Exporting an iPhoto Slide show to 16:9 format. How?

I built a slide show in 16:9 aspect ratio in iPhoto.
Im trying to export it to bring into iDVD.
I want to add my own soundtrack to it (the Quicktime movie) first before I bring it into iDVD.
I only see option to export the slideshow to aspects of 4:3.
What do I do?

When you select Share->Send to iDVD..., iPhoto creates a movie file in your Movies folder. It then uses that movie file in the iDVD project that is automatically opened.
If your slideshow was 16:9, the movie created above will also be 16:9. You can just Quit iDVD without saving and your movie file will be left in the Movies folder to do with as you wish.
How do you plan to add your own soundtrack to the movie later? Why don't you just create a playlist in iTunes with the music you want and select that as the music for your slideshow in iPhoto. It will then export both audio and video to iDVD and you won't need to do any extra editing.

  • Using FCE to improve an iPhoto slide show exported DV file

    Hello everyone
I was looking for a quick good way to create a slide show easily, without manually adding various transitions, panning etc....
Well, iPhoto makes a great slide show, fast n easy music and all.
I've exported a Slide Show as a 'Large Sized DV File'.
Only problem, as everyone knows, the iPhoto Slide Shows look great on a high resolution computer screen, but when using the exported DV file on a DVD, it's not as good.
I have found however, that re-importing it into FCE, rendering it, and re-exporting it, produces better results when this DV File is used on the DVD.
Anyone have any comments about this?
    Thanx

  • How can I change the font size and placement of photo descriptions in an  iPhoto slide show?

With an iPhoto slide show, how do I change the font size for titles and descriptions and position the text when preparing a slide show?

to change the pixels crop to 100x100 and export with maximum dimension of 100 - see the user tip on exporting foo details on Export options - Exporting From iPhoto
As to DPI - digital photos have no DPI since DPI is Dots Per Inch and digital photos have no inches hence no DPI - when you print a photo then DPI is a mathematical calculation - dots divided by inches - it is not a setting
    Print a 480 pixel photos as a 1" square and the print it 480 DPI (480 / 1 = 480) and print the 100 pixel image as a 1" square it will be 100 DPI (100 / 1 = 100) - print a 480 pixel photo as a 4.8 inch square and it is 100 dpi (480 / 4.8 = 100) - just a calculation - not a setting

  • Convert iphoto slide show to mov format?

hello, I just want to ask that, can I convert iphoto slide show into mov format??? I tried to select all pics, and export them as a mov, but the problem is, in the iphoto slide show, the pics can be moved and fit the screen size, but when I i export it, the pics just set in the middle , no any effect.

    1. Select the photos you want to use, and click on the +. In the window that appears, select slideshow, and give your project a title.
    2. Choose your transitions and music.
    3. Go to File>Export; this will create a QuickTime movie- a .mov file.
    4. For information on playback, read this section from QuickTime Player Help.
    _Viewing Movies at Full Screen_
You can set the screen so that only the movie is visible, not the QuickTime Player window, desktop, or other windows. This presentation setting is called "full-screen mode." (You can also set a movie to play at half size, double size, or other sizes.)
To play a movie at full screen, do one of the following:
    Choose View > Full Screen.
Choose View > Present Movie, choose Full Screen, and click Play.
To quit full-screen mode, press Esc. To adjust the way the picture is sized to fit your screen, such as stretched to fit or in letterbox format, move the pointer to the top of the screen to display the QuickTime Player menu options, and then choose a setting from the View menu. The following additional options are available in full-screen mode:
Fit to Screen: The content is scaled to fill your screen as fully as possible without cropping the movie or changing the aspect ratio.
Zoom: The content is scaled and cropped to completely fill your screen in at least one dimension. This can eliminate black areas on the top (letterboxing) or side (pillarboxing) but may hide or distort the content.
Panoramic: The content is scaled to fit your screen and the outer horizontal edges compressed to avoid cropping the image.
You can also cycle through all of the available full-screen options by clicking the button in the movie controls that appear when you move the pointer.
You can also set options for all movies playing at full screen. For example, you can hide the movie controls or change the amount of time they're displayed before being hidden. To set these options, see QuickTime Player preferences.
Note: As long as "Display full-screen controls" is selected in QuickTime Player Preferences, you can make hidden controls appear by moving the pointer.
    I hope this helps.

  • How to burn an iPhoto slide show to a DVD

is it possible to burn an iPhoto slide show to a dvd ?

    Sure:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iPhoto/9.0/en/phtf677be44.html
I use the advanced settings and export in DV format, 640x480.
Save the exported slideshow in your "movies" folder.
Start up iDVD and you can see this slideshow in your media.

  • Email iphoto slide show

How do I send an iphoto slide show with music via email?

    Probably, you don't.
Many email services have an attachment limit if 20mb and some an attachment limit of 10mb. That means that video is rarely suitable for emailing.
    Options:
Upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo and email a link - these will allow the recipient to view the material onlne.
Upload it to sharing services like Dropbox or YouSendIt and email a link. This will require that they downoad the material to their machines to view.
To get the slideshow out of iPhoto you export it.
    Regards
    TD

  • HT4906 How do I share/move my Iphoto slide show with my Ipad?

I am trying to move my Iphoto slide show to my Ipad.

Export it to the Finder, which will make a QuickTime movie of it. Add that to iTunes and sync.

  • Synching music to iPhoto slide show

I have created a playlist in iTunes for my iPhoto slide show. It needs some tweaking here and there to align the music with the correct slides. Is there a way to start in the middle of the show to work on this or must I always start at the beginning. I know I could probably do this in iMovie, but I am crunched right now and don't know if I have the time to invest in learning a new program.
    Thanks.

    Carole:
With iPHoto you get what it gives you. If you want to precisely align the music with slides export the movie without music. Then import the movie into iMovie and add the tracks. In iMovie you can overlap the tracks for transitioning from one to another, cut tracks to fit, etc. The save the movie or export to iDVD depending on what the final use is.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • The pictures of various trips on my iPhoto library to separate flash drives such that I could put on a slide show for each trip.  How can I do that?

I want to copy the pictures of various trips on my iPhoto library onto separate flash drives such as I could do slide show on each trip. How could I do that?

Now if there any way for me to put a caption on each slide?
    Your welcome.
You want the caption written directly into the photo?
Since you are exporting from iPhoto, you could download the BorderFX plug-in, if your mac is compatible with this plug-in.  It will allow you to write the titles or dates you are seeing in iPhoto directly onto the border.
You can download BorderFX here:  BorderFX - iBorderFX iPhoto
If BorderFX is not compatible, use any photo ditor, that suports graphics, like Photoshop, Previews, to write into the photo.

  • How do I mute the sound on a movie clip that I'm using in iphoto slide show?

I cant get rid of the sound on a movie clip I'm using in an iphoto slide show. I want to mute it as I'm using music on the slideshow. Thanks!

Did your Mac come with iMovie preinstalled?
Then you could export your video, import it to iMovie and remove the audio track. iMovie has two methods to silence a video clip - you can either select the clip in the project and use the command "Detach audio" or chance the audio settings of the clip and set the volume to zero. Then render the video new and import the silent version to iPhoto to use in the slideshow.

  • Placing IPhoto slides shows in a webpage with Kompozer

My IWeb program basically crashed and does not recognize my website for editing. I have recreated the entire site with Kompozer except for the slide shows. Can I add an IPhoto slide show with Kompozer?
    Carl

I suppose if you export the slideshow as a Quicktime file
you can upload it to your server and embed it into a web page with Komposer. I've not used it so can't comment on it. With an HTML editor it would be possible using the appropriate code.
Regarding your iWeb domain file and web site: try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
    3 - reboot.
4 - launch iWeb and see if the domain file will open.
    If that doesn't help continue:
5 - move the domain file from your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
6 - launch iWeb, create a new test site and save.
7 - go to the your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
8 - move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
9 - launch iWeb and try again.

  • Posting iPhoto slide shows to Facebook

i am a beginner on Mac....recently made an iPhoto slide show that I would like to post to FB or send by email.  Is that possible?

If you can access the photos already, and want to put them into Powerpoint one picture per slide, then you will have to do them one at a time.
If you have a lot of photos you could make a slideshow in iPhoto, and then insert the slideshow into Powerpoint. That would be much faster if you had a lot of photos.
Create an album in iPhoto of the pictures you want in the slideshow and then create a new slideshow from the album. You can change settings like transition and audio and then export it to the Desktop.
You can insert the file as a movie in Powerpoint.

  • In iPhoto slide show, is there a way to splice several short tunes together to play for the show?

In iPhoto slide show, is there a way to splice several short tunes together to play for the show?

    Mike:
If you want to do a little more that string several songs together, i.e. like cutting out the lead in and out, overlapping, etc. you can try Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder. Always be sure to work with copies of your audio tracks.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.
