Export to .m2t ?

Premiere Elements 8 can export 1080i/30 AVCHD to .m2t file format (1080i/30 H264).
I don't see any option for Premiere Pro CS5 to do this. Am I missing it or is there another suggestion? They both use the MainConcept H.264 codec, but Premiere Pro typically uses .m4v when selecting the H264 output formats. Can Premiere Pro CS5 export to .m2t file formats?

I'm still using CS4 and I do this routinely; however, one thing...is there any way to desigate the bit
rate on this setting - from what I can see there is just one option for 4MBPS and it cannot be changed.
Any ideas?
Jim.

  • We can't export as .m2ts files?? how can i retain full quality?

so we can import .m2ts files into CS4, we can edit them in CS4, but we can't export them out of CS4?
how can I retain full quality?

i see, well i have the hdr-sr12. you can export to h264 blu-ray, then do the following - NTSC, 1920x1080, framerate(mostly you would want 29.97), Field order: UPPER, Profile: HIGH, LEVEL 4.0, VBR-2-pass: 16mbps target rate with max of 18mbps. After that, export and see how it looks like on VLC or windows media player.

  • Exporting an .M2T for Avid

    Hey all,
We're trying out a new tapeless workflow to get our two shows ready for broadcast. We currently edit in FCP in ProRes 422, export a ProRes from there, use Compressor to encode that as Avid DNxHD and drop it off at the local closed-captioning studio. They work completely in Avid on Windows XP. That's worked okay so far, but our closed-captioning guy charges us for the time it takes to import that DNxHD. That's been adding up.
He's suggested we give him an .m2t file (He says it can be brought into Avid without a problem) -- which Compressor can make just fine. Only problem is, Avid chokes on that, saying it's unable to read the MPEG file.
Has anyone here had experience exporting to Avid from Final Cut Pro? Or maybe can share a Compressor droplet that has the right .m2t settings?
    Thanks!

ask him for a sample .m2t file that works and see if you can figure out the settings.

  • Export to .m2t constant bit rate

I need to export out of FCP a film as an mpeg transport stream, file prefix .m2t i'm currently using compressor 3.0.5 but it will only give me variable bit rate for out put which is no good. Can anyone tell me if compressor 3.5 corrects this problem or if there is a third party piece of software that I could use ? I looked at lumiere hd but i'm not sure if they are still in business.
    export setting are as follows.
1920 x 1080 progressive, at a constant bit rate of 15 or 20 mbps per sec.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Wally, it may come to that. Today I bought the up grade hoping that this would solve the problem but no just the same if I want to compress a HD file, into a .m2t file it still greys out the CBR option. A friend who has a similar system and was working in FCP 6.0.3 was able to produce them but said it was a bit involved, gave me a copy of one of his saved settings. I opened it in compressor and in the inspector summary it read as you would hope. However when I clicked on the inspector tabs, it defaulted to VBR. ***! Don't really know what to think. What could be effecting the changing of settings in compressor in such a way. I checked the preferences but there was nothing there that stood out as being relevant .... I thought about doing a total clean install but it seems rather extreme and without guarantee of sorting it.

  • How to export m2t or m2ts with smart rendering technology using CS4 SDK?

Hi, I'd like to export my m2t/m2ts files without re-encoding, how should I do? Could you give some demo samples?
       Thanks.

Hi Zac Lam, thank you for your response.
I ask that question doesn't mean I must stick with CS4 SDK, just because my computer is out of date now, but it will be upgraded someday when I get enought money.
You've gave me the valuable information on exporting m2t/m2ts files with smart rendering technology. I know such coding procedure is a very complicated one, but if you give me some more detailed information, It would be greatly appreciated.

  • Horizontal Lines on Exported Video

I have a problem where the video I export displays strange horizontal lines on moving objects.  Let me expand.  My source video is shot on a Sony HDV device generating clips of 1440x1080i 1.333 ratio with 25fps.  The video is displayed fine within PE9 and any exported video as M2T at 1440 x1080 (H.264 preset) also displays fine.  However, I also wish to create Windows Media (WMV) exports but the exported video is subject to horizontal banding.  I have tried various settings including modifying the preset HD 720p 25 to including interlaced processing and manually setting aspect ratios but the same thing happens.  This also happens with the AVI preset.
As suggested by the help I also adjusted the clip settings before export to include "reverse field dominance" and "Interlace consecutive frames" but that made things worse.
I'm sure this will have something to do with interlacing settings somewhere.  Can anyone help?  An example of the video is below:

@ Steve - to answer your questions:
Yes, HDV tape, shot on a Sony HDR HR1CE on Sony HDV tape
Yes, project settings set exactly the same as the source format - PAL | HDV | HDV 1080i 25
    Yes, over firewire using PE9
Imported clips are trimmed as required, inserted into project, a title added (from the templates), some video and audio transitions applied between clips and that's it really.  Haven't used any advanced settings.
As I say looks fine (i.e no interlacing) in the preview and when exported as M2T H.264.  Interlacing occurs with other share presets.  I don't believe what I'm attempting should require me to use any 3rd party exporters or software as PE9 should have no problem.

  • Can't import M2TS with LPCM audio. Video OK, Audio not.

I have M2TS file with H.264 1440x1080i 29.97 25Mbps CBR video stream and 2-channel LPCM Audio stream. When I import the file to Premiere or Encore, the video comes up ok, buth the audio portion sounds like static noise. If I demux the M2TS file into *.M4V video file and *.WAV audio file and import them seperately and then join on the timeline everything works just fine. Any suggestions?
Also, not sure if it's related, but the M2TS file has a choppy/blocky playback in the preview monitor. When stepping manually frame by frame everything looks OK. If I export the M2TS file, the video playback is good. I've seen other people posting about the same problem, so I assume this is a common problem and all I can do is wait for some updates, correct?
    My PC Specs: Q6600, 8GB Ram, Quadro FX580, Vista64bit

The material comes from CS4 media encoder output. This is how.
Master Source Clips: HDV 1440x1080i, 29.97
Edited in CS4 and output via media encoder to
    H.264, 1440x1080i, 29.97, Upper, High 4.1, CBR 25Mbps, LPCM, No Muxing
After the encode M4V and WAV streams muxed into M2TS via TSMuxer.
I then took the file and tried to import it to Premiere and let it conform. That's where I experience the problem.
I just tried another test. I took the original HDV project and exported via the same settings (explained above), except I've changed LPCM to AC3. This time the audio plays fine in Premiere. So it sounds like Premiere does not like LPCM inside of M2TS.
Regarding the video playback, the weird thing is that when I preview the file in premiere and it's blocky (just a little bit), my CPU utilization shows only about 20%. I would have thought that if my machine couldn't keep up it would be higher. Btw. playback of H.264 outside of Premiere is superb, also only with small CPU usage.
I generate the M2TS H.264 output for two reasons:
    1. Playback via PC and PS3
    2. Have a reasonably small and high quality backup copy of the project output. Since there is no losless HDV export, I figured H.264 export at 25Mbps is a better alternative then MPEG2 25Mbps export. I'm not considering any 3rd party plugins or losless codecs, etc. Just trying to have something reasonable for non-pro use.
The M2TS file allows me to accomplish both 1) and 2) with one file. I also backup my project file and HDV source, but it's good to know that I have an additional backup in the compiled M2TS file.
I'm testing the M2TS editing in case I do ever loose the orignal project files and need to resort to M2TS editing.

  • H.264 .m2t high bit rate playback problem ...

I'm still coming up to speed on some of basic video concepts so bare with me.   I have a 9 minute 1280x720 video; 59.94; source came from a Contour+ bike helmet type camera that stores .mov/H.264; separate audio track from MP3 files.   I exported an .m2t file file using the H.264 Blu-ray format/preset.   Besides checking TS multiplexing, the only other items I changed from the default were Maximum Render Quality and VBR, 2 pass.   This file plays fine on my PC with Windows Media Player.
Next I went down the layman's road of thinking higher bit rate = more information per second = higher quality and slid the target bit rate all the way to the right to 35, which in turn adjusted the max bit rate to 35 as well.   VBR 2-pass, max render, etc. still applied.   When I go to play this .m2t file under WMP it chokes and jerks.
I just wanted to ensure this result is expected and not some issue with my hardware or software configuration or other underlying systemic issue.  I was expecting this file to play just like the other one above.   Feedback?
I have a new PC that followed the VideoGuys DIY9 spec closely: i7 3930, 32GB, GTX670, WD Caviar Black RAID0, etc.
    Thanks

WMP overall is a pretty unreliable media player IMO. The media players I tend to stick with are VLC,Splash Lite and KMplayer. In my experince sometimes with interlaced footage VLC doesn't play it back very well if it's a scene that has a lot of movement regardless of how you tweak it's deinterlace filters/options etc. So in those cases I use one of my other media players.
Basically what I'm saying is that no media player is perfect for every scenario although WMP is certainly my least favorite.

  • PE13 Audio Stutter on Export to AVCHD

PE13 users, I need a bit of advice on troubleshooting an export of some HD video to AVCHD. Coming from PowerDirector 12, I just purchased PE13 and am experimenting with the software. Several video clips shot via Sony camcorder 1920x1080 60i 30 FPS, none more than about 2 minutes each, for a total of about 7 minutes. I've imported these clips into a new PD13 project, added a few transitions, and exported as M2T - H264 1920x1080i 30 (audio setting: Dolby Digital, 192 kbps, 48  kHz, Stereo). Video looks great, however, audio stutters a bit in some places, a lot in others, and plays fine for stretches. It should be noted that I exported even longer video of similar settings via PowerDirector and have not experienced any audio stutter ever.
When I export this same project as MP4 - H264 1920x1080p 30 (audio setting: AAC, 160 kbps, 48  kHz, Stereo) the audio plays flawlessly.
Are there any settings that may eliminate this stuttering when exporting as M2T - H264? It looks like I may be able to reduce the kbps of the M2T file to 160, but would rather not if it wouldn't make any difference anyway. I'll experiment when I get home to see if lowering kbps helps, but in the meantime, any other advice would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

I would say go with the AVCHD.mp4
But consider you can take your Timeline to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc using
    Publish+Share
    Disc
    Blu-ray
and have a choice of Presets
    Presets
    H.264 1440 x 1080i NTSC Dolby
    H.264 1440 x 1080i PAL Dolby
    H.264 1440 x 1080p NTSC Dolby NEW
    H.264 1920 x 1080i NTSC Dolby
    H.264 1920 x 1080i PAL Dolby
    H.264 1920 x 1080p NTSC Dolby NEW
The 1080p ones have frame rate of 23.97 progressive frames per second. The 1080i have are either
25 interlaced frames per second or 29.97 interlaced frames per second depending on NTSC or PAL.
If you want to export to file saved to the computer hard drive, a good choice in your case for a later burn to Blu-ray disc format on Blu-ray disc
    would be
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    AVCHD
    with Presets = MP4 H.264 1920 x 1080p30
You cannot customize the burn to presets. But, you can customize the preset for the export to file saved to the computer hard drive.
But, those settings will be overwritten in the encoding process in the burn to process to give you the format cited above.
Please let us know if that targets your question.
    Thank you.

  • Bad Quality blu ray disc, no matter what settings I use.

I hope somebody has a solution for this issue:
I exported a .m2t file from premiere using the mainconcept pro hd plugin. the video is a 1920 x 1080i 29.97 fps .m2t video at the highest mpeg quality settings on the plugin. The file its 29 gigs on size and looks great when played back directly, it is 1 hour and 45 minutes long. Then I imported the file to encore cs3 and made a nice set of menus and chapters, etc. Then I set the quality settings for transcoding to the best quality mpeg for 1920 x 1080 interlaced video, and check the project settings as well to the best quality. And here is when I notice a few strange things: 1.- The disc info bar, in the Build section, shows that the blu ray disc is using only 2.7 gigs of space, even when the .m2t file is 29 gigs and I`m using the best quality settings. 2.- the preview image in the monitor section looks choppy and very low quality. 3.- finally, after hours of transcoding and burning, the quality of the finished blu ray disc is very, very bad, and the total size of the files burned into the disc is about 7 gigs total. I tried many different quality settings in the program, but the results are the same or worst. I tried burning the original 29 gigs file using other program (cyberlink power producer) with no menus, and the results are far superior. (the things is I need the menus and chapters in this project, so I HAVE to do it in encore). Is there a way to get a decent quality blu ray using my video file in encore ? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a couple of other thoughts.
Are you using an Apple possibly with Leopard OS?
    If a PC which OS.
How do you view the 29 GB file when you say it "looks great when played back directly"?
Have you ever successfully burned a bluRay disk with your system?
29 GB seems too big for that amount of footage (at least to me).
You might check out this thread (particularly post #7 of 9)
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?128@@.59b5bb15
which describes a workflow revolving around H.264. and the possible role of "forced interlacing" by Encore.
I don't know if Jeff would agree, but there are a lot of problems with BluRay authoring. All you have to do is look up and down the list of posts. Personally, I think I bypassed all that by using Cineform.

  • Issues with encoding in AME vs. PP CS 6 ...

I have an .avi file with SD 720x480i LFF 29.97fps .9091 originally edited from miniDV material.  If I place that clip in an 1080i sequence and export with the H.264 Blu-ray format 1080i UFF 29.97fps and select multiplexing to produce an .m2t file and export it plays fine on my PC and my PS3.  I tried as-is and also another variant with scale to frame.   However, if I pull that same file into AME, select the the same format and match the same preset settings, then export a .m2t that resultant file plays ok, but on my PS3 there is no audio and video has this weird stutter effect over the whole frame.   (The same thing happens if I start with a .mpeg format file with the same video characteristics.)
Please ignore the why are you putting SD into HD, etc. topic, that's not the point and I can go into the details if really necessary.   What I'm confused about is why I'm getting different results.   Is there some sort of magic that is occuring dropping into a 1080i sequence first before exporting out of PP CS6?   Or something else that I need to do in AME?
PS The reason I'm asking is I that have 57 files covering twelve years of home video I was hoping to batch convert to the above format for primary playback on PS3, PC secondary, without discs.

Ignore everything above just read from here.   The problem has been reproduced and simplified exporting from PP CS 6 only ...
I have a number of AVI and MPEG files that are SD 720x480i, lower, 29.97fps, PAR .9091.   Please ignore why I am doing the following for now.  If I create a new sequence using the AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) preset, drop in this footage with no other edits, then choose export to H.264 Blu-ray 1080i with audio multiplexing to produce an .m2t file, leaving all other settings default the resultant file plays just fine on my PC with several media players and my PS3.   However, if the only thing I do differently is  queue (vs. export) from PP, then the start encode button in AME, the resultant file plays ok only on some media players on the PC and on the PS3 the audio is gone and video has this pulsating hiccup behavior, very weird.   Not that his occurs for either VBR 1-pass or VBR 2-pass, but not CBR.
I do not understand why the result would vary based on queue vs. export working with a sequence from within PP CS6.    And why CBR is ok, but either VBR variant is not.
    Thoughts?
PS Jeff: I thought the situation was different enough from the prior that it warranted a new discussion thread.    New readers will now go through several screens of information that can be skipped.

  • QT and Dolby Digital

I am pulling, via the firewire connection, HD programming off my Comcast HD cable box. No problem there. I then use MPEG Streamclip tp export the m2t file to an down converted DV file along with demuxing the AC-3 stream seperately. Also, no problem. I then combine the two back together with DVD Studio Pro 3. Problem is that editing is iompossible at this point. Is there any way to put the DV file, that QT can use, and the demuxed AC-3 file together so that I could then more easily edit the file? I am sure using some expensive editting program would work but doing it with QT is all the editting I need. Thanks! Any help anyone could offer would be wonderful.

  • How can I export m2ts footage with 5.1 audio in PP CS5.5?

    Dear All!
I have a 90 minutes project which made from 4 sequence. Sequence settings are the followings : AVCHD 1080p 25fps square pixels , 5.1 channel master audio.
I made the sequences from avchd file-s, which recorded with Sony HDR-CX700V with AVCHD 1080p 25fps and Dolby digital 5.1 sound.
Right now I finished the project with lots of effects and imported After effects compositions, and I cannot find any setting to create 5.1 sound.
I have Mainconcept codec suite, but this offer m2ts 1440*1080i settings only.( And I cannot configure the mainconcept codec settings.)
Do you have any idea how can I export the project without any degradation, and with 5.1 audio? The original footages recorded with this properties : H264/AVC - top field first - 22.000 Mbit/sec.
    And I use in the project some 720p H264/AVC - progressive - 8.001 Mbit/sec videos.
    Please help! Thanks a lot.

You have to consider a couple of things. Mixing 1080 and 720 material is best done in a 720 sequence, because uprezzing will seriously deteriorate quality, unless you accept black borders. That also means exporting a 720 format as maximum, unless again you accept serious quality loss. Whatever the resolution you choose, exporting AVCHD material to anything else than uncompressed, Lagarith or UT will entail a generation loss and thus quality loss. The best export settings are dependent on your delivery medium. DVD, BD or web.
Since you are working in a 1080 sequence, the quality loss of uprezzed 720 material is not a big issue, apparently, so what is the relevancy of 'the same quality' on export when you have already compromised quality?

  • Export as MPEG2 results in M2t file

    Hi,
when I try to export my video as a MPEG2 (regardingless which resolution) I always get a M2T file.
When I started the export first I got a prompt that asked for administration rights. Because the regeidtor asked for this rights I was a little bit confused and denied the request.
What do I have to do to get a real MPEG2 export?
    Thanks

    akraemer030
Let us cut to the core of the matter.
What is your definition of a real "MPEG2 export"?
Under Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG, what you set for Presets determines what you get for video compression, file extension, and the rest of the
    properties of the export file.
    If you select
    MPEG2 1440 x 1080i25
    MPEG2 1440 x 1080i30
    MPEG2 1920 x 1080i25
    MPEG2 1920 x 1080i30
You get a video file which uses MPEG2 video compression with a .m2t file extension and a companion instructional file with the file extension .xmpses.
This File Type is described as MPEG2 Blu-ray.
You can customize the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab.
The specific video codec that it uses is named MainConcept MPEG Video.
    If you select
    HDTV 1080i25 High Quality
    HDTV 1080p24 High Quality
    HDTV 1080p25 High Quality
    HDTV 1080p30 High Quality
You get only a file which uses MPEG2 video compression with a .mpg file extension.
This File Type is described as MPEG2.
You can customize the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab.
The specific video codec that it uses is named MainConcept MPEG Video.
These choices do not include a companion instructional file.
    If you select
    NTSC DVD Standard
    NTSC DVD Widescreen
    PAL DVD Standard
    PAL DVD Widescreen
You get only a file which uses MPEG2 video compression with a .mpg file extension.
This File Type is described as MPEG2 DVD.
You can customize the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab.
The specific video codec that it uses is named MainConcept MPEG Video.
These choices do not include a companion instructional file.
There are a few other presets under Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG that I have not defined as above. I will leave that for you to check out in the
    scheme that I have provided.
All of the above being written, I believe the matter resolves to the question that I asked at the beginning
What is your definition of a real "MPEG2 export"?
If you need any help in selecting project settings for your Premiere Elements project, please supply details of
    a. project preset
    b. properties of source media
    c. intended export description and intended type of use
