Extension manager CS5 don't launch properly ... (empty menus)
Hi,
I've got only the Extension Manager CS5 menu, and no more, when I launch Extention manager CS5 on a mac os 10.6.3,
no splash screen.
I've fixed all the permissions in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
Tried to unistall Ext.manager and reinstall, nothing to do.
When I quit the app, there is a crash windows :

2. Did you accomplish an update of leopard on SnowLeopard?
Yes Snow Leopard came on an Leopard installation.
On my new MacBook Pro the manager runs problem-free!
Yes, should be a damn old thing in the /Library/Adobe (there is really
lots of things in here) or something like that, but I don't want to break
more things ...

Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5 won't launch
Hi,
As the title states the program will not launch, I have not used it since upgrading to OSX Yosemite, however I did have to reinstall CS5.5 suite after it ceased working after the update. I also installed extension manager separately today to see if it resolved the issue, it did not.
With the program crashing on launch, i did some research and attempted to work around it by installing the extension I had found via terminal, it started but also crashed before completion.

To clarify for anyone who pops in:
1. Copy file
2. Rename to "filename.zip"
3. Unzip
4. Find the relevant .jsx (script) file. (in my case there was a manual folder)
I just used browse to test, but going to move the file to the relevant folder now. -
Extension Manager CS5 will not open in Windows XP
I have been trying to install any extension in the EM CS5 and it will not open. I have removed it and re-installed several times with no luck. Is there an update or something I need to do to make this work? It will not run through Dreamweaver as well.
Thanks,1. If "C:\Documents and Settings\<YourUserName>\Application Data\Adobe\Extension Manager CS5\Configuration\Extensions\exman_uiPreferences.mxl" exists, delete this file.
2. Each CS product which Extension Manager supports has a file named XManConfig.xml. If Extension Manager can not find this file from a CS product, Extension Manager will not integrate this product. So in order to determine the cause, you can rename XManConfig.xml for all CS products temporarily (You can find this file under installation directory or its configuration sub-directory of each CS product), as a result, Extension Manager will not integrate any product.
3. Try to launch Extension Manager, if it can be launched successfully, then rename XManConfig.xml back one by one and launch Extension Manager again after each rename. If Extension Manager can not launched after you rename XManConfig.xml back for a certain product, then the problem is relevant to this product, please generate log files to assist troubleshooting. You can read other threads in this forum to learn how to generate log files. Of course, if you don't need Extension Manager to manage extensions for a specific product, you don't need restore name of XManConfig.xml for that product.
4. If Extension Manager can not be launched even if no any product is integrated,also please generate log files. -
Extension Manager CS5/Win7/64 hangs and won't open
I am on a Win7/64 running CS5. Yes, it EM worked before. Now it hangs - I have manually (thru AppData) moved the extentions over but can't turn them on becuase I can't launch EM. I have read all of these forums and tried the solutions given and nothing. I do have CS5 working on my Win desktop and my Mac desktop...so I know not only does the software work, but it does work on the Win/64 just fine.
I went back and have tried to pretty much uninstall ALL the OTHER programs that were installed AFTER CS5 when I did have EM working. I have uninstalled over 17 applications. Nothing. I uninstalled everything that is different on my laptop that I don't have on the desktop (that is running fine). Nothing.
I'm a web designer and I have THOUSANDS of dollars invested in extentions for DW. Some individuals have said on the forums that they will just have to live without EM...I can't.
I have gone into the AppData and removed the files that just don't get really removed when you "uninstall" thru the control panel.
I have read about permissions issues...I have not done anything different with permissions from before when it did work. But thoughts on that would be great. I have tried opening EM as an administrator, again, nothing.

The ExtentionManger.log is VERY long. I can only insert images or video, not files.

Problem using extension manager CS5 with command line

I had posted my question here : http://forums.adobe.com/message/4695419#4695419, but was advised to do so here as well..
I have a requirement to get the path of all the installed Extension Managers on any Windows system for the purpose of installing an extension.. I thought, there would be no problem in getting the path from the registry. There was no problem in Win XP, but the same does not work for Win 7.. I googled, and found alternate ways to get the path.
Here is the link : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/851359. I followed the instructions in this post, but failed to get this working for CS5 as mentioned in my previous thread... No problem for CS5.1 and CS6.. Why is that?
I want to get this working for CS5, CS5.1, CS6... How can I get the path of all the Extension Manager versions installed on a Windows system?
Please refer to the following screenshots to get a better understanding of my problem,
I created a jsx file named "Result.jsx", which I saved in my D drive, with the following code,

Please help!I am sorry for the poor documentation of Extension Manager which causes you so much trouble.
1. You can use BridgeTalk API to ask specific version of Extension Manager to do something. There is sample in packaging_extension.pdf about this. You don't need to know the installation path of Extension Manager. One thing to note is that the value of bt.target is version specific, i.e. "exman-5.0", "exman-5.5" send this message to different version of Extension Manager, so you can change this value to install/enable/disable/remove extensions using different version of Extension Manager. More detailed documentation of BridgeTalk can be found by clicking "Help" menu then clicking "Javascript Tools Guide CS5" in "Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS5".
2. Specific version of Extension Manager only manage extensions for corresponding version of product. You should use Extension Manager CS5 to install extensions for Photoshop CS5. The reason that the extension you installed for Photoshop CS5.1 using Extension Manager CS5.5 is displayed for Photoshop CS5 in Extension Manager CS5 is that two versions of Photoshop specified the same directory for Extension Manager to manage extensions. This is a defect and will cause some problems if multiple versions of Photoshop co-existed in one machine. But "to find previous (CS5) extension manager and to enable it" should work for you, I guess you use command line to enable it and specify wrong product name (see #3) so that it doesn't work.
3. When using command line, you should specify "product" attribute with the name displayed at the left panel of Extension Manager. So "Photoshop CS5 32" is correct. Remember to enclose it with double quote because of existence of space character.
4. As above mentioned, use display name of Photoshop, and call proper version of Extension Manager by BridgeTalk. -

I downloaded updates and installed manually, had to mess around a bit.
Start the updater from the program first, then install from the download.
Also, moved plugins that are for Premier from common plugins directory,
to the Premier plugins directory. Stopped the error I got launching After Effects
that said to reinstall the plugins.

Error Code: U43M1D207 installing Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 Update
I've searched for this error and read the replies. None of them helped.
I'm running PS CS5 Extended, version 12.0.4. It was just moved onto a new computer. Other Adobe products include Acrobat XI Pro and Reader XI.
After the software was installed on the new computer, I updated Acrobat and Reader with no problems. When I updated PS, IIRC, some updates installed properly, but Extension Manager CS5 5.0 will not install.
I tried manually installing AEM CS5 5.0. It installed without error, but PS doesn't seem to recognize it.
This problem was not happening on my old computer.
Any suggestions?I spent more time reading the related posts on this topic and found a work-around, which was to set the clock on the PC back. The post I found mentioned October 2011, so I used October 1, 2011. That worked. PS updated completely with no errors.

Extension Manager CS5.5 does not open (Windows 7)
I've seen lots of issues in the forums about the extension manager not working, and I've tried every suggestion I can find to no avail. It was working just fine a few weeks ago, but now when I try to start it, the window doesn't open and I have to kill the process from the task manager. I've tried 'Run as administrator', and giving myself full permissions on the Extension Manager folders in the Users directory. I uninstalled and reinstalled the EM. Nothing seems to help.
I put an ExManLog.YES file in the directory where the extension manager is installed. I don't see any errors in the log file that is generated:

I need the EM for use with Flash Professional CS5. I can't open the EM from the executable or from within Flash. Any help getting this to work would be greatly appreciated.Thank you Carl for your suggestions.
It turned out not to be a permission issue. My issue, like a previous poster, was the Flashbug Firefox plug-in. Once I removed Flashbug from the path you specified everything worked like a charm.
Again, thank you VERY much for your guidance. I’m glad this was relatively easy to resolve. I would have hated to uninstall and reinstall only to have the same issue.

Where is Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0?
My computer tells me Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 is an update I should load. I can't find it anywhere on Adobe's downloads for photoshop web site. Where do I find it? I'm using windows 8.1.
DavidI have done a clean install of my system (Win 7 64 Bit) and therefore a clean install of my CS suite. I have applied all the updates that I can get from the manual download page on the Adobe site for CS5 software. The 'Adobe Application Manager' still says an update is required for the ' Adobe Extension Manager'
The download takes place but the file is corrupted. I get the error message:

There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D207"
I have tried to get the update several times, so maybe be you could look in to this to ascertain whether the 'Adobe Application Manager' is not functioning correctly, or the file on the download site is actually corrupted! It would be great to get this sorted out or better yet make a manual download available to the end user, who by buying the software expects to get a better service from Adobe!! -
How do you update Extension Manager CS5 for Lion?
I can't get the Extension Manager update to work since I installed Lion on my Mac. What do you do to stop this error:

I've tried re-installing it & that does no good, I get the same message. How do I upt AEM CS5 on a Lion Mac?Can you uninstall Extension Manager successfully? Was it still in file system after the uninstallation? Can you reboot your Mac and try again?
You can also check installation log files of Extension Manager in /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers. Try to find any clue for the issue, or paste the content here.
If all of these still do not help, you may need to do more:
1. Back up all files stored in Adobe product directories. This may include custom plug-ins or profiles you have installed.
2. Uninstall all Adobe Create Suite products.
3. Download Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool from http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html, and following steps in the page to clean your system.
4. Reinstall all Adobe Creative Suite products.
5. Update Extension Manager with http://download.macromedia.com/pub/dw_exchange/extension_manager/mac/A dobeExtensionManager_5_0_2_mul_AdobeUpdate.dmg -
Do I need Extension Manager CS5.5?
I have Photoshop CS5.5 installed but I hardly use it. The only time I do use it is when Photoshop CC won't perform for me for whatever reason.
I have Extension Manager for both of them and I would like to see Extension Manager CS5.5 gone. Can it be done as I cannot find it anywhere to uninstal?There should be a uninstall link in "Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers". But it will not really remove EM CS5.5 if PS CS5.5 still exists. If you do want EM gone, you can simply delete "Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5" folder.

Guten Abend Community, erst einmal bin ich neu hier und leider auch hier, da ich ein Problem habe welches ich einfach nicht gelöst bekomme.
Ich musste mein System kommplett neu Installieren und habe anschließend Adobe Web Premium 5 Installiert was auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert, anschließend habe ich die Updates durcheführt welches auch fast ohne Probleme läuft qalle anderen Updates wurden Installiert bis auf die in der fehlermeldung. was kann ich da machen damit das nicht mehr auftritt ?
PS: Davor ging das auch problemlos, das System habe ich erst vor 3 Tagen neu Aufgesetzt.

Wenn noch fragen offen sind einfach fragen, ich würde gerne das Problem so schnell wie möglich lösen....Ja wie gesagt es hat davor auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert nur war ich gezwungen das System neu zu Installieren und ab dann konnte ich die da oben genannten Updates nicht mehr Installieren. Ein Mac ist zwar eine schöne Sache kommt aber für mich nie in Frage da ich mein PC als Arbeitsrechner und Gamer Rechner nutze und das meiste läuft halt nicht auf einen Mac und man müsste manche Programme neu Kaufen, das sehe ich überhaupt nicht ein, und meine Anwendungen werden aus Prinzipien nicht für Apple Produkte entwickelt da verdient man kaum etwas... aber das muss jeder für sich entscheiden. An eine neue Version habe ich eventuell nächstes Jahr gedacht aber auch nur die CS6 ob man das brauch ist die Frage da CS 5 genau macht was es soll. Das Modell mit der Adobe Cloud hat zwar denn Vorteil das die Programme Aktuell sind aber man muss Monatlich dafür Zahlen und CS5/CS6 oder älter brauch man nur einmal Kaufen. Darüber hinaus finde ich eh das Adobe so eine richtige S*** ist wenn es um Support ältere Programme geht so zeigt Adobe meiner Meinung nach das Ihre Produkte nichts wert sind zumindest macht es den Anschein. Aber wie gesagt, bin ich hier um Hilfe zu bekommen um das Problem zu lösen ohne ein neue Version zu kaufen, das ist ja bekanntlich die einfachste Lösung, aber wenn Informatiker auch so denken würden dann würde es sehr schlecht aussehen... und als Anmerkung am Rande, es wäre ja nett wenn man mir denn Link dieser Updates zukommen lassen könnte um die Updates Manuell zu Installieren.

Dies kann man in voraus natürlich nicht aber in nachhinein geht das und Software Entwickler denn etwas an Ihre Produkte liegt, machen das nachhinein auch und passen gegebenenfalls Ihr Produkt an.
PS: CS 2 läuft ebenfalls auf einem Windows 8.1 rechner ;-) -
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 wont work on Windows 7 Pro x64 only on XP Mode in Virtual PC

I run Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe as Admin and the log files has only 3 lines

I noticed that the drive d: doesn't exist on my computer; there was only Local Disk (C:) and HP_TOOLS (F:)
I have installed Adobe Creative Suite CS5 in Windows XP Mode in Virtual PC and Adobe Extension Manager CS5 runs OK but I am in Windows XP pro SP3 not in Windows 7 Professional x64
How do I make to run Adobe Creative Suite CS5 correctly in Windows 7 Professional 64 bit operating systemI have the same problem.
I installed Dreamweaver CS5 and Adobe Exchange Manager for CS5 too in my Lenovo 760p Windows 7 x64.

I tried to open the extension manager as Adminstrator and not open.
Please tell us what is the issue?
I bought all the webassist extensions but i can´t install for it.
