Export as qt movie ... no video?

Hey everyone,
This is weird. I exported as a qt movie. Did not try to burn on dvd but just clicked on my file and only heard audio... no video?

When I export to QT movie, the video on a slide doesn't play and no playbac

I have a .mov file as content on one of my slides. when i play the file within keynote it works beautifully. the video plays as directed (either on click or automatically, depending how i set it up), and when the mouse hovers over the movie you get playback controls. When i export the presentation to QT, it no longer works. HELP!! i need to send thsi file out and now it looks like i'll have to spend all night recreating it in with a different application!
I have checked the box for embedding teh movie files. not sure what else to do.
Any suggestions??

ok -- i think i get it now:
it can't be set to Hyperlinks only (as that disabled the automatic playing of hte video, and it didn't recognize the 'click to play' option either).
and there's no controls for playback at all.
looks like if i want to give it the look of a still image that will play on click, i actually need one page with only the image and a link to 'play video' which actually takes you to a different page with the video that automatically begins to play (at least i'll try that next.)

When exporting/rendering a .mov from both PP and AE the .mov thumbnail is not right

I have recently upgraded to OSX mavericks and updated my AE and PP CS6. When I export/render a movie the videos seem fine but the thumbnails are not a screenshot of the video - which is how I would like it (how it used to be). Instead it is of the quicktime logo just like this - http://embryology.med.unsw.edu.au/embryology/images/8/8c/Quicktime-icon.jpg. Please can anyone tell me how to fix this problem.

additional information -
I also noticed that rendering from final cut also creates the wrong thumbnails (used to be a screenshot as explained previously)
Exporting from quicktime pro seems fine (thumbnails have screenshot)

Good video, poor still picture when export to QuickTime Movie

I exported my project from Final Cut Pro. Had video and still images. When viewing expoprted video in QuickTime Movie, the video looks good but the still images look distorted (pixulated). The images were ~2.0 MB each. If I make the viewer window for QuickTime Movie small, then images look good. I imported the images from IPhoto and if I open a big windom for viewing the images in IPhoto, they look great, just not in my finished video. Please help. Thanks

I am really new to Final Cut Pro (Have version 5)
I am using version 7.7 of QUICK TIME.
I did not resize the images. I justdragged image from IPhoto and insertd into timeline on Final Cut Pro. How should I resize.
My video setting is: DV NTSC 48kHz using NTSC (720x480)
I am going to take a course on Final Cut, but I have so much footage an I wanted to put out some video in the meantime.

FCP export to "QuickTime Movie" distorts aspect ratio of all text, displays video correctly.

My name is Alexander, I'm from Belgium.
I'm working on Final Cut Pro 6.0.6, on a MacBook Pro with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, running version 10.7.2 of Mac OS X (Lion).
I'm editing a 'making of' of a Flemish feature film. I shot this 35 minute documentary short with my own Canon HDV-camcorder (XH-A1). The Final Cut Pro-project is stored on an external hard drive (1 TB LaCie Minimus).
I've been doing exports to "QuickTime Movie" for years now, without any problems, but since a week or two, FCP started messing up the titles over the video - and the titles only. Their aspect ratio is messed up once exported, but they look just fine in the FCP Timeline (in Viewer, I can verify that the aspect ratio of the titles is always "0"). I'm trying to export this to "HDV - 720p25".
Here's a comparison between the two:
As you can see: the MOV has the titles' aspect ratio all weird, the upper one partly covering the lower one. All titles and text in the docu come out like this, but the video (and audio) is exported correctly.
Any ideas on how to solve this very annoying problem?

The producers of the film want to upload this making of-documentary on YouTube. Therefore, I need to give them a high-quality-mov with the least possible Megabites. My film has a 35 minute running time.
So I figured: Let's start with the 'smallest' high-quality FCP-export to begin with (HDV-720p25), and throw that one in Compressor, in order to end up with a 'small' but good looking H.264-MOV for YouTube.
But for some reason, those "HDV-720p25"-exports mess up the titles. And I can't figure out why.

"Export audio to movie" produces an all-white video or other problematic issue. Help.

The latest Logic X update seems to have broken the "export audio to movie" function. I need to re-import the movie file every time I want to export audio to movie or it results in an all-white video or a video that hangs up on a single frame. Does anyone know a good work-around or fix? I'm generally using video that is compressed in H264. I also need to deliver at that same codec. Not having to convert the original movie to a new format and then convert the version with music back to H264 again would be ideal.

Now Logic's gone racist, jeeze... what next?

Exporting Audio to Movie problem - no video

Hello, I am having a problem using the export audio to movie feature. I'm following all the steps listed in the Pro Training Series book to export a score to a movie, but when I try to open the file (which is a .mov) I do not get any video.
It pops up in Quicktime with no picture, only sound.
Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. I write jingles and lots of other stuff for video, and have been doing this for years in every previous version of logic. Now it seems like a no go. I'm not a happy camper

IMovie won't export a 3 picture movie (no video)

Having problems with my mac recently (actually my wife's mac). For years she has been doing movies with iMovie and iDVD and loves it overall. However, on her recently new (month old), she has a Macbook Pro, 16 gig ram, 2 gig video ram 750gig flash SSD drive storage, OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 latest patches, etc. She for some reason can NOT do an export of a movie. It is complaining about not enough memory.
So, from other posts, I did the sodu purge as admin user and cleared the memory file cache that was 6 gig... brought it back down to about 500k -- more reasonable. I then started iMovie to publish and it still failed. As soon as iMovie started, the file cache kicked back up to 3 gig which does not make sense. So I exited iMovie, re-purged and restarted iMovie.
I then created a new project. Put 3 single pictures in it -- no video at all. Then did publish and it nagged again about not enough memory. I even had the export down to mobile device output for smallest possible (vs HD1080 format).
It is like it has something permanently stuck in its craw and won't let go.
Now, another few things... I have done a full logout AND full shutdown SEVERAL TIMES and it still won't allow a published export.
Please help !!

iMovie is part of iLife. It should be on the #2 gray instalation disk that came with your MacBook

File type for export as quicktime movie

I thought I read here that "Export as Quicktime Movie" produces a .mov file (although without the extension). I'm using Brightcove to host our videos, and their publishpod says it accepts .mov files, but doesn't seem to work with the file from FCE. Is it really a .mov? Or do I need to export using Quicktime Conversion (and burn up lots more time in the process?)

I did search the forum and nothing addressed my specific issue. Sorry if I didn't phrase my question clearly.
Anyway, I suspect the problem is that the Brightcove software does not work well with the Apple Intermediate Codec. I had no problem with a .mov exported with H.264 compression. This adds extra time to my workflow, but I suspect it will be a necessary evil.

Export Audio to Movie - where is that function in Logic 9?

I have noticed that a very useful function in my Logic Pro 8 (version 8.0.2) options/movie/export audio to movie is not found in the Logic 9 version. One of my friends has this version (and an Intel Mac) but I cannot help him working with music and video - I cannot find it anywhere in the Logic 9 menus. Can you help?

I just opened a quicktime movie. Added an audio track, and am looking for the option indicated in the manual: "Choose File > Export Audio to Movie". Upstream it's indicated that this option only appears if a movie is present. My movie is present, but still this option does not appear?

How do I move iPhoto videos from macbook pro to macbook Air?

I have my main iphoto library on the pro but want to move things to the Air. I have been doing this through having both machines on the wireless network, sharing between them and then copying the pictures across. For some reason this won't allow me to move the videos (taken on iphone or digital camera) across. Any ideas on how I can easily get them across?

There is no way to share video. You'll need to export them from one Library and then import them to the other.

Exporting Audio to Movie, doesn;t export the audio

When I try Option>Movie>Export Audio to movie It rendereds but doesn't actully put the music into the video. Worked in 7.1 doesn;t work in 7.2.1 any plans on fixing this?

simiplicity of the 'Export audio to movie..."
function puts it at the top of the 'features that
really should work' for us composers to picture!

It's not broken. To be sure I went and tried it myself
and it worked fine. I did not even have to set the
locators, which I thought I would have to. I just dropped
the movie on a project and went to the menu. It did bring
up some dialog box I had not seen before. Something about
adding the tracks to use. It only showed track 1 but since I
could not figure out how to add the tracks I just hit OK and
it rendered all of them. Hope you get yours back up.

I'm new to Premiere and loving it, but I'm wondering what the best sequence settings, as well as export settings, will be for video captured from my Canon Rebel T4i camera.
I prefer to shoot either in 1080p with 24 fps, or 720p at 60 fps––what settings within premiere should I use when setting up my project, and what are some good export options for Youtube/Vimeo?

Export 16:9 .move file with FCP

Hello,
Since May this year I cannot export my FCP 16:9 project to a 16:9 .mov file anymore. The last good one I exported was May 4th, 2009. When I open this QuickTime file with FCP it is widescreen. I exported the same project on May 27th. That .mov file is letterboxed when opening it with FCP.
I never used QuickTime Pro because this program could and can only display my videos letterboxed.
I tried several options to try to export the movie 16:9 (Current Settings, DV PAL 48 kHz Anamorphic).
Someone advised me to use the Cmd-J option in Quicktime, but before May 27th, the export was good and I could use it in iDVD. But since that date it is not possible anymore. When importing the movie directly in iDVD, it is 4:3 format. And after changed it to 1024 with Cmd-J in QuickTime it is halfwidescreen in iDVD (looks like 14:9 i.s.o. 16:9)
How can I get my old good working version of FCP back I had on May, 4th and earlier ?
Or how can I export to QuickTime movie that gives me a 16:9 video again as it was before May 27th ?

I tried a new 16:9 project. In this new project FCP the video is exported in 16:9 format.
So there must be somewhere a 16:9/4:3 option switch in my old 16:9 project.
Where can this option be set to 16:9 ?

What is the source of the videos and movies? Downloaded from the iTunes store or did you convert them from other sources? If the latter...
QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, iTunes & the iPod (both of which use QuickTime) only show the video and no sound.
