File name in msdb.dbo.backupset no longer matches the actual file name on the storage media. Error 3013 Restore Database is terminating abnormally.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and comment. Platform: Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition SP1 (X64) Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP1) - 10.50.2500.0 (X64) Jun 17 2011 00:54:03 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation
Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.1 <X64> (Build 7601: Service Pack 1)Problem Description: The file name recorded in the msdb.dbo.backupset (sans the extension) no longer matches the actual file name written to the backup media which is
in this case a NETAPP NAS storage share. Example:
Mohave_backup_2014_03_14_233001_1158878.bak      (from NETAPP NAS filer)
Mohave_backup_2014_03_16_233001_4167237             (from MSDB.dbo.backupset), as you can see, the last 7 digits (chars) of the file name are different, although the date and time are identical. The
file names had previously been matching perfectly. The first occurance of this problem occured on 03/13/2014 at 5:00 AM MST. The error generated by the job was:

Olaf:
Thanks for your reply. Sorry, my bad. I inadvertently copied wrong [name] form the msdb.dbo.backupset. On 3/13 and 3/14, the two file names did not match. In trying to select another example to show you this morning, I found that the names are now matching!
What I was doing was to create dynamic t-sql to retrieve the latest prod backup of the database, and then restore it with move to the development server. This is an ad-hoc job that the developers can run by themselves whenever they require a refresh. Unfortunately,
we only keep 3 days worth of backups for these databases, so the original disk file I was trying to use to restore no longer exists. Researching the original error, one of the error descriptions was that the restore could not find the file requested.
I thought this very strange since I get the file name directly from the backupset table. Further research did indeed show that the file names were different, but unfortunately, I failed to save the details of the file names. Anyway, in looking for a new example
to show you this morning, I have found that the file names are indeed matching exactly again. If this error pops up again, I will be sure to save all details and re-post.
Thanks, regards and best wishes to you and yours,

I am not able to use the ftp export in Muse. When I enter my host, name and password, I get a long interlude of rainbow wheel and finally the message that my ftp host cannot be found. I have verified the name and that it is port 21. I can export to html and use another ftp client to upload (to the same server) but this is tedious and making minor changes is painful. Have you encountered this and found a solution?

    Hi Susan,
In that case I will recommend that you consult a local technician/IT team and see if there is some network connectivity issue with your machine.

Just drag the small window to the top right below the toolbar, you'll see the area highlighted and when you drop it the file should dock.

  • How to display the actual code name on the table of the uix file?

I have established entity object:Schoolinfo, and a view object SchoolinfoView, and registered in the application module.and I drag and drop to a uix file the Datacontrol and it works well,i can see the schoolinfo table's contents. The problem is:in schoolinfo there is an attribute schooltype code, like 1,and referenced to another table:CodeDict in the database, and I want to display the actual code name when displaying the table on the uix file, like "middle school", not just the code 1.How can I do?

This is more of BC4J question.
The data that is displayed (View) is a SQL query. You should be able to change the SQL query represented by the view object appropriately to get the desired output. You can see more information on view objects from Jdev help to get more information on it.

  • How to get the actual font name from a font file?

    Hi
I have only the font Path I have to get the font name from that path. Any idea how to get the actual font name?
    Thanks,

I would ask you these questions:
Why do you need to do this?  What are you ultimately trying to accomplish?
Are you really asking about the InDesign SDK?
Do you really need to get the "name" of a font from an arbitrary file?  Or do you want information about a font installed on the system?  If so, what OS?
Do you need to be able to handle any font format?
Which font "name" do you mean?
What language do you want the name in?
    (1) It's not clear what you're trying to accomplish.  A bit more information about your ultimate goal would be helpful.
    (2) This question is not at all specific to the InDesign SDK.  Are you really trying to do something in the context of an InDesign plug-in?  If so, you probably want to look at IID_IFONTFAMILY and the IFontFamily::GetFamilyName function.
    (3) If you are asking more generally, Windows and Mac both have system API calls to get this information, although those tend to deal with installed system fonts, not with arbitrary font files per se.
Also, you can parse the name table from a True Type or Open Type font without using any system APIs; as True Type and Open Type are well-documented standards.  I would start by reading these:
    The Naming Table
    Font Names Table
    (4) Although there are other standards, such as Type 1 (PostScript) fonts, and True Type Collection files and other formats, especially on Mac.
    (5) Also, when you start down this road, you will quickly realize that your seemingly simple question is actually ambiguous, and that the answer is kind of complicated, because a font can have many names (a family name, a full font name, a style name, a PostScript name, etc.).
    (6) And not only does a font have multiple names, it can have each of those names in multiple languages and encodings.
Any clarification would make this a better question.

  • I want the actual file name of my song to be edited through itunes

    Hello to all,
I have spent a significant time of my life to keep my music folder very well organized. Then after a few years, I discovered itunes and I started to organizing and tagging my music files through itunes. Everything works well with no problems....
    Now, here is the thing.
I know that itunes works with mp3 tagging or something similar (not an expert). So, if I copy the songs of an itunes playlist to my friends (dropbox, usb drive etc) and they are not using itunes, then the file names of the songs included in the playlist is totally crap. If they open it in itunes or other similar software is pitch perfect. But most of them they go through: "open folder"/"read file name"/"play song". So they cannot even find the songs they want....
So, is there a magic way (i.e. not manual) that the actual file names of my songs will be edited by itunes according to my so lovely and beautiful (lol) itunes tag?
Any help would be more than welcomed and even celebrated as well!
    Cheers
    BG

iTunes reorganizes files stored inside the iTunes Media folder to reflect changes to tags if the advanced preference "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" is selected. If for some reason it has failed to do this turning the preference off, and then back on again normally resolves things, although iTunes won't make minor case corrections, e.g. The beatles to The Beatles. iTunes uses the structure <Artist>\<Album>\[D ]## <Name>.<Ext>
If the files are stored outside the media folder, or that preferences is turned off, then the file & folder names are left alone when you edit the tags. Consolidating the library will bring in copies in the standard format.
However, unless we are talking about songs you have personally composed and recorded, you have no right to give copies of your songs to your friends, they should buy their own copies (or you could buy them for them).

  • If I rename a clip in PPro, is there a command to change the actual file name like in FCP7?

In FCP7 I could rename a clip in FCP and then use a menu command to change the actual file name to match:
Can I do this in PPro or Prelude?

  • Changing song info in Itunes and the actual file names

How can I change the song info in iTunes and make it change the actual file names?
It gets a bit tiring after every single time iTunes updates I have to re-organize my 3000+ songs. I tried to do a quick search for an answer in the forums but I wasn't exactly sure what I should search for so sorry if this is a duplicate post.
Is this possible? (does this make sense?)
    Thanks!

I have the option checked and I made several changes to the ablums name and song names for several songs in my library. iTunes changed the files to the new folder names and renamed the files.
The only problem is that I have empty folders of the old album names.

  • How do you update file name changes made it iTunes to the actual file?

  • What is the actual file size for the iphone 4s update - 55.5 mb's or 832 mb's

Can someone tell me the actual file size of the new update for the iphone 4s On my iphone it is telling me it is 55.5 mbs but when I try to download the file thru i tunes it twlls me it is 830 odd mb's.
    Thanks, michael.

I suspect if you update wirelessly you are just downloading a "delta" updater whereas downloading through iTunes you are downloading the entire replacement firmware. Wirelessly updating does not take nearly as long for the download nor does it require completely erasing then restoring the device.

  • Where are the actual files/renaming those files?

Hi all, I'm a new Mac user at home, and I'm exploring how iPhoto works. Since 1999, I've kept my digital photos straight using a manual method of folders labeled "Year" and inside that "01, 02, etc" and inside that "01 PhotoName" for something that happened on the 1st day of the month (following me?) With iPhoto, I gather this is much easier to manage because iPhoto seems to do all of this for me.
I'm trying to understand how iPhoto is working. It seems that when I import a photo from my camera, it goes to a folder in "iphoto library"/originals/2007/album name/photoname (in my case, the file name is DSC02447). However, if I make any changes to that file within iPhoto (red eye, color, etc) it will create ANOTHER file in "iphoto library"/MODIFIED/2007/albumname/photoname. So, does that mean it's essentially duplicating my images?
Also related, how can I rename the actual FILE? When I'm within iPhoto's Photo view, I can rename the title of the image by clicking the name below it, and renaming it to something other than DSC02447. However, in the "photo info" window, you can see the actual filename has NOT changed.
If I would use iPhoto forever, that wouldn't be a big problem. However, I don't know what photo organizing program I'll be using in 10 years, but if it's not iPhoto, I don't want to be stuck with a whole lot of photos that I spent a bunch of time organizing and renaming within iPhoto, only to realize those changes were only within iPhoto.
So along with those two questions, does anyone have a website that explains the "inner workings" of iPhoto better than the Apple site? All I can find on here is "here's all the great things iPhoto does" but I can't really find deep tutorials on "this is actually what's happening to your files."
    Many, many thanks everyone.

    Carl

Duplicating? No, but it is preserving your original file - as a kind of digital negative. Essentially, all operations are carried out on a copy of the file, at any time you can go Photos -> revert to original. In this iPhoto is implementing the best practise of Digital Asset Management.
If you don't wan that feature, then bluntly, don't use iPhoto. It's hard wired into the application and cannot be turned off. There are various hacks that claim to remove unwanted versions but each of them put the integrity of your library at risk.
It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss

You can't. You can copy the files to the desktop and rename them before import (FileList is pretty good for this) or, if you export them using the File -> Export command you have the opportunity to use your Title as a filename on the exported version. (That's your future proofing, right there - you can also write you keywords to the file too.) But if you rename the files while they are in iPhoto, then you change the path to the files and that brings you to my warning above, about making changes in the iPhoto Library Folder.

  • Dissappearing Music (The actual files!)

    Hey guys n gals,
I'm running itunes 8.0.0.35 on Windows XP, and I've got a bit of a problem. Every time I open itunes, 2-3 random, whole albums have been removed from my harddrive. The information remains in the library, but with that evil little exclamation point of doom, signifying that no matter where on my computer I search, I will never see those files again. I'm trying to recover from two lost collections (a long series of hardware malfunctions (and by 'malfunction' I mean I left my macbook sitting on top of my car, dropped my ipod, then knocked over my external backup while it was still running...I'm maybe slightly accident-prone)), one of roughly 80gb, one of a little over 30, and it makes it pretty difficult to make any progress when my music disappears every day. So far, I've yet to come across anyone with the same bug. It seems most people lose library information without losing the actual files, instead of the opposite. Any help, or even just a little commiseration, would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks everyone!

How upsetting, iTunes really oughtn't do this are you certain that you do not have any other software on your PC that might be reorganising/renaming your files?
If the files have been renamed you might not be able to find them.
You don't have any plug-ins do you? there is a safe mode in iTunes now that loads it without plug ins.
Open iTunes in "safe mode" (without external plug-ins) Control-Shift (while opening iTunes)
The only other thing that I can think of is that somehow iTunes keeping the iTunes music folder organised is going wrong although I have never heard of it happening. (A checkbox in Edit>>Preferences>>Advanced)

  • LSMW update vendor account just if the actual (old) is in the txt file

I want to update the vendor account but just if it is the same I have in the txt file.
My txt file is the fllowing for example:
Vendor - Old Account - New Account
    A2
    A123
    A321
    A1
    A133
    B321
    A3
    A144
    C321
So, for each vendor if the actual bank account number is (old account in the file) replace the actual (old account) with the new account.
In the CODE text for LSMW (check my attach) I have this:
    IF FK02A-BANKN_01 = CTAS-BANKN. FK02A-BANKN_01 = CTAS-BANKNNUEVO. ENDIF.
    Where:
FK02A-BANKN_01 is the FK02 text for vendor account
CTAS-BANKN is in my file and structure defined the OLD ACCOUNT
CTAS-BANKNUEVO in my file and structure defined the NEW ACCOUNT (the one should be now)
But it is not replacing, if i check converted data, this field is empty. So the if is not working. Ideas?
    I changed it by
    FK02A-BANKN_01 = CTAS-BANKN
    or
    FK02A-BANKN_01 = CTAS-BANKNNUEVO
and it works, but put the old or the new code of course, not doing the comparation with the old and replacing with the new.

exact, similar to what I showed and described in my blog LSMW Long text load by Direct Input method
and you must not forget that the account in the database is stored with leading zeros in case of numeric account and less than 10 long, so there is another potential risk that it wont match without doing an extra conversion of your source field content.

How do I change No Name camera to the actual camera name when importiing pictures from my camera?

    (1) Connect your camera.
    (2) If necessary, quit apps until you can see your camera's "No Name" iCon on your desktop.
    (3) Click to highlight "No Name".  Then key in the name you want to substitute.
    (4) Press return to finish.
    (5) Use the Finder > File > Eject menu command to eject your camera before unplugging.
    (6) If you did it right, next time you connect your camera, the name you like will show.

  • I am trying to rebuild my iPhoto library and noticed my backup contains aliases (pointers?) and not the actual file. What's the best way to rebuild my library?

I am trying to rebuild my iPhoto library and noticed my backup contains aliases (pointers?) and not the actual file. What's the best way to rebuild my library?
    Facts:
In moving to a new iMac, I copied the iPhoto library to an external HDD assuming that I would point the new iMac to the backed up iPhoto Library
All worked fine when I pointed the new library but noticed that some folders contained aliases and not the original file. So when I attempt to open that photo it can't find it because the alias is pointing to another drive.
I do have all original photos from a couple of external HDDs. In the folders titled, "Originals" (from older versions of iPhoto) and "Masters" (from current iPhoto)
I'm thinking I can create a new folder and drop the original files and make that my new iPhoto library. Is there a better way to rebuild my library? I do not want to create any future aliases.
Thanks in advance for any help!

do you have a strongly recommended default "managed" library (the iPhoto preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library is in its checked state) or a referenced library - you have unchecked that option?
It sounds like you have a referenced library and are now experiancing one of the very siginificant drawbacks of a referenced library and one of the many reasons they are strongly not recommended
Also note that iPhoto '11 may use alises in the originals folder as part of the upgrade
It is important that we understand exactly what you have and what is not sorking - what error messages you are getting
You must NEVER make any changes of any sort to the structure of content of the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it  --  and you can not rebuild yoru librtary - only iPhoto ir iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  can rebuild a library unless you are a SQL programmer and understand the structure that iPhoto uses
