Features id like to see added to Windows 10

Features id like to see added.
First i'm a advocate for windows 8.1 after i avoided 8 like the plague. I currently have two beautiful machines running windows 8.1 and i love them. Especially my new Surface pro 2. I love everything about the surface and how windows 8 works great with it.
Im excited for the Cortana AI coming to Windows 10. Also I huge Halo fan since 2000. And a PC, Xbox to Xbox360 now PC and lite nintendo. Id love for this Windows to be a revival of the PC platform as the front line gaming machine. For example i was into the
idea of cross platform gaming and loved games for windows live to see my Xbox friends and flaunt my PC gaming.nThis would be revolutionary if Windows 10 did this. Halo Masterchief Collection would be amazing.
1. Ability to customize  the charms bar right. Be able to map blutooth, wireless, and some choice folder shortcuts. Maybe Have Cortana as the search, a custom Cortona theme charms bar option.
2. Fix the auto brightness feature for the Surface pro 2. and add battery life via software optimizations.
3 Bring Halo Masterchief collection to Windows 10 as an exclusive to sell the operating system.

Thumbs up, How great to finally have the greatest showdown ever. PC vs Xbox tournament.

  • Features I'd like to see added to iTunes

I'm mostly pleased with iTunes and much prefer it over WMP10. The only niggle I have with it is that it won't let you copy playlists. So if I set up a smart playlist with a host of variables then want to create a copy with only one variable changed I have to go through the whole playlist creation process to make the new playlist. If there was a menu option whereby I could create a copy of a playlist and the new playlist would be called copy of... that would help in this regard.
Something else I'd like to see added is a mood rating - a bit like the 5 star rating you can attach to songs. It would be like the 5 star rating but instead of 5 stars you would rate songs from sad to happy. Then when you felt in a happy mood you could choose a smart playlist with all your happy songs or if you were in a sad mood you could choose a smart playlist with all your sad songs.
    Just my twoppence worth...

THANKS FOR YOUR DETAILED RESPONSE --SORRY TO HEAR YOU ARE HAVING
    CONVERSION PROBLEMS--HOPE THEY WORK OUT
I'll check out your suggestion re Buelie's discussions.
Regarding the conversion from Apple Lossless to lower bit rates, I understand
that its not time consuming from the discussions quoted below--but I am still
working on it (and still sitting on the fence re what bit rate I should use).
Secondly you mentioned the problem of duplicate songs--again I think it might
be easy to make the Lossless files distinctive. From the discussion below
I think they are already distinguished by "kind" which should make it easy to
add another distinguishing feature in a batch process. Unfortunately I'm not at that stage yet so I can't confirm that.
We are probably getting off the topic in this forum so this will probably be my last post here -- thanks again for all your help.
Below are some of the discussions (provided by King Cole) which you may or may not have read but which may provide useful:
Problem: Before I knew anything about bit rates or file sizes, I accidently imported a ton of my music as giant music files like Apple lossless! Now, my iPod has filled up with far fewer songs than Apple said could fit on my iPod! What do I do?!?
    Solutions:
You have a couple options now. What you are going to need to do is convert the songs to a smaller file size like mp3. Under your import preferences (which can be found under iTunes>Preferences>Import Tab if you use an Apple or File>Preferences>Import Tab if you use Windows), change the file type to the type you would like to convert your music too.
Then, in your music library, sort your music by "Kind." If there isn't a "Kind" column at the top of your library, right click or control-click the "sorting bar" and select Kind. Click on "Kind" so that the arrow is either pointing up or down. See what file types your songs are. Are there any that are already in the file format that you are about to convert to? If so, don't select those songs. Otherwise, select the other songs (we'll say for discussion purposes that you chose AAC under the Import tab). Right click or control-click the selected songs and choose "Convert to AAC." iTunes will then copy and paste all the songs you selected into the new file format, AAC. Now, you have two options. If you have plenty of memory on your computer, I would choose Option 2.
    Option 1:
You could delete all the music in the large file format from your library and continue syncing the iPod automatically.
Pros: You don't have to change any of the settings you use to sync your iPod. You also save hard drive space.
Cons: You delete the higher quality music. If you ever want to play your iPod through a stereo or high quality speakers, you won't have the high quality music to play. Also, you have to recreate all your iTunes playlists.
    Option 2
Make a Smart playlist (File>Make New Smart playlist). Choose "Kind" in the first drop down menu. Choose "Does Not Contain" from the next drop down menu. Then, type in "Apple Lossless or whatever the large song file type was." What this does is essentially create a separate library for you; one that contains no large files. Now, depending on how many playlists you have, you may want to replace the songs in the playlists with AAC files, but if you don't have too many playlists with large files, it should not be a problem. Next, connect your iPod. Go to File>Preferences>iPod Tab Choose automatically update selected playlists only. Then select all the playlists, including the smart playlists, you want to sync onto your iPod. This will sync all the files in your library, excluding those in the large format.
Pros: You get the best of both world. You have all the lossless files on your computer, and all the AAC files on your iPod.
Cons: You take up a lot of file space on your computer when you virtually duplicate your library.

  • What Features Would YOU Like To See Added To Encore?

I'm a relative newbie to DVD authoring, though I've completed hundreds of successful Projects. I also have used few other authoring programs, before Encore. I'd be interested in hearing what others would like to see added to Encore. This is kinda' like your "Feature Request," but it's really only for my interest and edification, as I cannot imagine Adobe reading the Lounge forum.
To date, every thing that I have wanted to do has been accomplished by either reading this forum, a couple of books or asking specific questions, and then using various workarounds. Maybe I have not set my DVD authoring sights high enough. That's why I'm posing my question to you. I also hope to get ideas for neat "things," that I never even have thought about.
    Thanks,
    Hunt

A real coaching app would be much appreciated.  All the one alread offered does the samething... designing drills.
We (the coaches) need more than that, we need something to allow us follow and take note, comment our teams/players/coach.

  • What would you like to see added to GB4?

The title pretty much says it.
I would like to see the AUNetSend and AUNetRecieve be able to work together internally in GB to create some kind of vocoder. I would also like to be able to mix down a file while it's still editable/useable so I can tweak as I need to (for example, move the parameters on some of the effects).
That's good for now...what do you think?
(and I know that this post is a little early, but programming takes time and I want them to get a head start)

I agree that this is almost futile. Apple is gearing GB towards podcasts instead of music recording. THAT is NOT GarageBand. That is for a DJ wannabe. GarageBand was originally about making music, not being a DJ. I am happy to have GB2 as a tool, and even happier I moved to Logic Express. However, the newest upgrade to LE was most of the same upgrades GB got. If Apple continues in this direction, many serious musicians are going to abandon both apps for something made for recording period.
I have nothing against podcasting at all. In fact it is pretty cool. I have a couple that I know of that feature my stuff regularly. But I think GarageBand and Logic should remain what they are supposed to be, recording apps for musicians. Apple could have easily done a separate app for the podcasters, while allowing us to have some of the upgrades we all asked for. Considering how that list was totally ignored and was from those who frequent the forums that Apple set up for us, I find it hard to believe that they are even listening to anything we have to say.

  • IWEB Features you would like to see added

Hi I have posted this here to see what users would like from iweb. I hope to compile the list and send it as a suggestion to Apple. It would be good to have one central location for all requests.
I don't know if iweb can support some of these requests but here goes.
Simple Google/search engine listing feature for all iweb sites
Simple site backup to a folder or location/hard drive etc
Easy Transfer, One cilck transfer of site for editing on another computer
Ability to change the text size and font of the home pages and menu bar.
A flash player that takes photos video with an on/off mute function, scalable with the ability to adjust the time each photo is displayed.
A magnification too that allows photos to be enlarged once the cursor hovers over them/scalable in size
A set of flash wipes and transitions for introducing your text/videos.
A paypal shopping cart system, doesn't have to be a full web shop just the facility to sell a few items via our site.
Ability to host a few sites say 4 max. I have a personal site and a small business site and would like to host both ( Maybe I can do this ! I am still discovering things about iweb)
A rapid loading function that you can drop you site into and it will format for quickest loading.
Maybe allow different compression settings like in Final Cut for different types of content.
(don't know if you can do this but it would be great)
A contact page that is linked to my mobile me account as well as my site, this allows me have the one location or a second to forward my mail to.
Ok Thats all I can think of at the moment, I'm sure their are a ton more suggestions out there.
    Regards

Here are a few more items for your wish list:
    1. ability to import a published site.
    2. a full fledged eCommerce / PayPal capability is a must.
    3. ability to edit a template and save changes to the template, or create your own.
    4. ability to import templates from other iLife or iWork programs such as Keynote and Pages

  • Features I would very much like to see in Flash CS5

Just a preface: I'm coming at this from the perspective of a professional Flash character animator.  I've worked on two TV shows and one big-budget online virtual world/game and I've been using Flash professionally since MX 2004.  I've also written a lot of JSFL commands and done a little actionscript programming (I used to be a software engineer, so the programming comes pretty maturally to me).
So with that said, here are some of the things that I'd really like to see in the next version of Flash, approximately in order from more to les important:
    3. Stability and user friendliness.  Please, guys, spend a little more time on polish and leave off the one or two extra cool features that you were thinking about throwing in.
    13. Color management.  I can't emphasize this one enough.  COLOR MANAGEMENT!  Take a look at Toon Boom Studio for what I'm talking about.  Particularly in large projects, the ability to have a real color palette, rather than just having each shape have an RGBA value, would be incredibly useful.  That way if I decide I don't like the color of a character's shirt I could just change the shirt color palette entry and it would automatically update every shape in the file that used that palette entry.  An extra bonus, though less important, would be to be able to control it from Actionscript -- to be able to change a palette entry dynamically at run-time.
    5. non-affine transforms for symbols.  Particularly, we want trapezoidal/perspective skew!  I've heard SO many people talk about wanting this.  I was hoping that the 3D stuff in CS4 would allow it, but no such luck.  While it's theoretically possible the controls just aren't set up to allow it.
    1. Make EVERYTHING in the Flash authoring environment scriptable.  Currently there are a number of things that can be neither scripted nor given a keyboard shortcut, (for instance the onionskinning controls).
    2. Make Flash remember its maximized status from the previous session (this is a problem in many Adobe products).
    4. Real hardware 3d acceleration.
    6. Refine the JSFL API to be more thorough and consistent (see also #1).  Make it so that everything you can do in JSFL happens in a way that makes sense.  For instance, a couple problems I had recently: delete a shape from the stage and then draw a new one with Path.makeShape() and the new shape is created as if the old one were still there (with extra vertices at edge intersections); and Path.makeShape() won't create cubic paths -- it automatically converts cubic contours to quadrilateral ones.
    7. Speaking of types of paths: Make the distinction between quadrilateral and cubic paths clearer to the user.  Most people I talk to don't have any idea what the difference is, or that cubic paths are likely to produce more vertices than they expect in the final SWF.  In fact, I think you should consider ditching the distinction entirely, at least from the user's perspective.  Make every path in the authoring environment cubic, and just convert them to quadrilateral (if you must) on export.  This'll relieve a lot of annoyance from users unexpectedly finding that their shape they just created very frugally suddenly has three times as many vertices.
    8. Make bones work better on raw shapes.  In fact, make them work more like Maya: each bone should affect each vertex to a degree decidable by the user.  Currently bones affect each vertex either 0% or 100%, which means that, for instance, it's nearly impossible to get a smoothly curving snake.
    9. Add at least one new fill style: we have radial blending, but the major one we're missing is the OTHER kind of radial -- with rays shooting our from a center.  Perhaps less realistically, I can't tell you how much it would rock to be able to use a path-based color blend -- where the blend actually follows an arbitrary path (like what you can do in Synfig -- www.synfig.org).
    10. Add precision to the stage.  Currently it's very hard to position things when zoomed in close, and display artifacts are show up on curves, where they get flattened out for no apparent reason.  I think the display artifacts are new to CS4, so perhaps it's just a bug that needs to be worked out in the new display engine?  But the current situation is a real pain -- where any symbol that's created relatively small will unavoidably contain rendering and positioning issues.
    11. A feature that's been missing (and sorely missed by TV animators) since Flash 8 is the ability to smoothly copy and paste from Flash to Illustrator.  There's absolutely no reason this shouldn't be an easy task, and I'm still confused as to why it disappeared from MX 2004 to Flash 8.  It's extremely useful for applying art brushes to paths or animating 3D door swings in Illustrator and then bringing the art back into Flash.
    12. For that matter, what about art brushes in Flash?  I realize they would be heavy in the SWF -- either in rendering time or in space used -- but you've already got stipled brushtrokes, and aren't those just as heavy?  Art brushes would be INCREDIBLY useful to animators and designers.
    14. Engage with the people who use Flash.  Get some dialogue going on between users and developers.  Most Flash users I meet (admittedly mostly character animators and character rig builders/designers) have very specific wishes for Flash, and for the most part they coincide very nicely.  Yet release after release we don't see any of the changes, features, or bugfixes, that seem the most obvious.

    Hi there,
I can assure you that the wishlist is monitored by our team. It does not go into a black hole or shredder - the messages are read by the Flash team, and forwarded as needed, and non-duplicate/legitimate bugs are filed.
Some of the things on your list are known. I'll go through the items, and encourage you to send some messages along these lines (I'd recommend one submission per item, but this is up to you).
    * Stability and performance: This is definitely still being worked on. You'll see a lot of that work in the Flash 10.0.2 update, and I can assure you it's still a priority.
    * Color management improvements: We do have bugs in this area filed, I believe very similar or the same as you have below, but  please feel free to your ideas in this area if you'd like to ensure they're covered.
    * Transforms for symbols (3D), and hardware acceleration: Should submit this to the Flash Player wishform (which is external, enabling votes) - if they support it, that support can be transferred to the authoring tool. http://bugs.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    * Keyboard shortcuts and JSAPI: Please submit any specific requests (exact areas that are missing). For the keyboard shortcuts for UI where they cannot yet be assigned, this would be a separate request (I'm not sure about the feasibility of buttons as opposed to menu items).
    * Cubic vs quadratic paths: This is known and is a difference between the authoring tools/UI and Flash Player, and it's the reason for "10" (more precision to the stage). It's not really about artifacts or precision, but about how Flash Player renders curves in general. If you draw in an AS2 document, you won't see the change from curves to flat edges. If you export that document to the Player in AS2, you'll see the "artifacts" you see on the stage in AS3 documents. This is a known issue of the authoring UI and drawing tools, and making this better is really really high priority in my books too.
    * Bones: Many issues are known and presently being worked on.
    * Fill style: Please feel free to file this enhancement request, I'm not sure if it has been requested.
    * Cross-product copy/paste (Illustrator): This is known, but if you have some specific issues or workflows you've encountered and want to make sure its rectified, please send that along.
    * Brushes: Definitely requested/known. I'd love to see that too, in particular.
    * Engaging with users: Definitely covered too!  That's why we have betas (which do include prominent animators), why I hang out here, and so on. We do have designers (I went to art school) and animators on the team too. I know how it feels though - many of the features I'd most like to see can't be added yet, as Flash covers such a broad user base from coders to animators (many releases have left the coders feeling the same way). All I can say is please submit your feedback to the wishlist, and continue to voice up about what you'd most like to see in Flash with the specifics.
    Great feedback!
    Thanks.

  • How to a make a suggestion about new features i'd like to see in itunes

how to a make a suggestion about new features i'd like to see in itunes?
I can't find any link to do this. I found a page where you can request songs or an album to be added, but i can't find a page to submit my suggestions for itunes i have for new features i'd like to see

As of now there is no good, direct link for feedback on iTunes itself. Writing Apple might be the best option, with the website feedback page perhaps the next best.

  • I would like to see the added keywords under the picture like iPhoto does it. Is that possible? I cannot find an answer

I would like to see the added keywords under the picture like iPhoto does it. Is that possible? I cannot find an answer in Aperture 3.2.1

Hello Wontolla, I meant the Aperture main menu, there is a sub menu "View", see the Screenshot:
Set all flags in the Metadata Display submenu as I did,  to show Metadata in Viewer and Browser, and then select "Customize"
Pick the Metadata fields you want to display for all views.
Make sure, that "Contents -> Keywords" is checked.

  • Features I would like to see in the next version o...

Following are some of the drawbacks in the OVi suite when compared to PC suites from other manufacturers. As a Nokia Ovi user I would love to have these features added to Nokia OVi suite as I believe they are very useful,
1.OVi suite doesnt show the mobile network coverage. This could be a useful feature as user can see whether the mobile is having enough range when using OVi to send SMS's.
2.OVi suite doesnt show the available battery level.
3.Ovi suite should also list the call details as well. Now only messages,contatcs,Photos/Videos,music store, maps and software updates are shown.Having the call logs (received/missed/dialled) will be a very useful feature.
4.Ovi suite does not have any option to view the Notes and Calendar entries on the phone. This is also one useful feature i have found in other mobiles and their PC suites.
Hope Nokia will consider adding the above mentioned features in Ovi suite in future.

    Hello @sjose2x,
Have you seen this announcement from Nokia Beta Labs?
    http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-suite-beta
There could be some features you listed above and what is very
exciting you will have an opportunity to give your feedback directly to
the team behind the Nokia Suite.

Unfortunately, we were not able to migrate the polls and topics to the new system when we launched. The good news is that we still have access to the data and are investigating our migration options available.
We will also focus on getting some new topics and polls out to the community in the next few weeks.

  • What features would you like to see in a Java Decompiler?

    Hello all,
(I'm assuming if you're viewing this thread you use(d) a decompiler for development purposes).
I'm just about to embark on my final year dissertation for university and I am going to develop a Java decompiler.
I have researched existing decompilers, e.g. Mocha, DeJaVu etc and have come up with my own feature set, but I was wondering what other Java developers would like to see in a decompiler. e.g. Support for Generics (and other v.5 features)
So please let me know of anything you would like to see in a decompiler; possible IDEs to plug into, GUI, backwards compatibility, possible plugins, J2EE support, anything at all...
    Thank you for your time.
    Cheers, joe

Support for DICOM SR, DICOM SEG, and Annotation and Image Markup (AIM) as output formats for the segmentation and reports would be helpful.
It would also be great to see support for native DICOM files as input rather than needing to convert to one of the other formats you currently accept.

  • My top 5 items i'd like to see in the next FCX update...

hopefully someone from Apple development reads this!
Allow custom frame sizes for projects. a MUST!  not everyone is creating movies in a standard video format - videos are needed for e-commerce, display panels, and web banners that wont fall into a standard video formats.  (this is easy to do with FC7 and all other pro editing software out there)
Paste attributes, like in FC7 - be able to select which attributes to paste (motion, filters, etc, or all)
Batch processing of projects and compound clips -  must be a way to select multiple projects or clips and batch export or at least send them all to compressor as a batch.  There is no way for our company to use the software if we are forced to select each clip separately -
Export using multiprocessors - this feature was removed with FCX 10.0.4 update - please bring it back!!!  (why would we want to lose good features like this?)
I'd like to see simple color tags brought to FC PRO X.  it is a very easy way to visually see which projects/sequences/events are complete, or need to be exported, or need to be re-shot, etc.  It's a standard for apple applications, not sure why it is missing here.  Favorites don't replace a simple color tag -  (unless you can see some kind of indication that the item is a favorite, without clicking on it and opening it up - that defeats the purpose, for me at least.)
and one last request  (for good luck...)  keyframing is very cumbersome in the new FCX.  There needs to be a much easier way to add keyframes than clicking on that tiny diamond box, or clicking on the transform - for EACH spot you want to keyframe...  also you can no longer hold the shift key to keep the motion on a single axis.  there needs to be a simple way to move the video left or right (or up and down) without effecting the other axis.
I'm sure there are much bigger requests out there, but since my day to day use of Final cut is pretty basic - (we rarely use audio or advanced features)  it seems logical (to me) to get these basic functions back.  Unfortunately, we cant purchase upgrades and start using this software until at least the first three requests are met.  Until then we will continue to edit on FC7 - and when we are forced to upgrade our software, we hope the needed functions are available or we'll be forced to switch to Premiere, that already functions similarly to FC7.

Apple engineering reads feedback not the forums.
    All good feature requests.
You don't need to add keyframes by clicking on the keyframe button at every point. You set the first keyframe value. Go to a different point in time and change the value and a keyframe will automatically be added.
