Export/import login server and user grup security

Hi,
I followed the instructions to export Login server, user group
security using the ssoexp.csh, secexp.csh. Then I imported the
login server, and user group security using the ssoimp.csh,
secimp.csh .
I then logged into Portal and check the users, all the users are
imported properly. However, I didn't see any group that are
supposed to be imported. Do I missing anything?
The syntax to run the secimp is as follows:
secimp.csh -s portal30 -p portal30 -o portal30 -m reuse -d
sec.dmp -c target_database
The import finished w/o error. How can I see the groups in the
new portal instance that I tried to import objects in?
I noticed that the wwsec_group$ in the source area is over 3000,
and in the target the count is only 10, which is the number of
group I have before the import. But during the export, I don't
see the wwsec_group$ table being exported, is that the problem?
P.S. versions are: 9iAS 1.0.2, portal version 3.0.9.8 on solaris.

Hi Melanie,
There is no export/import functionality for roles and users. The only way to manage these in an automated way would be to write a program that uses the Java or ABAP APIs. Both APIs expose functionality to create, update and delete roles and users.

Importing login server objects

1. Can we import login server objects into a login server instance that performs
authentication against a LDAP repository ? If so how ? Doesn't the
ssoimp.csh script import objects only into the login server schema ? We are using 3.0.6.6.5 version of the portal.
2. How do we export partner application and external application
configuration information since this is not a part of the export of the
login server schema ?

Could not post response in the Oracle9i AS Portal Security and Login Server form.
Login Server export-import will only migrate the user information found in sso repository. LDAP repository will need to be migrated before the user can authenticate. Also note that during export only the user information is extracted - the fact that these users are authenticated against LDAP is not in the extracted information. During import, the login server import will import the users and create the default passwords for them. However, the configuration of the login server on the target side will decide if these local authenication is used or LDAP is used - if the target is also configured to use LDAP there should be no problem. Also application information is not migrated.
Short answer:
1. Yes. You need to migrate ldap information manually (or perhaps the two share the same ldap server?) then do login server export-import.
2. partner application and external applications are not currenly supported in export-impor - they have to be recreated manually (and reassociated appropriately).

What version of Muse are you using? If it's not 2014.2, please go to the Creative Cloud Desktop App or creative.adobe.com and update.
The FTP login failure is most likely due to your host not supporting FTP Extended Passive Mode. In Muse 2014.2 switch to "Passive (PASV)" in the Connect to FTP Server dialog.
Regarding performance, how large is your site (in pages and megabytes)? How many Design view tabs are open? What specific operations are slow?
If you'd like to send your .muse file, I'll take a look and attempt to isolate the cause of slow performance. Please send me the .muse file at [email protected] along with a link to this thread. Set-up with different urls for login server and mid-tier

The desired external host names are the following:
Portal -> http://www.myportal.com
Login Server -> http://www.login.com
The real (internal) host names are the following:
midtier -> midtier.xyz.com
infrastructure-> infra.xyz.com
How should the Oracle HTTP Server, Login/SSO server, portal be configured with this type of set-up?
In particular, what should be in the httpd.conf, dads.conf, mod_osso.conf files and which values should be passed to the ssocfg and ptlasst scripts? Does the DAS url need to have the internal or external host name?

How should the scenario described above be integrated into the instructions below? $HOSTNAME may refer to the internal or external midtier or infrastructure machine name. Which should be used?

Login Problems and General JSP Security Questions

I'm new to this, so I'm still not sure if I'm approaching this problem the right way. But after a user logs in with the correct username/password, I create a session attribute like so:
session.setAttribute("loggedIn", "true");
Now, inside of every other JSP page I make the following check before the user can continue:

Unfortunately, this doesn't work very well. It seems to be very inconsistent. Does anyone know of a better, not-so-difficult, method to do this? Or do you see any problems with what I have?
Another thing, how do I prevent a user from accessing my JSP directory? For example, I have my JSPs stored in public_html/jsp directory, how do I prevent someone from simply visiting www.mysite.com/jsp without using the web.xml file?

I use sessions in this way without any problems, what are the inconsistencies??
You can protect folders with Tomcat security but it requires XML configuration.

How to export/import new SCV and products?

Hi,
I have created a new product, product version, software component and software component version in the SLD.
Now I need to import that to another XI system with a different SLD. The product, product version etc. is unknown in the target XI system.
How/What do I have to export all these new things?
If I try to export/import the SCV, I get the following message during import:
"The target namespace for the special import already contains data for one or more export lines. Continuing this import may corrupt the state of your data.
Import CIM models and data to the current namespace: sld/active (Database).
Ensure that this import will not cause an inconsistent state of your data.
If you are uncertain about the consequences of this import, you should cancel it. "
Do I need more export/import steps? That means: First the product, than the product version, than the SV and finally the SVC?

Configuring roles and users (adf security) application context wise.

Dear All,
I referred this tutorial (http://biemond.blogspot.com/2008/12/using-database-tables-as-authentication.html) which shows how to hook up adf security with database schema but at domain level which will be common to all applications in that domain. I want to make it different to each application. (i.e each application will use differene database schema for storing user credientials i.e enterprise roles,application roles and users.)
Can any one please point me to proper way..

Instead you have a single identity management system and have the application policies being different for the applications.Using ADF Security, users and groups can have different privileges in different applications

How to export/Import default prefs and object styles with no project open?

I would like to export my preferences and object styles with no projects open and them import them on my team's machines so that no matter what project we create, we all start from the SAME set of defaults. When I open captivate and check both with no projects open, there is no ability to import/export. I know I could open a project and export, but then importing is an issue.
I'm using CP8 on a Windows 8.1 64 bit machine.

After a fresh install I start by editing the Preferences globally, that means by using Edit, Preferences before opening any project (like switching to Expert UI, default language, replacing feedback captions by shapes). There is indeed no way to import preferences from a specific file. I will do the same for some object styles (like creating a blank Highlight box for audio objects). You can only export/import from and to a project, same like for all Library assets.
However the Object styles: they are part of the default theme, along with their theme colors, master slides and skin. You cannot edit everything without having a project open. I would recommend to create a custom theme in a project, in which you have all the wanted object styles. Changing the theme colors (you can have a custom theme color palette) will change partially colors of the objects. Once you set that theme as default theme, you'll have all the object styles in the projects that use the default theme.
To transfer Preferences, custom themes to another machine, maybe this article could help you out. It was written for a different purpose, but you'll find the location of a lot of files that you could transfer in this post:

HT4519 Unknown SMTP server and user name in my Ipods mail settings???

I have an ipod touch 4th and four yahoo email accounts set up on it. My primary smtp server is yahoo smtp. Now i recently checked my email account settings in "SETTINGS" and noticed that under my primary smtp server is a catagory called "Other SMTP Servers" and underneath that shows "smtp.aol.com". So, curiously, i clicked through to see the "Outgoing Mail Server" category which lists Smtp.aol.com as the host name and "on**********[email protected]" as the user name. Now I have used that user name with yahoo before but i do not have and aol account! And I certainly didn't add these settings myself. What could this mean??

I know that the SMTP server settings are correct as they work correctly for the work email account. The home account (that is not working) uses these same settings.
In the iPad OS when you go into the Mail settings and click through to the menus to get to the SMTP servers there is a primary smtp server specified this is globally used across all the mail accounts. As I say I know that my settings for this are correct as it works for the work account.
I have however taken your advice and confirmed with my service provider and re-entered all the smtp settings to this primary server and the iPad confirms that all the details are verified, however I still get the same problem with the work emails sending correctly and the home ones stuck in the outbox. To me it appears that the problem is not with logging onto the smtp server the problem is with the iPad actually sending the message to server.
Any other suggestions?

Why login keychain and user keychain

Hi,
I am trying to dianose a keychain problem my little home network is having and realize I don't quite have the knowledge to get started. My first, very basic question is, why do I have both a login keychain and a "user" keychain. Which is unlocked automatically when I login? What is the point of both of them?

I have a home net with several G4/G5 machines all running 10.4. I "sync" the keychains on the various user accounts via .Mac.
Keychain Access shows that I have four keychains; tom, login, system and X4509Anchors. In my library/keychain folder I have two files: login.keychain and tom (with out an extension). I did not specifically create the tom keychain.
I am trying to understand why I have a tom keychain. I am also trying to understand which unlocks automatically.
The reason I ask this is periodically one of the machines (it varies) on the network will have keychain problems and request that a keychain be unlocked or require manual entry of a password. This normally only happens with Apple's Mail application and on occasion when connnecting to a networked machine.
Curiously, when I "correct" the problem on one machine (usually by deleting a keychain) the problem will often move (probably whily syncing with .Mac) to another machine.

Datpump Export,Import across lower and higher versions

Versions involved : 10.2.0.4, 11.2.0.3
Operating System : AIX 6.1
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Lets say I export a schema in a 11.2 Database using 11.2 expdp .
Can I import the above dump (11.2) to a 10.2 Database using 10.2 impdp ?

Setting VERSION=10.2 worked fine for me.
Since I was curious, I tested taking a table level export dump from 11.2.0.3 Schema using 11.2.0.3 expdp without VERSION parameter. I succesfully managed to import those tables to a 10.2.0.2 schema needless to say using 10.2.0.2 impdp.
I don't know how this worked . Maybe export,importing from higher to lower version at schema level might fail. Need to test it when I have time.

Using a variable not in the Export,Import, table Parameters in USER EXIT

During the Invoice Creation, I need to add an entry in the VBFS table, so that it will be displayed in the system log. In the FM 'RV_INVOICE_CREATE', the structure corresponding to it is XVBFS. There is a user-exit CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '002', in this FM 'RV_INVOICE_CREATE'. But the import, export or Table Parameters does not have XVBFS.
How can I use XVBFS inside the User exit?..

FIELD-SYMBOLS: <komv>.
ASSIGN ('(SAPLMEPO)TKOMV[]') TO <komv>.
where.. SAPLMEPO is the main program...and TKOMV[] is a internal table in SAPLMEPO.

Domain and User Level Security

Dear Friends
Tuxedo Version : 8.0
Weblogic Server: 7.0
Operating System : Win 2000
I have successfully run the simpapp example with WTC as the connector between
the remote domain (tuxedo) and local domain (WLS).
Now, i want to perform authentication, the documents are not being of much help
so can anybody give me any suggestion to create domain level security and ACL.
Please note, i'm just using the services (import).
As per the documents and newsgroup,
i made changes to the TUXEDO ENVIRNMENT, ubbdomain, adding SECURITY , AUTHSERV
parameters in it.
Also made respective changes in WTC, but when i run the example,
it throws an exception as TPENOENT.
Thank you in anticipation.

Export & import between 32bit and 64bit windows

I need to move a schema over from a 32-bit windows machine to a 64-bit windows machine.
both machines are network mapped,
so
I exp it out from 32 machine
copy and paste from 32 to 64 machines
then imp into 64 machine
and get this error
IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
machine oracle utilities are:
Export: Release 10.2.0.1.0
Import: Release 10.2.0.1.0
help please.

Are you using original exp/imp or data pump?
exp/imp should be able to handle 32bit to 64bit transport.
It's either your dump file got corrupted during transfer.
Or your database server is not same version as your utilities. Please verify and post your Oracle server version.
