Extensive and dependent forms

Hello everyone.
The scenario is the following:
There is some forms that need to be fill out sometimes by the customer side and others by company side. The initial form will be filled out by the customer and some of those data are required on the another forms.
How could LiveCycle help?
I've seem something about export/import data using XML. How that works?
Thanks in advance!
Diego

You can use xfa.datasets.data.loadXML(xml to load, param1, param2).
Where param1 is a boolean value that indicates whether the root node of the Dom should be ignored, in this case the children will appear under the root node. False if the root node of the incoming XML should be appended to the current Dom Root. Param2 is also a boolean that indicates whether to replace the current content or not.
You should not overwrite the current Dom as that is what is being mapped to your loaded form. So put the imported data into a new node.
Now that it is loaded you can place a large multi-line field on the form and you can dump the dom into that field to see what it lookslike. To do this use: BigField.rawValue = xfa.datasets.data.exportData("pretty"); Put this on a button so you can be sure that everything is set up before you check the Dom. The pretty flag is only used to make the XML more readable.
Now that we know what the Dom looks like we can now start using it.We simply navigate our way to the node(s) that we want. To access individual nodes you can use expressions like this:
var test = xfa.datasets.data.form1.Page1.Field1.value
Note the use of the value property and not the rawValue when dealing with a node in the DOM. If you want to deal with multiple nodes
var objs = xfa.datasets.data.form1.Pag1.nodes
Now we can look at the length of objs to know how many nodes we have and you can loop through the objects using objs[i] notation.
This should be enough to get you going.

The list of extensions for InDesign now have a yellow triangle warning symbol in front of a good many of the extensions and when moused over i get one of two messages:
"Extensions may not function properly because it does not meet the dependency condition."
    OR

The reason I opened the Extension Manager in the first place was to check to see if I had installed a third party extension.  And I was presented with these warning symbols.  I haven't added anything, I haven't done anything that would cause this.
Does anyone know how to fix this???
I am running OSX 10.9.5; Indesign CS6 version 8.0.2 And Adobe Extension Manager version  6.0.8.28.

Many InDesign pre-installed extensions (Those extensions you have immediately after InDesign installation) define dependency rules in their mxi files. Dependency means that one extension works well only if one or more other extensions are installed and enabled. If this condition is not met, the yellow triangle warning will be shown.
You can select an extension with warning, click "Advanced" tag page in the lower right panel. You will see "This extension has dependency on: <extension name> ...". Check whether every extensions listed here are available and enabled. If not, enable them. Repeat these steps for all the extensions which have warning.

  • What is the diff b\w open form and start form in scripts.

    Hi,
can any one tell me what is the diff andb\w open form and start form in scripts.when we should use open form and when start form.

    Hi Friend.
I have understood some usefull information and would like to share with you.
Within one transaction, you can open and close several layout sets using OPEN_FORM and
CLOSE_FORM, however not simultaneously. You can use parameters in the OPEN_FORM to control
whether the output is stored in the same print request. But also the SAP spool decides,
depending on several plausibility checks, whether new output is appended to an existing
print request or whether to create a new print request anyway.
    CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'CLOSE_FORM'
You cannot combine ABAP/4 list output and SAPscript output in one print request.
    START A LAYOUT SET AGAIN
Usually a print program does not print only one urging letter or one account statement, but
several layout sets for different customers. To have the output for each customer begin with
the start page of the layout set, you must start the current layout set again and again.
To start a layout set again, you must first end the current layout set and then open the
layout set again. Within one print request, first call the function module END_FORM. It
executes the final processing for the current layout set. Then start the layout set again
using START_FORM. Output then begins again on the start page of the desired layout set.
    CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'START_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'END_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'START_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION 'END_FORM'
    CALL FUNCTION CLOSE_FORM
    Hope your obstacle is cleared.
If not do ask me again?

  • Any limitation on number of fill and print forms I can post on my website and have external users with Reader fill in, print and mail to me? (I don't need/want them to be able to fill and save data.)

I would like to post fillable only forms to the public but not give them the option to save or email the filled in form. If they want a copy of what they've filled in, they must print it.
I believe I can do this by just creating a fillable PDF and posting it without adding any reader extension capabilities. I also believe there is no limitation, as there is for fill and save forms as per this other post I read: Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Enable Reader users to save form data.
My IT department is telling me they will not allow me to post fillable PDFs online due to a "license limitation" so I started researching this myself, and the above link is the only thing I've found. While that post specifically outlines the limitations on saving filled in forms, I'm really looking for something that specifically tells me that there is no limitation on fillable, non-saveable (yes, I know that's not a word...) forms.
If anyone can provide additional information for me, I'd appreciate it. Or, if I'm completely wrong in my belief and there's a limitation either way, feel free to set me straight. I'd rather know the correct answer than be right!
    Thanks!!

If you don't Reader-enable a document, then there are no licensing restrictions involved. Note that Reader 11 and all versions of Acrobat are able to save non-enabled forms, unlike previous versions.
The question should not be whether a form is savable, but rather whether you used Acrobat to add usage rights to the form AND you (the licensee) plan on receiving filled-in instances (including hardcopies) of it. The simplest way is to not Reader-enable the form and convince your users to use Reader 11 (or Acrobat) if they want to save.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Buttons and Sub Forms

Been new to LiveCycle, I have managed to create some basic forms but would like to know the best way of creating a menu and depending on which menu choice the user makes then only subform appears and the others are invisible. So if the user is offered options A B or C and selects B then they are then taken to that Subform. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
LC Designer can handle this, you just need to give a full enough reference to the object that you want to access.
So for example if the subform was on page5 and the dropdown was on page1, the script in the dropdown would look something like this:
    page5.flowedSubform.optionA.presence = "hidden";
You drag on subforms where you want to group objects, so that for example you can change their presence or have flowed content. You don't have to create subforms - you can just drag objects onto the page and access them individually. Its up to you.
There are various online guides on the Adobe website.

And a very handy resource (and while it is for version 6 it is still very good because of the way it is laid out):http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/tips/CalcScripts.pdf
JP Terry's book on LC Forms is very good and we use www.pdfscripting.com (which is a subscription service).
The help file also helps with syntax and LC Designer comes with templates/examples.

  • BPF configuration: parallel and dependent steps

    Hi all,
I have a BPF of let say 5 steps regarding 5 input form.
step 1 is the main step and inputted by budget team.It is the rates input form.
step 2 is the sales volume step and depend on step 1 (like other steps) inputted by sales team.
step 3 is the sales discount step and depend on step 1 -2 inputted by budget team.
step 4 is the cost step depend on step 1-2 and can be performed regardless of step 3 and inputted by finance team.
step 5 is the distribution of costs to sales cube to see the profitableness and depend on step 1-2-4 .
As you see there are both parallel and related steps.Of course there are many other steps but they are similar so I summarized them as 5 steps.
Note that sales cube consists of sales  group and cost cube consists of cost center( candidates for drive dimension)
Let me depict the scheme  for that:
I could not achieve this by creating steps of openning criteria as "matched " or creating more than 1 template and instance. I want to know whether it is possible or there is a workaround.

I am joking Güneş Of course I have an idea. First of all, i have some question about your modelling.
If you will make these activities in same model, it is possible.
1- all or matched it does not matter
    2- matched
    4- matched
    5 - all
    3 - matched
    i hope, it will work.
    Good luck bro

  • Reader Extension and Submit Button

    Hi,
I reader extended a form with the Reader extension web application.
The issue is when I start the process in the workspace and my form is open, the submit is not embed anymoe in the workspace.
How could I fix that ?

When a PDF Form is shown in Workspace, the LC server actually attempts to make a modification to the form (called "augmentation") in which a scripting bridge is added to the form. This happens inside the Render Service used to show the form. Workspace needs this to happen so that it can instruct Acrobat/Reader in the browser to hide the submit button, thus allowing the Workspace UI buttons to be used instead. I know that if the PDF Form is signed then LC will not attempt to make this modification in case it breaks the signature. This is what might be happening here because when you reader extend a PDF there is actually a signature applied.
If this is the cause I can think of two suggestions off hand:
    - You might consider Reader Extending the Form on demand as part of your render service by uploading your Reader Extensions Credential (the p12 / .PFX file) to Trust Store and then using it with the Reader Extensions Service in a new version of your render service.
    - You can use LC Designer to add the "Form Bridge" to your form before you reader extend it with the web application and place it in your repository.

  • Can we call a workflow form a JSP and/or form a Java Class?

Is it possible to call a workflow form a JSP and/or form a Java Class?

Below is some xpress code I wrote once, used to dynamically lauch workflows from within a workflow. Since it basically uses java classes, you reuse these in your java program or jsp:
    - create a new generic object
    - call the setId, put, ... methods on it
    - set the input variables for the workflow by putting them into the generic object
    - call the checkinView method on a LighthouseContext object which launches your workflow.
If all you need is starting a workflow from a jsp, you might also want to take a look at the tasks/taskLaunch.jsp jsp. This is an out of the box jsp which allows launching of tasks. If I remember correctly you have to give an url parameter which specificies the name of task you want to start: tasks/taskLaunch.jsp?id=<workflow-name>

  • Difference between Smart Forms and Adobe Form

    Hi all,
What are disadvantages of Smart form in SAP ,
What is difference between Smart Forms and Adobe interactive Form.
I heard from someone that in future Adobe interactive Form will repalce smart forms. Is it true or not
    Best Regards
    Srikanth

    Hi,
Companies depend on formal documents that reflect their corporate identities and contain critical business information from live systems. SAP and Adobe partnered for automating and streamlining forms-based communication to support customers who create reusable forms for their business processes.
SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe will be used more and more as a way of simplifying and automating manual processes.
There are various advantages of Adobe forms.
SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe provides all the features and functions you need to create form-based output, such as order confirmations, invoices, or pay slips. You can either print such documents or send them by email or FAX.
    <b>Online Interactive Forms</b>
A user logs on to the company intranet to fill in a form required by the HR department (for example, a Non-Disclosure Agreement to be signed by a new employee). The form is displayed in the browser.
As the user is logged on in the background to the company's HR system, his master data is displayed in the form. The user enters the required information in the fillable fields of the interactive form, and sends the data back to the system by pushing a button. The system extracts the data from the form and saves it in the database.
    <b>Offline Interactive Forms</b>
The purchasing department of a company creates a bid in its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and selects the potential vendors. Based upon this data, the system automatically creates interactive bidding forms with specific vendor information, such as the address or contact person.
The forms are transmitted to the vendors by email. The vendors can fill out the forms offline (without being connected to the system that created the forms) and transmit them back to the company. The company then processes the forms automatically, and the data provided by the vendors is written to the ERP system. The purchasing department uses the data to evaluate the quotation and then issues an order.
<b>With the integration of Adobe PDF technology into its solutions, SAP will be able to further extend its offerings of end-to-end business solutions by:</b>
Providing for the first time the capabilities of Adobe's interactive PDF-based forms.
Integrating PDF documents into business processes that are driven by SAP applications.
Automating the process of moving XML data from SAP applications into interactive forms and vice versa.
Reducing time to design, manage, and maintain extended forms-based processes through easy-to-use forms design and deployment tools.
Offering its customers enhanced printing capabilities, in particular for interactive Web applications.
The focus of new forms technology from SAP is interactive PDF-based forms that can be created in SAP systems as a result of the <b>integration of Adobe technology with Web Dynpro and the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.</b> This integration means that adobe is the future technology.
    Regards,
    Kate

  • Reader Extensions and Oracle

After discovering Reader Extensions I believe this is my way forward in producing interactive questionnaire from my Oracle Reports.
Has anyone any experience with integrating Reader Extensions with Oracle Forms and Reports?
    Thanks

    Hi Paul
Okay thanks very much for clearing this up, so basically is this correct:
Adobe Acrobat you can use it to view, save and add attachments to LiveCycle
    forms.
Adobe Reader you can use it to view and save LiveCycle forms provided that
it has been Reader Extended in Adobe Acrobat.
If you want Adobe Reader to add attachments to LiveCycle forms you have to
buy a LiveCycle Server (and I wont ask how much that costs!)
    Thanks

A special kind of objects are client-<u>dependent </u>repository objects. These objects have to be treated specially in the way that they have to be imported into their specific target client. In contrast, client-independent repository objects can be imported into any client.
