File JDBC & Strange Meta-Data

Hello,
I just had a new problem:-(
I hope anybody can help me...
I want to Insert a File via Jython and JDBC..
But imple SQL does not work without some strage MetaDate... like..
Select * from DDAA
/*$$SNPS_START_KEYSNP$CRDWG_TABLESNP$CRTABLE_NAME=DDAASNP$CRLOAD_FILE=...........
how i can generate this meta-Data with odi? i could not find any odiRef-Function to do this.....
and than there is a simular stange problem...
even when i INSERT to this JDBC-Connection a string and the string contains a comma I get an Error...
thanks for any help....
greetings

Hello,
i use the "com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.file.FileDriver" JDBC-Driver for an File-Datastore.
Now i want to INSERT and SELECT same data via Jython with direct SQL-Statements.
BUT:
A normal SQL-Statement does not work.
I have to appende strange Code like...
Select * from DDAA
/*$$SNPS_START_KEYSNP$CRDWG_TABLESNP$CRTABLE_NAME=DDAASNP$CRLOAD_FILE=...........
The JDBC-Driver seams to read the Filename and seperator... from this generated code....
I have copied this code from the Operator, by using normal SQL-Technologie...
The API <%=snpRef.getTargetTable("METADATA_DESC")%> generates this "strage code"... BUT2: In Jython technologie of an IKM it occours the Error:
"Exception getTargetTable("METADATA_DESC") : Es ist keine Zieltabelle vorhanden"
He do not find the "TargetTable".. so hier cannot generate this code...
Just when i copie this strage code from the operator and normal SQL-Statements work, I have the problem that i gen an error, wenn I INSERT a comma!
But I have to INSERT a comma!
The Technologie schould be FROM FILE TO FILE.... for this Project i do not have an Database for Staging Areas...
You see my problem?
Thanks....

  • Why does Bridge CS6 destroy my SWF files after inputting Meta Data?

I save a swf file to my hard drive.  Then I open Bridge, select the swf file, and type some Meta Data into the panel on the right.  As soon as the data saves and the preview window refreshes, the preview renders completely white (Bridge can no longer preview it).  If I open the file in Flash, some layers and text are now missing.
It seems that the act of writing meta-data to the swf file actually destroys portions of the file, and I have to go back to the original and re-export.
We have reproduced this problem on both Mac & PC, on swf files of varying compression & XMP settings.  It is fairly consistent.
Has anyone run into this and if so does anyone have any suggestions?

Not a expert on swf files, but this article says you can not use Bridge to add metadata to SWF files.  So maybe that is why you are running into problems.  http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/190/862442

  • File Rename in Meta Data back to 2.0 functionality

In the past I could edit the filename in the meta data panel, now when I click I get the rename dialog.
Is there a way to support both? i.e. click the edit box and you have free format, click the icon next to the edit box and you get the dialog.

Renaming of individual images ought to work the same way as renaming a folder in Lightroom.
To rename a folder, right-click on the folder name in the folder panel. A box pops up already populated with the existing name. Now just click in the box and edit the name any way you want.
However, if you right click on an IMAGE, there is no "rename" option. You can press F2 instead, but then you get the renaming dialog box populated with the name of the PREVIOUS file you edited, not the name of the current image.
Sure, you can edit the name in the Metadata panel, but I often don't have the panel open or I have it set to show "Large Caption" instead of the filename.
It sure seems more intuitive to me to just right-click on the image. Adobe, please add this feature.

  • Script to enumerate, and interactively modify File Properties (eg. meta-data)

    Hey Script Guys:
I am analyzing SharePoint capabilities for a customer and there are some things that they need that is not there, but so far it seems it is but can't be seen.
    First two things are:
'Stored Procedures' - That is a way from within a rule or workflow to interact with an interpretive host.  Right now I use REXX, which has the INTERPRET function.  I can write a script into a text element, send it there, and get the results.  Handy,
but rough.  This is especially handy in validation situations, or re-mapping of data.
A way for metadata to be plugged into a file easily without using the Properties dialog (like read it from document fields, etc) so the Content Routing can be cleaned-up to be more fully automated.
Bear in mind I grew-up on Motorola Assembler, BAL and MASM to develop  ASIC's, process controllers, operating systems and compilers, so alot of this shell programming is still a little weird.  Be nice
    JgEarl (FOG) sends...

File properties in WIndows are not part of the file. Some are part of the directory entry like the LastWriteTime and ReadOnly flag.
In Windows Explorer file properties like the internal properties of an MSWord document or an Adobe PDF file can be exposed if the vendor provides a support DLL that Explorer can use to expose these. They are not normally available to any program directly.
They are only available via the "Shell" (Explorer) or via the application that manages the document.
In SharePoint the "library" or other container manages a set or properties defined by SharePoint.  For MS documents we may be able to use "shell" methods to tattoo the SharePoint library with this information.
None of this has much of anything to do with scripting.  It is e3xternal to the scripting system and can be accessed by the product specific support DLL such as the dll installed by MSWord and Adobe.
To access these things through the shell in script we must instantiate the "Shell" object.  In SharePoint we can do this prior to loading the document or we can load documetns that Sharepointas nan installed DLL for.
At this time I am not sure as to how SP does this.  I recommend posting in the SharePoint developer forum for information on how to access and build these extensions DLLs.  I believe you can also look it up in the SharePoint SDK.
Outside of serverside code or using a custom library I do not see how you can do this.
You can, of course, always generate a file of name/value pairs describing your files.  You can also add almost anything to the SharePoint library structure or create custom types to display your custom metadata.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Can Meta data be exported to a text file

Hello, Is there a way in Bridge (CS4) to export meta data from a group of photos (>100) to a text file? I want to track meta data from all my photos using a database program. I do not need the actual photos in the file, just the meta data so I can search it. Any input would be appreciated. thanks, Skip

  • Used Relocate Masters to new g-drive. Lost Aperature Library and meta data

    how i crashed aperature
    1.56 aperature
    all updates current
    tiger 10.4.11
    all updates current
Goal was to move Aperature Library from MBP to g-drive.
    what i did:
    1. "Relocate Master" to g-drive. Success. Aperature still viewed all Files with all Meta Data normally.
    2. Collapsed "Library" in Projects Panel. Did not delete Projects. Did not delete any Photos.
    3. Preferences > Image Management > set new Aperature Library on g-drive.
    4. Uploaded new photos from a Canon and viewed them successfully.
    5. Ejected g-drive correctly.
what Aperature is not doing now:
    1. no Projects show up.
    2. no Referenced Photos show up.
    3. no Vaults show up. Note: the Vault was originally on MBP, but I foolishly did not set one up on g-drive before moving. I also have a back up Vault on a different g-drive that is, unfortunately, not up to date with all current photos before move.
    4. Aperature Library on g-drive is there but can not open any files in it. [note: item 3 above]
    5. Image files listed in g-drive but won't open in Aperature but do open in Preview or Gimp, etc.
    6. Aperature does not show any Vaults nor does it access Referenced Files.
    *Can you help ?*
*I guess these would be the questions:*
    1. How can I get the pics from the g-drive back into an Aperature Library with all the previous Meta Data attached to each Version?
    2. How do I get the Aperature Library - I put on the g-drive - to open in Aperature?
    3. If #1 is impossible - I guess I set up a Vault on the g-drive and move what I have from the back up Vault mentioned above.
    *Thanks for any advice !!!*

If I an not mistaken, I may have read through your pdf's quite a while ago. I am still trying to digest them and then apply them to my needs. If I had known that small projects may be faster and easier to manage than larger ones I would have done my imports quite differently. I chose to use Aperture in the first place to organize and add information to photos. I archive old photos. In particularly from 350th Fighter Group, WWII in the Mediterranean. So one "Project" of mine is =/-5000 images in the form of TIFF scans. I imported all of these into 1 project. Then I started applying metadata and keywwords like crazy. This allowed me to start to sort the photos into categories and find multiple version of the same image. I started making stacks of all the multiples. Then with smart albums and smart web sites I was able to create what might now be smaller projects. Since I gather information from others by sharing these photos on a website, You are able to see the smart websites here.
    http://web.me.com/vizcarraguitars/350thFighter_Group_Blog/350th_FG_Blog/350th_FGBlog.html
One cool thing is that various images reside in multiple smart webs based on common keyword. But now that I have all this organization, it seems it is time to put all my originals in a similar order via Aperture.
By the way, my files are reference files unless I make the mistake of importing them without leaving them in there original location.
I am thinking of starting over with blue folders. But I can't seem to get my head around it.

  • Quotes around meta data

Whenever I create a PDF document from within Microsoft Word with the Acrobat toolbar adobe adds in quote marks around my keywords.  My tags/keywords in Microsoft do not have any quote marks and all are separated by commas.  How do I fix this?  I do not want adobe adding in quote marks automatically.
I have Adobe Acrobat Standard XI and am using Microsoft Word 2013.  The problem also exists with Acrobat Standard X and Microsoft Word 2010.?
Can adobe please advise on how to fix this problem?
    Thank you.

In Microsoft Word there are document properties.  One of them is called "tags".  When in Microsoft Word when I go to the adobe ribbon and click on the command "Create PDF" it converts the Microsoft Word Document into an Adobe PDF file.  It also imports/brings over the document properties.  "Tags" is brought over into the adobe PDF file in the meta data as "Keywords".
For example, if I have the following information in the "Tags" property in Microsoft Word: car, truck, vehicle, SUV
Now when it gets converted adobe brings it over into the metadata field of keywords but displays it as: "car, truck, vehicle, SUV"
Adobe adds into the quotes.  Does not matter if I use semi colons instead.  It has something to do with how adobe interprets the information from the Microsoft Word document.  The metadata I am talking about for Adobe exists in the PDF file under "Document Properties", then in the description tab it mentions the fields of: Title: Author: Subject: Keywords: and there is a button also yet for Additional Metadata.

    Hi,
Yes, you need store data to table, and fetch it when page is opened.
Simple way is create table with few columns and e.g. with CLOB column and then create form based on that table.
Then modify item types as you like, e.g. use HTML editor for CLOB column

  • Should the web page address be included in the file name in the meta data dialog box?

In the page properties > meta data > below is a field with the label file name: (the the area to type in the field), after the field, it is labeled .html.
    I have 2 questions here.
    1. If I type in http//:www (my page url), do I include .html at the end? I didn't know if this is automatically added because it is off to the side of the field?
    2. If I type in the entire URL address: http//:www (etc, etc).html,    after closing the page properties dialog box, I make it a habit to double check my work. What happens is the http//:www.xxx changes to (htttpwww.xxx). It drops the //: on the URL.
So would it be better to just type in www.xxx (without the http//:www.xxx)
and do you type in the .html at the end?
I am assuming this will help with SEO page ranking or at least makes it easier for the search engines to crawl your site??
    I hope this makes sense.
    Advise would be very helpful.
    Ben

You are absolutely correct with the URL Ben. Taking your above example, you just need to type in "Services" in the file name and the webpage will be exported as services.html and the URl will be  www.xyz.com/services.html.
All the webpages (be it parent page or child page) gets physically saved at the root directory of your website on the server (where your website resides).
This name is just the name of the file using which it is physically stored and called from the server. It does not help search Engines to crawl deeper inside the website.
As I explained, "name which you wants the .html file to be stored with" here means the name of the physical file which is getting saved on the server.
Most users leave the file name same as Page name. If you have it different from page name then this will be the workflow :
    Page Name : About
    File Name : test
    domain : www.mysite.com
Now if you are  using a Menu Widget, it will list "About" in the Menu. And when end user will click on "About" then it will call the file named "test.html" from the server location (where all the files of your website are stored).
And it will open a page with address "www.mysite.com/test.html"
Hope I am able to explain the concept of File Name here. Please let us know if you have further queries on this.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • Problem with file meta data in Toast

From a reply to my previous question, I learned that meta data in the file information window cannot be edited. Actually, I really want to get rid of this meta data (not just hide it), because in some cases it disturbs certain operations.
Assume the following situation: I have a file named "my song.aif", which I want to burn on CD using Toast. So I open Toast and shift the file with a mouse action into the Toast window. I expect the title of the track to be "my song", but the name of the track unexpectedly changes to say "Title 2". Checking the file information window of "my song.aif" I see that the extra information contains "Title: Title 2" (which possibly was added by itunes). Files without meta data like this retain their names in the above operation.
Since I would like to avoid editing the titles in the Toast window, I would appreciate hints on the problem.

You can't directly edit the metadata, but the application that created it obviously can, so it depends on the particular application. In this case, editing the song information in iTunes changes the metadata. Usually the song title is the same as the song name, but Toast might be looking at something like the ID3 tags. The ID3 tags are stored in the .mp3 file itself and not the metadata database - I am not sure what iTunes does with the ID3 tags (or what Toast is looking for), but you might try converting the tags.

  • Missing Meta data in Gallery JSON file

I have bought a GEOtagger device and I am using GPS2Aperture to get the meta data into my Aperture library. But when you export the pictures to a Web Gallery Album the meta data is not exported. I found out it is not MobileMe too blame. When you look at the JSON file that is created by the Aperture export function you will see that the meta data is missing! The JSON file is located at: iDisk (iDisk > Web > Sites > _gallery > yourgalleryname), you'll see a list of folders each containing the photos in that particular gallery. And within each folder, there's a file called exif.json, which is a type of JavaScript that holds the EXIF information.
I looked on the Internet to see if other users have this problem but it seems I am the only one This automatically raises the question: Is it just me or is noby using GeoTags?
    Anybody else has this problem?
    Message was edited by: kwarts

I am having the same problem whereby Aperture sometimes exports the EXIF information and sometimes it doesn't. The photos are geotagged, and Aperture shows this information. But, sometimes it appears with the info command in a Gallery and sometimes not.
I've got to check more closely, but it did appear in a gallery for which I allowed downloading. But, it did not appear in a gallery for which I did not allow downloading. I'm not sure, yet, if this is what does it.

  • How do I add my name to the camera data file in meta data?

When reviewing the meta data on my photos I see the camera model number, serial number, focal length, etc.  The camera owner field is blank.  How do I add my name to the camera owner field?
I'm using Photoshop CC, on a windows 8.1 Pro platform.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Caitlin

I did add all the info on the menu section you mentioned above.  Unfortunately it does not show up as "Owner" when you view the data file in Photoshop CC for some reason. Copyright info shows properly, but not camera owner.  It's not a big problem anyway, just a pride of ownership thingy .  I downloaded the GeoSetter program, and after reviewing the meta data contained there I don't see an option for "owner" there either.  Perhaps its something that Adobe plans to implement someday, who knows. Thanks for your suggestions everyone.
This is my first DSLR, all I have shot in the past have been film cameras and we didn't have any of this fancy info available unless we wrote it down somewhere, smile.  I was still using my old Nikomat that I purchased in 1972 when I was stationed in Japan. I was a bit stubborn when it came to switching to DSLR sorry I waited so long now.
Oh, Trevor, sorry to learn you may be using something other than Nikon, I didn't know there was another brand other than Nikon!

  • No image preview in Bridge and unable to write meta data files

I recently converted my CR2 files to DNG files using the DNG converter. For the most part it worked. However, for some files, something went wrong. When I looked at a folder of newly converted dng files using Bridge, I noticed that some files didn't have a preview. These same files won't allow meta data to be written either. Are these files corrupt? What is wrong and how do I fix it? I tried to open these files in CR and they do open. Wierd thing is that if I open the file in CR, then click save file as dng, it will then show a preview in Bridge.

Yes. The original RAW file (CR2) allows me to write metadata. In fact, if I write the metadata to the CR2 file first, then convert to DNG, all the metadata is there - even for the files that at first do not have a preview in Bridge.
But the reason I'm converting to DNG is because I want my original archive files to be in a non-propriatory format.
Even though I can get around the current issues of no preview and writing metadata, my main concern is whether or not there is a problem with the conversion. I don't want to find out later that the file is corrupt. I'm worried that the issues with previewing and writing metadata are symptoms of some bigger problem.
    Any ideas?

  • Meta Data in m4v files...

    Hi Everyone,
I know this is one everyone asks but I can't find a bit of software that will do the job.
I want to imbed meta data into my m4v files for the AppleTV 2. I've been using MetaX, and looked into MetaZ.
MetaX works, but I would like to add the HD logo (and even the SD logo)
MetaZ only works with mp4 files...
    I've also tried:
    iFlicks
    SimpleMovieX
    WDFlow
None of these seem to work.
I don't mind paying if its the right tool for the job.
    Thanks everyone.
    Larry

Yes Subler http://code.google.com/p/subler/ does support adding the HD tag.
On the Mac I wouldn't use anything but Subler for tagging, best UI, best metadata lookup, best underlying libraries for mp4 files (I'm biased on the libraries part).
    Cheers Ed.
