Export to pdf off by the opening page

Using Indesign CS 5.5 7.5.2 on a mac. I have a book document composed of 67 individual documents. Each document is paginated correctly. Each document begins on the right hand side with proper blank pages as the last document when necessary.
When I export to pdf (print) every document begins on the left hand side. I am hoping there is an easy fix for this. Help or comments appreciated.

Now on to laying out that darn table of contents and trying to get the chapter headings to ru along the top of the appropriate places.

Do you have backups of all the data on the startup drive? If not, do nothing else until you've backed up that data, if you still can.

Safari status bar disappears. I have tried clicking on show status bar and it will only appear when I move the cursor to the top of the screen. I can not minimize the open page only full screen or close the browser. Any idea how the rectify this

One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

Are you sure? I believe the mail program only previews the first page for you, but sends the whole attachment. Try opening the attachment (e.g., select and hit spacebar for a preview of the whole thing, or by double-clicking it, or control-clicking then "Open...") You should see the whole document.

Whenever i open a new tab, a website opens up, even though i have set a blank page as the opening page. How do i stop this?

This started after i had installed a software recently. I have uninstalled that software now. I even set the opening page as 'Blank'. Also hit the 'restore to default' button.

Upon launching Firefox, the opening page shows an area where I can search for info, but the search button does nothing.

The opening page shows 2 things: a search bar and restore previous session. When I try to use the search bar, nothing happens.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

In Firefox 4.0 what happened that Google is not on the opening page?

In the previous version of Firefox, the Google logo with a space for question entry was on the opening page. Now, it seems that Yahoo is the "preferred" place to go for your information. I really do miss the Google page. Of course I can access Google in other ways, but I did like the convenience of the "old way."

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

When I try to quit Firefox, the open page closes, but the application does not. Must Force Quit to close the application.

I am using a Macbook running 10.6.8 with Firefox version 9.0.1. Recently, when trying to close the Firefox application, the open page disappears, but the application stays open, but is unresponsive. I must force Quit the application at this point. If I try to work in the Menu Bar I get the spinning beach ball until I do the Force Quit. This isn't right and is making me nervous about the reliability of this browser.

Is Firefox working ok up until it freezes when you try to close it? I found an article on how to troubleshoot Firefox when it hangs- but this typically is for users who have trouble while using the application as opposed to just when shutting it down:

You can tap one of the keyboard Function (F) keys. Without knowing which keyboard you use it 's a little difficult to say. If you don't have a keyboard shortcut to do that, create one in System Preferences - Keyboard. I have my F6 key set to take me directly to the desktop. However the way your question is phrased I'm not positive that is what you are asking.

Pages version 5 - Is there a way to export to PDF and keep the hyperlinks?

I previously used Pages 09 and when I exported to PDF for my online shop, the table of contents and hyperlinks all worked. I've exported my first Pages version 5 document to PDF and none of the links work.
Is there a fix for this?

Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

How do you shut off the opening page of Mozilla's new features?

im getting really pissed off not being able to stop 2 pages from opening when i click on my firefox browser. one page which I want to open up is my yahoo.com page, the other is your new mozilla add ons page. its annoying and im about to stop using Mozilaa because of it. its ridiculous that we can stop it from loading everytime I open my browser. ive tried so many things to stop it. please help and thank you for your time

Do you mean the regular Add-ons page (the one that opens when you press Ctrl+Shift+a) or a page for a specific add-on?
Do you get the unwanted page when you launch a new window (Ctrl+n)?
If so, that can indicate either:
* Your settings list two home pages. These articles will help in clearing that up:

* One of your add-ons is showing the new page.
If the extra page does NOT appear in a new window, could you test using your Firefox desktop icon a second time without closing Firefox? This should launch a new window.
If THAT new window has the unwanted page, your Firefox shortcut might be hacked. You can check by right-clicking it > Properties > Shotcut tab. The Target for 64-bit Windows 7 should be no more and no less than the following:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
If THAT new window does NOT have the unwanted page, Firefox may be showing a "one time" page and failing to record that it has showed the page, so it keeps doing that one time action at every startup. Have you noticed Firefox having problems remembering any other settings changes? How can I export a PDF form and the filled in fields to a text document?

OK, so I have a situation. I need people to be able to open a reader-enabled PDF form, fill out the form fields, and then export the filled-out PDF form to a basic text document. This seems easy since Adobe Reader can save to text. The problem is, the answers in the form fields do not show in the text file! Each radio button shows as yes and no, and there is no indication in the text file which one was selected. In addition, the form fields are not exported next to the questions on the form. I tried flattening the form in Adobe pro, and that did not work either.
How can I create a fillable form for Adobe Reader, and then let the user export their answers AND the questions on the form to plain text?

OK, so I tried this as a starting point, and assigned it to a button on page 3 of the form.

This gives me all the words on the first page not in fields, and each word goes on a separate line. Now, characters in the document such as "&" or ")" cause the rest of the word to go on the next line down.
Next, I tried this:

This only gives me the first word on page 3, the page the button is placed?
What I need to do is run the code and place words on one line until the code hits a keyword "var cKeyWord1 = “Key1” for example?, then insert the value of field one, Start a new line in the console, restart the code where it left off until it hits the next key word "var cKeyWord2 = “Key2”, insert the value of field two, add a new line, and on and on.
Is this possible?

How can I auto export a PDF File using the "Smallest File Size" preset and set the Exported File Name based on information from an Imported PDF?

I am trying to create a script to automate a PDF export process for my company for inDesign. I’m fairly new to inDesign itself and have no previous experience with javascript, although I did take C++ in high school and have found it helpful in putting this code together.
We have an inDesign template file and then use the Multi-page PDF importer script to import PDF files. We then have to export two version of each file that we import, then delete the imported file and all of the pages to reset the template. This has to be done for nearly 1000 pdf files each month and is quite tedious. I’m working on automating the process as much as possible. I’ve managed to piece together code that will cleanup the file much quicker and am now trying to automate the PDF exports themselves.
The files are sent to us as “TRUGLY#####_Client” and need to be exported as “POP#####_Client_Date-Range_North/South.pdf”
For example, TRUGLY12345_Client needs to be exported as POP12345_Client_Mar01-Mar31_North and POP12345_Client_Mar01-Mar31_South.
There are two templates built into the template file for the north and south file that are toggled easily via layer visibility switches. I need to get a code that can ideally read the #s from the imported Trugly file as well as the Client and input those into variables to use when exporting. The date range is found in the same place in the top right of each pdf file. I am not sure if this can be read somehow or if it will have to be input manually. I can put North or South into the file name based on which template layer is visible.
I am not sure how to go about doing this. I did find the following code for exporting to PDF with preset but it requires me to select a preset and then type the full file name. How can I set it to automatically use the “Smallest File Size” preset without prompting me to choose and then automatically input some or preferably all of the file name automatically? (If the entire filename is possible then I don’t even want a prompt to appear so it will be fully automated!)

So far my code does the following:
1) Runs the Multi-Page PDF Import Script
2) Runs PDF Export Script Above
3) Toggles the Template
4) Runs #2 Again
5) Deletes the imported PDF and all pages and toggles template again.
It’s close and much better than the original process which was almost 100% manual but I’d like to remove the Preset prompt from the PDF script and have it automatically select the “Smallest File Size” preset. and then if there’s a way to have it auto-fill in the file name so no user input is required at all other than selecting each file to import. (If there’s a way to setup a batch action for the multi-import script that would be even better!)

If you hold down the option key, it will typically show the location. Or you can often hit option-return on the file and it will reveal the file in the Finder, instead of opening it.
Final option is to open it, and just option-click the filename in the toolbar of Preview and it should show you the location.
It's probably an attachment to an email you've received. If you have Mail set to cache emails and their attachments it'll be stashed in a subdirectory of ~/Library/Mail. Which is fine.
