Fatal error libsec.so.1 after patch installation

Dear Gentlemen,
I tried to install patch 118855-36 for my Solaris 10 x86. The installation failed with errors like this:

And now cp, chmod, scp and I think some other commands are not running correct:

If you can afford to backout the patch and then see if others are having the same issue. If possible wait for the next versoin of the patch and if possible alert Sun so it can be fixed.

During installation, an user casuser is created with certian security settings and if those are modified\removed, DM will not start.
Following message will be seen in /log/syslog.log
Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000775
To solve the issue, run resetcasuser.exe located under /setup.support to recreate the settings.
Make sure casuser account is not locked out. Make sure casuser is a member of casusers group and is set to "password never expires".
Additionally you can try to make casuser a member of adiministrators group.

Check the properties of casuser under Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Local Users and Groups > Users and make sure it is not disabled or locked out. The only thing checked should be "Password never expires". Change anything required and reset casuser.

System crash after patch installation

After the installation of some actual patches the system crashes. I've a SUN Solaris 5.8 installed on a ultra sparc machine. I heard about a patch that leads to a system crash if there are not sysc. mirrors. Does anyone know this patch?

Error of Photoshop CS4 after the installation of the font.

b OS : Vista 32bit sp1
b Photoshop Version : CS4
In CS3 version, the program worked well after the addition of the font in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder.
But in CS4, no fonts folder exists in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/ folder.
So I created fonts folder and added the fonts, and then I run photoshop.
After all,
The program did not work with error I want to know how to recognize the fonts without the procedure(the installation of fonts) as CS3 version.

But after the deletion of files, the problem did not solve.
I deleted Adobefnt11.lst file in three folders as your advice.

But after the deletion of files, the problem did not solve.
I searched Photoshop CS4 manual of Adobe.com and found that it was written that it could access if the fonts were added in Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Font folder. However it doesn't work in mine.
Why it(errors and end of photoshop by force) happens? I don't know.
My OS system is vista. Can't be the installation of fonts(Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Font) used in vista?

Error while winXP startup after Oracle9iDS installation

Hi all,
I have installed Forms6i on my WIN-XP machine.
Then I installed Oracle9iDS on the same machine.
I used for this installation a new oracle_home.
When I restarted my machine I got during windwos startup an errormessage:
"agntsrvc.exe - Application error
The exception privileged instruction (hexastuff) occured in the application at (hexastuff)
Click on OK .... "
After I click OK anything seems to work normally.
If I change the ORACLE_HOME environment variable in the control panel -> system ... to the root installation directory of the new Oracle9iDS installation the errormessage does not occurr.
Does anybody have an idea about the reason of the error message. Why does it occurr when I use ORACLE_HOME with the installation directory of Forms6i?

The Oracle Agent service starts automatically by default when the pc is booted. If your path or oracle_home points to the wrong home directory, it may find older files in the dev6i/bin directory first.
You can set the service to Manual. I never start it at all. I don't even know what it does, actually.

Error msg in workflow after patching to 11.1.2.1.600

Hi!
We have recently patched to 11.1.2.1.600 for our Planning solution and we get an error msg in workflow.
If the 'Planning Unit Hierarchy' is setup as 'Free form' we get an error message if the users open 'Manage Approvals', select 'Details' for a Planning Unit and then 'Change status'. The error message is 'There is no valid action that can be performed on the selected Planning Units'. If the 'Planning Unit Hierarchy' is set up as 'Bottom up' it works fine.
Have anyone else experienced this behavior in the 11.1.2.1.600-patch? Is there a workaround?
An SR is also raised towards Oracle, so hopefully we get an answer from them soon.

We're having this issue after installing the 11.1.2.1.600 patch over .102 as well (this didn't come up as known issue), and the workaround of "use Bottom Up" doesn't work for us, because we want multiple planners in an organizational division to be able to write to the same PU at the same time. You can't do that with Bottom Up, because only one person can have control at a time.
So... the .601 patch still doesn't exist, and uninstalling the .600 patch didn't fix the issue. Support basically says, "it's a bug, use the workaround".
So frustrating!

Errors starting web server after patch 6

I just applied 2005Q4 Patch 6 to the Access Manager, redeployed the web apps using amsilent and when I restart the Sun One Web Server 6.1SP8 there's a stack trace. How can I troubleshoot some of these errors and figure out what's wrong? It appears a problem with AuthD.java:720 (see below).

Usually, when you choose for example Oracle Service Bus Extension - Single Server Domain Topology - 11.1.1.3 [Oracle_OSB1], the dependencies are automatically chosen as well.
If this not happening, just add the products it is suggesting in the error, such as Oracle Service Bus OWSM Extension - 11.1.1.3 [Oracle_OSB1] .

Error connecting to CMS after fresh installation

I finish installing XI 3.0 on our Window 2003 server, Tomcat is installed. When I try to login to CMS I got the following error message:"Error: Server servername:6400 not found or server may be down (FWM 01003) null". I have tried the Administrator and blank password and my CMS DB owner password.
When I install XI 3.0 I have left the password blank. This is the second time I install XI 3.0 on this server. I have uninstalled my 1st XI 3.0 and than reinstall it for the second time. Not sure if this is related for my first install I have set a Administrator password. I am not sure if it is cached something in the system. However I did try to login to CMS with my 1st install password but still unable to login.
I have checked CCM that Tomcat and SIA is both running and I able to bring up the CMS webpage. I did research on the forum that there is a table mod I can do to reset the Administrator password. Can someone post these instructions?
One More thing is when I install Tomcat I changed the port number:
8080 -> 7080
8005 -> 7005
8443 -> 7443

Hi,
If this is a new installation - without any data - open your CCM and stop SIA. Double Click SIA, select configuration and tick under CMS System Database Configuration on "Specify". Select "Recreate the current datasource". This option will re-initialize the current data source and all data present will be lost. The Administrator password will be reset to deafult.

Error while setting iPhone after os6 installation

While installing my iPhone 4S, after installing OS6, at one of the first screens of the primary settings, I have made a couple of errors:
- not introduced password for iTunes
- allowed to many mail adresses and phone numbers for contacting me, now I receive all messages of my daughter,on the same iTunes identification as me
How can I go back to those settings?
Tried Restore, but it simply takes the same settings?!

Problems with More after patch installation

Hi I recently installed Solaris 10 and thought i'd be clever by using the auto update to install all the latest patches. Now if i try and use the more command i just get "more: r-xr-xr-x: not found" as if it's searching for it.
I haven't set up any users yet so i'm logging in as root. I have checked the dtprofile and /usr/bin is in the path. It's just getting a little frustrating because commands like man that use more don't work now either.

The Photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Every PATCH installation fails after installing Windows Updates

I want to report an issue which I think is a Windows bug introduced by one of the Windows updates (unfortunately I wasn't able to find out which one of them).
Here is the test case:
1. install a fresh copy of Windows on a test machine
2. install all available Windows Updates (so the system is up to date)
3. create a sample MSI installer which only installs some dummy files (let's say Product Version 1.0.0) and host it on a web server
4. install the MSI from the online location using a command line like this:
msiexec /i http://server/share/package.msi
5. create a .MSP patch (e.g. v1.0.1) which only adds a new file to v1.0.0
6. install the v1.0.1 patch
RESULT: the patch installation fails with the following error message: "The filename , directory name , or volume label syntax is incorrect"
NOTES:
1. the issue was replicated on Windows 7 and 8 machines UP TO DATE
2. the issue is not replicated on a fresh installation of Windows without Updates applied
Is there anyone aware of what could cause this error? Once again the patch installation fails only on Windows machines with the latest Updates installed.

Fatal error installing C6280

Receive fatal error during install of latest Photosmart C6280 driver. Error occurs during the last step of installation... Configuring Product... receive same error trying to install latest software for Officejet 6500N.
Running Windows 7, service pack 1.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled countless times with same error.
Installing under administrator. Have uninstalled and disabled security softwares (McAfee and Windows Defender) and have tried installing in safe mode. Have disabled all services except Microsoft with msconfig, and recieve same error.
Error message has no number asociated with it... just says fatal error, which comes up after a minute or so of last step of install which is Configuring Product.
HP Solution software says it can't run because installation was incomplete.
Same results trying to install my Officejet 6500N... same error at same install point... same error message.
Both printers are excellent devices, and I'd like to continue using them.

I would also like to update this request by adding I am having same issue trying to reinstall my officejet 6500n.
Sounds like same problem. No 4 digit error code. Windows 7. Used event viewer to find the code 1359. This one is not on your list. Followed another error code instructions. Like Oriignal poster, I diabled services and start up, re-registered 'Atl.dll' and unregistered and re-registered 'msiexec'. I have used the original disk as well as the newest downloadable drivers.
I have also attepmted the workaround offered by dowloading and installing basic print and scan drivers. I get the same error message as I did in the full installation attmept.
