Explorer Context Menu Convert Sends Files to the Printer

Right-clicking PSD files and choosing "convert to PDF" sent the files to the printer!!!  I had hoped it would have brought up a dialog to convert the files to PDF...
(I was looking for "combine as PDF" -- I'm not sure what happened to it?)
I'm running Acrobat 11 on Windows 8.1

All that context menu stuff is handled by the registry. The explorer application simply gets its information from there. So Labview can write to a registry key to add itself to handle a file type. This is why you can have multiple applications handle the same type and show up in the context menu.
My point is that after I run LV 8.0, I will see both LV 8.2 and LV8.0 in the context menu (along with a couple of others). However, after I run LV 8.2, the LV8.0 option is removed. I'm guessing that this is related to a program's behavior in checking and setting the registry key to make sure that it is the default handler for the appropriate file types. NI would need to strengthen this code to be sensitive to previous versions of Labview.

  • "Send link..." context menu item does not launch the mail client

This was working in Firefox 12 but with the latest update to Firefox 13.x no mail client is launched (mine is Thunderbird) when context menu item "Send link..." is clicked.
'''I have tried this with all addons disabled''' but the same problem is occurring.
Does it happen for you? If not, how could I solve it?
I will report as a bug if others have this problem.
    Thanks.

I changed the network.protocol-handler.external.mailto setting in about:config to the default value (true) and that seemed to fix it.
I don't know what changed it before though.

  • Printing from Explorer context menu prints in wrong scale

    Hi,
I have a problem with a customer; when they right-click a PDF file and choose "Print" from Explorer context menu the actual printout is sometimes printed in the wrong scale, ie it looks zoomed. The same problem exists when printing PDF's from other applications as well, for example Outlook. If they print the same PDF one more time (by right-click-printing) the problem may resolve itself. Sometimes it's enough to print twice, other times they need to do it more times. The problem exists in several computers, which is why i want it to be a problem with some default-settings in Adobe Reader.
What might cause this behavior ?

So, 4 years have passed, and one would hope the problem solved itself in some update the last 4 years.
However, it has not. (Well, actually it was fixed for a short while. Then it broke again:()
I do have some fresh information that can help you devs at Adobe to maybe get closer to a solution.
Just before christmas (nov 22) i was doing a new attempt to solve the problem.
At the time Reader XI had been released, but not yet installed at the client. Crossing my fingers and praying to higher powers i downloaded XI and gave it a shot; and the problem actually went away! My theory was that finally some architectual change had been implemented; or parts of Reader had been rewritten for any reason. Anyhow, the problem was gone after nearly 4 years and both me and the client was happy!
Today the client called again. The PDF-printouts are zoomed again. Worse than ever. Now, EVERY PDF that's printed was getting zoomed (if printed from another program.). When printing, Reader flashes by the screen; so i guess the app does something like "adobe.exe /print %temp%\whatever.pdf" or however it works.
I immediately suspected that an update had been installed and broke the Reader again. This was the case. 11.0.06 had been auto-installed last week. After searching adobe site for 30 minutes i finally found the downloads required to get 11.0.05 installed and running again. *poof* problem gone. Every print is good.
    SOO..
11.0.05 does not contain the bug that makes most printouts zoomed. (WORKS)
11.0.06 contains the bug again. (DOES NOT WORK)
So, whatever changes are in that update broke the Reader for the client again.
ADOBE: Hope this gets u closer to a solution!
PEOPLE: If you are experiencing the same problem as my client, please try my solution. It just might help you.
ps. oh, and where u download older versions from adobe.com is
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows
    Install order:
    - 11.0.01                AdbeRdr11000_mui_Std.zip
    - 11.0.04 patch      AdbeRdrUpd11004_MUI.msp
    - 11.0.05 patch      AdbeRdrSecUpd11005.msp
Im not sure if installing Multilanguage/All Languages makes a difference.

  • Explorer context menu

In Windows Explorer, when I right click a file, I can open the VI by selecting an application from the "Open With..." item. However, whenever I run Labview 8.2, it removes my Labview 8.0 item from the list, making it cumbersome to start up an older project. (I have to start Labview 8.0 with a desktop icon and then open the VI).
What I would like to see is for each version to add its own item to the menu bar, but still leave the old ones there. That way when I want to open an older project, I can simply right-click and pick the appropriate version.
Alternatively you could have a handler that determines the version from the VI and starts the correct version of Labview.

I have 2 iCloud accounts. Can I delete one account so I can make use of additional space I purchased for the secondary account? Also iPhoto seems to only connect to the primary account? How do I send files to the secondary account?

Both accounts are completely independent from each other. In order to use the space that you have purchased for your secondary account, you must change it to become your primary account. Yes, as you said, services like photo stream only work with the primary account. Unfortunately, there is no comfortable way to just transfer data from one account to another one, but you can do it via a third party application e.g. via Dropbox: e.g. for photos: photos stored with your current primary account > manual transfer to dropbox > after you made your secondary account to the primary account,  transfer the photos back to your new primary account etc.

  • Trying to get Photoshop CS4 functional with Mavericks and an Epson 3880 printer. CS4 fails to send a file to the print queue. Have reinstalled the Epson 3880 driver for Mavericks. All looks good but no file is sent.

rying to get Photoshop CS4 functional with Mavericks and an Epson 3880 printer. CS4 fails to send a file to the print queue. Have reinstalled the Epson 3880 driver for Mavericks. All looks good but no file is sent.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

What EXACT version of Photoshop CS4 are you running?  You should be on Photoshop CS4 v 11.0.2.
Also run Apple's software update to see whether it offers you the latest Epson update:
    Printer Driver v9.33
Epson Stylus Pro 3880, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
MOST IMPORTANTLY:  have Photoshop re-create its own Preferences:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here:
How to Reset Photoshop CS6’s Preferences File | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV
    Mac OS
Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • Send a txt file to the printer with java

    Hello,
I want to sent a txt file to the printer in java. I' am using the USB port. I can try to setup a dos command (print c:\test.txt), but I don't know the exactly command.
There is also another solution in java I thing but I don't know the code!
Can somebody give me the exact command for DOS and/or the code I have to write in java?
    THANX!!!!

in dos imo you are not able to use usb-port. if your printer would be on lpt you could use javacomm ( http://java.sun.com/products/javacomm/index.html ). there is also another thread talking about this (print text to lpt). for your usb-problem i don't have a solution. but you could use JNI (java native interface). write code in c, compile to dll and use it in java.

  • Sending file to br printed

I am working on a program that needs to be able to print some files. It should just be able to select files from a list and it should be able to send them to the printer (without opening them). To complicate matters more these files to be printed are pdfs. The printer I am dealing with is suppose to be "pdf aware," but is a network printer.
Is there anywhere that I can get some good information on starting a project like this?
    -Brandy

Basic rule of I/O = "read" then "write"
You cant print any kind of file without first reading the file someway or the other. It is possible to read a file without necessarily showing it on screen.
Test this using text files. Read them into a JTextField and (if using Java 6) call the print() method to print these files.
Should be the same principle for pdfs

Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, isn't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen.  Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document.  Any ideas?

Figured it out.  It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat.  Here's the fix:
    Open Finder/Applications
    Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
    Quit Safari
    Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

  • Ready to print. Now, how to send this to the printer?

    Hello Again,
The little program is 5.5 x 8 inch pages (letter size paper folded in half). They must to
print it in 4 pieces of paper letter size, put them together and then fold them in half, (staple it).
I am using 1/4 inches in bleed and I would like to have crops marks. Must to be PDF!
I have no idea how to send this to the printer. Any help?
    Thanks a lot!!
    Jesus

    First, ask your printer.
Second, printers generally want unimposed PDF. IOW, export regular pages and let your printer arrange them the way they want it.
But definitely ask them first. And make sure you mention the bleed.

  • How to I add options to the Context Menu for html files under Site Content

Currently in Web Page Composer...  if a developer wants to get the Target URL to an html page in a WPC site (i.e. under the Site Content folder) they have to take several steps...   Content Menu -> Details -> Settings -> Properties -> Access Links -> copy the Target URL.  I would like to add this ability (i.e. to copy the target URL to clipboard) as a option to the "context menu" of each html file.  Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how it can be done?   It can be a global change if necessary.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Also check the Mouse driver settings in the Control Panel.

  • How to add "select all" to explorer context menu

In Windows 7 and  8 I was able to add "select all" to explorer right click context menu using a .vbs script file and a .reg file.  The same .vbs and  .reg files worked for both OS.  However, it does not work in Windows
    10.  Does anyone know how I can accomplish this in Windows 10?  Using Ctrl+A is awkward for me since I've used the context menu for so long.  Besides,  I guess I'm lazy.  Searching the net I've found other context menu adds but
    not this.

  • FR 9.0.5.2: Add node context menu to "uncommitted files" view

Hi, the "uncommitted files" view is really cool.
Would be great if you could add the file type specific context menu.
This would allow me to run Jalopy, PMD, ALT-POS1 or another tool directly in the view without having to open the file in the editor.
    Perhaps with multiple selection?
Additionally having "organize imports" would be helpful, too.
    Thanks, Markus

    Filed enhancement request# 3834665.

  • When trying to import bought CD's (10yr old) to ITunes, it recognizes the album and the tracks, but when importing I get the error message '  Error occurred while converting 'songname' file. The required disk cannot be found

Seems also that the majority of CD's that have these problems are Warner Music published (I have roughly 20 that display the same problem)

    Windows and iTunes 10.
Had this problem "Error importing file .... songname .... iTunes cannot locate the required file" when trying to import a CD today.
My library is on an external USB hard drive.  iTunes from time to time not only loses its own library file, but also confuses windows into thinking that the library files do not exist.
So the fix where you re-tell iTunes where to find its own media file (using the preferences menu hidden behind some opaque icon for reasons that pass rational understanding) fails, and when you try to find the file using windows explorer, windows possibly confused by apple "helper" files, or possibly lost in a delusion of its own, also thinks there are no files in the music directory.  This despite usage stats on the disk still clearly showing that a lot of space is being used up by files that "aren't there".
The fix for this windows user is close everything down.  Reboot, restart iTunes and presto it as if iTunes's / Window's temporary amnesia never happened.
Last time I "lost" the library was when I did the "upgrade" to iTunes 10. I wrongly put this down to a pathetic upgrade utility. I now realise that iTunes/Windows just loses this key element of the plot from time to time, screwing up windows when it does so.
Astonished how flaky this widely used and let's face it hardly brand new software combination is.
Now I don't know if this spectacularly unhelpful performance is Apple's fault or Microsoft's or both, so I'm not going to bother apportioning my contempt.  Shame on both your houses for needless worry that I'd have to re-rate and re-sort everything from a virgin set of file back ups yet again.
