Export Error. Error compiling movie. Disk Full.

I have the following error since CS6 when exporting some videos: Export Error. Error compiling movie. Disk Full.
All my drives have plenty of space, NTFS 7200rpm, everything was fine with CS5.5. Same problem with Encoder or Premiere Pro.
Much of the stuff I export is going fine but I have this error with some sequences and formats.
It always crash to this error when exporting sequences with "Match Sequence Settings".
For one of my projects, when exporting to wmv, out of 6 sequences one always crash to Export Error. Error compiling movie. Disk Full.
If I encode those sequences to mpeg2, everything is fine.
I installed the new update this morning but it doesn't help.

Hi, since my last post there has been no activity on this thread, so...
Has anyone found a workaround?  I find it incredibly inconvenient and unforgivable that I get this error when trying to export a movie in PPCS6 using "Match Sequence Settings".  Some facts:
1. I always get this error when trying to export from PPCS6 using match sequence settings.  It happens with all movies.  Starting a new sequence doesn't change it
2. I never get this error if I use another encoding option
3. My disk is not full
4. It happens whether I use software engine or GPU acceleration (and also if I delete the previews)
5. It happens on both the PC and MAC versions of PPCS6.  With sequences created natively on each machine and imported one to the other.
6. If I import the sequence into CS5, then hey presto, it works without error.  At the moment that is my workaround, but it is not at all acceptable that I have to do this.
7. The sequences were all created in CS6.  None of them were imported from another version
8. My source video is 1080p AVCHD footage
Any further thoughts on how to deal with this really frustrating and crippling new bug in CS6 would be incredibly welcome.

  • CS6 - "error compiling movie - Disk Full"

This is the message I am getting from both Premiere and Media Encoder cs6 when I try to export my Premiere project.  It is 1080p 59.94fps.  This disk I am exporting to is FAR from full.  I am running Mac OS X 10.7.4 - not sure how else I can export with these settings aside from "match sequence settings".  Has anyone else had this problem?

Just to add a data point, having same error editting 1080P60 footage:
    New CS6 Premiere Set-up
    New Fresh win7 64bit install
    P9x79 Mobo - 64MB RAM
    3 Drives:
    OS - Raid 0  (2 - corsair force SSDs - 350 GB total) - 900/500MB Reads/writes
    Clips - Raid 10 (14 - 2 GB WD blacks - Areca controller#1 - 12.7 TB total) - 1000/1000 MB Read/writes
    scratch/preview - Raid 0 (9 - corsair force SSDs - Areca controller#2 - 1.6 TB) - 3000/3000 MB Read/writes (yes - I know ;->)
All drives NTFS and internal (so that is not the issue). Have NOT installed quicktime yet.
Can't export back to orginal settings - but can for any other format.
So it is something else beside a FAT32 and/or free space issue.

  • Media encoder error compiling movie disk full

I am trying to encode a movie, and the encode is estimated to take 2 hours.  I am using my new mac pro, osx 10.9.3.
This comes up after I get the message "DIsk not ejected properly" from the system.
The disks still appear in the finder, and the files in the hard drive are still linked from within premiere.
The disks are not full.  There are 1.1 terabytes still available.
The computer is not going to sleep, although the hard drives might be going to sleep.
System Preferences > Energy Saver > Put hard disks to sleep when possible has been UNCHECKED.

  • I/O error during query then disk full on server

    Hello,
I was trying to run a complicated select statement on a 11g release 1 Oracle server (using a mix of external and internal tables). While I was running the query, I noticed that the free disk space on my server was decreasing dangerously. The disk got full and the query stopped with an I/O error.
The problem now is how can I get back the space taken during the query?
I tried to shutdown/startup the database.
    I tried several commands:
    alter system flush buffer_cache;
    alter system flush shared_pool;
But my disk is still full...
Thanks in advance for your help !!

    Hello,
What is your temp tablepsace size is set to? You can always drop temp tablespace and recreate a new one and reclaim space to start process of shrinking some of the data files.
    CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp03 TEMPFILE
          'C:\data02\temp03.dbf' SIZE 10M AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 10M MAXSIZE 1024M;
    ALTER DATABASE DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp03;
    DROP TABLESPACE temp INCLUDING CONTENTS;Regards

  • Erase Free Space then Disk Full

help. I ran erase free space in DU, worked fine but then created some temp file/s which then filled my HD up. Where are these file/s so I can delete it. Before I had over 400G free, now nothing.
Is this normal when you run secure delete..?
    Slee

Hi Glynn... So I gather. However, I didn't know at the time and may have screwed up. It ran fine for an hour, then said writing temporary files. After a few min's I got the error message start-up disk full, which it was. Not knowing what was happening, I hit skip. It them seem to hang, so I forced a quit.
Before I has 450G+ free on my disk, now less than a 100 meg. Oh dear. It seems by forcing a quit of DU these temp files have still to be deleted. Where are they..?
    Help

I'm trying to trancode a 11-minute HDV footage to P2 format for editing. The destination Hard drive is a NTFS file system 500gb esata drive with 300gb free. I have successfully done this many times before but this time it gives me the error message. It happens like 5 times now. I have tried to clean the Cache and set the destination to my PC's internal drive, but the result is the same.
Does anyone has the same problem and how to resolve this?

Make sure you're running the latest updates for AME - it could have been addressed in one of the patches.  Beyond that, that Disk Full error can be misleading - there are times that's displayed when it's just an encoding failure.  It could actually be something as misleading as an error decoding some part of the mpeg - I'd try loading the .mpeg into PPro and try playing through the entire file - check to see whether or not you get any errors down on the status bar (bottom right, a stop sign will show up) - if there's an error generating the mpeg index file or errors in the stream, that's where they'll pop up.

  • Can't EXPORT or RENDER in PREM CC!! "Error compiling movie. Unknown Error."

I am using PMW200 MXF files alongside 5D MKiii files - I finished the edit and went to render/export and it won't let me do either! I can't get the edit out of the software and I have a deadline in an hour.
I only bought the software today (have been using the trial version and I am just coming from FCP 7 - I get this error:
    "Error compiling movie. Unknown Error."

    Hello Bill
The Adobe KB Article (http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/error-compiling-movie-rendering -or.html ) does not answer the question asked, because the end of the error message is "Unknown error" which is not listed in this article.
I often encouter this error which is a RANDOM error which occurs only with pictures (4256x2832 .jpg or more when I use panoramic pictures with more than 50 MPx) but never with video (1920x1080 HD .m2ts) from my camcorder. The only way I found to do a complete render is :
    - save and close the project without editing it,
    - close Adobe Premiere Pro (CS6 or CC, same error),
    - reopen Premiere Pro and reload the project,
    - resume the render.
If I render WITHOUT Mercury Playback Engine : all is perfect, no error but the render needs very much more time.
My own conclusion : this render crash might be due to VRAM oveflooded during render with Mercury Playback Engine (this might be checked and monitored with the freeware GPU-Z).
My GPU is GTX 570 with 1280 MB VRAM and the render are only full HD (H.264 1920x1080i).
If you have a solution except remove the GPU and purchase a GTX 770 OC 4 GB VRAM, I am waiting for it.
    My actual system :
    - CPU Intel core i7 970 (6 cores, overeclocked to 3,9 GHz),
    - MoBo : Intel DX58SO2,
    - RAM : 24 GB,
    - GPU GTX570 with VRAM 1280MB (Nvidia driver allways up-to-date),
    - HDD : RAID 10 with four WD 1002FAEX (7200 tpm, 64 MB cache),
    - OS W7 64 SP1, 64 bits (allways updated)

  • Cannot export (error compiling movie, unknown error)

    Hi all,
I'm running Premiere Pro 2.0, and I really need to export this vid for a project. EVERY SINGLE TIME it will not export. I always get the same error: 'Error compiling movie (unknown error)'.  My graphics drivers are up to date, I have enough disk space, and my scratch disks are set to the right places. I tried Quicktime, AVI, compressed AVI, all at many different resolutions. Has any one else had this problem? If so, is there a solution?
BTW I'm running an Intel Core 2 Quad with 4 gigs of RAM.
    Thanks.

  • Why am I getting a "Disk Full" error message when attempting to export?

I am trying to export my movie at large quality or higher and every time it gives me a "disk full" error. However, I was able to successfully export it at medium quality. I don't understand why I would be getting that error though because both my internal hard drive and external drive, which I am exporting from (but onto the internal), have ample amount of space to accommodate for a large or HD quality video. Any help would be much appreciated!

How much space do you have?

  • Error message ''Disk Full' when trying to export with CS6, works fine in 5.5

I get an error message when I try to export media in Premiere CS6 that I don't have in CS5.5
I use export media for a AVCHD 60fps sequence with a few photoshop images on top of the main track. In the export settings I choose ''match sequence settings'' which gives me a .mpeg I- frame, 1920 x 1080 P, 60fps, quality 50, and a I tick the ''use maximum render quality'' check box at the bottom.
It used to work fine but now I get a message: Disk Full where there is 1.5 TB free on the disk?
I have the exact same sequence made in Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and it exports fine.
It started to act weird after I used the queue for the first time and it went to the CS6 encoder.
Since I used that once and it gave me that message for the first time, even when I try to do the same thing directly in Premiere CS6 , I always get the same error message.
Question 2, is there a place to change the settings from 50 to 100 for the quality of this export profile?
By the way I can export with other profiles without problems but this setting is the only one that I've seen that lets me keep my 60 frames per second in the export
process. (Example: I can export this sequence in the H.264, 1920 x 1080, 30fps, high quality preset, using the maximum render quality in CS6)

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the input but if you read my message correctly and until the end I already can export to other settings and I want an answer to this problem. There's no logical explanation to why this suddenly wouldn't work with the same sequence that it used to do fine with and that CS 5.5 handles fine.
As I said earlier this is the only setting that lets me export my sequence with the 60 fps, that I know of, for further and easier manipulation. As my main camera provides me with these 60 fps I'd really like to be able to have them left in that transition phase and, no, I'm not gonna give up until I know, really, what's going on and solve that problem. If this is a bug it needs to be fixed, if not I want to know what's happening.
Also there's no answer to my question 2: Question 2, is there a place to change the settings from 50 to 100 for the quality of this export profile?
So for you experts out there the question is still hanging.

  • CS 5.5 Export - Error Compiling Movie - Unknown Error

I am running CS 5.5 and every time I export in Premiere or in Media Encoder - I get this message:
Error Compiling Movie - Unknown Error
I have tracked it down to a video clip with alpha channel. I have some animated overlays - If I turn off this layer it exports fine, but unfortunately I need the animated video with alpha in the exported file.
The video is using the Lagarith Codec. I have updated the codec and still getting the error. I have also tried using other codecs that support an alpha channel, like the Matrox IFrame with Alpha codec and the same problem exists.
These are TV shows and I need to get this resolved if anyone has any suggestions. I've done hundreds of these same formatted shows in the past, so it is not my system, drives, cpu, etc. This did not happen on previous versions of Premiere Pro.

    Hm-m,
Obviously, you are using the Alpha Channel for some Transparency. Are there any other Effects applied to that problem Clip?
If you could post a screen-cap, showing that Clip Selected (and probably the Effects Control Panel also), plus the underlying Clips on the Timeline, perhaps someone can see an issue there.
You do have the 64-bit version of Lagarith installed, don't you?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

Thanks for the help evry one...

That error can happen for many reasons...one of the reasons that I occassionaly get it is because I try exporting a movie to an external drive that has been formated in the old FAT32 instead of the NTSF standard.  FAT32 only allows for file sizes up to 2 gigs.  And as soon as it reaches that...I would get that error.  I don't know if that is why you are getting that error...but it would be easy to check.  1) are you generating a file that is over 2 gigs?  2) is your drive that you are exporting to FAT 32 (just right click the drive in My Computer and select "properties" then just look for what it says next to "file system".
