Facing Time out after 270 sec through webservice.

Hello all,
I am invoking PDF generator for Postscript through webservice along with a cofiguration xml which has timeout set to 10000. But the service doesnot recognise this value & always gets timed out at 270 sec which is its default value.
I tried converting a PS file to PDF using the GUI by setting the timeout parameter to a higher value than 270 but it still got time out at the default value.
Please help me solve this prob...

Which version of Java?
Which web app server/db and version?
Does it work for small (<10Meg files)?
I've never needed a timeout over 4 minutes even for 500Meg+ PS files, although I'm interacting through the EJB interface, not the webservice.
I believe there may be some way to increase the timeout further, although I think it involves editing configuration files within the ear/war/jar structure of the deployed libraries; the 270 second value does appear in native2pdfconfig.xml in the pdfg-all.ear on the professional version of PDFG, although I don't have time to test whether this value actually has an effect on the maximum timeout. It may appear elsewhere too. And I'm not sure if it will be in the same location in the postscript only version.

Thanks very much for the advice. I trawled through the other answers on the site and it appears others had the same issue. I doubled the available space and the install went like clockwork... which is what one would norma;ly expect from Apple :-)
Maybe Apple should have a ' definitely read me first' notice before a download takes place with CLEAR instructions to have more than the 6GB they indicate ofr the Mountain Lion download

Ask and ye shall receive. This should be doable in Windows 7 and Windows 8 on another PC. I recommend using a USB Flash drive like in this tutorial, but I'm sure you could use something else.
If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

Also very useful for sorting out virus's as long as it's downloaded and made on another PC that is virus free......

Canon support told me that the I-pad printer driver would not work with any printer, including HP. They offered to fix the problem for $50. I turned them down.
If they really could fix the problem, they must be saying to update the printers firmware. Look on the cannon website & update the priners firmware. While you at it, update the routers firmware.
What printer do you have?

Aironet 1100 series web interface times out after few mins of inactivity

Hello,
I just upgraded an Aironet 1121G access point to IOS software version 12.3(8)JEC2 (file name: c1100-k9w7-tar.123-8.JEC2). I noticed that the HTTP web interface now times out after an inactivity of just a few minutes (dont have an exact number, but it times out between 2-4 mins of inactivity). Can this timeout period be changed..!? How? This wasnt happenning on the previous software version: 12.3(8)JEB1.
Also, where can I find the online help files for the latest Cisco IOS software? I cant seem to find it on the Cisco website!

Before beginning the download, try temporarily disabling the antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is required and is running with that secure OS.

Connection time out error when calling a webservice on ICF

We have a webservice exposed on ECC 5.0 on the ICF. However, when we invoke the webservice - after 10 seconds , we get a error message
Error reading server response: The operation has timed-out
I checked ICMAN parameters
icm/conn_timeout - and set its new value to 50000 ms ( 50 secs ) - the connection still timed out when the webservice tooks more than 10 seconds to process.
icm/keep_alive_timeout - I don't see an option to change the new value for this parameter
What am i missing here - how can I set the connection not to time out uptil say 45 seconds - what parameter do I change here ?

I partly agree with Kaustubh,
if you test the service from within SICF the parameter SAPLOCALHOSTFULL (FQHN = Fully-Qualified Host Name) is taken to build the test URL. If this host name is not correct resp. cannot be resolved by the server, you will run into an error.
icm/host_name_full is only taken if SAPLOCALHOSTFULL is not maintained.
So first of all you shold check this parameter befor increasing timeout parameters at random.
If the parameter does not solve the problem, you should have a look into the ICM trace file (dev_icm) and search for "ERROR".

BPEL process times out after 5 minutes

I have created a BPEL Asynchronous process that is invoking a view which takes time to give all the records; while the process is invoking this database adapter, my process abruptly ends with the following fault after 5 minutes
Exception occured when binding was invoked. Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'CAMPAIGN_BATCH_COUPONS_VSelect' failed due to: DBReadInteractionSpec Execute Failed Exception. Caused by java.sql.SQLTimeoutException: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation . See root exception for the specific exception. This exception is considered retriable, likely due to a communication failure. Because the global transaction is rolling back the invoke must be retried in a new transaction, restarting from the place of the last transaction commit. To classify it as non-retriable instead add property nonRetriableErrorCodes with value "1013" to your deployment descriptor (i.e. weblogic-ra.xml). ". The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution.
It looks like my process is timed out. Is there anything that I can do for it to not time out like this?

Before the transaction was rollback issue it got failed while invoking the DBAdapter and it is showing the below issue:
Can you please look into this and let me know if any thing required and we pass the payload by standalonely through EM Console it is working fine.But normal order processing it is showing the below error.

Internet time-outs after installing 10.6.X from 10.5.X

Hi,
I had no problems with my internet on system 10.5.8, everything was working fine, but after installing 10.6.1 I have some problems with my internet connection, only on my MBP17. On other computers on my network, internet is working fine.
The problem is, I have some time-outs when I use firefox or safari randomly.
Then after a sec or 10sec, internet is working fine until the next time-out.
What can I do? there are no updates.

My laptop is running 10.5.8 and has no problems with drop outs. When I looked at the network preferences (Ethernet>Advanced) The DNS Servers is empty, Search Domains is empty.
Looking at the network preferences on my iMac The DNS Servers are 10.1.1.1 and the Search Domain contains (grayed out) "domain.invalid"
10.1.1.1 is my Siemens SpeedStream 4200 modem management site (the modem has not had a firmware update in 3-4 years).
These will be my next steps, to delete the entries in the network preferences and update the firmware for the modem. Actually I think I'll go out and buy a new modem.
P.S. I am currently trying a new cable that has given me a one hour connection, when I have been getting drop outs every 19mins and 49secs.

I can't find out if there is a credit card already attached to my apple ID and password. Every time I go into iTunes, as apple instructs me to do, I can't get into "Review", as it "times out" right after choosing the "united States" for the country of origin. Every time. All seven times now. I received this phone as a gift from my wife and she can't remember if there was a credit card put on file, but thinks there was, since she's pretty sure they wouldn't let her set up the apple account for the new phone without it. My ipod video sound cuts out after 30 sec

I play my movie and the sound cuts out after a while and then it only plays the video with no sound. It's not the video because it works fine on my computer and all the other videos are doing the same thing. I found if I rewind or fast foreward the sound comes back but only for a little while and the sound cuts out again.

This happens with the current firmware 1.1 upgrade on the iPod. You can downgrade the firmware to 1.0 and this will solve that problem. Doing it this way you won't have to restore the iPod which will erase it. If you can't do this then you can restore the iPod using the previous updater.

1) Open up the Video file in Quicktime Pro
2) Select File->Export
3) Select "Movie to MPEG-4" beside "Export:", then click the OPtions button
4) Select "Video" & make sure the "Video Format" is set to "Pass through"
5) Do the same for "Audio", then hit OK
6) Save the file

Secure site (OWA) times out after 10 min.

I'm finding that Safari times out the session to OWA (Outlook Web Access) after about 10 minutes. The server side time out is set to 22 min.
Is this something that can be fixed? I see no 'idle time disconnect' prefs in Safari.

I found two things that were causing my troubles.
First, port 25 on the switch going to the server was blocked. After this was opened I was able to receive mail to macosxserver02.binghamton.edu. Since this mail server is only used for Podcast Producer notifications, I'm hoping to have this port closed back down after I get Pcast Producer back up and running and fully tested.
Second, when the upgrade from 10.5 -> 10.6 was performed, in ServerAdmin>Mail>Settings>Domain Name, only the .binghamton.edu was populated in this field, not the full domain name of macosxserver02.binghamton.edu. This was preventing me sending mail to our Google branded .binghamton.edu email addresses. Apparently 10.6 was looking locally for all the .binghamton.edu email addresses.
A big thank you to Gordon for looking into this and helping me get this resolved.

My regular FTP site suddenly times out - after onl...

Not sure if this is the right forum but due to some problems I found myself unable to pay the monthly bill by the due date. After some time going round in circles with the famous auomated menus I managed to find a real person and explained the problem. I asked if I ould have until 19th February to pay. They said the latest they could allow was 14 February UNLESS I was able to to pay £20 - £30 towards total of £51 before that.
I managed to borrow £20 which I paid online and I was still connected on the 14th and today too BUT my website FTP which I access daily has suddenly stopped connecting giving me a time out message. No one else using it has experienced any problem.
So I was wondering whether it was possible that BT have decided to block my access to this IP of this FTP site until the balance of the bill is paid. I have no evidence of this except the co-incidence that the last day they would originally give me to settle the bill coincides with the sudden inability to connect to my FTP site. (I can connect to other FTP sites that I use occasionally with different IP's with no problem.)
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Shadowmike,
I don't think this issue has anything to do with BT billing restrictions. When your broadband is restricted due to payment issues you can not access any sites and you get redirected to a BT.com payment page.

IPad Browser seems to Disconnect/time out after Auto Lock

After iPad auto locks, it seems like the browser (Safari and Chrome have both been tested) disconnects or times out. When I unlock the iPad, the pages need to reload or re-establish a connection - and because of the apparent disconnect I am forced to log back into the web page I was on. How can I prevent this disconnect so I can utilize ipads easily in my office? It's so much easier than lugging around a laptop from client to client.
Background: I utilize a few iPads for my business. My EMR software is web based, which means I can use anything with a browser (ipad, laptop, desktop, etc) to log in and use the program. The program itself has an auto log off at 60 minutes, but on my iPads we don't make it that long. We will log into the web site, begin our day but need to set down the iPad when working with clients which can take 20 minutes or more. Our iPads auto lock for security reasons. When we unlock the iPads to continue working, the browser has to, essentially, re-establish a connection to the site - so it is not maintaining an active connection in that browser. The only thing I have found that helps is disabling the auto lock but that is unacceptable as a long term solution.
It's not the program or the programs site - my laptops work fine as long as I disable hibernation. If it were my network, both laptops and ipads would have the same issue when the wifi signal was lost. What's more, it will happen on other pages - like my bank site or even shopping.
So how can I keep the browser's connection active even when auto locked?
