Expired Thawte Certificate killed our app

Today we got several calls from customers saying that they cannot install our application. Adobe Air would install just fine but when Air went to install the app.air file an error popped up saying “Sorry, an error has occurred. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.” I tested the install on several computers here and they all gave the same error. All this happened the day after the Code Signing Certificate expired, so I rolled the clock back on the computer to May 18, 2010 and the application installed just fine. So we figure it must be a problem with the certificate expiring so we call the company that issued the certificate to us, Thawte. They explained to us that the program should keep installing just fine if a timestamp was applied at the time of the signing. Thawte said that you cannot timestamp with Adobe AIR and so when the certificate expired so did the ability to install the application, that’s why turning back the clock worked. Thawte said that there is a slight chance that the new certificate we purchased from them will fix all the disks we have already sent out but I doubt it. So is there a way to fix this so all the applications we allready sent out will work or will we have to redistribute with the new certificate in place? Thanks.

1. When we published it from Flex Builder 3 via export release build, I selected the timestamp option on the Digital Signature page
2. I believe I was looking in the wrong place (Console Messages). I went to all messages, and have attached a screenshot of that output.

You may have waited too long....your apps should resurface once everything is completed on the backend. Could be soon or could be as long as a week, I think. Longer if you are outside the US.
Next time, renew 2 ~ 4 weeks ahead of expiration

Renewed Thawte Certificate not shown in Address Book

My old Thawte personal mail certificates expired, and I requested new ones. The ones request via Safari, failed to load in 'My certificates' section of keychain. This is a known bug. I revoked the certificates and re-requested using Firefox.
From Firefox I 'Fetched' and backed up 'my certificates' to a xxx.p12 file in Documents. Then from Keychain I 'Imported' the xxx.p12 file into the login keychain.
Mail now works and generates signed e-mails, but when I click on the signed icon against each of my e-mail addesses in the Address Book it shows the old expired certificates.
I am loathed to delete the expired certificates as it will prevent me from reading my archived mail.
It is only cosmetic, but can anyone suggest a solution.

Within the Keychain app I created an Expired.keychain and dragged the expired 'My Certificates' to it. Answered a few enter password prompts and dragged the certificates back to the login.keychain. It complained of some duplicates, which remained in the Expired.keychain. I then deleted the Expired.keychain.

Reinstall Thawte Certificates

I am having problems with SSL certificates that cannot be validated because Thawte certificates were not valid. During attempts to fix this I have deleted some Thawte certs with the expectation of being able to re-install.
How do I reinstall all of the Thawte Certificates to the latest version?
I have already carried out a reinstall of the App, and a Refresh.

It was affecting several web sites that I visit on a regular basis. I used an SSL checker and the sites were correctly configured.
I then discovered that Thawte Server CA was crossed out in the Keychain Access app, so I deleted and reinstalled with the data-file I downloaded from Thawte’s site as part of the root package.
Then restarted and things appear to be working okay now.
Can someone please confirm the standard Thawte certs settings. I notice it has changed from what I had before and now I only see three for Thawte listed under Authorities: Primary Root CA; CA G2; CA G3, with the following serial numbers
34:4E:D5:57:20:D5:ED:EC:49:F4:2F:CE:37:DB:2B:6D
35:FC:26:5C:D9:84:4F:C9:3D:26:3D:57:9B:AE:D7:56

FaceTime expired device certificate work around

I'm looking for a work around for FaceTime expired device certificate.I have iPad 2nd Gen and an iPod 4th Gen both have IOS 5 that use Google Map. If I upgrade my IOS, Google Maps will be uninstalled. Looking at the Apple forums the only way to fix this is to upgrade my IOS, this is not going to happen. it is stating to look like Android might be a better solution. Any help would be great.
If only Apply and Google could get along.

Expired SSL certificate errors in browser after installing a new Certificat

I recently install a new SSL certificate from Thawte following the same process as the last time in installed. The install seemed to work for a couple days and then i stared getting calls reporting an expired SSL Certificate. I verified that the proper cert was still installed and it was. what actually got the ball rolling again was disabling the listener associated with my secure site and re enabled it. that workd for 2 days and now the website is reporting an expired SSL cert. any clue what is going on?

Here is the output but i noticed that there are three of the same key(sitecert)

SW2 - Different certificates of Host App and Smart Connect. Host App cannot start.

I got my SmartWatch 2 today and installed Smart Connect and SmartWatch 2 app from google play, got the smartwatch to pairing with my phone manual bluetooth connect.
But in the notification bar i getting " Different certificates of Host App and Smart Connect. Host App cannot start." and i can not go in to settings on Smart Connect for the SW2.
Please help, right now i can not use the smartwatch becouse of no apps....

That sounds strange. Have you installed both Smart Connect and SmartWatch 2 from Google Play or did you install them from another source? If installed from Google Play, uninstall (updates) SmartWatch 2 and Smart Connect and then install/update them again from Google Play.

T61P died, 1 long beep - 2 short beeps problem - Do the updates from Lenovo KILL our laptop?

I bought T61P from 2 years ago, everything is ok until yesterday, I turn on my laptop and nothing display on the screen, and with this : 1 long beep - 2 short beeps....
I make some search, and found a lot of people have the same problem, and almost happend from September - 2009 to now.
I asked my self why this problem does not happend in the 1st year of using T61P...and this only happend from September - 2009 to now? DO THE UPDATES FROM LENOVO KILL OUR LAPTOP?
My laptop is out of warranty, and I hate to replace another mainboard.... If I must do it, I will throw my laptop to the Trash, and never buy another Lenovo laptops.

so far it looks like a strict hardware problem, not related to updates. however, some manufacturers try to "cheat" with bios updates - they make fan to run at higher speed lowering the mainboard temp. This does not solve the problem per se, it just makes laptop survive beyond warranty expiration date, so you, dear customer, will have to foot the bill.

What's the best way to get user testing of our app (we're based in the UK)

Hi all.
We've just developed our first app for Palm and would really like to get some feedback from Palm users (our app allows users to take photos and send them as real printed postcards. We'd be very happy to give users free postcards in exchange for feedback).
The problem we have is that Palm users are pretty sparse in the UK. We've found that user testing with non-Palm users becomes handset testing rather than app testing. We have to teach them how to use Palm ("Where's the back button?") and so the testing mainly focuses on the particularities of Palm rather than our app. Plus, we don't benefit from the user being able to compare to other Palm apps.
Any advice on the best way to get feedback from Palm users? Especially as they'll need to download the SDK and install our app using it in order to get it onto their phones.

Yes. Delete the Apps that were not Purchased using Your Apple ID.
But a Restore as New is the way to go.

I have also tried the fixes offered in this forum such as using the "Other" mail in setting up the gmail accounts, and not using the dedicated gmail setting. I also went to google and signed in and enable the additional devices. I had the same problems with the original account I set up for gmail, but it corrected when i went to using the "Other" instead of the Gmail button. I was able to set up the new gmail accounts on my iphone without problem and on my husband's ipad1 for his gmail account. Just the ipad 2 is giving me problems. Again, thanks for any suggestions.

Problem when moving our app to Linux platform

Hi to all,
My app uses Java swings which will work only on windows (platform dependent).
We used Windows LookandFeel and font for labels as Arial, Tahoma... and set the size for each component according to the windows look and feel, while we developed our app.
If we change the look and feel to Metal look and feel, labels will not be displayed fully. (Instead of displaying the label as Observation, it displays Observ...). Everywhere in the view, we were facing this problem if we change the look and fell.
Now we are trying to make our app to be platform independent for which we are working with Linux.
While working with linux, there is no windows look and feel and no font called Tahoma or Arial.
Because no font called Arial or Tahoma exist and there is no windows look and feel, Instead of displaying the label as Experimenting, it is displaying as Experim..... This problem occurs everywhere in my apps.
Also wherever we used Labels in the classes (nearly some 150 class), we specified the font as Tahoma.
Is there any alternative in Java like Macros (Preprocessor) in C, so that wherever we used the word Tahoma, everywhere it will be changed, if i change it in one place.
