Export and Import PST corrupting mailbox folder structure

Hi,
I have an old Exchange 2003 mailserver which I am replacing with Exchange 2013 server. I am doing a fresh install in a new domain and will import the old mailboxes (5) via PST's.
I have exported the mail from Exchange 2003 using exmerge to PST files, then imported using the new EAC import PST process. When completed I see that the folders inside the mailbox have corrupt names.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Craig

Hello Craig,
Did you see this issue before you import the pst file (which export with Exmerge)?
If not, I suggest you follow this way to have a try:
Use Outlook to export pst files from Exchange 2003 mailboxes.
Import the pst file to Exchange 2013 mailboxes.
After that, check whether this issue will occur or not.
Thanks,
Evan Liu

In schema2 , i have only table structure , not any data ..Nothing wrong with exporting the structure. Just use 'ignore=y' on the import. When it tries to do the CREATE TABLE it (the CREATE statement) will fail because the table already exists, but the ignore=y means "ignore failures of CREATE", and it will then proceed to INSERT the data.

  • How to export and import complete organization structure?

    Hello,
I wanna import many (maybe 300) organization XML ObjectGroups in the right order.
I tried something like that (see the code below),... but this solution only works for one file.
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <!DOCTYPE Waveset PUBLIC 'waveset.dtd' 'waveset.dtd'>
    <Waveset>
    <ImportCommand name='include' file='c:/import/org001.xml'/>
    <ImportCommand name='include' file='c:/import/org0011.xml'/>
    <ImportCommand name='include' file='c:/import/org002.xml'/>
</Waveset>I tried to use wildcards like *,%,... the result is an error message :(
    e.g.
file='import/org001*.xml'/>Has anyone experiences with that case?
There are an another way to export and import complete organization structure in IDM 8.x ?
    greets and thx

Hi, Since you are using an program to transform the org structure to XML file,
why not write another program, just to generate the including list?
    Then import from the file?
PS: How to generate the organization xml?
Some file looks like the following? But how to generate those IDs of its parent is a problem...
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <!DOCTYPE ObjectGroup PUBLIC 'waveset.dtd' 'waveset.dtd'>

  • Exporting and importing projects and DCs

We are not blessed with the JDI, and I am in a situation whereby I would like to take a project from one machine and import it into another.
I tried this by exporting to a ZIP file, but when I try to import it, I have to create a new project in the target system, then import the ZIP file into that. When I do that it does not seem to preserve the original structure of the project.
I noticed that there are many different formats in which the projects can be exported. Do any of these allow me to export the project and import it, preserving the internal structure of the project, ideally without creating a project in the target system first?
    Kind Regards,
    Tony.

If you are working with the same version of Developer Studio on both PCs you can just copy the whole file structure of the project from your workspace to the workspace of the other PC.
Then, in developer studio of the second PC, choose "import existing project", and browse to the root folder of the project.
This should work, but keep in mind that eventually you will face versioning problems as you will make changes on both PCs...

  • EDL Exporting and Importing 101 - Questions

We are testing Premiere's EDL exporting and importing capabilities for the first time, and are having issues. We set up a very simple test project with only 13 clips and a timeline with only 10 edits. This is what it looks like:
    http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/760/j00s.jpg
We then exported an EDL, started a new Premiere project, and imported the EDL that we had created. It looks like this:
    http://imageshack.us/scaled/landing/32/6hd9.jpg
In the bin, Premiere has now turned our 13 clips into 41. There are a lot of duplicates, some of them appear to be audio files, even though they're still listed as .mxf, and the start and end times are all over the place. Our two questions are: Why is it making all of these clips? And how do you link the media? We started linking some media manually, but because the start and end times are scrambled, the edits appear completely wrong in the sequence that we've created.

There are a variety of options offered when exporting an EDL.
These options need to be considered in conjunction with how the Sequence (audio/video layers) are set up. (managed for the edl export)
Source footage management is vital in any EDL workflow and even more so when digital clip based ( as opposed to tape based linear assets).  ie. Digital clips have "unusual" filenames and are buried deep in folder structures. Filenames can be duplicated in a card to cards system. (mxf would be an exception)
The EDL is usually used between systems.
In your case  you are testing on the same system and assumeably the source footage resides there as well.  This is a case for managing the "source" so as the links work.
Example. When I take footage to a Resolve Suite out of house.  I set up all the source footage on an transfer drive in the same manner ( filenames, folder names etc) as the original local drive .

  • Question regarding export and import of Hyperion Security during upgrade

    Hi Guys,
We are upgrading Essbase, Integration Services from 7x to 9x which are utilizing Hyperion Hub and we are going to follow the method of uninstalling 7x and reinstalling 9x components.
Now my question is, what is the best way of transferring security from 7x to 9x. I heard that Advanced Security Manager can be used to export and import back security. Or is there any
    other way of doing it??
Can someone please enlighten me on this.
    Thanks in advance

First let me say that any software that comes without a save button should be sold with a warning label.
    Why?
Question 1:  I have having an issue comprehending how to save a photo.  In my case  I select the photo, zoom in on the subject, export it to my desktop. The pciture on my desktop does not incorporate the change. Am I missing a step? What do I need to do to export it with this change? I actually watched a You Tube video on this and could not see what i was not doing.
You must have selected the wrong option in the Export dialog box. Under "File Settings", you need to select JPG and not "Original". Of course, you probably need to do some additional viewing of videos (or some reading) to learn that most people's workflow does not automatically include a "Save" or "Export" after editing the photo. It's not a necessary part of Lightroom's workflow, unless you need the photo for some non-Lightroom activity.
Question 2: I just installed Lightroom and am trying to import my 12k strong photo collection. The Import button pulls in about 2k and then cannot find anymore. The photos are stored in folders by date within a master folder. I am selecting the master folder. I can go in and import the sub-fodler individually. However i do not want to do that 200 times. There is no apparent way to go into the subfolder level and select more than one folder.
In the Import dialog box, on the left, under "Source", there is a checkbox that says "Include SubFolders". Make sure this is checked.
Seriously, you need to spend some time reading introductory material about LR because Lightroom does not work like any other photographic software you might have used in the past. You are handling it as if it was no different than standard photo editing software, and you are going to be frustrated if that is your mindset. See the videos at adobe.tv and read this: http://www.flickr.com/groups/adobe_lightroom/discuss/72157603590978170/

  • Export and import the windows phone contacts as .vcf file to the application

Hi, I need to export the windows phone contacts as .vcf file and import it to my windows phone application. I'm unable to import the full details of a contact. Is there any sample code to export and import phone contacts programmatically. Please
help if there is any solution. Thanks.

    Found this on the internet:
    http://www.lumisoft.ee/lswww/download/downloads/Net/
If you download the Lumisoft.Net.Zip and extract it looks like there is a vCard folder with some classes that may help you.
You will need to use something like that or search a bit more and find a vCard C# Helper library.

  • Export and Import of Configuration Data

    Hi All,
I have created a number of custom properties, structures, groups, renderers, layout sets etc and would like to move them from Dev to Test system.
I have found the following in the help doco:
"Export and Import of Configuration Data"
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/e1/029c414c79b25fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm
However I am unable to see its functionality in our portal systems (namely the Actions->Export and Actions->Import functions).
Our version of Portal is: 6.0.9.6.0
    KM: 6.0.9.3.0 (NW04 SPS09 Patch3)
Therefore we should be able to see it? no?
Are there any special settings to see these buttons?
    Cheers,
    Vic

    Thanks for your replies.
OK, so in otherwords, it is not available in SP09 and only in SP12+.
So, to "transport" this information I will have to manually reapply thes settings in the Test system!

so plz help wanna just export the data of phone not the creation of table and data ???? or how can i import just the data from this .dmp ??

Pl post OS and database versions.
You will likely need to use the IGNORE flag - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e22490/original_import.htm#sthref2201
Imp utility (by default) will try and create the table first. Since the table already exists, imp reports an error. Use the IGNORE flag in your imp command to not report such errors.

  • Export and Import of mappings/process flows etc

    Hi,
We have a single repository with multiple projects for DEV/UAT and PROD of the same logical project. This is a nightmare for controlling releases to PROD and in fact we have a corrupt repository as a result I suspect. I plan to split the repository into 3 separate databases so that we have a design repos for DEV/UAT and PROD. Controlling code migrations between these I plan to use the metadata export and subsequent import into UAT and then PROD once tested. I have used this successfully before on a project but am worried about inherent bugs with metadata export/imports (been bitten before with Oracle Portal). So can anyone advise what pitfalls there may be with this approach, and in particular if anyone has experienced loss of metadata between export and import. We have a complex warehouse with hundreds of mappings, process flows, sqlldr flatfile loads etc. I have experienced process flow imports that seem to lose their links to the mappings they encapsulate.
    Thanks for any comments,
    Brandon

  • Export and Import of Access DB tables in Apex

    Hi,
    i need help.
I wanna export an MSACCESS DB Table into an ORACLE DB 10g2.
but every time i get an error course my ODBC driver which isnt compatible to my tns service name.
    what could i do?
i only want to export a table..not the whole database.
if i want to export and import a Table over a XE Version, there are no errors and i could see the table in APEX.
    ...thx for help :)

    Hi Timo,
If you open your table in Access, and click the "select all" (the empty grey box at the left of the header row), you can copy the entire table and paste it into Apex as though you were copying from Excel - the structure of the copied data is the same. The only thing is that you will be limited to 32,000 characters.
Obviously, though, getting hold of, and setting up, the correct ODBC drivers is the more proper solution but the above may solve your immediate problem.
    Regards
    Andy

  • Export and import of a schema

    Hi all,
I'm having some trouble doing a simply export than import of a schema (data + structure, tables, sequences, triggers, indexes) from 10g XE to a same version server on another machine.
    I follow different ways:
    1) Export from "script sql" both as file as sql commands. Trying to import I get this error:
    Not found
The requested URL /apex/f was not found on this server2) (traduction from italy language sorry if it is not exact in english) Loading/Downloading data -> Download -> I tryed both file and xml format. In this case I must select one table a time... but only the structure is exported, no data... fortunately I have only 3 table to export, but if I got many tables?
In short, which is the best practice to export schema with inside data from a server to another with same version??
    Thankyou

    thanks in advance

tablespace TESTTBS doesn't exist in the database where your are importing.
Either create tablespace in target database or
use show=y option while importing to get table structure and create manually in target database then import and give ignore=y.

Subject: How to perform FULL System Export/Imports
    Type: BULLETIN
    Status: PUBLISHED
    Content Type: TEXT/X-HTML
    Creation Date: 18-APR-1994
    Last Revision Date: 30-AUG-2002
    Purpose
This article highlights some important points to consider when performing
a Full System Export and Import.
    Scope and Application
It is intended to assist users performing FULL System Exports and Imports.
A Full System Export and Import is a useful way to replicate or clean up
a database. Please note the following guidelines when performing a Full
    System Export and Import:
    1. When performing the import, ensure you are pointing at the correct
instance. Always check values for the SID and two task driver before
    proceeding.
*Note:   On Unix systems, just entering a sub-shell, such as using
C-shell, can change the database that the import would work
    against.
    2. When possible, it is advisable to take a physical copy of the
exported database and the database you intend to import into before
starting the import. This ensures any mistakes are reversible.
    3. NEVER run a FULL SYSTEM IMPORT on a machine that has more than one
database UNLESS you are 100% sure all tablespaces have been
pre-created. A full import will create any undefined tablespaces
using the same datafile names as the exported database. There are
situations where this is very dangerous:
-> If the datafiles belong to ANY other database, they will be
CORRUPTED. This is especially true if the exported database is
on the same machine, because its datafiles will be re-used by
the database you are importing into.
-> If the datafiles have names that clash with existing operating
    system files.
    4. When exporting, it is advisable to also produce a report showing
information you may need before / after the import:
-> List the tablespaces and datafiles
    -> List the rollback segments
-> List a count, by user, of each object type such as tables,
    indexes, etc.
This enables you to ensure that tablespaces have been pre-created
and to check the success of the import after it is complete.
    5. If you are creating a completely new database from an export, remember
to create an extra rollback segment in SYSTEM, and make this available
in the init.ora file before proceeding with the import.
    6. There are some versions of export that do not retain sequence numbers
correctly. It is advisable to select next_value for each sequence
after the export so that these can be checked after import.
Following these guidelines will help you to avoid major problems.

Subject: How To Copy an Oracle Database To Another Machine
    Type: HOWTO
    Status: PUBLISHED

    Creation Date: 12-OCT-2001
    Last Revision Date: 01-OCT-2003
goal: How to copy an Oracle database to another machine
fact: Oracle Server - Enterprise Edition
    fix:
Pre-requisites: The copy is between 2 machines, both have to be on the same OS
and have to have exactly the same database version installed.
    1. Make sure the database you want to copy was closed with a SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE,
    SHUTDOWN NORMAL or SHUTDOWN TRANSACTIONAL.
    2. Copy init.ora and control files to create instance and be able to go in
mount mode. Check the init.ora for the locations where the controlfiles have
to be, if those locations are not valid on the machine put the control files on
different places and adjust the init.ora accordingly.
3.a. Copy the datafiles (all of them).
    b. Copy the redo-logfiles (all of them).
4.a. (Unix only) Set the environment variables:
ORACLE_SID - set to the database name you wish to create
ORACLE_HOME - set to full pathname of the Oracle system home directory
PATH - needs to include $ORACLE_HOME/bin
    b. (NT/2000 only) Do 'set ORACLE_SID=<SID>'
Use oradim to create the service for the instance. For more information
on oradim please refer to (the part that refers to creating a new instance):
    Note:68720.1 Creating a new 7.3, 8.0, 8.1 Instance/Database
    5. Use servermanager (check the name to use for your version of oracle) or
sqlplus (version 9i and above) to startup the database in mount mode.
    Do
    CONNECT INTERNAL/<PASSWORD>
    then
    STARTUP MOUNT
Then do a rename of the copied datafiles if they are not in the same path as on
the other machine. For all the files that are in the result of the query:
    SELECT NAME FROM V$DATAFILE;
    do
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '<oldfullpath>\<filename>' to <
    newfullpath>\<filename>';
    6. Query the datadictionary for the old location of the redolog files using:
    SELECT MEMBER FROM V$LOGFILE;
If the new place is not the same as the old do:
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '<oldfullpath>\<redologfilename>' to &
    lt;newfullpath>\<redologfilename>';
    7. Now open the database:
    ALTER DATBASE OPEN;

  • Ann: LR2/TreeExporter - Export your images while preserving the folder structure

    Hi,
I've just released a new plug-in that'll export images whilst preserving the original folder structure.
The plug-in scans the images to be exported in order to determine the deepest folder that contains all the images, and then exports the tree from this point (although you can optionally choose to start higher up) to your destination.
Real time examples are given so that it's very clear what's going to happen.  The UI is polished and easy to use.
    More details here:

    Hi,
Unfortunately the SDK doesn't offer access to this
    information.
I hope some day it will...
SDK should provide methods to enumerate collections.
Even if it did this would probably not be possible
since a photo can belong to many collections.
But this is not a problem - copies will be duplicated in correspondent folders.
    Regards,
    Grafin
