FaceTime email not verifiable

Hi
I can't get FaceTime on my iPad or iMac to work. This seems to be an apple ID issue. Can anyone help out?
My apple ID is my old mac.com email address. I am not allowed to change this, and it is of course my iTunes and app store ID. However, I let that mac.com account lapse and created a new me.com account. I then set the primary email address on my iTunes account to my new me.com address, of course.
So, my apple ID is '[email protected]'m and has a primary email address which is '[email protected]' (not real addresses, of course). Meanwhile, [email protected] is also an apple ID, isn't it, but one I use for MobileMe facilities.
Now, when I use FaceTime, I have to use the apple ID associated with my iTunes account ([email protected]). When I try to log in, it recognises my apple ID (oldemail) but when I get to the page where it asks for my email address to associate with FaceTime, it says it can't verify it (newemail). Result: I can't use FaceTime.
I've gone to appleid.apple.com, and logged into my apple ID account. Next to my primary email address it says 'unverified' (which might explain why the FaceTime app hangs at that stage) and next to that a link that says 'verify now'. Looks good. But, when I click on that link, nothing happens - the page just refreshes. I receive no verification email. I tried to click that link on my ipad, my macbook, my imac, and even in font if a genius bar worker in an apple flagship store - same result, the page just refreshes. So I can never use FaceTime.
I emailed apple support, and unhelpfully they tell me my account is verified. I know that, but why can't I verify my primary email address? Could it be because my primary email address is also a second apple ID (for MobileMe)? If so, do I have to change the primary email address on my apple email account to a non-apple email address? In other words, is it the case that there is no way I can use my only active apple email address as my FaceTime address?
Hope you follow? Any solutions out there that would let me use my MobileMe email address as my FaceTime address on iPad and iMac?

I've also had this issue and it beggars belief that they could have something so stupid as a policy.
I have no less than 8 Apple devices that I use actively not to mention the family who  have more.
I have an Itunes account and have bought a load of music and movies etc.
I also (foolishly) took a MobileMe subscription and hardly used it.
Now, when I try to register for Facetime I can't register the one and only email address that I use.
Apple support says even though they have been using that for purchases on Itunes, App Store, MobileMe, etc etc, I cannot use it for Facetime! And Facetime requires the address so people who know me and know my one and only email address can call me on Facetime.
No, instead, I must use another new email address!!
How totally stupid.
Support are really unhelpful on this issue as well. They keep talking about multiple accounts and the address being used on these accounts. These accounts are Itunes, MobileMe. And who do they belong to?? One person, ME!!!
The last reply from support today was:
Dear Roger,
Unfortunately, there is no further information we have to offer and have now addressed all your concerns. This case is now considered closed. any further contact regarding this issue will be unanswered. However you are welcome to contact us if you need help with something other then this case.
Thank you for understanding.

Ah, NO! You have not addressed my concerns.
It is almost like they don't want any existing clients on Itunes and MobileMe to use Facebook.
I don't get it???? Help........

My facetime is not verifying my email though it shows an email has been sent for verification but no email is received. How can I have my facetime back.. Pls help.

I have it set up on both of mine and I know she has the app what I would have to check is if it is enable in hers, although prior to the cancellation of service she used to be able to make the calls, my concern is why I can't which is possible that it needs to be enable. Thank you!

  • I have two Apple ID's associated with my e-mail and Facetime will not verify the one I use.  How can I eliminate the other ID?

I am running to into a problem using Facetime as I seem to have two Apple ID's attached to my e-mail.  Facetime will not verify my e-mail address because it is associated with the other account.  What can I do???

Some things are mixed up here, seemingly...
I seem to have two Apple ID's attached to my e-mail.
An Apple ID is a valid email address, apparently. How can those be "attached to your email"... what email?
Facetime will not verify my e-mail address because it is associated with the other account.
This doesn't make sense. You can register multiple, even non-Apple-ID, email addresses and their aliases with FaceTime.
So, maybe you can explain your problem better - what you want and the steps you've taken and what you have so far. If something doesn't work, please tell the exact error message, too.

  • Why can't I use iCloud it keeps saying my email not verified  .... ,,,?

Why can't I use iCloud it keeps saying my email not verified but even tho I changed email in appleid.com and have signed into this forum with exactly same details it keeps telling me it's wrong .... Sooooooooo very very stressful

You have to respond to the verification email that Apple sends you by clicking on the Verify Now link.  Make sure you are check the email address you used to set up your iCloud account.  Also make sure you check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.
If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

  • Email not verified

My email is not working. Say not verified

    Hello Abdulla Moulana,
As I understand it you are trying to use your Apple ID with your iOS device but it keeps telling you it is not verified. You should be able to get that verified with the verification email that you should have recieved when setting up your account. If you did not receive it, I would use the information in this article:
If you didn't receive your verification or reset email
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Facetime is not "verifying" my email address

On my macbook pro (newest version of Mavericks) trying to open facetime.  I sign in and then facetime shows my email address asking if that is the one I'd like to use to send calls.  I click the check mark so that the email address I want is selected and then click next.  A little pinwheel appears at the top of the window next to the word "verifying".  It's been "verifying" my email address for over a half hour now with no progress that I can detect.  I've used facetime in the past week and was not asked to verify my email, so I don't understand what the problem is.  I'd rather not have to pay to reinstall a program I already have, either.
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hey nimbus,
Thanks for the question. Were you sent a verification email? If so, you’ll want to follow the instructions in that email:
    FaceTime for Mac: Troubleshooting FaceTime
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4185
If you are unable to activate FaceTime, try the following:
Sign in to FaceTime for Mac using a valid Apple ID. After you validate the email address for use with FaceTime, other FaceTime users can connect to you using that email address. If you encounter issues registering or using an Apple ID account:
    - Ensure that you have an active Internet connection.
    - Verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
    - Check that your email address is verified in FaceTime > Preferences.
       - If FaceTime > Preferences shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.
    - Toggle FaceTime off and on in FaceTime > Preferences.
    - If still unable to Sign In follow the instructions in FaceTime, Game Center, Messages on OS X: Troubleshooting Sign in
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • FaceTime will not verify email on iPad

I am trying to setup factetime for a family member. I get to the verify window it goes throughou the verify but shoots back to the sign in page. How can I fix this problem so I can finish setting up facer time on the iPad.

What do you mean the sign in page? When the Email address is verified, you have to go to the inbox of that email account and follow the instructions in the email that you get from Apple in order to complete the verification process.
If you see a message that stays something to the effect of "Resend verifying email" - go to that email account inbox. Check the spam folder was well. The verification email from Apple could end up in there.

I created the id year sago and have used it for purchases, appointemnts and icloud but now the ipad 2 will not take it in these two apps... is this a problem with the ipad 2, my apple id, or is it to do with icloud (the account used to be a mobileme account)

i have entered my apple ID and password and i sign in and i press next then it just says verifying and then it goes back to the sign it page what do i do ?

I spent days, weeks trying to sort out this problem and it turned out, for me, to be so simple.  You would have thought that the apple help line might have helped, but no.  I went into settings, then go to date/time, then slide the on/off button on Set Automatically to on.  It worked for me.  Good luck.

  • When I try to use FaceTime on my Macbook Air, I try to verify the email I want people to call me with, and it says verified, but soon an message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."

So our school lets us use Macbook Airs for the school year, and it has facetime on it. I know facetime isn't blocked because like everyone else is using it. So I decide to give it a try. I click the icon, it says enter your apple ID. I dont have one, so I click to make one, and do so. I then enter my apple ID and click next. The screen reads "People will call you using your email address. What email address would you like to use?" I enter my email address in the box below the message, and then go to my email and click the link, and sign in, thus verifying the email. I go back to the facetime window, and click next. At the top it says Verified, but when I click next it doesn't go on to the next step, it simply blacks out the next button so that I can not click it, and after a few minutes a message comes up that says "Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again."
So that is the issue, please help!!!!!
*Note-I repeat that I know it is not blocked by the school because everyone else uses it just fine.*

    Hello BassoonPlayer,
Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using.  FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in.  This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly.  By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you.  Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.
