But it's not clear from the documentation at the moment. A line in the docs that said "The Sun VM does not define any external happenings other than the following Posix signal handlers" would be more explicit, and would have saved me from looking for things that might not even be there :-)
Again, if this is documented somewhere, and I'm just being dim, then a pointer to the correct source would be appreciated.There is no explicit documentation, I'll make a note to add it to one of the docs.

There is no API ... no pre-defined set of happenings ... no standardized names for which to askI take your point. But the regular VM allows you to do things like query the list of Memory Managers and Memory Pools and return their names - and as far as I am aware, the names for those things aren't standardised. So it could be done. The VM is generally very good about providing quite rich information on the runtime environment, which is why I thought there might be a simple JMX-style api to list the supported happenings. More idle curiosity than anything else :-)I meant from the perspective of the RTSJ, there's no API defined.
If we supported happenings then we could of course make them discoverable/accessible via an appropriate management bean.

  • AE CS4 ExtendScript documentation?

    Is the CS4 scripting documentation not available online yet? All I see on Adobe's developer site is the documentation for AE CS3.

    "not up to our standards" is circa 2009 doublespeak for "screw the end user".
    Hey Adobe, you know what would be better to possess than a non-existent "high standards" document?
    ANYTHING!!!
    Thanks Adobe, for wasting another couple of hours of my workday by forcing me to look hither and yon for anything resembling a scripting reference. I wouldn't be so angry if I hadn't done this song-and-dance about a dozen times before in some form or fashion.

  • SCN 5.0/2007 - any GERMAN documentations/overviews available?

    Are there any GERMAN documentation/overviews available? http://service.sap.com/scm has only English information and powerpoints, unfortunately the people in the implementation project don´t understand them bar the fact, that English and "SAP-english terminology" are also a different languages...
    All I see translated is help.sap.com - however, this does not help in getting an overview about the possibilities of SCM...

    Thank you for your answer!
    > The only suggestion I have is to use the search feature on any of the SAP sites.  Most of them allow filtering on language.  I found hundreds of PPT and PDF docs in German, looking for the term 'SCM'.
    Well - I did not find hundreds but three pages, most of them courses and very old PPTs (APO 3.1 etc.)
    > You also might want to speak to your SAP account manager.  He might be able to provide some additional sources.
    I did so - no answer yet. I also wrote to info.germany at sap.com (which was suggested on the phone) - but here also no answer.
    Seems to be very difficult...

  • Checking links TO a specific file, please tell me this is finally available...

    OK, it's been a few years since I originally asked this question. I think it was back when I was using DW 4, or maybe 3. I'm sure there's an answer by now since we're up to version CS4, which I guess is DW 10, right? (I'm still using DW 8 because I haven't considered the new features that useful.) I did use the search but I don't see any solutions. I will be SHOCKED if this is still not a feature. I refuse to upgrade again until this feature is there as a matter of principle.
    Before I delete any document (I usually delete 5-10 each day), I check to see if any pages are linked to it. The best (fastest) way I've found is to just hit delete on the file and see if a warning message pops up from the site cache listing some pages that link to it. If so, then I use the find command to find all the pages with that filename in the source code. If no warning pops up, it's safe to remove it. I've always considered this a lame way to find out if any other pages link to a file. Even more lame (lamer?) is having to navigate through a gigantic site map or having to use the find command that rips through every single file on the site. So, can someone please tell me if I can finally right-click the file and choose something like "pages that link to this file." The data is right there in the cache, and if it can show it in the warning message, why not have a command for it?
    Thanks in advance! I'm optimistic...
    Joe

    PS: RAM = Memory as in your G4 has a max support for 2GB of DDR333/PC2700 (if you have an MDD G4).
    Disk drives are storage capacity and are usually 80-500GB (gigabyte).
    Depending on your G4 model, you may have support for large (48-bit LBA) drives greater than 120GB or not. And if not, would need a controller card.
    Based on the sizes you mention, it sure sounds like an older (much older) hard drive and probably G4. In which case you might want to look into a disk drive controller (ATA or SATA) and my advice would be to get SATA (Serial ATA) and SATA type drives.
    OS X today needs at least 10-20GB drive space, plus whatever you need for files you keep. A 2nd drive for backup. Even a drive with an emergency system.

  • SQL Developer 3.0 Final Available with Data MIner

    A new SQL Developer extension, Oracle Data Miner is the graphical user interface for Oracle Data Mining, an option to the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition. Oracle Data Mining provides in-database functionality that enables users to discover patterns and relationships hidden in their data to predict customer behavior, identify key factors, find new clusters and their profiles, anticipate and combat churn, detect anomalous behavior and solve a wide range of data-driven problems. For more information, visit Oracle Data Miner on OTN http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/options/odm/index.html

    Hi Mikka,
    Only simple PL/SQL Records are currently supported i.e. those that do not contain repeating or optional components and where all the components are themselves supported. This restriction is in place due to the fact that we use JDBC as the parameter passing mechanism which does not directly support the PL/SQL Record type.
    ANYTYPE and ANYDATA are not currently supported as they have a dynamic value type and therefore must be programmatically set. In the future, it may be possible to support these through the dynamic value and and validation features.
    This will remain so for the final version.

    Richard

  • Radiohead album art finally available - sort of

    So we all have a rather complete Radiohead collection, and now finally their catalog has been released for sale in the iTunes Store. However, the album art is not yet (directly) downloadable for those of us who have bought the CDs and ripped and encoded our own files.
    Well, the good news is that I've managed to get all my Radiohead album art from the iTunes Store with a little bit of temporary re-tagging. To get any of the album art, you'll have to change the Artist tag to Radio-head. This will allow downloads of all the mainstream studio releases. To get the album art for My Iron Lung, I had to also change the Album tag to +Lung (EP)+, and this worked fine.
    When finished downloading all your album art, just be sure to go back and re-tag your albums properly.
    Cheers!

    Interesting observation. I just had an instance where the last 12 seconds were getting chopped off of an album that I recently added to iTunes. The album art wasn't huge (700x700 px) but it was larger than I normally use. I went back and replaced that art with one with a smaller version, re-synced my iPod and now the songs play just fine.
    I know I have other songs that have exhibited this behavior in the past. I'm going to have to make sure I try this with other songs to see if it was a coincidence or not.

  • Microphones for video iPods finally available

    I just got a Belkin TuneTalk Stereo mic for my iPod and am pretty happy with the sound quality of the built-in mic. I also have a couple of Audio-Technica self-powered lapel mics that I'd previously used with a camcorder--using a splitter, I can record an interview with one mono mic in each stereo channel. This way, if I need to, I can equalize the volumes before bouncing it down to a mono podcast. The problem is that the external mics are considerably quieter than the built-in mic. Have others had experience using external mics with video iPod adapters? I'm curious how other mics and other adapters work.

    Marina, I wouldn't bother with high-quality mode for lectures. For the last podcast I did, the built-in mic with low-quality mono sounded just fine. I think the limits depend on your sound quality setting, your battery charge, and your available hard drive space. I'm sure the review meant after 90 minutes you'd have to stop recording until you either offloaded your sound file or recharged the battery (don't really know which). The iPod caches the sound to memory, then writes it to the hard drive as needed, so I'm certain they didn't mean stop and restart. I have a 60G iPod with about 20G free, so I can record a lot of interviews, but they tend to be 20 minutes or so each (in low-quality mono), so I've never come close to hitting the limit. I think the reviews at ilounge.com are pretty extensive, and should provide more info on your expected recording length. If you have a laptop and care to connect the iPod to it via USB, it'll work off of the laptop's battery, which could give you a longer recording, but again limited by your iPod's available hard drive space. Hope that helps.

  • IAS is Finally Available

    All,
    After much sweat, blood and tears the iAS for Linux files are available.
    I tested the download from the OTN page and got 12 good files. You may have to use a shift+click to get the files.
    I also created a quick and dirty script to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
    You can use the script or just read it to figure out what I did. There is also a complete readme on the ftp site that will soon be available from the download page.
    Thank you for your patience with this issue.
    Have a great weekend and enjoy.

  • Has the ExtendScript documentation been updated for FrameMaker 11?

    I have Technical Communicator Suite 4, and would like to write a simple script to automate the create of HTML Help for a FrameMaker book file.to
    (i.e. to automate the process of me opening the book file, and selecting File > Publish)
    The Publish command is new for TCS4 / FM11, however, so I don't think it's documented in the FM10 material...
    Within my script, I guess I need to know how to select values for the 4 drop-down fields in the Publish dialog? (i.e. Output type, source file, and path to the robohelp templates)

    feline,
    The scripting capabilities of FM are remarkable. It's possible that that you've found an instance where something is not easily done (or perhaps not possible), but I can assure you that just about anything else is possible. So, I'd hate for you to get a bad taste about FM scripting just due to this one issue.
    Jang,
    What client are you trying to invoke? Is it the Structure Generator on a single document? The documentation for structuring a single document has been wrong forever, so it will not work as currently advertised. If you have the right syntax, though, it works great. Here's an FDK code snippet for a document conversion that should show what you need, in case this was your issue:
    F_Sprintf(tempUChar, "INPUTDOCID %d", docId);
    F_ApiCallClient("Structure Generator", (StringT)tempUChar);
    F_Sprintf(tempUChar, "RULEDOCID %d", convTableId);
    F_ApiCallClient("Structure Generator", (StringT)tempUChar);
    F_Sprintf(tempUChar, "OUTPUTDOCNAME %s", tempPath);
    F_ApiCallClient("Structure Generator", (StringT)tempUChar);
    F_ApiCallClient("Structure Generator", "StructureDoc");
    I believe the error in the manual is that is says to call "GenerateDoc" at the end, which is wrong and does nothing.
    I remember in the past working with someone trying to structure a book and I'm not sure if we ever got that working. Maybe that was you... sorry if I forgot

    While I am in no way trying to rain on the parade, I'd like to recommend foregoing the actual "Pandora" app, in favor of the "MetroRadio Pro".  It is a definite alternative to the still-skip-limited app from Pandora.
    I believe it to be the best app for listening to Pandora.  Not only does it have a very nice gui, but it has unlimited skipping, AND is ad-free!
    It is what I use to listen to my Pandora stations on my win 8 phone.

  • Is there support for the GraphicsFmt object in FrameMaker 11 ExtendScript?

    I was reading the FDK documentation for FrameMaker 11 and I see that support has been added for Object formats using FO_GraphicsFmt.
    Is there support for the GraphicsFmt object in FrameMaker 11 ExtendScript?
    If not, when will it be added?
    Another question: Will the ExtendScript documentation ever be improved?

    Stuart,
    I am pretty sure you can use the object from ExtendScript. With the FDK documentation you should be able to guess the property names in ExtendScript, but the easiest way is to use a small test document and write a small script to get at the GraphicsFmt object. Set a breakpoint and use the Data Browser and/or JavaScript Console to see how FM uses the object.
    As for better ExtendScript documentation: I am working on a website (www.progframe.com) that will feature better documentation, combining the current docs with stuff picked up from the FDK reference and test scripts. It will also have tutorials for newbie scripters. If Adobe does not put an effort into the docs, I might as well do it and possibly pick up some scripting jobs that way. I am planning to launch the website early next year and keeping it up to date so that ExtendScript info is immediately available when a new FM version hits the market.
    Kind regards
    Jang
