FCP4 project slow to open - due to Motion 4?

My FCP7 project takes a very long time to open up (compared to others that do not possess any Motion4 interaction such as the stuff detailed below).
My project takes about 10 minutes to finally open up completely where others (such as wedding videos or photo histories) open almost immediately.
I'm wondering if my Motion4 interaction has anything to do with this. Here are some details on what I'm working with....
I'm working on a project where I'm going from FCP7 to Motion4 quite often (select clip> send to Motion). I do that several times in a 3 minute project (I'd say I have about 4 or 5 clips - probably 10 seconds each, on average). In motion, I'm working in a 720x480 project (video footage only) and I am building custom masks to cut out an interview subject in the frame) We don't have green screen here.
From there I'm tracking all points on that mask for the duration of the clip. As you know this is pretty processor intensive - especially with a stock video card like we have.
When working in the project, some things take more time than others (which is to be expected) but things seem normal there. No crashes or freeze ups of any kind.
However, it's when I go to open up the project the following day that it takes exceedingly long to get up and running.
Is this due to the excessive Motion4 interaction within FCP7? Would it be better to create these masks as individual projects instead of using the FCP to Motion back to FCP workflow?

I find that embedded Motion projects in FCP work well with simple things like animated namestraps but you will greatly improve stability and performance if you render out more complex projects to a QuickTime movie. This is likely the source of your loading delays.

Premiere crashed, my project won't open because of an "unknown error," and my autosave apparently stopped working 6 hours ago... Any solution?

I'm working in Premiere Pro CC 2014 on an early 2014 iMac. I started to notice my session was getting kind of buggy - audio clips started missing from my timeline, effect controls on some of my video clips had set themselves to the defaults. So I was trying to fix some of these things as I was editing. I save compulsively (like after every couple of edits), so I had not noticed that my session was no longer auto-saving.
Suddenly Premiere crashed. The recovery file will not open "due to an unknown error." The original file that crashed will not open either (same message), and I notice the file size is about half of what it should be. When I tried to open an auto-saved version, I discovered that the last auto-save was last night at about 10 p.m. (I quit working last night at about 1 a.m., so it just spontaneously stopped autosaving midway through my edit session.)
I followed all the suggestions I could find in forums. I trashed preferences, and I moved all my media into other folders. But the session won't open even far enough that it starts asking for media. When I create a new project and try to import my old edit sequence, dynamic link won't even get to the point where it asks me to select what sequences I want to import. It just sits there forever trying to open the file and can't.
Any suggestions?

Additional info - As I look further into the problem, it's even worse than I thought. The autosave files that say they're from last night are actually referencing work from days ago. So evidently, my auto-save is either putting incorrect time stamps on the files, or the project files are referencing old sequences. Either way, I cannot seem to locate a project file that contains a reasonably recent version of my cut, even though the time/date stamps on the files indicate they shouldn't be that old.

Photoshop Elements 7 Stop Project Bin from Opening

Is there any way to stop the project bin from opening. It takes screen space I need on my laptop and also slows it down. I am using XP. Thanks for any help.

Hi,
See there is triangle in the middle of line above Photo-bin. Click on that and Photobin will collapse. Even when you move th cursor to uppar line cursor type changes to resize, so you can click and move it down upto the limit you want.

IMovie '09 Project Won't Open, Causes iMovie to Crash

A few days ago, an iMovie project that was fine if a little slow because it was large suddenly started to freeze when I added or tried to edit some audio, forcing me to force quit iMovie. Now today every time I open iMovie and try to open the project, the little rainbow ball pops up and everything in iMovie freezes, forcing me to force quit it again. I removed the project from iMovie and made more space on my computer and iMovie worked fine, but it started acting up again when I put the project back in. I'm worried the project may be corruputed somehow, especially because this is something I worked hard on for a long time now. I've heard there are ways to fix it, such as putting it through TextEdit or Word for Mac, but the project won't open in those programs. (And before you say it, yes I SHOULD have saved a previous version of it in Time Machine, but I didn't.) If there's a way I can fix this project without losing anything, please let me know!

Captivate (5) project won't open in Web Browser

Hello,
Since a few weeks I can't open my projects in the web browser. Accept one of the projects (only questionslides), i have been searching for differents in the setttings but i couldn't find any differtens. When I publish the project in a .swf still the project won't open.
When I will get a preview in Web Browser or publish, the project is opening in the Web Browser and it looks like the project fade in and out in not even a second. A quick view of the background is visible . But i don't get any massage of error of something. And the page turn white.To preview the project in capitvate is no problem.
I hope somebody could help me out.

I do not know if you have Text Animations in your project? If yes, probably you are having issues due to the latest Flash Player. There is a hotfix to be found in this Captivate blog post:

Aperture slow to open

iMac, Yosemite 10.10, all systems/apps (including PS, lightroom, etc.) running good, EXCEPT Aperture. Slow to open - mostly spinning beachball. I have tried DB repair, repair permissions and rebuild DB. Help. Bob

I was on the verge of insanity .....
Tried everything (rebuilding,repairing, test libraries, reinstalled Aperture etc) ... nothing helped.
Because I use a library for every new project I have to open a new one every time I want to work on my images.
Opening them took forever.
But then you give the iCloud photo suggestion!
Now my libraries open again as before, fast and slick.
You are a genius Sir ! Thank you!
Please Apple "techs" take note of this suggestion and make a patch quick!

Project won't open even in autosave

I have a project I am working on that is due early this week I am half way into it and now I can't get it to open. The problem seems to be that I did not save it on my desktop. Even in autosave it is not opening up. I had it set to autosave every 10 minutes. It just says unable to open this file. I have many hours into this project an really cannot afford to start over! Any suggestions?
The scratch disk was set as to the desktop with the two lacie hard drives as back up. The waveform cache, thumbnail, and autosave are all set to one of my lacie hard drives, and I had the master save to the same hard drive as that also.

When I double-click on the Project File, or open it from within FCE (File > Open) I immediately get the error message "Unable to open the project file." The error box just sits there until cancelled. FCE does not crash. The file consists solely of four stills, some .jpg and some .psd, all edited in Photoshop.
I have now reproduced the fault in a new test project file (PAL) with one still, with one layer only, no transparency, created in Photoshop. If it is a .psd file the fault occurs; if a .jpg it does not. Although I have used stills edited in Photoshop in other projects many times, on examining them I find that all are .jpg or .tif. So it seems that FCE cannot handle a .psd file in PAL, and that the recently discussed problem of transparency in a .psd file is only part of the problem.
Tom: If others confirm this wider problem, perhaps with your clout as resident guru you could contact Apple formally and get them to cure this apparently long-established fault. Failure to even open a project file after use of an image made in the world's premier image editing software is a very serious bug and could cost users a huge amount of grief. Also, it is the sort of (ignored) bug expected of the worst freeware.
Again, if confirmed, it would be helpful if a permanent warning could be posted on this forum.

PE Projects won't open

Can't open stored PE Projects anymore. Get message "File format not supported/One of the necessary components may not have been installed."

From your last emails; your comment that PE only points to files reminded
me that I have the files on my slow, 5400 rpm, almost full HD and PE and
Projects are on an added 7200 rpm almost empty HD. I thought that when I
was saving a project all the files were being saved on the faster drive,
but I understand that they are still on my slower drive. I moved the
files to the faster drive and the jerky playback has essentially gone
away.
My PC is a Pentium 4, about 2.5GHz with 1G memory, the most it will
support. The C drive is 70G with about 7.5G free space and the added
drive G is 190G with about 176G free space.
When I converted files with Movie Maker they went to DV-AVI type 1.
Using DVDate I converted to them to type 2, which speeded up Play
considerably.
Thanks to you I've made a lot of progress and have only a question left.
When I want to open a Project by clicking on Open Project in the opening
window, a list of PE Projects opens. When I select one, another window
opens titled "Where is the File
"Rendered-4bc1b4e4-cf83-4194-8561-d9fedb37555a.AVI"? with nothing to
select. I click on Cancel and the Project is loading and needs
rendering. After rendering it plays fine. Is there something else I
should do?

Firefox slow to open, getting nonresponsive script warning

Was having a problem w/ Firefox not working due to incompatible version. The support forum suggested I uninstall & reinstall the latest version. This worked, but now Firefox takes forever (3-5 min.) to open, and I keep getting a "non-responsive script" warning from Windows. My computer is also having issues - it's running extra slow, so that may be the problem, but as long as I've been using Firefox I've noticed that it's slower to open than other browsers.

I am having the same problem, but not sure what's causing the slow down. Restarting in safe mode fixes the performance problem... but disabling all plug ins and extensions in normal mode (and restarting firefox) still shows the bug. Any ideas?

Slow in opening up web pages?

Not sure why, my N900 seems to be pretty slow in opening up web pages. The home screen says that I am on 3.5G. At times the page wouldn't even get loaded (white screen or connection error).
To test if it is due to bad coverage, I pull out the SIM card and put it back to my N97. And the web pages seem to load a lot faster (and smoother). This is strange. Is there some settings I need to fiddle with? I have tried changing the memory cache size from 5MB up but the improvement does not seem to be consistant. Now, I set the cache to auto.

there is an app which gives you control over the 2/3G networks but i live in a 2G area so i didn't download it and i'm not sure how much control it offers. i can't remember what it was called or where it was but i think it was on www.maemo.org but if i find it again i'll post you a link but in the mean time all i can suggest is clearing the private data which should help just make sure that the saved passwords is de selected
if you've always had this problem and this may sound stupid but i can be in a 3G area in my local town with a full signal and suffer the same problem yet if i go to the northern end of the town it works fine and my network provider vodafone say its interference from the buildings even tho the highest building only has 4 floors so you could just be in one of these spots

Pages 09 slow to open documents on iPhone 4

I've got iWork on my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2, as well as iWork 09 on Mountain Lion. I notice when I open a pages file on my iPhone, after it's been created on Mountain Lion and synced with iCloud, it is slow to load. This is after it gives a message about it looking different on iOS compared to my Mac. It then asks me if I want use "Open Copy" instead.
Is the slowness of opening the document due to some conversion? Is there a way of making the Pages documents load faster in some way and can this apply to the rest of iWork as well?

Encore CS5 Slow to Open, Switch App

Encore CS5 seems unusually slow to open a particular project file, and to switch into focus (i.e., from another running member of the suite). The file in question has half a dozen slide shows, encompassing about 350 Photoshop files. The individual Photoshop files are fairly large (e.g., >35MB). Could that be causing this unusual sluggishness?

I would convert the mp3 files to wav. There are just too many tales of problems.
I wonder if this is one of those situations where using the "run as administrator" may help.
Your current project may be corrupt. I find it easiest to start over, using the scaled down images and wav files.

FCP 5 on Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Dual-Core - project won't open

I feel SICK. I bought this Mac Pro and a new monitor, transferred all my data from my iMac and tried to open my FCP 5 project and what opened was a "new" project screen... yet there was a tab with my project's name on it as if it should have been there. Can I run my fcp 5 on this new Mac Pro?

I was afraid of that. However, in the the last 15 minutes, I opened another project and that opened, seemed to play correctly, so I'm confused. Is 5.0 not for Intel because of speed? Or actual editing capabilities? (Just need an education on that). So when I get FCP 2, once I've opened the program, can it read FPC 5.0 projects? And will I be able to convert the 5.0 projects into the FCP 2?

As a happy user of the Matrox RT.X2 for many years, and later an equally happy user of a Matrox MXO2, I can say from experience that it is highly unlikely that this problem has anything to do with the Matrox hardware!
Can you open a new blank project, and save it?
If you cannot import your faulty project into a new project, can you import the sequence from your faulty project?
Have you tried clearing the Media Cache, clearing your preferences, etc. - all among the techniques used to resurrect a Premiere Pro project that has gone bad???
