Export from Captivate to MS Office (PowerPoint, Word)

Good day! I have a question.
I Have a Captivate project (slides). This slides are made in Captivate, but I want to export it in MS Office (PowerPoint or Word) and then change this slides in MS Office programs. How can I do this?

To export: File > Export > Project Captions and Closed Captions, and save it as Word doc.
To import the edited content: File > Import > Project Captions and Closed Captions. The relevant changes get updated automatically.
As much as possible, don't change anything in the Captivate file between these tasks. It has not caused any issues to me till now, but somehow I am a bit cautious in these matters. Better safe than sorry.

Can I save/export from Captivate 4 down to Captivate 3?

Yes, you can! But you need Captivate 3 installed in your computer.
First, open the project in Captivate 4. Copy all the slides. Open a new project in Captivate 3. Paste all the slides.
I have done this with Captivate 4 to Captivate 2, so I am sure it should work with 3.

  • Export from Captivate 3 to Flash CS3

I followed directions located in Adobe Captivate 3's help
menu about exporting to Flash CS3. I have tried both exporting from
Captivate and Importing from Flash to move my captivate project
into flash. About 5 times, an error saying "Unknown error" had
occurred popped up. I closed Flash and Captivate a couple times and
then it worked. Several new errors popped up during the
"successful" import---worse yet, the captivate project imported
terribly! Pieces of the demonstration were all over the stage.
Long story short, something is wrong. Is this a Vista thing?
Does anyone know about any of this?

Doesn't seem to be specific to Vista.
I've had similar issues trying to export to Flash. But
    sometimes it seems to
work beautifully (although always with an error message about
    "unable to
find Flash.exe" or similar), aside from in issue with the
    backgrounds all
importing to Flash at the wrong size. This is easily worked
    around, and has
been discussed here a number of times.
My first suggestion to you is to try rebooting your machine
    before trying to
    export again.

  • I can not export from Xcelcius Present 2008 to PowerPoint or Word

I can successfully export to PDF, but not to PowerPoint or Word.  I have Excelcius Present 2008, version 5.2.1.0, build 12,2,1,94
I have MS Office Standard Edition 2003 SP3.  My operating system is Windows XP Professional, version 2002, SP3
When I go to the Flie/Export menu and select PPT, it asks me for a file name and where to put it.  After naming the file and selecting the folder to store it in, I click OK and I get a small window that says "creating SWF file".  After 3-4 seconds that window disappears, but it seems the file is never actually created.  I search for it in the specified location (or even on the entire computer) and it can not be found.  Also, I understand that Xcelcius should open PowerPoint immediately after the file is created, but this is not happening.

    Hi,
You can refer the following SDN Thread where the similar problem is reported.
Xcelsius won't export to PPT or DOC

  • Unable to export from Captivate 4 to Flash CS4

    Hello everyone!
I am attempting to export a captivate project over to flash CS4.  However when it goes from captivate over to flash the result is basically a slide show. It does not show any of the animations that are present in Captivate. I also keep recieving an error message.
I have searched for how to solve this problem for quite a while now and so far have come up with nothing.
This is the error message that flash gives me:
The following elements in your project have not been converted. They are not supported by this importer.
    508 Compliance
A swf animation slide has been imported. The following files must be made available at publish time:
    Project01_slide_22_0.swf
    DefaultPreloader.swf
Please make sure you publish the project to “C:\Documents and Settings\jmillard\Desktop.” Saving the project to this directory will ensure that test project will work with the swf animation slides.
Unfortunately I am on a tight schedule to get this project done and the Captivate 4 and Flash CS4 I am using are both 30 day trials, so I am in quite a hurry.
If you could please help me I'd greately appreciate it!

When you click on <Send Book to Blurb> a dialog should come up that asks for your ID and password for your Blurb account. I don't know if Blurb ships to Norway - you probably can find out at the Blurb website. But I don't think that this is the problem here since you also cannot export a PDF or JPGs.
I don't know of any specifics why this is not possible for you but it's worth trying to replace the Preference File.
This file can go "funny" and is then responsible for all kinds of strange behavior of Lr. The remedy is replacing the Preference File.
BTW: Re-installing Lr or updating / upgrading Lr does not replace the Preference File since it is designed to "survive" upgrades.

  • Export from reports and Excel Office 2010

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.6 apparently does not support export to MS Office 2010... Anyway to make it export in correct format?  I can read the files upon open from export, but often the formatting is pretty messed up.

I have no choice in excel.  It says exporting as 97-2003. PPT has a choice of 2003 and 2007+  I am not exporting as PPT.

  • Swf file exported from Captivate 2 should pause at each slide, but doesn't always

I have made a tutorial in Captivate 2 and exported it to an
swf format. In Captivate, I had put a button at the end of each
slide to pause it. I have gone back and checked to see if each
slide was correctly paused and it was. When I play it in Flash
Player 8, preview it in Captivate 2, or load it with Flash player 8
in an internet browser, most of the slides function as they should,
but randomly some slides will not pause and will just continue on
to the next one. It is different slides each time it is loaded that
do or don't pause. Does anyone know what the problem is? Is it just
    a bug in Captivate?

  • Exporting from FCP to put in Powerpoint presentation

Hi, folks. I need some help. We're working on a short video (6 min. tops) for our company Christmas party. It includes two songs and lots of still pictures of the employees' kids. Each picture has a caption. We are using motion transitions to spice things up a little.
We've exported it to DVDSP to burn a DVD to import into the boss's PC laptop so that he can put it into his Powerpoint presentation.
Everything plays smoothly and the audio is fine, however the video has a lot of artifacts around the text and also around some of the imported graphics (colored vector drawings of trees, snowflakes, elves, etc.) We tried using a high bit rate, but it made no difference in the quality.
    Any suggestions?

I agree with this response. Since PowerPoint for a Mac will run MOV files, whereas PowerPoint in a PC will not (without jumping thru some difficult hoops), if you have a Mac laptop about, use PowerPoint or, better yet, Keynote. Moreover, DVD's cannot be run in a PowerPoint presentation without some special software.

  • Best way to export from iMovie so that clip will play in Powerpoint on Windows?

Does anyone know the best settings so that a movie exported from iMovie will play in Powerpoint on a Windows machine?  Thanks.

You need one of the more expenseive Flip4Mac options. Flip4Mac Studio, Studio Pro, Studio Pro HD, for example.
Flip4Mac supplies a video component. To do the conversion, you need a tool like QuickTime Pro or Compressor. You take the file you created in iMovie and convert it using QuickTime Pro using the supplied component.
It is possible that a free tool like MPEG Streamclip would do the conversion (after purchasing the Flip4Mac components) but I haven't tried it personally.
You cannot do this conversion from within iMovie. You need to SHARE from iMovie, then convert.

  • How to export a Captivate 8 project to Power Point?

I would like to be able to export my Captivate 8 project to PowerPoint so I can use it in a classroom training session and also be able to print out the slides to use as handouts.  Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks Lillybiri, good tips!  I have a couple of other questions for you:
    1. When I print my handouts it resizes the slides to make them shorter, do you know if there is an option to keep the standard size of the slides?
    2. When you publish to PDF how do you manage the timings without playing the audio?  Obviously the trainer wouldn't teach at the same pace as the audio so there needs to be a way for the trainer to manually advance to the next slide/animation view.
    Thanks,
    Juliette

  • I can't open Keynote documents in Keynote'09 that was exported from the latest Keynote software. Why is that?

I can't open Keynote documents in Keynote'09 that was exported from the latest Keynote software. Why is that?
specifivations of my Mac: MacBook Pro 10.8.5, 2.66GHz INtel Core Duo,
Keynote version installed: Keynote '09 5.3
Thanks a lot for your help,
    Dirk

This work around has always worked, it may make some changes to transitions but better that than be unable to  open.
Export  from version 6 as a PowerPoint, choose PowerPoint 2003 in the in advanced options.
Once you have the PowerPoint file open in Keynote.

  • FPS not matching orginal F4V from Captivate

I have a number of videos that I have exported from Captivate projects and the FPS is different on each one, when I use Adobe Media Encoder to re-encode these videos the FPS does not match the original. I have set the FPS to match the original, but they are a second or two faster. Anyone have any idea why this might be?
I was not sure if this is an issue for the Captivate or AMC forum, but I thought I would start here.

So basically, SnapzPro is unreliable, or at least ProRes coming out of Snapz is.< </div>
Let's call the original file #1 and the CinemaTools output file #2. and the output file from this edit session as #3.
When you view #2, is it coherent? Or does it exhibit the glitches seen in #3?
When you encode #3 again, are the glitches in exactly the same place or are they moving to different locations?
Is there anything odd about #1 that corresponds to the glitches in #3? Scene changes? Are the glitches cyclical?
You might try this on a copy of your project: duplicate file #2 and try relinking your media to the new copy.

  • Insert and play a .swf (from captivate)

I imported a .swf and it comes in broken into 180 frames -
how can I use this in my main timeline without having to insert 180
frames (or more since I'll need to place other .swfs as well)?
Thought I could copy those frames into a new symbol (movie clip?)
and then place that.... just not sure how to do this correctly. It
    doesn't seem to be working.
Also - this .swf is exported from Captivate - any special
file format I should ask for instead?
    Thank you!

Ok - I did that and am adding new frames to the movie clip
(piecing it back together since it imported as six different .swfs
for some reason), so I think I have to keep extending the timeline
to give it enough time to play (?), but unfortunately it doesn't
play a preview for me inside the .fla - I have to test movie each
time. Does that sound normal/right to you? I guess you always have
to add frames in the main timeline to accomodate however many
frames are within the movie clip? (kind of a pain but if it's the
    only way I guess I'll live) :-)

  • About to update to Snow Leopard from Leopard, however, I was told that I will lose access to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.).

About to update to Snow Leopard from Leopard, however, I was told that I will lose access to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc.).  First, is this true?  Second, how have others addressed this lost (i.e. other software programs)?  The cheaper the software package the better with FREE being the ideal.

If you install Snow Leopard, make sure during the install to open the Optional install items. You must turn Rosetta on, which is not installed by default (necessary to run older PowerPC apps such as Office 2004). If you miss the installation of Rosetta, it can still be installed after the fact a couple of ways.

  • Export or copy the chart to  Microsoft Office PowerPoint or Word

I have a page with a dinamic flash chart (in Apex), i need the users could export or copy the chart to Microsoft Office PowerPoint or Word (for example). Is it possible?

I did some research on Oracle BI Publisher.
I found that Advanced configuration(Which include CHARTS) requires a valid license for Oracle BI Publisher.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html
After checking out the above link I am convinced to use a licensed version. I did see your replies in post regrading the BI publisher, (Standalone BI Publisher now available for Windows) Standalone BI Publisher now available for Windows This is in 2007.
I checked the latest prices in BIP way too expensive. Check out BIP in $$$ terms. This is very expensive.
Tony, Is there a way to include dynamic flash charts in Standard version of Oracle BI Publisher? Also I have a dymanic legend created with an Application Process. Can I include this in the word document? Sorry for the question list.. :) Now I want to search my options on how to proceed...
    Thanks,
    Sowji.
