Exporting ALV list to EXL different behaviour in different Language

Dear Experts,
We have a custom report in which we are displaying an ALV Grid. Here many columns are there along with a column to display Material Number.
We have declared this material as of type MARA-MATNR only.
The user executes this report in language HU. In output This is getting displayed properly and there is no problem in it. But when the user export it to local file-> spreadsheet->excel file then the last character of the material is truncated. For example if material number is 00000000000123456 then in Excel it is storing as 12345 and digit 6 is truncated.
But if we log in to English language and execute the same report with same variant and export the list to EXCEL then it is working fine and the Excel sheet is showing proper material number as 123456.
I have tried to debug and check but i found that the data loaded in EN language is proper but in HU language it is loading it with value 12345X. Does anyone know what might be the issue here.

I searched in forum and found many threads regarding this but those solutions i couldnot apply here as I am properly declaring it as type MATNR and I cannot use the conversion exit as i need to display the entire value of material in ALV with leading zeroes.

Hi Guys,
We finally got what the issue is. Actually the translated text for field heading of material is having only 5 characters and it was allowing to store only 5 digit material numbers.
Solution used:
just provided the reference field as matnr in REF_FIELD of field catalog and set the flag NO_CONVEXT to make sure that leading zeroes are still used.

  • Using ajax/servlets, different behaviour with different systems

    I have written a small web application using servlets and ajax. I used the tomcat bundled with netbeans for deploying it. In the front end I create a timer which keeps running. I also have a form containing a paragraph that displays a question, followed by radio buttons and two buttons - a next and a submit. When I click the next button, I call a javascript function that creates an xmlHttp Object and sends the request for the next question and options from the servlet. when I request I also pass what the user has selected for the current question. when the timer reaches twelve or the user has finished attending all questions, the function would request for score through another xmlHttp Object. This program works fine in my computer. I also installed another tomcat server and ran it on another port and tested it. It works fine. But when I ran it college, the page was not displayed properly. When I click an option the contents of the form moves and only when I click the Next button twice, the corresponding javascript function is called.
    I am pasting the html file and the servlet. What could be the reason?

    }First thing is that the Ajax request you are building is not browser specific.
    Go to this site it will give you the specific code www.tizag.com/ajaxTutorial/
    And do try and test your program on diff browser from your pc only. Its a ajax world so be careful while dealing with browsers
    and there settings. Just check your browser setting on your pc and check the same setting at your college also.
    Buddy this ajax give a trick in big presentation also :) So no need to worry and test it and do it, its real fun when you just
    cross this browser secific dependencies.

    Debugging may not help. The separate lists are handled by the display variant. You should be able to do the same thing if all of your lists use the same field catalog and are in the same or can be put in the same table.

    Pls be more specific in your question. If you want to include an extra field in your alv output, then read the field catalog table you created through "Reuse_alv_fieldcatalog_merge" and then add an extra entry in it giving the details of the field you want to add.. and then call the "resuse_alv_grid_display",

  • ALV list display in a Background job - Spool output

    Hi,
    We are currently working on a report scheduled to be run in the background job, and the ALV list is displayed in the spool output.
    ALV list in the spool does not look the same as front run job, the column headers are all crowded together, and there is no grid in-between different columns or rows. It's hard to read.
    Is there a way to add grid for this kind of output?

  • Problem: User has problems to export ALV Grid to Excel...

    Hello experts,
    I have a very strange problem with an single user: when she tries to export ALV Grid data from SAP into Excel by List/Export/Spreadsheet, she's only able to export this to an xml-based file on her local client, every other user gets the popup to choose the spreadsheet format (XXL...).
    What I did so far:
    - Look up Excel Makro Security --> the same as on other desktops
    - SAP GUI Patch Level --> the same as on other desktops
    - Test with an different user on her desktop on SAP Report S_ALR_87012284 --> it worked perfectly
    - User parameters are the same as for the test user
    - Security regarding ALV is the same (S_GUI ACTVT = 61...)
    Has there ever been a similar problem to anyone else?

    Hi ,
    This problem looks very weired. Just try running that FM from SE37 from the same system and see that what is happening there.... if the problem is similar then it is not the problem of your report and some patch may be missing in that system.

    This is an ALV report using the heirarchical ALV list display. The  
    report selects all deliveries that fulfil the selection criteria    
    and displays a summary of all items in that delivery with reference 
    to certain statuses: overall status, goods issue status, transfer   
    order status, load to pallet status, pallet count status, loaded to 
    van status, van manifest printed status and end of day manifest     
    printed status. These statuses have been defined by the business.   
    There is extra functionality required to trigger printing of the van
    and end of day manifests from this report, and to set the loading   
    end status of a shipment if the last handling unit of a particular  
    shipment has been loaded onto a van for which the van manifest has  
    been triggered.

  • Call Transaction from Excel VBA macro and download ALV list object results

    I have a situation that must be very common u2013 but I canu2019t find any clear information on how to get it done! 
    We frequently run SAP transactions, download the results (orders or inventory) into Excel, do some calculations and create a spreadsheet report. 
    I would like to automate this process using Excel VBA so that a macro will perform these steps:
    1. Run our custom SAP report "YSD033" that summarizes orders using the previous day as the [From Date] parameter.  (The user already has an active ECC 6 R3 session running.)   If possible, can the TC be run using a specific variant "G111BIZ" ?
    2. Download the list object that appears in an ALV grid as a table to an empty spreadsheet in the active workbook (export XXL list object)
    3. Save the resulting workbook and close Excel.
    Should the solution use u201Ccall transactionu201D or a GuiXT script?
    Any help would be much appreciated, and some sample VBA code would be great!

    Hi,
    In my ALV list  for the same column I need Button or  Value for the different rows (CELL) depending upon my condition.
    as well as I have to make  read only of 3 rd column CELL based on my first column dropdown value CELL for this Row Only.
    Depends upon the value in  column 1 /  row 2   I have to  read only  the CELL of   column 5 / row 2   ie for the same row.
    Depends upon the value in Column 1/ row 3    I have to   EDITABLE  or   Button   the CELL  of column 5 / row 3 ie for the same row
    How to do the logic for this.
    I tried and got it for the entire column only.
    But my requirement is for the sepecific cell in the column.
    Kindly help to proceed further.

    Here is how you can make a particular cell in the row read-only based on certain conditions.
    In my example I am displaying the flight details in an ALV. Here I am checking the airline id and if it is "AA' I am making the cell in the column airline id as readonly. In my example I am putting a check and readonly on the same column. However you can do this for different columns as well.
    In order to achieve this you need to add a new context attribute 'READONLY' of type abap_bool to the context node which is bound to data node of ALV.
    The method where I populate the node has the following code to populate the data.

  • Add(Copy)/Change/Delete in editable ALV list

    I want to add a column to my ALV list where the user can enter an 'A' to Copy, 'C' to Change or 'D' to Delete. If the user enters an 'A', the code needs to insert a new line into the ALV list.  After the user makes the changes on the screen and selects Save, I need the program to perform different functions depending on whether the user entered an 'A', 'C' or 'D' in the column.  I have never used an editable ALV list and would like to have some sample code to get started.  Does anyone have any code similar to what I am trying to do?

  • Hide delete option is not working in ALV List  Display- urgent

    Hi All,
    In my program i am displaying the output by using alv list display. after displaying the data i am displaying my own pf status here. in this i have few pushbuttons like
    selest all, deselect all, hide . first two options are working fine. when i click hide button selected records are going to be hide.but this is not happening in my program. any body cam send me the code plz.

    Hi,
    What do you mean by Hiding the records.
    Deleting completely from the screen.
    You can just delete the records from the internal table and pass to field catalog before displaying again.
    or serach in the slis structrue for hiding the contents of the output.

  • Display error protocol in an alv list

    Hi!
    I have in my program an alv list.Two of its fields are editable. For one of this field I want to control the value key by the user. So , i used ADD_PROTOCOL_ENTRY from class CL_ALV_CHANGED_DATA_PROTOCOL like in report BCALV_EDIT_04. The control works very well when the user key a wrong value.
    But, here is my problem. I add a button to allow user to change value for several line with one click (mass change) and i would like to control entry too. 
    Since when i call method CHECK_CHANGED_DATA after my mass changes nothing appends, in PAI module i add this code.
    DATA WT_CHANGED TYPE REF TO CL_ALV_CHANGED_DATA_PROTOCOL.    CREATE OBJECT WT_CHANGED EXPORTING I_CALLING_ALV = GRID1.
    PERFORM MASS_CHANGE.
    CALL METHOD G_VERIFIER->HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED( WT_CHANGED ).
    In perform mass_change i had this code :
    WT_CELLS-ROW_ID = WT_INDEX2-ROW_ID.
    WT_CELLS-FIELDNAME = '/BIC/ZC_SIPROD'.
    WT_CELLS-VALUE = P_SIPROD.
    WT_CELLS-TABIX = W_TABIX.

    The protocol windows appears. When i click on an error message the cell witch contains the error is selected but the fiels <i>name of the columns</i> is empty in the protocol windows and the incorrect value is not deleted.
    NB : when i do manual change (i.e line by line) this columns isn't empty and the incorrect value is deleted.
    can you help me in order to solve my problem?
