Disaster:
Takes too long to load (even if FF opened first, any other browser opens before FF)
everything slows, even the other browser
session won't restore
can't select windows, tabs or links
spinning beach ball of death, but only in FF - not any other programs; force quit application says FF "not responding"
Mac top line (, running program, file, edit, view …) doesn't display FF even if that is the program I'm using
I set network.seer.enabled to false.
I went to (work box, top right corner) > ? > troubleshooting info > reset FF
and lost all of my unpinned tabs. How do I get them back?

You can try [about:sessionrestore] otherwise you may have to find them in the History.

The direct "copy and paste" from the post did not work: I had to retype it :
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
but then it worked like a charm!

And btw: I turned on the "-v" option for the lsregister to see, what was going on, and saw plenty of error messages (error -10811); so I repeated the command with "sudo". After that I still saw five iPhotos. Repeating as regular user finally got rid of the redundant iPhoto entries. It looks like registering as super user may be causing this trouble.

1. offline complete backup taken 2 days ago. database was in archive mode.
2. today i lost my system data file, and also lost my all archived files.
3. i started up the database but, the following error was generated.

Where did the music come from e.g. bought from iTunes, copied from CDs ? You can only upload music to iTunes Match from a computer's iTunes, so if those songs were copied from CDs then were they in your computer's iTunes library when you subscribed to it ?
When you turn on Match on an iOS device you are effectively saying that you want to replace the music that is on that device and use what you have stored in Match instead.

How do I recover Firefox tabs?

I always click out of Firefox by hitting the box to save tabs from this session. I am a very visual person and having those tabs restored vastly helps me with my next work session. Two days ago I clicked out, and when I came back on, Firefox went to my default Google homepage, with no additional tabs. I have been laboriously working my way through past history (which includes EVERY time I opened an email, so it is dense), but wondered if there was some way to recover the tabs without the extensive search? any help appreciated. Check the following setting to make sure it is set to open the last set of tabs

If it is set correctly, the file that stores details of sessions may be corrupt, you can delete that file to see if it helps.

Hi there,
I have been having a hell of a time over the last couple days days to recover my lost tabs in Firefox, which vanished yesterday morning (Restore Previous Session and Restore Closed Tabs were both greyed out). Actually, my add-ons have also been removed and many of my settings seem to have reverted back to their default state.
My default setting was to show my windows and tabs from last time, but I recently updated Advanced System Care, and it seems that its AutoClean feature (which sweeps cookies, surfing history, cookies, browser cache, etc. at startup) removed all of this. I'm pretty sure this was the culprit, anyway - curiously my history seems to have not been deleted. But I did get a notification after I booted that AutoClean had run and done its thing.
I had a lot of tabs open, which I realize is not necessarily a best practice, that had some important information on them. Sifting through my browsing history to find all of the important tabs I had open would probably take weeks and isn't really an option at this point. Also, my tabs didn't open until they were clicked, so I wouldn't be able to just look at the history over the last few days (since some of them were originally opened quite a while ago and haven't been clicked since).
I would tremendously appreciate any assistance that anyone could provide in recovering these tabs or a previous day's session/state. I have done a lot of reading so far but haven't been able to find an answer that works. If someone has one, that would make me extremely happy. I am using Windows 7 64 bit.

You you no longer have access to that previous session via the sessionstore.js file, but still have the history then you need to check the history and use one of the sort options like sort by visited date to see which pages have been visited during that time period.
You can try to restore a previous version of the sessionstore.js file.

the problem is in the firefox tab strip at the bottom of the page. i have attached two screenshots . when i open more than 6 tabs, they all get compressed into 1 tab. i want all tabs to stay open individually, and the tab strip should therefore have a page scroller icon forming when many tabs open. i have had this in the earlier computer i had, but recently got a new one. now i cant figure how to set firefox to do what i need.

Considering the limited storage of my external disk, I have excluded all of my photos and musics to be backed up. Today I got some problems of my system and started using time machine to restore my computer to the state of August. After restoring, I found all of my photos and musics and other important files which have been excluded to be backed up by time machine are missing. What a disaster. Is there any way to recover all the missing files? Or is it possible to undo today's time machine recovery? Many thanks in advance!
