I'm trying to export default user SCOTT to DMP file.
But error occured. Some kind of character conversion error.
This is the log generated:
Connected to: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
JServer Release 9.2.0.1.0 - Production
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set
server uses AL32UTF8 character set (possible charset conversion)
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 942 encountered

How if I dont have 9.2 DB?You have attempted to export from one above...?
Can you skip the TOAD util and just log on to the server and run exp from there?
Another option would involve downloading the 9.2 Database Client (9i Downloads) and install on a nearby PC, or if you have one with 9.2 already installed, and export from there.
Any tricks to export user from different version of
DB instance? (Is it a must that having same version
of DB to exp-imp?)No tricks. The rule is: to export from lower to higher, you must use the lower versions exp tool. (Then use target version of imp for importing. The key is to get the exp dump of correct version and format.)
NB: while
C:\>dir c:\exp.exe / s
Volume in drive C is Disk_C
Volume Serial Number is 347F-B884
only return thatIt's searching, give it (plenty of) time.

  • ** File Content Conversion Error in Receiver CC - How to solve this?

    Hi friends,
    My target structure looks like below.
    EmployeeJobDetails                                        --> Message Type
       JobCode                                                      --> Node
            EmployeeNumber            xsd:string
            Domain                           xsd:string
       JobTrack                                                     --> Node
             Department                    xsd: string
             Position                         xsd: string
    I use the FCC parameters in the receiver CC as below:
    Recordset Structure:    JobCode,JobTrack
    JobCode.fieldSeparator = |
    JobCode.endSeparator = 'nl'
    JobTrack.fieldSeparator = |
    JobTrack.endSepartor = 'nl'.
    Because, we want the output like below
    1099|Raja
    Accts|JuniorAccountant
    1100|Ram
    HR|Recruiter
    like this.
    In this scenario Source is XML and target is txt file.
    I am using XSLT Mapping. The FCC works fine, if my source input file contains some records. But, when we send empty source XML file as below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <EMPLOYEE_DATA/>
    Mapping works fine. Message is processed successfully in SXMB_MONI. The payload in response also comes with Message Type name like below
    <EmployeeJobDetails    namespace >
    </EmployeeJobDetails>
    While convert this, the system throws below error.
    Error Message:
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure '' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)': java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'Conversion configuration error: Unknown structure '' found in document', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)'
    Friend, how to convert this when source XML is empty.
    But, if we remove JobTrack node in target strucutre and remove the JobTrack parameters in CC, then if we send the same empty XML file FCC is working  fine and  we  get the target text file 0 KB. (Amazing !!)
    But, in the first case, how to solve the issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Jegathees P.

    Hi friends,
    If we remove JobTrack node in target strucutre and remove the JobTrack parameters in CC, then if we send the <b>same empty XML file</b> FCC is working fine and<b> we get the target text file 0 KB</b>. (Amazing !!)
    But, if we give parameters like JobCode,JobTrack then send pass the same empty file, we face the problem 'File Content Conversion' Error.

    Hi la recruiter,
    There are a few types of files that Acrobat can't convert--and PDF files with security applied is one on them. I'm happy to cancel your subscription, if you decide that it's not going to work out for you. Please confirm that you'd like me to proceed with the cancelation, and I'll take care of it right away.

    I think the problem is with special characters in the input XML file. If I don't have special characters in XML file then it works fine.
    Anyway here is the XSLT code. This is a generic XSLT code which I used from one of the examples

  • MDM 7.1.4 SP4 don't Export Repository Schema

    Hi,
    I am using SRM-MDM Catalog3.0 ,  MDM 7.1 SP04 , in console ,  to operate  Export Repository Schema failed.
    MDS log:
    Could not transport expression because it contained a non-transportable element: 'Item Status [Approved]'
    Assignment Code='Set_Status_Code13' of Table Code='MDMSRM_CATALOG_ITEMS' requires additional steps before transport.
    how to solve?
    thanks in advance
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,
    Please refer SAP Note: 1385073:
    In the Note>Navigate to General>Note the following
    1. A code field was added for Validations and Assignments. All repositories must undergo verify/repair before loading for
    the first time in MDM 7.1 SP04 so that the added codes for Validations and Assignments are implemented.
    2. Validations and assignments from previous versions that contain lookup values will need modifying before the repository schema can be transported as the lookup values in expressions will now internally include the lookup table ID in addition to the value itself. This change was made to ensure that expressions with lookup values are transported correctly.
    In order to modify these expressions you will need to load the repository and delete all the referenced lookup values from
    each expression and then add them back into the expressions. If you try to transport the repository schema before modifying
    the expressions, you will receive a transport error and a message will be generated in the MDS.log stating the assignments or validations that need to be updated.

  • Error while impdp: ORA-02374: conversion error loading table

    Hi,
    I am trying to convert the character set from WE8ISO8859P1 to AL32UTF8 using expdp/impdp. for this I first convert WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8MSWIN1252 in source DB to get rid of “lossy” data. I created new database(target) with character set AL32UTF8 and nls_length_semantics = ’CHAR’ and created all the tablespaces as in source DB with auoexend on. I took full export (expdp) of source DB excluding TABLESPACE,STATISTICS,INDEX,CONSTRAINT,REF_CONSTRAINT and imported using impdp to target DB. I found below error in the import log file:
    ORA-02374: conversion error loading table "SCTCVT"."SPRADDR_CVT"
    ORA-26093: input data column size (44) exceeds the maximum input size (40)

    I checked with select query on both DBs with below results.
    source DB:
    04:58:42 SQL> select count(*) from "SCTCVT"."SPRADDR_CVT";

    SPRADDR_REVIEWED_USER VARCHAR2(30 CHAR)
    CONVERT_REVIEWED_USER VARCHAR2(30 CHAR)
    SPRADDR_DATA_ORIGIN VARCHAR2(30 CHAR)
    CONVERT_DATA_ORIGIN VARCHAR2(30 CHAR)
    SPRADDR_CVT_RECORD_ID NUMBER(8)
    SPRADDR_CVT_STATUS VARCHAR2(1 CHAR)
    SPRADDR_CVT_JOB_ID NUMBER(8)
    so here we can see its value is 40 (CONVERT_STREET_LINE1 VARCHAR2(40 CHAR)).
    shall i go ahead altering the column?

  • Using dbms_datapump package to export the schema with the schema name as pa

    Hi,
    I am using the pl/sql block to export schema using dbms_datapump package,Now I want to pass the scheme name as the parameter to the procedure and get the .dmp and .log files with the schema name included.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE export
    IS
    h1 number;
    begin
    h1 := dbms_datapump.open (operation => 'EXPORT', job_mode => 'SCHEMA', job_name => 'export1', version => 'COMPATIBLE');
    dbms_datapump.set_parallel(handle => h1, degree => 1);
    dbms_datapump.add_file(handle => h1, filename => 'EXPDAT.LOG', directory => 'DATA_PUMP_DIR', filetype => 3);
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'KEEP_MASTER', value => 0);
    dbms_datapump.metadata_filter(handle => h1, name => 'SCHEMA_EXPR', value => 'IN(''CHECKOUT'')');
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'ESTIMATE', value => 'BLOCKS');
    dbms_datapump.add_file(handle => h1, filename => 'EXPDAT%U' || to_char(sysdate,'dd-mm-yyyy') || '.DMP', directory => 'DATA_PUMP_DIR', filetype => 1);
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'INCLUDE_METADATA', value => 1);
    dbms_datapump.set_parameter(handle => h1, name => 'DATA_ACCESS_METHOD', value => 'AUTOMATIC');
    dbms_datapump.start_job(handle => h1, skip_current => 0, abort_step => 0);
    dbms_datapump.detach (handle => h1);
    exception
    when others then
    raise_application_error(-20001,'An error was encountered - '||SQLCODE||' -ERROR- '||SQLERRM);
    end;
    Thank you in advanced

    EXCEPTION handler is a bug waiting to happen.
    eliminate it entirely

  • Arithmetical errors or conversion errors found in routine ROUTINE_0011

    Hi,
    I am having a problem when trying to load a cube from an DSO. In the PSA 90 record appears with the error "Arithmetical errors or conversion errors found in routine ROUTINE_0011 record XXX"
    I simulated and debbug the load and this routine have the code:
    RESULT = ( COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/zom_icoci
      / COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/zom_icnrv ) * c_hundred.
    I know that the field COMM_STRUCTURE-/bic/zom_icnrv can come with value zero and return me the msg error but I saw that none of the 90 fields are zero (value <> 0) in the DSO. And besides there are others records equals to the records with error that not generate the arithmetical error.
    Could you help me to solve this problem?
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Check if the c_hundred variable has same type as that of two keyfigures used in the formula.

  • Character conversion error

    Hi all,
    We are getting the following error when trying to parse an xml string resource - Character conversion error: "Illegal ASCII character, 0xc2" (line number may
    be too low)-. We have not been able to get around this. We have tried creating the InputSource two different ways:
    reader = new StringReader(stringSource);
    src = new InputSource( reader );
    and
    src = new InputSource(new InputStreamReader(new ByteArrayInputStream(stringSource.getBytes())));
    The problem does appear to go away if we treat the DTD we are validating against as a file. If we set it has a uri, we get the above problem.
    Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

    Hi,
    2 possible solutions:
    1) try using the xerces parser instead of sun's parser
    2) look at the posting at the following url and see wether the posted solution solves your problem: http://forums.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=34&thread=67558
    Hope this helps,
    Kurt.
