FCP is adding clips into existing clips on the sequence?!

This is a bizarre thing that has just been occurring since the latest update. While looking over unrendered scenes I noticed little chunks of blue (rendered) bar. Keep in mind that this is a one clip scene and there is absolutely no other video clip on the timeline. I scrub through and there is a random (or not so random, but I'll get to that) part or another clip from a completely other scene added into the clip. If you remove the clip, it is no longer there, so it has definitely embedded itself onto the clip. If you go back to the source video and look through it it is clean. So you drag the in/out selected point back onto the timeline and the phantom clip is there again.
I had found a solution though, by removing the clip and therefore emptying the timeline I would save the project and quit FCP. Upon reopening FCP and reinserting the clip it would be 'clean'. But on revisiting the project this morning I have found the phantom clip has found its way back into the sequence. One difference I have noticed is that is has been placed a few seconds earlier than it was before.
On a bizarre note, the phantom clips spookily have a fitting context to the clips it haunts.
has anyone else experienced this? And do you have a reasoning why it occurs and a permanent solution to fixing/preventing it?

The project file may be corrupted. Try opening a new project and importing the files there to see if the problem persists.

Project renames sequence and all clips in the sequence when a clip is added

My project is renaming my sequences and the clips in those sequences whenever I add a clip. For example, I have a sequence called "dance section 2", which contains 20 some-odd clips with various names. When I add a clip named "drop from above", the name of the sequence is changed to "drop from above", and the name of every other clip in the sequence is also changed to "drop from above" (video, audio, stills, everything). When I add a clip named "spins", all the names are changed to "spins".
The name of the sequence is changed in both the timeline and the browser, but the names of the other clips are changed only in the timeline. In the browser, they keep their old names. The exception to this is the last clip added before the name changer. For example, if I add "drop from above" to the sequence, and then add "spins", the clip named "drop from above" is renamed "spins" in the browser as well as in the timeline, but the other clips are renamed only in the timeline.
The clips in the sequence also keep their original content - so the sequence looks the same as it did before, but all the names of the clips are changed.
This is only happening in one project. All of my other projects are working fine.
I've tried restarting and deleting preferences. I've also looked at the autosave vault for the project. The backup projects saved after a certain time all behave the same way, and the projects before that time all behave normally. I can't imagine what would have caused this, though, since I've been working on this project all day and nothing's happened to my computer or hard drive or anything.
Also, there are no freeze frames at the beginnings of my sequences (I read another thread with a somewhat similar issue and getting rid of freeze frames seemed to help that person).
I'm in FCP 7.0 on a Macbook Pro.

I've had this happen. My guess is that it's related to round-tripping to/from Color, but I can't be sure. IMHO, the sequence is corrupted. I just dealt with it for a while, then rebuilt it by making changes from an earlier version.
Sorry I don't have a better solution, but at least you know you're not alone.

You need to give a lot more information about the media specifications and the project properties you're using in the different projects.

Crashes when adding a clip to the sequence!

When i try to drag a clip into the sequence, a prompt comes up saying Adobe Premiere Pro has stopped working!
Help! i have a project due in a few weeks and i cant rely on windows movie maker!

Adding NWDI into existing J2EE web instance

Hi Expect,
I have an running J2EE web server while i want to add NWDI compoents into it. I know how to done it start from scatch (i.e select the NWDI option using installation master).
However, i don't know how to add NWDI into an existing J2EE instance since the installation master do not have any "update option"

It is possible to add NWDI to esisting j2ee instance.
Follow these steps,
1.If it is 04,
deploy SAPDEVINF.sca from offline component folder in your 04 build.It will be under sikwxx.relesed\j2ee-cd\jdi.
deploy SAPDEVINF.sca and SA{BUILDT from online component folder in the same path as said above.
2.after deploying go to visual admin.
c:\usr\sap\SID\JCxx\j2ee\admin--->go.bat
Go to SID----->services----->Component Build Services.
Then enter Java home path in the column which appears to the right
and set Idlestart to false.
3.Then go to c:\usr\sap\SID\sys\global\CMS_CBS\plugins.Then copy all the sca's under that to c:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.
If it is 04s
1.Deploy DI-DTR,DI-CBS,DI-CMS on to the engine from production path under BS folder release.
2.2.after deploying go to visual admin.
c:\usr\sap\SID\JCxx\j2ee\admin--->go.bat
Go to SID----->services----->Component Build Services.

Running FCP6.06 on lion and losing one audio trac when I drag a clip to the sequence

I was able to get FCP6.06 working on my new macBook pro with lion. Edited for over a week. Now it is acting up. When I drag a clip into the timeline only track 2 audio shows up. any ideas?

Make sure the track selectors are connected properly in the patch section on the left part of the Timeline.

Highlighted clips in the sequence

Hi, my name is Rafael and I am having some problems with Adobe premiere CC:
Add Edit don´t cut all the layers highlighted. When I insert or overwrite a clip into the timeline, the timeline don´t respect the highlighted layers (ex. if layer 1, 2 and 3 were highlighted and the clip were put in layer 1, clips on second and third layer should be deleted between in and out markers, but they aren´t.
The Ctrl+D and Ctrl+Shift+D commands (add transition) doesn´t work like the other versions too (respecting where the cursor is)
the buttons to go to the next cut on timeline (in my keyboard, A and S) doesn´t work right too.
I would like to know if these are bugs or the new Premiere CC is different from the others before. Thanks

I'm finding that the CTRL+K shortcut works as I'd expect it to.
The Overwrite command will only overwrite on one track for video and one for audio. It won't delete anything on other tracks, nor should it.
The transition shortcuts work differently depending on whether or not clips are selected.
The Next/Previous Edit commands are dependant on track targeting.

All of a sudden I have no audio tracks when I place a clip in the sequence. What did I do?

In Adobe Prem Pro, I'm finishing a short film. All, of a sudden I am bringing over one last clip, and I can't get an audio track. So, if I select a clip and drag it over, only the video shows up. What did I do? How can I fix it?

My guess is that you accidentally clicked off the highlighted "A1" in the image below.
If neither A1 or V1 is in those boxes you can drag and drop. If you do that, the A1 and V1 will show up. However, if only one of them is there, then you will only be able to drop the video or the audio depending on which one is there.
Make sure that yours look like mine. If necessary, reset your workspace.

I think my old friend Harm didn't quite understand what you were asking. A rarity for him, so be kind.
No, I do not believe that there is a way to get rid of the name of the clip.
However, if you really want to see more of the frames on the timeline (which I never do anymore, by the way) all you have to do is expand the track. See the image below. You will notice that with the expanded track, the percentage of the clip taken by the title is small enough not to matter.
If you find that your screen is too small to leave the tracks expanded like that, create a special workspace that allows you to quickly move back and forth between the standard expansion, and the stretch out expansion as seen in my image. Assign a keyboard shortcut to the new workspace and you can move quickly between views.

When adding clips to the timeline i sometimes get the message 'clips may not be added recursively.... what does this mean and how can it be avoided?

It sounds like you're trying to edit a sequence back into itself. That's the only time that message occurs.

How do I move just a single clip in the project file and then convert that into an Mp4 format?

I have a project file open.
At the bottom of the screen there is a horizontal film strip of images. I have cut the images into certain segments.
I want to select one single segment (about 1 min long) and convert only that selected segment into a mp4 format?
Kindly inform me how the best way to go about doing that is.

In the sequence you will see the time code and a bar in line with it.
At the end of all your edited clips in the sequence you will find that the bar ends, this bar defines the work area.
Drag each end of the work area bar so it covers only the clip you want to export.
The select the exporter and select the preset you want and before you start the export where it says whole sequence change this to work area
Then change the default name and location to whatever you want and start the export, job done

Custom counter not labeling clips in correct sequence

Anyone know why my custom counter feature is no longer assigning numbers to my clips in the right order? I have a series of clips -- say an interview -- I select them all in sequence, and then using custom name and counter I expect to see them numbered sequentially. Instead what I get seems random. It has the right range of numbers associated with the clips but the sequence is all screwy. When I apply the original camera names to the clips, however, it puts them in the right sequence. Could have started when I upgraded to 10.0.3. SUggestions???

Yeah, the problem is still there. I did get a call into Apple last week and had a fairly lengthy and encouraging conversation. They were apparently unaware of this problem but were again able to reproduce the problem on their end. The dude was quite empathetic regarding my frustration that 2 updates later the problem still exists. So... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 10.0.6, or better yet 10.0.5b.

The sequence does not match with the original clip

What I have learned about how to effectively match the sequence with original clip is by dragging the imported clip into the new item button, or right click the clip and click on "New Sequence from Clip" button. I did it exactly, however, like you can see in the image I attached, there is a black space under the clip on the sequence and the general quality of video and audio are worse than the original. Why is this happening? Please help.

I'm a novice using premiere Pro CS6 and having problems with something so hoping someone can advise.
Basically I've imported some clips into the project folder. the first clip i imported into the timeline gave me a pop up saying this clip does not match the sequence settings. i had obviously chosen the wrong settings but premiere recognised the mistake and prompted me. Now I opted to change the sequence setting and the clip worked and fitted fully in the program panel when played on there.
however when I choose another clip and drag it into the timeline, the clip has black sides and appears to be smaller in the program panel e.e. it is not fully fitted even tho the drop down is on 'fit' . I had no pop up asking me to change the clip to match sequence setting for this either.
How else do I match this clip to the sequence if no pop up come up to change it?

thanks for your ply.
The problem is that the clip I first put on the timeline was from someone who filmed a boring long clip of a karate fight, so there were no camera angles or view points to play around with. So i basically made edits by making cuts in the clip andplaying around using scale and positioning to give the impression of other camera angles.
Anyhow I cant delete that and put in the other clip as Ive worked hard on it already. I just wondered if there was a manual way of matching the sequence settings, cause all the clips are from the same camera and settings.
In regards to scaling the frame size - i did this and it looked fine, but when I came to use the stabilizer in came up with clip needs to match the sequence settings or somethign like that. This is where I'm struggling cause I cant work out how to to match it.
