Export gives a nasty red tint

I need some help Please.
I am trying to export a movie from Premiere CS3. The movie looks great when editing, previewing, etc. Whites are super white and color looks good. But the second I go to export, all my whites turn to pink and everything gets saturated with red.
The export preview window even shows a great image, but the actual exported file is horrible.
This problem happens regardless of what file type I'm exporting to. Also, changing compression levels doesn't seem to make any difference. MOV, AVI, Uncompressed - It all turns pink.
I'm using clips from various sources. (after effects, VOB's from a DVD, etc). I've also closed Premiere and started the project over from scratch.
What's happening? And what can I do about it?
Thanks for the help.

Well, In short. Yes, I'm using a standard computer monitor to view the output.
I'm not sure what that has to do with it thought, given the fact that this problem has never happened before. And this isn't the first movie I've exported from Premiere.
Also, I view movies of all different formats on this same monitor and they look fine.
I can export from After Effects just fine with no problems.
Come to think of it though, I did get the same red tint exporting from after effects when I used the DV/DVCPRO compression set at medium.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

  • Strong red tint when exporting with prores

    Hello There,
I'm using 5D Footage that i converted to AppleProRes (HQ) with the compressor and edited it in FCP plus did some grading in Color. Everything looks fine when I export with H.264.
However, I need to export the material with ProRes again because it will be used in Adobe After Effects, so i want to keep a high qualitiy. Now, when i'm exporting from FCP with the prores422(HQ) codec all the midtones have an extremely red tint and the contrast and the saturation is much higher than how i see it in Colors and FCP. Is this some kind of error or is there something i'm doing wrong here?
    THX for ur help!

Prores LT is more than good enough for your 5D footage. You will not get any more quality than is already there by going to ProRes HQ. You will get considerably larger files that might not play back smoothly on your computer.
Humor us and tell us what happens when you run this workflow on a short ProRes LT clip.

  • RAW files give a red tint when processed in photomatix?

What causes or what is the fix, to correct a terrible red tint over HDR photos processed through photomatix 4. It only happens if I process  RAW files from a 5D Mark III, JPEG's process fine.

The internal structure of RAW was changed for 5D3. You should update the program(s) but first ask (or try) to see if the new version of the program supports the new RAW format. It is a common problem with the programs which are based on Dave Coffin's dcraw.
A temporary solution would be to use the Canon's own program which comes with the camera or download a good freeware picture manager / browser (like FastStone Image Viewer - see www.faststone.org ) which supports it and convert the files to JPG (or any other format which Photomatrix reads).

  • Premiere Elements 11 Adding A Red Tint

Premiere Elements 11 is adding a red tint to my video. It is fine before I put the file in elements and on the time line. It is only when I render and save it that the tint appears.
I save in MPEG and use the HD 720p 30 preset. I have included some screenshots of the difference. Also I am recording a game called Minecraft. I used the screen recorder Fraps. Could someone please help me.
Before saving in Premiere Elements 11 (Raw File)
After saving file, The diference is hard to tell here but when playing the video it is noticeable.
    Thanks

    Frosty,
Can you give us the full details of your Video footage. It appears to be from a video screen-cap program, of game play, but I could be wrong. The more detail, the better. Also, please let us know what your Project's Preset is.
Next, how are you comparing the results, where you see that "red tint?"
There can be differences between players, for instance, so knowing exactly where you are seeing your issue, might hold part of the key.
As most video players are not using Color Managed Space, one does not usually see THAT big a difference, than say viewing a Still Image in Photoshop (Color Managed) vs Windows Image/FAX Viewer (non Color Managed). Still, there can be differences between players, for instance, if one views the same Video in WMP (Windows Media Player), I can almost guarantee that it will differ from playing that same Video in Apple's QuickTime Player.
Good luck, and if you need more detail on gathering information on the Video, and the Project, please see this article: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3220274#3220274

  • HP Photosmart 8450 Starts printing with red tint

Printer starts to print with a red tint apprroximately 2/3 of way through an 8 by 10 photo.  I've cleaned contacts several times.  That makes printer work correctly for maybe one print.  Suggestions on how to fix?

Which cartridges are you using?  Try removing the photo cartridge and printing a photo (it will automatically use the color cartridge).  If this is OK then the issue is the photo cartridge running out of light cyan.  If the problem persists then the color cartrdige is running low on cyan and should be replaced.

  • GH2 Raw has red tinted problem, any solution?

I am using GH2 to shoot raw format photos. when I import to aperture. all photos turn red tint.
Anyone facing the same problem and has the solution?

    Thanks Lennart.
The fix you suggested does not fix my Ghost Folder problem.
That said, I finally did find a fix for this problem:
Here's the fix I found, which simply involves selecting Photoshop as an Additional External Editor:
    a) go in your LR2 preferences
    b) under the External Editor tab, under "additional external editor", click on the button CHOOSE and navigate to your Adobe Photoshop folder. Select Photoshop.exe .
    c) ignore LR2 warning that says Photoshop is already configured as your external editor.
    d) now, every time you wish to open a photo in PS from LR, right-click on the photo, select EDIT IN PHOTOSHOP.EXE instead of the first choice (edit in photoshop cs3).
This method will now create a duplicate PSD file right away of your photo in the correct folder. No more Ghost Folder problem. OF course, this means that every time you open a photo in PS, you now have a PSD file in your folder (as opposed to LR2's feature which allows you (normally) to open a photo in PS, and it won't appear as a PSD in your folder until you actually save the file in PS). So we could say this "fix" behaves pretty much the same way LR1.x used to handle opening files in PS.

  • Red tinted LCD

    Hi -
Yesterday I was working back stage at a theatre, and my Macbook was in my briefcase.  I set it down for an hour while I did some work on stage, and when I started it up back at home, noticed that there is a red tint/haze over the left-hand side of the screen.
It must be the LCD - because the HD is fine and when an external monitor is attached, the coloration is fine as well.
I don't know exactly what happened - I wonder if I accidentally let my briefcase rest too close to a massive power source (although, in that case, I wonder why the screen was affected but not the HD).
I have read that LCD screens can't be degaussed - but that HD's can.  If I were to wipe my HD would I be able to have my LCD back to normal?  Is there anything else I can try?
    Thanks.

i'm not sure but i think if you wipe out your hard drive won't do any good to your LCD, you have some corrupted pixels in your lcd best thing you can do take it to apple store if you have apple care and ask them to change the LCD

  • Dreamcolor LP2480zx monitor showing red tint in every inputs

Hi, I recently obtained this monitor from someone else and when I first power it on, I noticed that it is showing a red tint. At first, I suspect that someone was playing around with the settings so I did a factory reset. Nothing changed. Then I suspect that the DVI cable isn't plugged in properly, Checked it on both ends, used another cable, tried it with various machines and even tried using the HDMI port; results are still the same. Though when I went into the settings and changed the colour profile to one setting and it fixed it for a short time till the problem reoccurs.
I know that it wouldn't be the GPUs in each machine, because my other monitors said so otherwise.
Just for comparision sake and to show what I mean, here are 2 identical images:
This one is from the HP:
And this one is from a perfectly working monitor:
So I began to suspect that the inverter is failing inside the monitor. Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hello @Arrowtoknee,
I understand that after performing a factory reset and changing the cables on your HP Monitor you are still getting a red tinge to everything. The issue you are describing appears to be a physical issue and I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.
I would like to thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Red Tint to iMac G5 Screen

    So here is my story...
When I first acquired this iMac G5 the screen did not work at all. I proceeded to replace all of the capacitors on the motherboard (since this model has been plagued with leaking/bulging capacitors) and am now able to see the screen; however, there is a fuzzy red tint to the screen. Occasionally the screen looses the fuzzy characteristic and turns to a blue tint.
Does anyone know if this problem is being caused by the capacitors still (might one or two of the ones I replaced be loose?) or is it a problem with the graphics chip?
    Here are the tech specs...
    17" iMac G5 (EMC: 1989)
    1.8 GHz PowerPC
    1 GB DDR SDRAM
    Mac OS X 10.4.11
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!

    Hello!
When I had the blue tint problem the solution was:
    Launch System Preference.
    Select Display.
    Select the highest resolution.
    Close Display Pane.
    Close System Preference.
That worked. Hope that works for you.

  • Mountain Lion showing red tints over images, thumbnails and buttons

Hello everyone, I've been having an issue ever since I updated to mountian lion a few weeks ago.
Images are showing up with red tints over them for no reason, and I'm not sure what's going on.
    Here is a few examples.

  • Importing into iPhoto, Pictures Have Red Tint

This has gotten progressively worse over time...
I have .NEF files that are created using a Nikon D90 camera in a folder.  In the past these images would import successfully into iPhoto.  By import, I do NOT create a second image inside the iPhoto library but simply have iPhoto create a link to the image in the folder.
Now all of the photos I have imported have a RED TINT to them.  Here's what I have found:
    1.  When the .NEF is imported into iPhoto it has a RED TINT
    2.  When I go to the folder, and press the space bar to preview the file, the photo has a RED TINT.
    3.  When I go into Photoshop, the photo shows up in it's proper color.
What seems the be the problem here?  This was not the case when I first began using iPhoto '11 with my .NEF files.  Any thoughts?

Thanks for replying Lennart, but the problem I'm having is with still photos being imported from iPhoto, not video clips. There are no transitions or titles involved. I was simply importing some photos and planned to go back to add transitions.
I thought about it while at work today and realized that the photos I was trying to add to the timeline were 1) all scanned, and 2) possibly bitmap format. So I started playing with it again when I got home. Sure enough, the bitmap photos import with a red filter look, jpegs do not. To verify this premise even more I duplicated a bitmap photo and then converted it to jpeg. Sure enough, the red filter appears when I import the bitmap image but not on the jpeg.
Why? Beats me. Maybe some of the more technical folk have an explanation. Thankfully I don't have that many bitmap images and I will simply convert those that are.
One more note, out of curiosity I decided to try importing a still RAW photo to an iMovie. The image shows beautifully in iMovie but in the timeline in shows as a black frame. I wouldn't ordinarily import a RAW image, I was just curious.

  • How do I remove red tint from pictures on Firefox?

Anytime I surf the web in Internet Explorer or Chrome, pictures look normal. But when I search the web half of the time pictures have a red tint to them. Also if I upload a normal picture from my hard drive to a website through Firefox it will turn the picture a red tint. I can take a screencap of this if you need me to. How do I fix this?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== A year ago, no idea what triggered it.

This can be caused by a problem with the color profile for your display monitor or color profiles embedded in images.
You can disable color management to test that.
You can set the pref '''gfx.color_management.mode''' to ''0'' on the ''about:config'' page to disable Color Management.
You need to close and restart Firefox or maybe even reboot the computer to make the change effective.

  • IPhoto pictures have red tint

I've just upgraded to iLife '06. When I try to import from iPhoto to iMovie some of the pictures take on a red tint, as if a red filter is applied. Initially I thought it was just the B&W photos but now I've noticed it with some color photos too. The pictures are fine in iPhoto. The only commonality I can see is that the pictures are scanned but not all scanned pictures do it. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I saw one post about clips taking on some interesting hues and the writer said the problem went away.
Incidentally, I cleaned my Caches file thinking there might be some remanent from iLife '05 but that didn't help.
    Thanks.
