Exporting drop menu dreamweaver

Hi
I have forgot how I exported a previous drop down menu created in fireworks and used in dreamweaver.
I have created some buttons, added the slices but when exported into my site in dreamweaver I place button in div tag but drop down does not work. It really is just an image.
Can you explain How I export correctly from fireworks to dreamweaver and have buttons work properly as drop menu in dreamweaver.

I have drop menus created in dreamweaver shown but would like to create different buttons in fireworks.
If I create one single button with drop menu in fireworks what file should I see and were should I put them in my dreamweaver site?
Do I need to copy and paste code from fire works doc into my html page I am working on in dreamweaver?

I want to be able to print a blank form for the older clients who cannot use a computer. Form has a few drop-down menus and they only appear on the print out if an option is selected. The form was created on FormCentral. Can anybody help?

I am using the trial version of Adobe Acrobat and am using the provided FormCentral software to create the form. I find it very limited, but easier to learn. I am creating a financial needs analyser.
The section of the drop down menu is a selection from 1-5 (rating of importance for financial goals). I want to print out the questions and the empty boxes for people to fill them in by hand (e.g write 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5). When I leave a blank choice, no box is printed out. I write the questions in formatted text and leave the text/caption for the drop-down as blank, as it is difficult to set the margins correctly so various elements align (I pretty much have to estimate).
As said before, I may have been missing a massive part of the software, but I haven't used any training - just going by instinct so far.
Do you know if I can do anything about it?

Trying to export html to dreamweaver but save images as pngs.

I'm designing a floating site. My workflow is PS=====>Fireworks====>Dreamweaver. I made a navbar in FW with a transparent background and exported html to dreamweaver. I inserted the fireworks htm, put it online and it looks terrible. You can see it here:

Don't worry about the portfolio button, I know what's going on there. But I can't figure out why there is "stairstepping" on the logo and on all the navbar buttons. This is the first time I've ever created a floating site. I just put a jpeg for repeat using the dreamweaver css, and then inserted the rest in a table. I got some good replies in dreamweaver forums, but they all centered around saving the images when you export as pngs or as transparent gifs with a green matt. How can I do this with fireworks cs3?
Could anyone give me an idea of what I'm doing wrong? Thanks so much.

The GIF format supports only one value of transparency. Your text, when anti-aliased against whatever background in Fireworks (transparent?), probably looks fine. When you export, though, you lose the smooth transition. (If you zoom in, you can see the blending of text to background and that's what you're losing.)
You have two options.
You can still use the GIF format. Just pick a green value out of your background image and use that for your canvas. Then, when you export, set that color to transparent. Where the pixels of the text and that color blend for the anti-aliasing, you'll have opaque pixels, but they'll look all right against your background image.
Use a PNG8, which is an indexed palette like the GIF, but it supports semi-transparent colors. When you go to export, you may want to add more colors using the eye dropper tool, as FW doesn't quite pick out all the values it might for a smooth image. See this article:

Export the file using "Current Settings" and enable "self contained".
Once the export is complete, open up Compressor, drop in your file, select the desired output settings and turn Compressor loose. If you have set up a Quick Cluster and have a multi core Mac, Compressor will use all available cores. It will be a faster process.

Folio panel drop menu won't drop - can't update articles in folio

I am having trouble with the drop menu on the Folio Builder panel. In the past it has worked completely normally, but today it won't drop at all. Which means I can't update any files, or rename articles etc...
This started yesterday ... so I uninstalled Indesign and downloaded again. It worked. This morning I am trying to continue working on the project and the drop menu wont drop again.
I have reset Indesign preferences... and that still doesnt make the drop menu come back..
any ideas...

This is still a big problem and with the Single Edition licence ending soon, InDesign not functioning as it should be is quite stressful..
No one has answered this question. I have read through past threads and no one has answered others questions about this topic either...
When I try to update an article there is no menu available in the drop menu of the folio.
I have restarted Indesign several times.
I uninstalled and re-installed it again...
I have reset preferences over and ove,r and by the way the default black theme is horrible
It doesn't matter which document in which folio I try to update - the drop menu isn't available.
The documents have gone up to the cloud - I can see current documents there, so the files are synchronizing properly... It is the folio panel that is the culprit...
I am using build 10.2.0.69 of release 2014.2
Does anyone out there, in the world, anywhere, have any suggestions how to get the drop menu back into the folio?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Animation preset is showing but the drop menu for it isn't?

When I choose fractal noise the animation preset is showing, but when I click on the drop menu for it to select curtain, no options show at all. The only options that show are "None" and "Save Selected Effects As Animation Preset." Can someone help me make the curtain noise show? thanks

You probably have permissions issues on your presets foldrs so AE can't access them. Check that.

My media drop menu for music, tv shows, etc. is missing in iTunes?

A lot of it may be artwork. My iTunes is 40,000 songs (213Gb and I have almost 9Gb of artwork - and that's been downsized to 300X300 "web optimized" images too)
Also, there is a discrepancy between the way iTunes shows files size and the way OS X does.
iTunes (most likely because there is also a Windows version) uses "binary" calculations (1mb = 1024kb and so on) where OS X uses "decimal" calculation (1mb = 1000kb and so on).
120gGb in iTunes is 122,880mb. That same 120Gb in OS X is 120,000mb.
The files are the same size, but OS X will show more available space than iTunes will.
Still, artwork and duplicates are the #1 & #2 culprits.
Lastly, the bit rate of your music can be a factor. If everything is 320kbps or more... or Apple Lossless (800kbps+ usually) your music files are a lot bigger than you probably need, unless you're a music professional (DJ or producer). Try converting them down to a bit rate in the area of 160 or 192kbps. 192 is the MAX for anything in my library, because I only use it for home listening.

Then you will have to install a local server and use live view. It's not that DW isn't rendering it or isn't attaching it, it's that Muse decided to use server-side processing to include it which is ok for a CMS practice when you are combining stylesheets for better caching, but it really isn't ideal for a single style sheet. This is a shortcoming of Muse and one of the reasons many professionals don't back the product at the moment. That and you can't actually buy Muse, so unless you are on a subscription you don't have it. It's trying to fill a void for those who don't want to invest in the professional design tools like Fireworks or Photoshop or Dreamweaver, but want a cross between them to make designs. If you have invested in the subscription though and want a better way to make layouts I highly recommend coding it yourself and using Fireworks or Photoshop to do the layout for you. There is an excellent tutorial on the devnet (3 parts) to show you how its done ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dw_fw_css_pt1.html ). Once you start using Fireworks or Photoshop you will realize just how limited Muse is in design.

Best Strategy for Exporting Fireworks into Dreamweaver

I created a navigation bar in Fireworks and now I want to export it into Dreamweaver.
So I Went to Edit->Copy HTML Code (hotkey for this is Ctrl+Alt+C)
Now, what's the "best choice" from the dialog choices: AIR HTML, Dreamweaver HTML, Generic HTML, GoLive HTML, AIR XHTML, Dreamweaver XHTML, Generic XHTML or GoLive XHTML for a cross browser "professional" website?
I only tried the "Dreamweaver HTML Option" and itseemed to work nicely in my rookie opinion.
I think this technique might be at a performance cost to my graphic design or the website speed. So should I use a different strategy for exporting Fireworks to Dreamweaver? I have the CS5 package so can use any of those programs for support.

INHO, the best way to export from Fireworks to Dreamweaver is to first define your site in Dreamweaver, and then export the Fireworks document to the assets folder. Place your cursor when you want the navbar to be on your HTML page and choose Insert > Image Objects > Fireworks HTML.

SQL Developer 2.1.0.63 - Export Data menu missing for SQL Server databases

The Export Data menu only appears for Oracle databases in this version, it does not appear for SQL server databases.
To demonstrate:
Press F9 to run query
Right click on Query Result data
For Oracle an Export Data sub menu appears
For SQL server no Export Data sub menu appears
This worked in previous versions.
Is this functionality going to reappear?

Looks like this is exactly the same problem for third party connections as I have the exact same issue for mySQL.
I had to apply 1.5.5 version to fix it.

CSS problem with drop menu please help!

I have been going crazy for hours trying to use CSS to cover up part of a border, but I can't seem to do it with z-index or anything. My desired effect is to have the border be visible around the menu item and the drop part (only during hover) and eliminate the part that is separating the menu item from the drop box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to export drop down menu to DW??

Now, I have saved the button files in my rootfolder. When I
go there from DW/ Insert Image objects/ rollover button (its a
rollover), I see the following files that I created from Fireworks:
registration-nor.gif
then I have a whole lot of
registration-over_f6.gif
(corresponding to the amount of frames I have in my roll over
button)
I also got
mm_css_menu.js
and
registration-over.htm
and
registration-over.css
Now, the above is a whole bunch of different files, and I
cant seem to figure out how to put them in the right place or
swhich file to choose for where, in order to get my drop down menu
to work>
Please help me, and tips would be highly appreciated!

You really want help? Don't use these menus. They are pretty
poorly
implemented and will be a bear to maintain. There are much

Drop Menu over Flash

I created a drop down menu bar in dreamweaver with CSS and
layers, it works great on all pages except my home page where I
have created a flash animation.

Would anyone know if there is a way to get the drop down
layers to show on top of the Flash 8 animation? I tried putting the
flash animation on a seperate layer and work with the "hide" and
"show" behaviours but only succeeded in hiding the flash when the
menu layer dropped.

All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so
to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and
Active X controls.
This means that each of these will poke through layers. There
is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but
if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can
use the Flash
wmode parameter.

Edit and export dropdown menu slice

I need to change a dropdown menu navigation panel button in
an already published site. When you right click a sliced image in
the original fireworks png file you can export just that slice.
But that is not an option when you select a navigation button
slice
How can I edit individual buttons on my navigation panel?
I am exporting to Frontpage 2003.
