FCPx Update to 10.1 deleted all my projects

After updating to FCPx 10.1 it asked if I wanted to save the old projects and events. I a=said no - so it deleted all my projects.
does anyone know how I can get them back?
Previously if you didn't say to update projects you wouldn't see thm in FCPx.

Called FCPx Tech Support and they gave me a one time exemption, since it happened on an update.
The projects were not gone, although there were no old projects in the trash, like the info window said they would be. The old projects were just deleted.
The new FCPx 10.1 puts Events Libraries and Project Libraries together in one Library.
Since all my Projects were on my HD1, and most of the Events for those projects were on 3 other HDs, all my Projects were grouped with all my Events from HD1. They were in a folder called Updated Projects, but that folder also contained 364 clips from HD1, which made it hard to find the Projects.
So they were there all along, just didn't know how to find them or where to look.
There is no Project Library any more, if I understand it correctly. Projects and Events are in the same Library.
I will say this, the video quality after Update 10.1 increased 30 to 40% - stunning.

Iphone will sync with one and only one cpomptuer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer. This is the design of the iphone.
It will erase the content when you sync.
Why not update from the comptuer with which you normally sync?

Nope....I know. i need to blame myself. it just asked me when i pluged the phone to my pc for the first time since looong...
so. its okay. i had a back up with some pictures and some contacts and all that.
the install process just got an issue so it stoped half way through and i could only completely start over.
i was mad. now its okay

My plan was to create a vault(put all my master files into an external harddrive) and then delete all my projects in my mac pro's harddrive. Is it the correct way to do it ? What should I do if I have thousands of raw files ? How should my workflow be? Can I use an external HD and use aperture through the vault,without keeping the master files on my computer's hard drive?? Or should I shoot raw+jpeg and store raw files in an external backup harddrive and import only jpegs into my aperture library?

There's a bit to learn. It will slowly make sense.
Aperture is an empty field. You're given a tractor and a whole bunch of attachments. What you grow, how, and where, is entirely up to you.
Vaults are for back-up and only for back-up. They have nothing to do with storing your working files.
When your Library outgrows your system drive (and for good performance, you should leave c. 20% of every drive empty), it's time to convert some of your image's Masters from Managed to Referenced. ("Managed" and "Referenced" refer to Masters, not to Libraries.)
There are hundreds of posts in the forum, and several pages in the User Manual on using Masters.
Many people run Aperture with the Library on their system disk, and most (or all) of their images' Masters on external FW drives. This is a good set-up. Note that you will likely have to take steps to back-up the data on your external drives.
If you do the above, there should be no reason to delete any Projects.
The choice of RAW or RAW+JPEG or JPEG depends on the kind of work you are doing. I capture RAW only -- but I don't do any commercial shoots. Pros on deadlines report that the RAW+JPEG works well for them. Capture JPEG if it saves you time. IMHO, there is not a good reason to shoot JPEG to save space (space is cheap; time expensive).
Short-term solution: buy and use a FW800 external 1 TB drive, formatted "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", and using Aperture relocate the Masters of all images older than 30 days to that drive. (Be sure to change your back-up strategy to include this new drive; you may need a second new drive.)

Yes. You may not be able to restore all of it, depending on how much storage memory is left after the update. You can make more space on your phone by importing photos and videos to your compluter.

Updating to IOS 5 deleted all prior backups in Itunes

I updated my Iphone to IOS 5 which deleted my contacts. I have tried all of the solutions that I have found on other threads without success. I wanted to restore to a backup prior to updating to IOS 5 but it seems itunes has deleted it. I am using a windows XP computer and have a Iphone 3Gs. Please help

Did you manage to get it fixed? I'm having the same problem on my boss' 3GS. I used iPhone Backup Finder tool to locate all of my backups on our machine. Of course it didn't find his phone which was backup up prior to updating (which means it should've backed up twice seeing it does it again during an update). The tool found 3 other backups which show no info and look different than the others. This also makes sense because this is the 3rd phone in a row that updated from this machine which lost the backups. He do I manually use those files, or try to, to restore from backup in iTunes?

- An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library. Yu can however manage music and videos among different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
- To change syncing computer, move all the media to compute r#2
- Connect the iPod to #2 and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note tha the iPod backup the iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

Apps and music are NOT part of the backup that itunes performs.
If for some reason you have failed to transfer all purchases from the ipod to your computer before updating , then you can redownload some content in some countries.

Installing iOS updates does not remove anything from the device.
The user restoring the device as new or running the update on a computer that the device has never been synced with.
All apps and media should be in iTunes on the computer.
Connect the device.
Select the content desired to sync.
Sync.

Os X update 10.9.4 deleted all photos in iPhoto

When I installed the update from the App Store, and my Macbook Pro rebooted, I found that my desktop picture was one of the generic ones. I went into preferences to choose my other desktop pic and found all my iPhoto pics were gone. iPhoto was as if it was never set up, where I had 2000, some pics before. I know I can replace with my external hard drive, but with two more Macs to update, I`m afraid to install it. Any help please.

In iPhoto under File pick switch to Library and pick the iPhoto Library file that should be in your pictures folder (directory) or wherever you had it before.

Creative Cloud 2014 Update (07.31.14) Deletes All Preferences

Just installed the latest CC update and have lost all saved Workspaces, my Preferences file seems to have been trashed as I have to customize my settings again, and one of our team members cannot access files saved to the cloud.
Is there a workaround here, or are we just stuck typing in serial numbers for plug-ins and going through our Preferences all over again?

Why does iTunes delete all my music and then re-download (not all of) it when I sync?

So, I plugged my phone into my PC, and it loaded on the iTunes screen. I then went into the device and removed a couple of playlists from the phone (it had run out of space). When I then hit sync, rather than just removing the playlists and syncing to update anything that needed updated, it bloody well deleted ALL my music and then started downloading it again. We are talking about around 30-50GB of music. Not only this, but it appears to NOT download all the tracks on my playlists so I'm left with half the music I should have.
I have had this happen before and last time it totally screwed up my phone leaving me with the only option of completely reinstalling iOS7. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it fixable? Not only this, but I am aware of "manage music manually" but have no idea where it is or how to activate it. I'm just bloody sick of apple! Why can't they get their **** together and fix these little bugs. I love their hardware but they clearly have too many ego driven tossers programming their software who don't think fixing issues is their problem!
Any help would be most appreciated as it's driving me up the bloody wall! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!

I'm not sure why this happens, but I found a workaround. Below the album title it will list the artist(s). The issue seems to happen when there are multiple artists. For example, an Album titled "Over the Sea to Skye" has The Chieftains and James Galway as artists. Some tracks (for whatever reason) will list only one of these and result in the playlist showing what appears to be multiple albums. You can click on the artists and it will highlight. Paste in what is appearing on the other "albums" and it will then show as one:
Hope that is somewhat clear enough to help. Doesn't fix whatever the issue is but it is a workaround. For me this is only happening with CD's that I have imported.

Need suggestions for concurrent reads while deleting all entities

we need some suggestions for the following use case, as we cannot seem to find the correct transaction locking combination to meet our needs.
We are using BDB JE 4.1.10, and the entityStore is transactional. In a nutshell, BDB JE is used as a Cache for specific data that is pulled and updated regularly from a source Oracle DB. The application that holds BDB is a realtimel app, and response time is critical.
In order to avoid having to merge (Insert/update/delete) entities for some of the tables that are very static and small (a few hundred records that might change every day or so), we are trying to simply delete all records (with an EntityCursor loop, since there is no 'deleteAll' that we could find) and reinsert all data every 5 minutes, and then committing when the whole process is complete. This should always be very quick, but we are not immune to timeouts from the source Oracle DB, so the transaction can be long.
Ideally, while the delete/insert is happening, we want any concurrent read operations to return the old data (before the delete). We have made a test that locks the updater thread between the 'delete all' and 'update all' methods, so that the delete cursor is closed, but the Tx is not yet commited. We have tried the following for our reader thread:
1- If we get() a deleted entity with a LockMode.READ_UNCOMMITTED, we get a null entity back.
2- If we get() a deleted entity with LockMode.READ_COMMITTED, we get a LockTimeoutException.
We have also considered simply using truncate on the EntityStore, but this requires closing and reopening the DB, so this would not work for our need to always return a value, instantly.
Any ideas, suggestions on how we could do this in a simple manner?

Hello Max,
I understand the issue you're describing.
I think the best performing solution by far is to load the new data into new databases while servicing reads from the old databases. When the load is complete, reads can be diverted to the new databases, and the old databases can then be removed.
Unfortunately, this is easier to do with the base API than with the DPL, because the DPL is managing the underlying (base API level) databases for you.
However, even using the DPL, this approach could be very straightforward if you happen to be keeping this data set (the one that needs to be reloaded) in a separate EntityStore, or you can change your application to do so. If so, you can create a new (empty) EntityStore with a different name and use this store for loading the new data. When the load is complete, divert reads to the new EntityStore object and remove all databases for the old EntityStore.
If this is impractical, please explain, and I'll try to suggest a different solution. If you cannot use a separate EntityStore for this particular data set, then the solution may be more complex.

Will updating to iOS 5 delete all my apps off of my ipod or my app data/progress (games)?

The OS 5 deleted my apps and then corrupted my backups. Calling the Apple Care team did not help. They only corrupted my remaining backups so I have to download all the apps again and I have no "Notes" now. It will take me about 15 hours to gather together my "Notes" again and even then, they will never be complete. Don't download the new OS until they fix all the "features"!

I think it's not possible to remove for the data base in sap. However you can delete the records for the tables which is not suggetable. which server do you want to do this??
if developement yes you can delete the table records.
As per my experiance we should not delete the table records because it's linked many tables and diff modules in sap.
