  • Internal error exception when try to export Crystal Report using V2008 C#

    Hello
    Im working in an application that should send a parameter to a crystal report. Everything works fine when i test the report in the CR 2008 and shows the information correctly
    After has the report working, i design a Visual C# application using forms and loading and exporting the report, which still works ok (generates the pdf file with the information)
    Then i convert this application as a console application. The point is i need the report working as a windows service, to generate it every 15 minutes without user intervention (but try it as a console application first to be sure it will work ok before creating as a service)
    Then i started the service. But when i call the report it sends an exception that i cannot understand:
    Internal exception No se pudo abrir la conexion.
    No se pudo abrir la conexion.
    Prueba {DDE88B40-8A22-4EDB-9DEE-A5033DAA0140}.rpt
    This is my code for the report that works fine as long as i don´t put any parameter into the sql command:
    ReportDocument cryRpt = new ReportDocument();
    cryRpt.Load(nomRepU);
    cryRpt.Refresh();
    cryRpt.SetParameterValue("EVAId", evaID);
    ExportOptions CrExportOptions = new ExportOptions();
    DiskFileDestinationOptions CrDiskFileDestinationOptions = new DiskFileDestinationOptions();
    PdfRtfWordFormatOptions CrFormatTypeOptions = new PdfRtfWordFormatOptions();
    CrDiskFileDestinationOptions.DiskFileName = @"" + path + "
    " + nomRepPDF_Exp;
    CrExportOptions = cryRpt.ExportOptions;
    CrExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile;
    CrExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat;
    CrExportOptions.DestinationOptions = CrDiskFileDestinationOptions;
    CrExportOptions.FormatOptions = CrFormatTypeOptions;
    cryRpt.Export(); -
    here i get the exception
    I checked that the parameter is being read correctly in the crystal report as i remove all the sql commands and just put the parameter in the heading of the report, and is show as supposed and generates the pdf file automatically, but when i assign the parameter to the sql command (select * from myTable where idTable = {?EVAId}  ) the crystal report send the exception i mentioned above
    I don't know what to do, i don't know if i configuring correctly the report or something is missing. I would appreciate any help. If need more information please let me know. This is making me crazy
    Thanks in advance

    Hello all
    I just fixed my issue, i made some changes in the code as well as in the crystal report:
    *Crystal report changes*
    I removed the parameter that i have to filter the information, instead i in the C# code i let the crystal report which records to show
    Note: in the preview of the report all information will be shown, however i won´t use it this way so is not a problem
    *Visual C# changes*
    // Load the crystal report
    cryRpt.Load(nomRepU);
    // Establish SQL conection parameters - below the code for the function
    SetTableLocation(cryRpt.Database.Tables);
    //This is really the main change, because if i use "setParameter" function still generates "Internal exception"
    cryRpt.DataDefinition.RecordSelectionFormula = "{EVAPrincipal.EVAId} = " + evaId;  // ---> Should be the same name of the table and the recordID i want to show
    // Export function
    cryRpt.Export();
    private void SetTableLocation(Tables tables)
                ConnectionInfo connectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo();
                connectionInfo.ServerName = @"" + server;  // ODBC
                connectionInfo.DatabaseName = @"" + initialCatalog;  // data base name
                connectionInfo.UserID = @"" + user;
                connectionInfo.Password = @"" + password;
                foreach (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table table in tables)
                    TableLogOnInfo tableLogOnInfo = table.LogOnInfo;
                    tableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = connectionInfo;
                    table.ApplyLogOnInfo(tableLogOnInfo);
    My notes:
    I guess i had two problems: the first with the SQL connection, in connectionInfo.ServerName i was using the name of the instance instead of the ODBC name. The second is the way the parameter is received in the crystal report as it works as windows service (this is my guess) then if i control everything through the C# code it runs perfect!
    Hope this helps if anyone has a similar problem

  • Export graphic for use in Premiere Pro Cs4

    Hey everyone, I have made some wiring diagrams in AI CS4 and need to have them apear in a DVD, I have tried several cominations and they are not clear on the video.  My settings are RGB, DV NTSC Widescreen, have exported for Web and Devises and in Tiff & Targa 72 & 300 DPI.  The diagram has text that looks fine in all the stills but in Premiere and the exported video the images look like a poor photo copy.  Thought I'd start here before asking in PPro.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Mmh, differences between versions aside, you are pretty much getting what you are asking. Any compressed format will have a hard time with perependicular lines and lots of high fequency detail (text, the coil spirals). There's really no way to avoid that otehr than to draw thr graphic differently, i.e. not use straight lines and a different way of presenting the text callouts. Also, you could massively improve perception by having the graphic move with a simple slow pan. the motion will lead to a more favorable distribution of the pixels across the scanlines, as the content changes every frame and in addition, motion blur will help to reduce flicker. Lastly, give the graphic some finesse by perhaps making the lines white and adding a dark outer glow to separate them from the background. these blended areas also help to reduce artifacts that appear with harsh transitions on straight lines. If it's an option , you might even want to use color for the + and - cabling (usually blue and red). As Wade suggested, you might try rendering to a different spec, but depending on what your intended final output is, this may not help at all, so working a bit on the graphic might pay off more.

  • Problem to export a report (to PDF) after converting my reports to CR13

    I have an old project with reports developped using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2003 (.NET 1.1). I want to convert them so I can now use Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (with .NET 3.5).
    I installed Crystal Reports for VS2010 and I converted my reports to the new format. Unfortunately, one of my reports is not working anymore.

    The old version of te report (using .NET 1.1, CR9) work fine. As I said, other reports in that same project work perfectly.
    Is someone have an idea of what's wrong!
    Thanks!
    Max.

    The most common cause of this problem is having very large detailed images, or lots and lots of images in your report. The Crystal Report engine changed a lot from 9.1 to 13. The big change was from 9.1 to 10 though when we started using the RAS InProc engine.
    The Crystal reporting engine is not efficient at handling the images and it can cause memory issues like you are seeing. As a test, try suppressing the images that show up frequently in your report and retry your export. If it works you'll have your answer and you'll need a new creative way to design your report without so many images.

  • Problem Exporting Crystal Reports 8.5 to an rtf file

    I have an app written in VB 6, data stored in Access 2000 format and reports in Crystal Reports 8.5.  From print preview of CR 8.5, I chose to export the report to an rtf file. When opening the rtf file, the report has print over top of print as if when my headers are repeated the information that follows prints on top of the header.  It also appears that the page breaks are not the same which causes overflow to the next page. I suspect that it has something to do with choosing to repeat headers in my group sections in CR.  I need these headers to be repeated when previewing or printing the CR.
    We have tried exporting to Word 2003 and Word 2007 and it seems even worse.
    Any ideas for a remedy?
    Thank you.

    Hi
    If you are exporting the report using the custom application and there you are facing this issue, then please post the thread in Expert Forums » Crystal Reports and Xcelsius » .NET Development - Crystal Reports for quicker response.
    Else please try the below :
    1.Uncheck the option for repeat group header.
    2.Check Keep together for all the sections from the section expert.
    Export the report once again and see if that works.

  • Problem in export Number field into graphical reports

    I have a custom field Number1.
    I put a decimal number (italian version)  0,5
    I use Number1 inside Cost1...to make some calculations, so the number format I see that is correct.
    I use Number1 as dimension into a graphical report (to excel file).
    Into the pivot of the excel the Number1 has the "," character converted to a underscore "_"
    So 0,5 become 0_5
    0,1 become 0_1
    I need the correct format into excel because I have to do other calculations.
    thank you.
    MS Project 2013 and MS Excel 2010. Both italian version.
    Daniele.b75

    Hi Daniele,
    How do you do your Excel export? Saving the file in a XLS format or creating a visual report?
    A workaround would be to write a simple macro in your Excel file:
    Sub test()
    Cells.Replace What:="_", Replacement:=",", LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder _
    :=xlByRows, MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False, ReplaceFormat:=False
    End Sub
    But before trying this, let's try to debug your export.
    Hope this helps,

  • Report Title and Text Area issue when exported to pdf using Viewer

    Hi there,
    We are using OracleBI Discoverer Version 10.1.2.55.26
    We have reports that displays Report title containing the following
    - Report Title
    - Runt Date and Time
    - Page No
    And text area which displays 'Last Page'
    Following properties are set at the worksheet level using page setup
    Report Title --> 'Print on every Page'
    Text Area --> 'Print on last page'
    The report when exported to PDF using Discoverer plus works fine and displays report title and text area as defeined.
    But when we try to export the same report to pdf from Discoverer viewer, it displays
    - Report title on first page only.
    - text area on all pages
    All our users accesses report using discoverer viewer so we cannot open discoverer plus to them.
    Is there a solution which will enable us to export the report in pdf using discoverer viewer and displays the same output as discoverer plus.
    Please let me know... If you have any questions then please feel free to ask.
    Thanks in advance for your help...

    but when opened on other os x machines some text is colored differently than it should be
    Well, if typographic objects are colour managed, the colour appearance is dependent on the source ICC profile that describes the colourants in the typographic objects and the destination ICC profile that describes the colours the display is able to form and the RBC colourant combinations that will form those colours.
    In general, typographic objects should have special treatment, since the expectation is not that typographic objects should be colour managed, but that typographic objects should simple be set to the maximum density of dark. On a display, that is R=0 G=0 B=0 and on a seperations device (a lithographic press) that is C=0 M=0 Y=0 K=100.
    If for some reason typographic objects are colour managed, and if the ICC profiles for the displays are off by half a mile or more in relation to the actual state of the display system, then the colours will not be the same. On the other hand, if those displays are calibrated and characterized, then the colourants will be converted to form the same colours on the displays.

  • Using SSRS local mode, receive invalid token error when trying to export the report when running in worker thread

    We're using ASP.net with .Net 4, developing with Visual Studio 2012.  We use SSRS 2012sp1 with local reports, so exporting the report ourselves instead of using a reportviewer control (and not using the SQL Reporting service).  The reports are
    executing fine when we export the report in the main thread, but if we spawn a worker thread and run a report there we receive the following error when calling Render():
    Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Failed to load expression host assembly. Details: Invalid token for impersonation - it cannot be duplicated.
    We only receive this when running a report that uses expressions on a separate thread.  I've tried running the application pool under all the default built-in accounts (NetworkService, etc), and under admin user accounts to no avail.
    This didn't occur with the previous version of our application which used .net 3.5.

    As mentioned, we are not using the Reportviewer control, we are rendering locally.  Not certain if that would make a difference.
    Also, I had tried using all the built-in accounts.  Just for kicks I changed it to LocalSystem again, then reset IIS (see image below).  I then tried to export the report in a worker thread and received the same error.

  • Call and Save Reports/Export to PDF using Dataplugin?

    Hello,
    My dataplugin is for various '.csv' files, and works perfectly when reading and loading the files. But, what would really be nice is if I could then somehow bring the data in those files into their appropriate report templates and then export that report as a '.pdf'.
    So, I tried adding:
          Call DataFileLoad([Filepath],[Script]
          Call DataFileSave([Filepath], ".TDM","TDM")
          Call Report.LoadLayout([Report Path])
          Call Report.Sheets.ExportToPDF([Path to save .pdf] ,False)
          Call Report.Refresh
          Call Data.Root.Clear()
    When I test the dataplugin by manually indexing a file, I receive the error: Variable is undefined: 'DataFileLoad'"
    So, if it is reading it as a variable does that suggest that it does not recognize functions unless they are stated in the sub?
    Is it possible to do what I would like it to do?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Kevin,
    DIAdem does not provide scheduling services, so some entity needs to tell DIAdem to start.  You can either manually set up a DIAdem to poll for files to pricess in an endless loop, or you can use the Windows Task Scheduler to launch a DIAdem instance periodically that automatically looks for files to process for a certain duration (after which it shuts itself down to avoid any potential long term memory leaks).
    R&D is interested in improving our offering for this use case, but as of DIAdem 2014 we do not have anything new available.

  • Ressource Problem: Export with graphical reports from projects with integrated sub-projects

    Hi all,
    i have the following problem with the exported data of the graphical reports possibility.
    Expected output:
    OLAP Cube with processes and ressources
    Setup:
    Project Server 2010 with Enterprise ressource pool
    One main project with 6 integrated sub-projects
    Every ressource is assigned to just one sub-project or the main project
    Problem:
    The data (work and cost) in the OLAP Cube exported from the main project is 7 times (some reports 49 times) higher than the data in the main project
    Tested scenarios:
    Export just processes -> data is correct
    Export just ressources -> data is 7 times higher
    Generate another main project with 2 sub-projects and no ressources in the main project - Export of processes and ressources -> data is 2 times higher
    Because of the tested scenarios I expect that this is a problem caused by ressources and integrated sub-projects.
    I hope that this community is able to help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks & all the bests,
    Holger

    Using the "Baseline work report", I can't reproduce your issue:
    I have 1 task in each project (2 projects) with a resource assigned on each task (80hrs). The report correctly shows me 160 hrs.
    Which Project 2010 SP and CU do you have? I'd suggest you to install the
    latest version and see if it helps.

  • Problems in create graphical report from Oracle FSG xml output using BIP

    We are trying to create graphical reports from Oracle Financial Statement Generator (FSG) xml output. I personally have extensive exposure working with XML (BI) Publisher but until recently I have never tried to use the BIP charting wizard to create graphical reports from FSG xml output out of EBS 11i/R12.
    I created an SR with Oracle but they had to create an enhancement request for this issue. Does anyone know or have any idea on how we can accomplish this. The charting wizard pops up but the xml tags available do not make any sense.
