FI-SL steps to create a posting

Hi Gurus,
Pls share with me, how can this be done.
I need to test create an posting.
regards
Adette

Hi Adette,
FI-SL receives the data from external applications, so if FI doc gets posted and if customizing is correct in SL, you'll be able to display FI-SL document from FB03 -> display document overview -> environment -> accounting documents.
If you want to post locally within FI-SL, tcd:GB01 is available, but this transaction is usually used for making an adjustment posting.
As to the error message with FB01, use document type AB. Or go to tcd OBA7 and deactivate "reference number" box at the bottom of the screen.

  • STEPS for creating IDOC .

I need to creat IDOC for whenever  delivery is created .

    Hi
Take the correct Idoc type and Message Type and process code from EDBAS and EDMSG tables and use
    see the doc
    Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
*WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

  • What is Cycle or steps to create Stock transfer between plants.

What is Cycle or steps to create Stock transfer between plants.
Reply with T Codes & Justify

    Hello RM
We can transfer stocks within a company code between 2 plants using 3 methods:
    1) Using single step simple stock transfer (Mvt Type 301).
    2) Using two step stock transfer (Mvt Types 303 and then 305).
    3) Using a stock transport order(STO) again it is based on 2 things:
    a) r u using STO with delivery or
    b) without delivery.
Though the first two steps are very simple to process but using STO has its own advantages: 1) Quantity in transit can be monitored 2) delivery costs can be entered in the STO.
First 2 steps (single step and 2 step plant to plant transfer) can be done using MIGO tcode , selecting stock transfer and entering the relevant mvt types.
would like to tell you about STO as it is an important process.
STO without delivery, the following functions are provided to support the Internal Stock Transfer without Delivery :
    #Create Stock Transport Order
#Post goods issue for stock transport order
#Post goods receipt for stock transport order
Config Step required before processing above steps:
Setting Up Stock Transport Order: Purchasing Document Type, the purpose of this activity is to specify which document type is to be used for a certain combination of supplying (issuing) plant and receiving plant.
Path go to SPRO--MM-Purchasing---PO-Set up STO-----assign doc type, one step procedure, underdelivery tolerances.
There you have to enter your supplying and receving plant with the Purchasing doc type( UB).
    Now the process:
    1) Receiving plant will create a STO towards issuing plant.
    2) Issuing plant will transfer material from their unrestricted use stock to stokc in transit using mvt type 351.
    3) Receiving plant receives the goods using MIGO mvt type 101.

  • Steps to create Multiprovider and infosets..

    Hi gurus,
Can anyone post me steps to create multiprovider and infosets..
    Points will be awarded.
    Thanks in advance,
    Venkatesh

A MultiProvider is a type of InfoProvider that combines data from a number of InfoProviders and makes it available for analysis purposes.
The MultiProviders itself does not contain any data. Its data comes entirely from the InfoProviders on which it is based. MultiProviders only exist as a logical definition. These InfoProviders are connected to one another by a union operation.
One can combine InfoCube, ODS objects, InfoObjects and InfoSets in a MultiProvider.
A union operation is used to combine the data from these objects into a MultiProvider.
Here, the system constructs the union set of the data sets involved. In other words, all values of these data sets are combined.
InfoSets allows reporting on several InfoProviders by using combinations of InfoObjects (master data-bearing characteristics) and ODS objects via a join condition.
An InfoSet can have following join conditions
    Inner Join
    Left Outer Join
Inner join and left outer join are only different in the situation where one of the involved tables does not contain any suitable record which meets the join conditions.
    steps for creatin multiprovider.
Step1: Enter Transaction RSA1. Right Click on Infoarea and select u2018Create MultiProvideru2019. Provide technical name and description for the MultiProvider.
Step2: Select Data Targets (InfoCube, ODS and InfoObject or Infosets) on which MultiProvider should be based.
Step3: Select the Characteristics which should be part of the MultiProvider design.
Step4: Select Time Characteristics and Key figures.
Step5: Create dimensions and assign the characteristics to the dimensions.
Step6: Identify the characteristics, time characteristics and key figures in u2018Identificationu2019 tab.
Step7: Save and Activate the MultiProvider.
    steps for creating infoset.
Step1: Enter Transaction RSA1. Right Click on InfoArea and select u2018Create InfoSetu2019. Provide technical name and description for the InfoSet.
Step2: Choose ODS or InfoObject on which  you want to build InfoSet.
Step3: Select the characteristics/key figures required in InfoSet design and join the common characteristics via Inner or Left Outer Join.
Step 4: Save and Activate InfoSet.
hope this helps you in creating them...

  • Create thumbnail Poster - script err

I was trying to use Create Thumbnail Poster from the Apple site and wanted to try and use it in Aperture instead of iPhoto. I am getting errors - I tried to select the iPhoto "Get Selected..." to see if that was working. Nope! I get a green checkmark in the action to show it can get the items (from either app) but the script errs when it gets to the Create Thumbnail Poster action. Any use this with success?

Yes, that is the one I was referring to. I cannot get it to work in iPhoto either! When I even try to open the workflow that is saved to the desktop on installation, it opens and says that the "Create Thumbnail Poster" will return an error because it is not installed... BUT it IS installed and appears under the PDF actions!!
I dont mind using iPhoto for such a project - but I cant even get it to work there. I'd hate to have to go the extra step and use iPhoto and would prefer to use Aperture, but that's fine for now. I am sure someone with Apple Script knowledge will come along eventually and write the same thing.
    This is the error:

  • Need steps to create: Users, and then allocate authorization profiles.

    Hello,
I have set up release procedures using a how to doc which was posted an sap123.com. It doesnt go through how to do this, only gives a screen shot. The SAP environment is a test environment for training. We have maybe 4 users existing in system. I would like to know how to first create a user, then go through PFCG and create and allocate authorization profiles. They need to be able to approve PR's/ PO's using the two release codes and release groups I have set up. The steps I followed are posted here: http://www.sap123.com/showthread.php?t=59.
    Thanks for any help.

Thanks. I do have authorization to create users/ roles & such. I have created 3 specifically to test the workflow I am trying to set up that contains release procedures.
In PFCG - I created a new role MATMGT. On the Menu tab, Assign Transactions screen, could someone please tell me what the Transaction Code would be so that, when I goto the Authorizations tab and click on the Change Authorization Data button, I get a "Materials Management: Purchasing" row displayed in the Change Role: Authorizations screen. I am following http://www.sap123.com/showthread.php?t=59 - and am stuck at the "Create and allocate authorisation profiles" section, as there are no steps detailing the usage of PFCG.

  • Easy Step to Create Servlet in Tomcat x.x

    Hi to all,
Lot of guys asking how to code / compile / deploy / run / etc.. in tomcat x.x.
    so
Here is an step by step to create a simple servlet and deploy and run in tomcatx.x
    step 1:
    for ex:
         your CONTEXT path is
         c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root     save your howtocode.java under c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root\WEB-INF\classes\temp <folder>
    if (classes folder not found)
create folder under WEB-INF \ classes (small letter)
    under classes dir > you to create temp (thats your package name);
    get into that dir
    c:\> cd c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root\WEB-INF\classes\temp
    //compile
c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root\WEB-INF\classes\temp>javac -classpath "c:\tomcatx.x\common\lib\servlet-api.jar" howtocode.java -d "c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root\WEB-INF\classes\temp" now class file will create and stored into c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root\WEB-INF\classes\temp folder
note: if you are using tomcat4.1 servlet.jar not servlet-api.jar , check it first by open your lib folder under tomcatx.x
    step 2
    open web.xml (under => c:\tomcatx.x\webapps\root\WEB-INF)
add this code inside <web-app> </web-app>

              out.println( "</body></html>" );

I see you posting that kind of basic tutorials often. Why don't you start a website where you can save this information in? That's more worthful than posting it in a discussionforum.
Anyway, there are silly typo's in the method names of the servlet. Futher on rather introduce separation in the business and view tiers than mixing them in one servlet.

  • Steps to create LOGICAL DATABASE in sap

    hi guys,
i have gone through many documents about LDB. But, i didnt get the steps to create a LDB.
plz provide me with the steps to be followed to create a LDB.
    thnx,
    shivaa.

    Hi Shiva,
    This might help you!
    Logical database structures
There are three defining entities in an SAP logical database. You must be clear on all three in order to create and use one.
Table structure: Your logical database includes data from specified tables in SAP. There is a hierarchy among these tables defined by their foreign keys (all known to SAP), and you are going to define a customized relationship between select tables. This structure is unique and must be defined and saved.
Data selection: You may not want or need every item in the referenced tables that contributes to your customized database. There is a selection screen that permits you to pick and choose.
Database access programming: Once youu2019ve defined your logical database, SAP will generate the access subroutines needed to pull the data in the way you want it pulled.
    Creating your own logical database
ABAP/4 (Advanced Business Application Programming language, version 4) is the language created by SAP for implementation and customization of its R/3 system. ABAP/4 comes loaded with many predefined logical databases that can construct and table just about any conventional business objects you might need in any canned SAP application. However, you can also create your own logical databases to construct any custom objects you care to define, as your application requires in ABAP/4. Hereu2019s a step-by-step guide:
    1. Call up transaction SLDB (or transaction SE36). The path you want is Tools | ABAP Workbench | Development | Programming Environment | Logical Databases. This screen is called Logical Database Builder.
    2. Enter an appropriate name in the logical database name field. You have three options on this screen: Create, Display, and Change. Choose Create.
    3. Youu2019ll be prompted for a short text description of your new logical database. Enter one. Youu2019ll then be prompted to specify a development class.
    4. Now comes the fun part! You must specify a root node, or a parent table, as the basis of your logical database structure. You can now place subsequent tables under the root table as needed to assemble the data object you want. You can access this tree from this point forward, to add additional tables, by selecting that root node and following the path Edit | Node | Create. Once youu2019ve saved the structure you define in this step, the system will generate the programming necessary to access your logical database. The best part is you donu2019t have to write a single line of code.
    Watch out!
The use of very large tables will degrade the performance of a logical database, so be aware of that trade-off. Remember that some tables in SAP are very complex, so they will be problematic in any user-defined logical database.
    Declaring a logical database
Hereu2019s another surprising feature of logical databases: You do not assign them in your ABAP/4 Code. Instead, the system requires that you specify logical databases as attributes. So when you are creating a report, have your logical database identifier (the name you gave it) on hand when you are defining its attributes on the Program Attributes screen. The Attributes section of the screen (the lower half) will include a Logical database field, where you can declare your logical database.
    Logical databases for increasing efficiency
Why else would you want to create a logical database? Consider that the logical databases already available to you begin with a root node and proceed downward from there. If the data object you wish to construct consists of items that are all below the root node, you can use an existing logical database program to extract the data, then trim away what you donu2019t want using SELECT statementsu2014or you can increase the speed of the logical database program considerably by redefining the logical database for your object and starting with a table down in the chain. Either way, youu2019ll eliminate a great deal of overhead.
    Reward if useful.
    Thankyou,
    Regards.
