Facebook friends in my contacts

I have ALOT of just gaming friends on facebook and now my phone has added them all to my contacts. And thier pictures, how do I get rid of it all, I dont have days to sit and do it one by one. Help. So hating this phone right now.. Mt 30 days arent up may have to take it back.

I had that problem too go to your contacts then hit the 4 square button next to home then choose display options you will see choose contact to display choose Facebook then it will show you all contacts and unmark the checked box then click save on the bottom left and it will hide those facebook contacts hope this helps.

they are deleted permanently off your phone
but they will forever be tied to your appleID so you can redownload them for free there is no way around that but they are not taking up storage or anything when they live in purchase

I just figured it out! I set the email account I am using to try to send the photos as my default account by going to General > Settings > Mail > scrolling down to Default Account. Mine was set as my iCloud account. I switched it to gmail and now I can send photos.

I don't want Facebook friends synced to Contacts.

In order to use Facebook from Preview and other apps, I need to login to Facebook. But then it says when I do that all Facebook friends will be imported into my Contacts, which I do not want. But I DO want to be able to sync Contacts through iCloud to my other devices. So how do I enable Facebook, not let it download friends to my Contacts, but keep other Facebook iCloud syncs?

OK, if I go where you said and enter my Facebook info, I get this message: "Signing into Facebook will: Download your Facebook friends to the Contadcts app...Allow you to post status update etc to Facebook...Enable apps to work with your Facebook account. In System Prefs you can disable Contacts syncing and disallow any app from accessing your Facebook account."
So it sounds like I only have two choices: To have all my Facebook friends in my Contacts (which I don't want; what a mess to scroll past them all on my phone) or to disable Contacts syncing, which will not allow all my contacts to stay synced between devices, right?

When I try to load my phone contacts, my facebook friends are listed in my contacts as well (if they've posted their phone number or email address on facebook). I do not want all of those random contacts in my phone, only the ones I have put in there! Is there any way to unsync the facebook contacts to my phone contacts?

When i sync my friends from facebbok to the contacts it does all the stuff saying its downloading all of them but they never appear on my Contacts anywhere? Im not sure if im doing something wrong or not but i just can not figure it out.

You have to first tell iTunes where you want your contacts stored. The option is Yahoo, Google or Windows. Once you've set up your contacts on your computer, in one of those locations, you then tell iTunes where the contacts come from (again, Yahoo, Google or Windows) to your iPad. From then on, when you sync, your contacts will stay where you wanted them. To see what I'm suggesting, you open the device, by clicking on it from the left hand side of your iTunes screen. Once your iPad device is open in iTunes, click on the Information tab above and that's where your contacts are directed from.

New Facebook friends not showing up in contacts.

When I first got my phone I added my Facbook information into the Droid 2 accounts and it added all of my Facebook friends into my contacts on its own. My question is, does the phone automatically add new friends? I added a new friend on Facebook today and its not showing up in the contacts on my phone. This is a HUGE problem for me. I don't know what setting I change to ull my facebook friend info into my icloud contacts files on all devices, but I want to reverse it and make them gone!!!! I am continually amazed at how specific to each device these settings can be, or at least how specific they can seem. chrisfromgastonia, I did figure out that unchecking contacts in the facebook settings on my iphones solved the bulk of the problem. However, there wasn't a facebook groups to uncheck in my list of groups. Likewise Smith121, there was no facebook account enabled in my contacts application on my computer, so I could not do that. However, I do have another groups related question. Ever since this last update pulled all my facebook contacts into my synchronized contacts, the groups function on my contacts doesn't work anywhere. All that happens is that if I try to access a specific group, the check mark beside the name of the group gets unchecked. I used to be able to select a group and then have the full list of members of the group come up and only those names. No more, there is no accessing the members of the groups, only the names of the groups to look at which does NOTHING AT ALL to help me. Any ideas? Advice?

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

Hi From what I have been reading and researching. You can turn off the FB and Tw feature from coming in. One user reported that they turned it off and all was fine. Another said they turned it off and later it would come back. So I'm not sure if that has to do with OS ver. or locked or unlocked and or if it may be carrier related and the way the phone is setup?
Do a little research, try turning that FB and Tw feature off for contact being brought in, etc

Same thing happened to me. What I did was:
Go to Settings, go to Facebook, look at where it says: “These programmes can use your account” and switch off Contacts. Doing that deleted the double contacts I had on my phone and only left the original ones. Because let’s face it, I am friends with many people on Facebook who I’d never call.

Why have my contacts disappeared and been replaced with some Facebook friend names?

A few days ago, all of my contacts disappeared and were replaced by the names of SOME of my Facebook friends. None of these have any telephone contact information, it's all email addresses associated with those Facebook friends. For instance, my husband's name, emails and phone numbers were all deleted from my contacts - help!

Look under iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is there a backup listed for her phone? First thing done when you sync is an iPhone backup. If you have not synced since screwing her phone up, restoring from that backup(if it exists) should restore her content. Do not sync after you restore her phone, eject it. So, first disable auto-sync on that same device pane in iTunes before you proceed. If this doesn't work, is your sister bigger than you? If so, run 'cause her data is gone .

Contact import including facebook friends

Looks like I have a whole bunch of facebook friends intermingled with my regular contacts. I do not want my facebook contacts in my phone. How can I unsync them without manually having to delete them one at a time. There are over 500 I want to delete.

To change this setting, please try opening your Contacts application and pulling down on the top of the screen to open the Settings Menu. Then scroll down to Facebook in the Contact List and change the button to Off. Hit Back, then please close and re-open your Contacts application. That should remove all your Facebook contacts from your Address Book.
