Facebook uploader doesn't work

I can't get photos to upload to Facebook any more. When I click on the "facebook" icon in iPhoto '09 I get the set-up dialogue. After I login and close the drop-down pane, the dialogue pops back up asking me if I want to set it up again. The set-up loop won't stop. Clearly there's a bug. Has anyone been able to get it to work?

Quit iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preferences file - "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist
Launch iPhoto and a new default preference file will be created - reset any preferences you have changed and repoint iPhoto to the iPhoto library if you have changed it location

It is peculiar, that Chrome, Safari, and Skype can access FB, but not the iPhoto uploader.
Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:
    Type
    ping facebook.com
into the window. Do you see any transmissions? What is the IP address used?
    I see:

  • Picassa iPhoto uploader doesn't work in iPhoto 08 anymore

    Hi
I post some of my photos on Picassa. With iPhoto 07, no prb: I downloaded the Picassa iPhoto uploader, and from iPhoto, I used to be able to export my albums easily. But I upgraded to iPhoto 08 few days ago, and just realized there's a bug, and the Picassa uploader doesn't work anymore: after formatting the pictures, the process freezes during the 'Create Album' step, my mac fan starts to run crazy, and I have to cancel the operation. I deleted and reinstalled the uploader, same thing. I can still use the uploader to load picture in Picassa from Finder directly, but I think it was easier and sleeker to do it from iPhoto. I'm disappointed to find such a bug. Has anyone else met that problem with Picassa, or with any other uploader? Is there a solution?
    Thanks
    Laurent

You'll have to wait until Picasa and the other plugin developers update their plugins to be compatible with iPhoto 7. The ball's in their court.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Upload doesn't Work

i´m Building an online Folio. Everythings just worked fine …
But suddenly the Upload doesn´t work anymore … as adding an article … the builder doesn´t upload the files anymore :-(

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
Is there any error message? Have you tried both the WiFi and the data connections to isolate the issue? Have you also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the application?
You can also try to clear the browser's cache. To do this, go to Web > Options or tap on the arrow > select the gear icon > Privacy > Clear privacy data > Cache.
    Hope this helps.

  • Uploading doesn't work on Safari

I need to upload photos on etsy, and it doesn't work on my defaul Safari browser. Never had problems before, even uploading to the same website(Etsy)
    Used Camino - no problems.
Any idea what might be the reason ?
Everything is up to date, incl. Safari 5.1.2 with Lion.
    Thanks!

Empty your Safari cache and try resetting Safari from the menu bar.
And go to Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click Details
Type   etsy   in the search field  then click Remove All > Done
Now disable the Lion "resume" feature. Go to System Preferences > General
Deselect:    Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Restart your Mac, launch Safari. See if you can upload photos now.

  • Facebook upload no longer working ("no photos in this album")

I've shared photos from Aperture to Facebook in the past, and it has worked just fine. But now, when I try to create a new album or upload photos to an existing album, they don't appear on facebook.com.
It does take time to upload, and I do see network activity as if it's actually uploading the photos... They just don't show up in the album on Facebook:
Is anyone else having this problem?

I am having this same problem.  The album is being created, but no pictures are showing up in it, despite Aperture reporting no errors.  Repeatedly syncing doesn't seem to fix the problem.

  • Facebook Sync doesn't work

First, English is not my native language, so please excuse any mistakes.
I don't know if my problem is specific to OS X Mavericks, as I never used Facebook in Mountain Lion.
I wanted to use the Facebook sync for Contacts and Calendar, so I added my Facebook account into OS X accounts. I entered the email address that I use for Facebook and my password.
Whenever one of my Facebook friends posts something, I get a notificcation in the Notification center. So I thought everything was fine.
But the sync for Contacts and Calendar doesn't seem to work.
When I open Contacts, in the Facebook group, only my card shows up. There are no cards for my friends. When I open console, I see this error message:
    06.11.13 21:51:44,508 Contacts[906]: AOSKit WARN: Invalid url: https://MY_EMAIL_ADDRESS%[email protected]/15_DIGIT_NUMBER/
Also, throughout the day I see the following error message numerous times:
    06.11.13 21:27:56,150 AddressBookSourceSync[891]: AOSKit WARN: Invalid url: https://MY_EMAIL_ADDRESS%[email protected]/15_DIGIT_NUMBER/
The same goes for the Calendar. None of my Facebook events show up in the Calendar. The following error shows up in Console:
    06.11.13 16:42:09,371 CalendarAgent[181]: AOSKit WARN: Invalid url: https://MY_EMAIL_ADDRESS%[email protected]/15_DIGIT_NUMBER/
I can't really understand why this error is happening, because Facebook still works in the Notification Center.
Anyone else had this or a similar problem and know a solution? Thanks!

I just noticed the same thing today. On Mountain Lion I had the Facebook birthdays sync to my Calendar and have the same set up on Mavericks. However, this past weekend was a close friends birthday, who I am friends with on Facebook yet I never received the notification in Notification Center. I then looked at my Calendar and noticed it wasn't even on there. I looked in to it further and I am only syncing 25 contacts from Facebook in my Contacts app when I have over 500 friends. Looking in Console I saw the following error:
    11/6/13 9:57:06.294 PM AddressBookSourceSync[2505]: AOSKit WARN:  Invalid url: https://my email%[email protected]/9 digit number/
This may be a facebook server error causing this problem, but I find it strange that it is happening only after my clean install to Mavericks.

  • Facebook Upload Won't Work

I installed iLife '09 earlier today, and tonight I tried to upload my first album to Facebook.
I logged in just fine, and it went through "Uploading Thumbnails..." etc. and finished.
But no photos appear in Facebook. There is also no web link at the top of the album like it says there should be. When I close and reopen iPhoto, the "broadcasting" publish bars are not beside the album anymore.
I have rebooted twice, made sure I am up to date on all software, and have repaired permissions.
Anyone else having an issue? Or have any suggestions?

Thanks! I was having this issue also, and since it was the first album I tried to upload I didn't realize it was just that album that wasn't working. Too bad we can't leave the & in there...

  • DTP with upload doesn't work

    Hello guys,
    I need your help.
I'm having a strange symptom. I have created a simple DTP to transfer data fom one Cube to another.
If I execute the DTP with delta upload it works fine and transfer all data, but if I change it to full upload it says that the source don't have data.
    Can somebody explain this?
    Many thanks,
    João Arvanas

    Hi,
You are right, but i have already done that. I deleted all delta loads and changed DTP to Full upload.
I have created inumerous DTPs and definitely DTPs with full upload don't retrive data.
I'm thinking in sending a note to SAP.
    Do you agree?
    Best regards,
    João Arvanas

  • Facebook post doesn't work

Hello folks. I have a problem with my Mountail Lion Mac OS. Both social options (Twitte and Facebook) doesn't make any actions when I click. I have both configured in System Preferences.
    Regards,
    Marcos

My little SOP for a clean installation is very simple.
    1. Clean install of Mountain Lion
    2. Installs and restarts of major updates to Mountain Lion, that includes this supplemental update
    3. Installs of other Apple related updates like iTunes, RAW compatibility updates etc.
    4. Repair disk permissions
    5. Installs of third party apps and drivers with necessary restarts
    6. Installs of third party simple apps without needing restarts
    7. Installs and updates of third party apps on the Mac App Store
Like I said, I have no issues after step 4.
I'm narrowing down the problem to step 5, and I think I might have narrowed down the offending third party app that may cause this.
I will be notifying Apple of my findings once I'm certain of the cause since Apple has already assigned a senior technician to look over my case.
And as far as I know, there are 2 supplemental updates after 10.8.2, but I believe the most recent one is only applicable for 2012 Macs. Mine is 2010, and when the above problem occurred, there were no further software updates from Apple listed under Mac App Store that requires my attention.

Contact Facebook developers as it's up to them, not Sony, to address this app issues.

  • Share youtube to facebook button doesn't work :(

    Hi,
just upgraded Safari to 5.1.4 running an iMac on 10.7.3, now the share button on youtube doesn't function. It's ok on Firefox, looks like I need to abandon Safari (Again!)

    Ok .. try this.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab.
    Click Delete All ...
Then select the Advanced tab. Click Delete All
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.
And since you have v10.7.3 installed, if you haven't already done so, disable the Lion "resume" feature.
    Open System Preferences > General
Deselect:  Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
Restart your Mac, launch Safari. Try a video.
