Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) No longer working - Please help!
Ok... here we go. I cannot RDC to my network at work. I originally was using a PC and was able to connect a few times using RDC before it stopped working. It would not connect either wirelessly or connected via ethernet cable no matter what I tried. I then tried a laptop from work - same problem. I then went and bought a new Macbook Pro - connected no problem 5 times in a row until it stopped worked again out of the blue.
In summary:
- same problem exists on Macs and PCs
- same problem exists when using Wifi or Ethernet cable
- problem ONLY occurs at home with my FIOS router - all the same computers can RDC using any other network
- if I connect to my neighbor's Wifi on either a Mac or PC, it's works fine
Please help!! I've been looking at my router settings but I'm over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated.I am going to take an educated guess as to why, it does not work. If this does not solve the issue, please post,

Firelight 80 GB no longer working, please help!!

my firelight external hard drive is no longer working. the light is on, i hear the motor working but it is not registering on my mac.no icons appear.
do i have to download some new drivers? if so where from and what is its name?

A couple of things we can try...
1.) If you open Disk Utility, do you see the hard drive there?
2.) If you open System Profiler, do you see the drive present on the device tree bus?
What type of drive is it, USB or FireWire? -
Divx and other media related plugins always crash and/or no longer work, please help
Why is nothing of divx seems to work anymore? Every time i try to watch a video online using a divx site or site that uses a divx player, i get the message
"divx plus web player pluging has cashed, send crash report"
I send it - then am offered the option to reload the page once reloaded a press play the player then says connecting and then crashes again!!!

None of the divx plugins are recognised anymore and the divx web player add on is marked as incompatible, and there is not an option to enable it! When i click on the '''bold text'''more '''bold text'''option all that apears is the link to website where you download the exact same up to date version that you already have.
im using windows vista home basic 32-bit operating system, & the new version of firefox.
Its really annoying that these extensions and plugins no longer work crash and/or are no longer recognised espcially considering firefox insisted we upgrade for security issue etc and that 3.6 wont be kept up to date any more, I want reinstall the 3.6 version but am worried about security issues now.
will the divx plugin and addon/extension be added to this new version anytime soon if not what can i do to enable me to watch videos without the plugin crashing ? (i have updated all the pluggins but the problem still occurs) ?I am having the same problems as well. Every time I turned around there was a new version of Firefox 8.0. Prior to the constant updating of Firefox I was able to watch movies from Stagevu and Veehd and now because of the new Firefox I cannot watch any movies. I also tried the VLC plugin and that constantly crashes as well as the DivX Web Player. I read so many complaints and no one from Firefox or any of the other browser is giving any of their constituents or customers whatever you want to call us any solutions to the problem and I am beginning to get a little frustrated. I have tried all of the other browsers like the Internet Explorer and Google Chrome and I still come up with the same problem.

I have an ipad, version 5.1.1 and ibooks no longer works, i have followed advice re restarting etc but no joy. is there a way i can send the contents somewhere and retieve them especially pdf's? i have synced with itunes and they are not accessible with my laptop. any advice would be gratefully recieved.
The latest version of iBooks in the App Store will not work with iOS 5.1.1.
However, you can download a compatible version of iBooks onto your iPad as shown here:

Airport Connected Printer No Longer Working - Please Help!
I have an Airport Extreme connected to Road Runner Cable Modem serving a the Main Base Station.
I have a Xerox Phaser 7750DN Color Laser Printer connected via USB to another Airport Extreme serving as a Remote Base Station.
I have an Airport Express operating as a Remote Base Station to extend the netwrok into a part of the house not reached by the Main Base Station.
I have a G5 PowerMac, G5 iMac, G4 iMac, and a G4 PowerBook, all on the wireless network. They are all running Tiger.
I used to have no problem printing to the Xerox Phaser. But recently have had problem printing from any of the computers to the Xerox Phaser.
I have tried everything that I can think of, but nothing appears to work.
Could any help? It is a big problem for me.

i have a powerbook g4 and an imac g4 both using an Airport Extreme for shared internet access and printing to the hp printer via Airport's USB port.
i think i lost the ability to print right after allowing my powerbook to upload new software to the Airport Extreme base station. not certain that is the reason, but the timing is right. the base station still shares my internet connection (both computers can surf), and both computers can print when the printer is connected directly to a computer USB port.
does anyone know how i could revert to the prior version of AE software (on the base station)? -

I backed up my Iphone to itunes so i can do the new Update to IOs 7 and so now that i updated it i want to backup and restore and its not working, Please help!
An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it. i am a OS10.7.4 user. yesterday i bought a Lacie external hard disk but error message appear said " You cant open the applicant LaCie setup assistant because PowerPC applicants are no longer support". please help me how to connect my mac with Lacie??
You do not need the Setup Assistant; in fact, you do not need any software on an external hard drive. I have two LaCie's; I erased the drive as soon as I plugged it in. You will need to format it anyway because most hard drives come Windows formatted. So, if you only want to use it with the Mac, highlight it in Disk Utility and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format and the GUID Partition scheme under Options. While doing that, it will erase the drive (and get rid of the LaCie software) - once finished, your drive is ready to use for Time Machine or any other backup plans you have for it.

Try this repair for Keynote 6.2, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

empty the trash: Finder > Empty Trash

Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.
Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive

when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions

when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

Theres almost a trick to it for first time users, goto SETTINGS...General......Cellular (if Verizon) ....Personal Hotspot, turn it on.....turn on wifi on your Mac, select your Iphone. Enter password.
If you take too long doing it, youll need turn turn off and on real quick the "personal hotspot" slider on the Phone.......then go quick again thur the Mac. -
Can't find a playlist I created on my playlist or computer? I didn't delete it. I don't want to create it again because it took a long time. please help me find and recover.
Playlists only exist as part of the larger iTunes library listing so if you are not seeing it there it doesn't exist anywhere else. I know with my older version of iTunes it is very easy to accidentally delete a playlist. With newer versions it may be possible to recover it with the undo feature in the menu but this likely will only work immediately after the deletion.

If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.
