False Duplicate ip address error reported on our windows 2008 and windows 2012 servers

we use windows 2008 and windows 2012 servers our company. my access switches are cisco catalyst 3560.
A sample of a show version command from one of our access switches is as shown below.

Can you post your switch config?
How many switches do you have? Presumably you have more than one, this one is connected to others, and those others have servers and clients?
Try doing a 'show arp' on the switch and comparing the IPs and MACs to your windows server. Do it a few times as it may change as each device using the IP sends packets.

Installing Oracle Fusion Middleware (Forms/Reports) 11g on windows 2012 x64

Hi All,
I'm planning to install oracle fusion middleware 11g (forms/reports) on windows 2012 64 bit.
Once i started the installation of weblog server 10.3.6 it went fine without any error at this stage.
In second stage i tried to configure it, but in the configuration process "*Creating Domain*" is getting failed.
Placed some sample message below from the log file.

Hi,
1)As per certification matrix Forms and Reports 11.1.1.7.0 is supported on Windows 2012.
   So in order to install Forms and Reports you need to first install the Forms and Reports software binaries then need to run the config.sh command from %ORACLE_HOME%/bin.
   No need to create any domain using the config.sh from Weblogic home.
2)Please see if the below prerequisites were met :-
   . Assign Proper ip, hostname & domain name
. Entry of ip, host name & domain name in etc/hosts file
. Disable anti-virus if any
. Disable ipv6, a
. Disable Windows Firewall, Windows Update & Windows Management Instrumentation at Service level (services.msc)
. Create 2 folder "tmp" & "Java" for temp, jdk & jre installation. And set the path of installed jdk in Environment Variable

Error upgrading Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 to 2012: 0x80070490

Hi everyone!
As it is release day for Hyper-V Server 2012, I decided to go ahead and upgrade from Hyper-V Server 2008 R2. However, I keep getting this error:
"Windows Setup cannot find a location to store temporary installation files. To install Windows, make sure that a partition on your boot disk has at least 1198 megabytes (MB) of free space.
Error code 0x80070490"
I have over 20 gigs free on the boot volume, and tons more on my VHD volume, so I don't know why it's doing this. I have shut down all VMs, there are no snapshots, nothing cluttering up my C: drive, and yes I've rebooted it several times. I have
also tried copying the installation DVD to a local volume and installing that way, but I keep getting the same error. I know the quick solution would be to just format, reinstall clean, and pray that my VMs import into 2012 (which are already safely
on another volume), but there has to be a reason this is happening.

ACS 4.2 "Internal error" when migrate to Windows 2012 DC

Dear All:
We want to migrate DC 2003 to DC 2012, it 's mixed mode now. At first, We were shutdown the DC 2003 and ACS 4.2 sometimes got error "Internal error" when user couldn't access network in VPN or Wireless but not all of users. Finally, We open the DC 2003 ASAP, user can login at once. the error doesn't appear again. it is so weired. We had validated it can work with ACS 4.2 separately in windows 2012 or 2003 DC not mixed in Lab before migration. it seems to depend on DC 2003, we don't know how to do next step. Have anyone share about solve the situation? Thanks a lot.

Still Error 2927 when refreshing Windows 2012 R1 Host

I have SCVMM R2 and the latest rollups. This issue is only occureing on a Windows 2012 (R1) server. I do not see these issues on Windows 2008 R2 or Windows 2012 R2.
I have looked at other forum posts with no luck such as: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/ccff7b77-6fc5-4c4b-bf71-a08a5076a3fd/action?threadDisplayName=error-2927-when-refreshing-host-cluster
I also have cranked up the MaxConcurrentOperationsPerUser to no avail.
After I restart WinRM and SCVMM Agent, it is ok for a little while then the errors and "This service has exceeded its maximum of 100 concurrent operations per user allowed for plugin "WMI Provider" error begin again.
Any other ideas?

winrm set winrm/config/Service @{MaxConcurrentOperationsPerUser="400"}
Could you please run command below with administrator privilege to list the current settings of winrm :
winrm get winrm/config
(By the way , did you restart the server recently ? )

WLS 7 MDB JMSConnection Alive false - where is the error reported?

I have a few MDBs subscribed to various destinations. One of them is
subscribed to a queue called jms.queue.queue1 in JNDI. queue1 is a
regular Queue (not distributed), lives in JMSServer1, which is
deployed to WLS server1. An entry for it appears in JNDI on each
server in the cluster (server1 + server2). The MDB lives in an
ejb-jar which is deployed to the cluster containing server1 & server2.
In the console, under deployments -> ejb -> myejb.jar -> monitoring ->
Monitor all Message Driven EJBRuntimes, all the other MDBs have
"JMSConnection Alive" appearing as "true", but the one subscribed to
queue1 has "false". I cannot see any exceptions in the server logs.
Is there any way to get at the reason for the "false"?
I can use a command-line QueueSender and Receiver on queue1 without a
problem, using the t3:// url of either of the WLS Servers.
What's most important to me is where the error is reported - I've had
this problem a couple of times and it seemed to go away on its own.
I'm not getting any diagnositics right now.

IF not the answer is:
Use enable the TX flags in the JMSConnectionFactory. Goto console. Select
the JMSConnectionFactory (what MDB is using). Click on the trnsactions tab.
Check the boxes there.

How do I resolve a "duplicate IP address" error following migration?

I just finished a Time-Machine-to-iMac Migration (via Time Capsule) but it says: "A static IP address on AirPort has been transferred to this computer. Make sure not to connect your old computer to the same network as this computer." It was my intention to network both computers for a while until I'm done with the Mac Mini (the original computer).
How do I fix this? For example, is there a way to change the IP address of one or the other?
I know just enough about computers to be dangerous, so any replies need to be pretty explicit in what I need to do.

there are times when wife comes back with her sleeping macbook and when I fire up my imac I get the error because the dhcp give my the same ip as it had given her before she left then one of us just turn of wifi and back again then dhcp sorts it out

HT3669 I have an Epsom 1250 photo scanner that will not work with my new iMac. I get an error report indicating 'scanner ot available' and the indicator light on the scanner goes to red.

When I try to use the scanner I get error message 'scanner not available' and the scanner indicator goes red . I have contacted Epsom who advised me to run System update on my Mac several times which I havedone to no avail. The scanner is in working order as it works satifactorily with my 'Windows' laptop. The scanner is listed as being included in the driver updates but It would appear that the driver on my iMac supplied in any update is not suitable.
I am currently running OSX 10.8.4
What steps should I now persue to be able to use the scanner?

I would suggest the troubleshooting steps from this article named Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3147
Don't let the name throw you off, the troubleshooting is relevant for scanners as well.
Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.

Error reported from DirectoryService hangs syslog and computer

I am getting an odd behaviour from my Mac. I recently had an issue with Eclipse and had to hard switch the computer, since it hang all the machine.
When booting again, whenever I start Eclipse, I get the same behaviour. CPU gets high, to 80-90%, processes DirectoryService and mDNSResponder are the most active, and messages starts to run to the syslog. The message is:

DirectoryService: This process acts as a central clearinghouse for "Directory" information -- mainly users/groups/authentication, and service location (e.g. file servers, printers, etc). It gathers information from a variety of plugins (NetInfo, LDAP, Active Directory, NIS, Bonjour/Rendesvous/, AppleTalk, SMB) and hands it out to whatever program requested it.
I am running Spotlight normally and I did'nt have this problem before. The problem should be something related to DNS, or the like, since mDNSresolver is also generating a lot of activity.
I have 80 Gb free space in the disk.
I have run Disk Utility/First Aid to check for errors and do repairs: no problem, no repairs.
Let DirectoryService etc. run for a while when all is well to re-index for Spotlight: done
Exclude any resources in System Prefs/Spotlight so that time isn't spent combing thru them: done.
Nevertheless, I didn't use Eclipse for a while (these two months) and I almost forgot about the problem. Today, I have just open it again and again, the same problem.

How to store reports on cr server 2008 and view them from web application

Hi, I want to store my rpt files on the crystal reports server, under "Folders", and then from my web application use "CrystalReportViewer" control to show these reports.
Now I setup a crystal reports server 2008 on my server, and install crystal reports 2008 on my client develp machine. I have searched some sample codes from Internet, but many Business Objects dlls they used I could not find from my computer, for example, I can not find infostore dll and Business Objects.sdk. It seems I have to install some sdk to use these objects.
Could you tell if which sdk I have to setup to achieve my goal, or if can give me a sample would be highly appriecatied.

A. At the moment, the only way you can view reports stored on CR Server 2008 are with the Java SDK or OpenDocument.
OpenDocument may be a nice option for you, as there would not be much programming involved. Please see this documentation for information how to use this. Please note that in CR Server 2008, you will be using Java OpenDocument.

SAP Crystal Report 2013 on Windows 2012 and Lotus Notes Databases

Hi everybody, does someone already try to use version 2013 of Crystal Report to report Lotus Notes databases content?
We have been used older version for about 10 years without any difficulties as a native driver exist for Lotus Notes.
But installing the version 2013, we have discovered that lotus Notes is not anymore present int the list of database to connect to...
Can anyone provide sonme help?

See the SAP Crystal Reports 2013 Product Availability Matrix (PAM), page 9 and download the doc linked to there. According to that doc, Lotus Notes is now only supported via ODBC only.
Also, the search string 'lotus crystal 2013' (search box in top right corner) brings up the following KBA:

We have several thousand Windows 2003 servers. Experience tells me many will no longer be used. What tool will help us to identify if a server is actually used?
SQL,IIS and core infrastructure such as AD,DNS,WINS,File Servers are probably easy but still leaves us with loads of servers not running any of these types of services.
The usual answer seems to be "switch the server off for a couple of weeks" but hat's not really an acceptable solution ...

There is a few things you can do, yes one is AD where you can use LDFDE,ADUC and Powershell to export objects for reference.
There is other options as well:
Check what roles the server has installed and view the usage of those services.
View the open ports which will give an idea of the roles it has.
You can use a network analyzer like WireShark or AIrmon-ng to view what types of traffic are coming from the servers, easier if you have servers on their own subnets like SANs etc.
Use Syslogging software like Splunk, requires installing agents on the servers.
View the SRV records on the DNS servers.
The first two are ideal, although it would be useful to map-out your network for future reference.
Also don’t just switch off the server to see if it’s in-use or not, that’s rogue and bad advice.

Hyper-V cluster validation report "Found duplicate physical address" on nic team interfaces.

I recently built a Windows 2012 Hyper-V cluster with 5 nodes. The validation report shows “duplicate physical address” error (error text pasted below).
The hardware: HP BladeSystem – servers are BL460c blades, in a c7000 enclosure, connected to HP Virtual Connect switches.
Each server has 2 physcal nics, teamed in Windows. In the NIC Teaming console, I created the following Team Interfaces and assigned each a VLAN ID:
“Team1” (the default team)
“Team1 - VLAN 204 – Management”
“Team1 - VLAN 212 - 2012HB”
“Team1 - VLAN 211 -Exchange DAG Replication”
I also created 2 HV Virtual Switches. Neither one allows management interface to share. They are assigned to “Team1” and “Team1 - VLAN 211 -Exchange DAG Replication” respectively.
Therefore, in Network Connection, I see the 2 physical Ethernet nics, and 4 “virtual” nics. Only 2 of them have IP addresses assigned: Management and HB. These are the two that the validation wizard complains
about.
The MAC address is not configurable in the NIC Teaming console, so I don’t see a way to resolve this error, except to use separate physical nics. I don’t want to do that because a) I would lose the benefits of
the bandwidth aggregation that Virtual Connect provides, and b) When creating an Interface on a Team in Windows, it looks like it ALWAYS gives it the same MAC address, so that should be a supported configuration.
Everything works just fine, and there are no other errors or IP conflicts or anything else. But I really want to fix it because I don’t know what unknown problems this may be causing.

Hi Dan,
"It turns out that both hosts had the same default MAC address ranges for their virtual switches. Since the host vNICs were attached to the virtual switch on each host they received the first couple of MAC addresses from the switches.
