewed from WE05 the field is having the same data as original creator of the material in sending system.But when i view data in receiving system for field MARA-ERNAM the field is having the USER NAME giver in RFC-DESTINATION.can anybody guide so that the creator from IDOC is updated in database and not the creator given in RFC
destination.

Hi,
Hope you are using some middleware to transfer the Idoc to other system, check the mapping details from the middleware side whethere the field mapped correclty.

Updation of Material Master Views

Dear All,
I am facing a design problem in creation of Material Master.
A certain user group creates X,Y,Z views in MM01 , MM02 but the other views data which would be of relevance to other users needs to be updated based on certain conditions like Material Type etc.
Eg : PLM user making Basic Data view .
 FI views and Sales View to be created automatically for other users.
The issue is this updation of data in other views which is of two categories :
i) if material type = 'abc'.
 MRP profile = 'fgh'.
ii) if material type = literature.
 then plants = '1111', '2222' , '3333' etc....
Regarding i):-
This data can being updated in a user exit , eg 'MGA00001' called in MM01.
But it doesnot allow to change any other structure other than WMARA where as we need to update data for WMARC, WMBEW, WMVKE etc.
Regarding ii) :-
How can I create material on many plants while the material is under creation in MM01 ?
How can i) and ii) be cracked ?
Pls give solutions asap .

Material Master Views Authorization

Hi All,
I'm trying to restrict some views of the material master for some users. I've read that is possible to limit these views by the maintenance status of the authorizations but itit doesn't work for me. can you help me?
I am using "SAP_ISR_MATERIAL_DISPLAY" role in order to restrict all the views except Warehouse Managment. So, I put the maintenance status of the WM view to display and nothing else with the others. Is it wrong?
Is there any other way to do what I want?

Hi All,
I have made a copy of the role SAP_ISR_MATERIAL_DISPLAY and I have changed some setting in order to hide some views of the Material Master for the user. It has worked finally but doing this the user doesn't have authorization for other Transactions Code of WM like LS24, LT*, etc... So, I guess, I have to merge some roles and/or authorizations or I have to create an own role to pack everything I want for this user. Anyway, this is another issue...

Create Material Master Views in mass-change

Dear All,
We have to add a additional view to the material master of some products.
Is this possible to do as a mass change (ex. MM17) or have we to do it with transaction SCAT/ MASS?

Use
LSMW using standard SAP provided RMDATIND program- check with ABAPer - You can extend all views or you can pick and choose selected views.
or
BDC scripts - If u have only 1/2 views extended use this.
Mass change doesn't help.

e.g if user is ABC, this user whenever display or chnage matetial master he can only view the screen of basic data nad purchasing, and if user XYZ login with MM02 or MM03 he can only view the Basic data, work scheduling and accounting view not the remaning can we control this with customizing, also How we can find alll the authorization obejct releated to material master screen, or related to one transaction.

Field in Material Master views

Hi SAP Experts,
I have the following issues.
1. How can the field "Material grouping" in Work Scheduling View can be made also available in General Plant data / storage 1?
2. In OMSR, there are fields MARC_MAEX, MARC_MKAL,, MARC_NOTE. These field are not assigned to any field selection groups. How can I make them to be available for use? I know how to assign them to FSG. But I could n't find them in Material Master? where these fields are placed in MM?
Need your quick inputs.

Hi,
Those fields were not available in SAP. For reference purpose you can use those fields, but you will not expect the functionality which u r getting in your legacy system. normally e will not be using all the material master fields. You can use any one of the non used field for this purpose.

Material master/Output type IDOC /MATMAS

Hello ,
I want to generate Idoc(MATMAS) whenever a material is created or changed. I could do the same for ME21N/ME22N for PO with PO idoc. Would like to know whether there is output types for material master or anything else so that i can generate Idoc for my senario.

the configurations which we do for material master is below...we don't give any output for material master,becoz its a master data not transactional data..
        For distributing master data like material master, vendor master, customer master we have standard transaction codes that are provided by sap.
Bd10(send material master)
Bd12(send customer master)
Bd14(send vendor master)
Bd30(boms)
The order of Tcodes are:
           Bd54 (creating logical systems)
           Scc4 (assigning logical systems )
           Sm59 (rfc destination)
           We81 ( message type)
           We30 ( idoc type)
           We31 ( segment type)
           We82 (linking message type and idoc type)
           We21 (creating port)
           We20 (partner profiles)
           Bd64 (Distribution model)
           Bd10 (material master)
Ex: material master.
     Message type: matmas.
     Idoc type: matmas05.

Restrict Material Master View

All,
I have a role to view material master data which contains tcodes MM03 / MM04. I would like to prevent the users from viewing Accounting & Costing views.
Using object M_MATE_STA and the appropriate values in the STATM field this has worked correctly for MM03. However, via transaction MM04, change documents can be viewed for accounting and costing despite the restrictions in M_MATE_STA - I would like to prevent this.
Running system trace (ST01) I have found MM04 checks for M_MATE_STA, but never looks at the specific values in the field STATM.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so what possible solutions have you considered?

Please refer to OSS note 482261and follow the steps given it.It is valid upto release 4.6 C only.
Please check the SP level of your system.
If on higher release then see this note 303483.
