File not picked up strange problem

Hi all,
I am doing File to file tranfer .
my source dir is AL11 and i am ftp the file to reciver system .
I am encountering strange problem .
Some times my file adapter pick the file  and tranfer the files sucessfull  and sometimes  it does not pick the file . i trying to pick same files always  i.e *.txt
in RWB cc it show no error . it gives message  polling sucess but no message id in it .
i tried to deacitve and active the adapter , but it is of no use .
if anyone  faced this type of problem please reply
Thanks

Hi,
Some times file adapter will not pick the file it will be strange u cant find any error regarding it..........i thnik u have proper authorization for AL11 because file adapter is picking the file...
check the processing parameters what is the mode of trasfer is it test or delete.....
better to have NFS at both the ends or take NFS at sender side...

Phani

  • File not picking up in FTP server

    Hi SAP-XI experts,
    2 different files are send to same FTP server but one file was picked but other was not picking.
    Error that came while monitoring CC is as below:
    "Conversion of file content to XML failed at position 0: java.lang.Exception: ERROR converting document line no. 1 according to structure 'row':java.lang.Exception: ERROR in configuration / structure 'row.': More elements in file csv structure than field names specified!".
    Seeing the error we cross check the content of file present at FTP server. But everything was fine,it contain same no.of fields present in Content conversion and even same length.
    Solution: I added a extra row in Content conversion "row.additionalLastFields   ignore".After that i stop and restart the Communication channel it start picking the file but the Communication channel is still in red.
    Can u please tell me ASAP the reason why the file was not picked first and then after adding extra row it started picking.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vijji

    Hi,
       it is related to some problem with the data only...because i too faced the same issue...i was also not able to see the new line when i try to open the same in notepad++ ... may be some other paramters or data of excel/CSV which is avoiding to display the same..in notepad++
    also try one more thing...enable the new line characters and see if there is any difference...between the processes and failed files...

  • File to Idoc - File not picked up

    Hi experts,
                   In the file to idoc scenario when i post a file in the file server it is not picked up by the file adapter. But in the communication channel monotoring it reports <b>'Process finished sucessfully'</b>.
    Help me out in this issue.
    Regards
    Santhosh Kumar V

    HI Santhosh
    if you are using NW latest version.check in Communication channel monitoring
    otherwise in Adapter monitoring.
    Check u r Sender Communication channel working or not... in RWB->Component monitoring->Communication channel monitoring..
    in which color it is displaying u r Sender Communication channel?? If it is in RED color then u r sender cc is error one.
    Check the following:
    1. Name of the input file and the filename in communication channel should match.
    2. The communcation channel is activated
    3. The folder path is correct.
    4. The Processing mode is "Delete"
    5. XI server is up when u try the scenario
    6. The adapter has status green in RWB Adapter Monitoring
    7. Sender Agreement is properly configured
    As explained above
    See ,,
    --Check the FTP server details
    --Check the User.pwd and authorisations -- to read file,
    --Check the File name sapecified in sender CC, and check the file i spicked by CC or not in RWB channelmonitorservlet

  • FIle not picked up by File Adapter

    Dear all,
    File adapeter is not picking the files from the source directory by the PI system.
    We could see that the files are available in the source system, kindly suggest me in this regard.
    Thanks for the support.
    Best Regards,
    Piyush

    apart from the above options you can try some of the below:
    1. STOP and RESTART the channel. since some time the file chanel becomes isolated and the handshaking doesn't happen properly.
    2. you should always give a "time out" in the sender channel.
    3. check the folder RIGHTS, you can try making it 777 (full READ,WRITE and EXECUTE) for the time being. Later you can customize
        your rights as per the requirement.

  • Attachment file not picked - File to Mail scenario

    Hi,
    I'm just trying out the file to mail scenario as suggested in blog:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1685 [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    I created a xml file as the main mail content(main.xml). And I also have an attachment file(txt) placed at the same location. The file adapter picks the mail.xml, but not the attachment txt file. I can see the mail in my inbox, with the mail.xml added as an attachment..
    I have added the "additional files" in the File adapter configuration. Also in mail adapter configuration, I have checked "Keep attachments"
    Are there any other configurations I'm missing out???
    When I check in XI ABAP engine, sxmb_moni, I see the following error:
    <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="">
      <SAP:Category>Application</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="MAPPING">EXCEPTION_DURING_EXECUTE</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1>com/sap/xi/tf/_Mail_MM_</SAP:P1>
      <SAP:P2>java.lang.NullPointerException</SAP:P2>
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText />
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack>java.lang.NullPointerException thrown during application mapping com/sap/xi/tf/_Mail_MM_:</SAP:Stack>
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>

    Hi,
    Thanks for the quick response...
    Prateek,
    the mapping is fine in IR.
    Sanjeev,
    Making the optional parameter created a failure in the communication channel.
    the error the file sender returns in XI runtime workbench is
    "Error: java.lang.Exception: Add attachment: Mandatory additional payload file 'main.txt' not found!" though my attachment name is  "Attachment.txt" . I renamed the attachment file to "main.txt", and made necessary changes in Additional file configurations too...
    I have the attachment in the same location as the main content xml file. Should I specify somewhere the location of my attachment file too?
    Gabriel,
    Very useful link. but I dont see the failure in sxmb_moni now, may be because the failure occurs at the Communication Channel level itself????

  • Why the file not picked by PI

    Hi mates:
           I tried to implement a XML-to-XML senario by XI, it is like picking the file from one folder to another .  and I have created and configurated everything for senario in ID and IR. and activated everything. but the file won't be picked up by XI,
          I used two computers for the senario, one for Xi, one for the business system.
          Could you please tell me why the file can't be picked up by XI. do I have to installed any FTP server
    on the business system?
          Thank you very much!

    Hi Jingying,
                  There is some reasons are happended for the file is not picking.
    1) If use FTP , Check your FTP Connection working or not
    2)If not pick the file to XI , Check data from source end, if it wrong its shows the error in RWB->Communication Channel Monitoring--> File adapter..
    3)Check the sender Communication channel configured properly or not.

  • BPAV files not picked up by XDCAM transfer

    Okay this is a strange one - I shall describe the steps as they happened. Hopefully somebody can help me.
    - Edited a vid sequence in FCP.
    - Tried to import more footage from XDCAM Transfer into FCP but got hard disk full notice.
    - I moved the source files on to an external hard disk.
    - I went to try and reconnect the edited sequence to the source files (all the clip icons in FCP had a red strike through them)
    - Final cut crashed on me.
    - I wasn't too annoyed because I planned on starting the sequence from scratch anyway, so dropped the idea of reconnecting. Then took time to take all the source BPAV files and put them in one folder thinking when I re-import all I need to do in point XDCAM Transfer at that one file and then hit 'Add' source. (the footage had all be shot at different times so had been pulled of the SXS cards disparately and was in stupidly named files.)
    - Problem is here. XDCAM Transfer won't do it. You select the new main file on the external disk and then click add and a loading progress bar drops down the springs back up and that's it.
    - So not only does my first sequence not work, but I can't start a new one because I can't import the original vid files.
    Any help would be most welcome!
    Notes:
    Camera EX1
    FCP

    That folder idea worked
    Good news
    One of the folders still does the boucing progress bar thing
    Boo ... have you checked to see that you have correctly renamed that folder BPAV (not BPVA or BPAV and a space or other slightly wrong variation)?

  • File not refreshing and error problem

    well i have 2 problems..
    first:
    i dont know why a jsp file does not reload to the edited version
    meaning lets say I have a jsp file doing something it loads up fine and does I edit the file and try reloading the old copy keeps on coming back..
    there are times when the new copy loads up but that is rare..
    second can anyone tell me what is wrong with this code.. I cant figure out what is wrong with it.. only in the <form></form> tags
    because rest of the code is fine
    i keep on getting nullpointerexception i dont understand why

    it works fine the way it is suppose to

    In case you are running Tomcat 4.1 the java file and class file of your jsp is located in Tomcat 4.1/work/standalone/.. and your file should be named something like MyJspPage_jsp.java (try search for it).
    About your nullpointer, you should check your spelling when requesting parameters,
    request.getParameter("action") is not the same as request.getParameter("Action") etc.
    Good luck.

  • Ipod (click 40g) recognized by windows, but not by itunes strange problem

    Hey,
    Since about two weeks my ipod is not recognized by itunes.
    I suspect it started when i unplugged the ipod (accidentely) when the 'do not disconnect' sign was still on.
    Since then every time i plug in my ipod, it is recognized by windows as plugged in hardware. When opening windows explorer, i can see my ipod, but clicking on it, to view its contents causes the explorer to jam. Itunes also does not recognize the ipod at all. IpodUpdater tends to be a little bit unpredictable about whether it will recognize the ipod.
    i tried al the five R's. Resetting, reinstalling itunes and my ipod, retrying on a different computer, restarting, restoring.
    My ipod itself seems to work fine. it sometimes jammed during a song, which never occured before. but now, since i restored my ipod, i don't have any music any more, so i can't test it.
    When trying my ipod on a different computer, i managed to get it recognized on itunes once. but when i tried to copy music, the connection failed and itunes froze.
    the sound my ipod makes is also a bit strange. when
    i open ipodupdater, and the updater tries to connect to the ipod, the ipod seems to start up with a zooming (normal) sound, but then, after a second you hear a little ipod-cracklingsound, and it starts all over.
    is there any suggestion at all about what i can do to try to
    fix this myself
    greetings
    river

    I have a very similar problem except that I have tried all the remedial steps but the last. I cannot get the ipod updater to recognise the ipod at all, A reset simply resets and the do not disconnect message comes back after a few seconds. Again, My Computer can see the ipod as a hard drive but it cannotb access it and this causes My Computer to stop responding. Grateful for any help.

  • Samba: No Such File or Directory ? Strange Problem..

    Hello,
    I'm using Arch Linux for a while and liked it so much.. I was using Debian GNU/Linux before this distro.. Any way; I have a /pub directory which is a partition on my hd.. It's always mounted to the system and I'm always using it..
    I've configured Samba to share my music let's say.. Here's my conf file:
    [01:54] (tunix@penguix ~)$ cat /etc/samba/smb.conf
    # penguix Samba Configuration File
    [global]
      workgroup = WORKGROUP
      netbios name = TUNIX
      server string = Arch Linux
      security = share
      socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
      hide unreadable = yes
      hide dot files = yes
      log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
      max log size = 5
      log level = 0
      encrypt passwords = yes
      guest account = nobody
    [Muzik]
      comment = Muzik
      path = /pub/Muzik
      guest ok = yes
      force user = nobody
      read only = yes
      writable = no
      browsable = yes
    I can see other computers on the network.. Other computers can see my computer and access on it.. But whenever they want to access to the directory Muzik, it says there's no such file or directory.. But the directory exists:
    [01:54] (tunix@penguix ~)$ ls -l /pub/Muzik/
    toplam 128
    drwxr-xr-x  32 tunix users 65536 2006-05-08 01:42 Yabanci
    drwxr-xr-x  30 tunix users 65536 2006-05-23 01:05 Yerli
    I've looked in the log files and it says something like these:
    [2006/05/11 03:03:56, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(846)
      10.0.0.212 (10.0.0.212) couldn't find service muzIk

    Any body have an idea here what this problem is about ?
    Thanks a lot..!

    Actually the problem is with the nobody account I guess... This is my new smb.conf file:
    [global]
            netbios name = TUNIX
            workgroup = WORKGROUP
            server string = Arch Linux
            hosts allow = 10.0.
            security = share
            encrypt passwords = no
            socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
            hide unreadable = yes
            hide dot files = yes
            guest account = nobody
    [Muzik]
            comment = muzik
            path = /pub/Muzik
            guest ok = yes
            read only = yes
            browseable = yes
    [emule]
            path = /emule/
            guest ok = yes
            browseable = yes
            read only = yes
    emule works fine but when somebody tries to enter Muzik directory there's the problem.. The difference between them is, emule is on an ext3 partition and Muzik on a fat32 partition...
    I'm trying different things almost 3 hours and found nothing.. I've done lots of Google research and again found nothing useable.. Please help me, I'm really stuck here...

  • Import from Excel file not picking up WBS

    I believe I understand the mechanics of exporting activities to create a template to use for adding new activities to an existing project via a subsequent import. And it seems to work, i.e. I end up with new activities in my existing project. BUT.... I can't seem to direct which WBS they add to. It just adds them under the top level project WBS rather than the lower level WBS I specify. I initially tried just having the WBS code in the import, but then added the name and path. But no help. Do you know whether I can direct the new activities to have the WBS I want and if so how?
    Thanks
    S

    Yes, it's work. Ussually I exported from P6 the current data with include WBS ID in the collumn.
    Then add new Activity ID and others required information incliding WBS ID, and import again to P6.

  • Modifications to a jsp file not getting loaded after it has been served out once

    Hi,
    I am using Weblogic 6.1 on solaris platform.
    I have created a new managed server under the default domain. A new
    default web application was created with a DefaultWebApp directory which
    acts as the default directory for JSP files for this server.
    problem 1:
    In this new server if i make changes to a jsp file which has been served out
    once, the modifications are not reflected until and unless i restart the
    server.
    problem 2:
    If I start the server and after that I add a JSP file to the DefaultWebApp
    directory, if I try to access it it gives a 404 error which is file not
    found.
    These problems do not occur in the original server which got created when i
    did the installation.
    Can someone help me out please.
    Pankaj

    Hi.
    On reflection I believe this is normal behavior for WLS 6.x. In order to see
    changes to jsps (or other elements in the webapp) you need to either
    undeploy/redeploy the webapp via the console or the command line utility, or you
    can use the refresh utility if your webapp is deployed in the exploded directory
    format (ie not a war file).
    For docs on redeploying and refreshing from the command line see:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/webapp/deployment.html

    Michael

    Hi.
    Are you running with service pack 2? If not please try this. If youstill see
    this with sp2 then please open a case with support.
    Thanks,
    Michael

  • Strange Problem.. File to Idoc... RCVPOR is missing in control Records.

    Hi All,
    File to Idoc:
    Sender :
    Party : PT_ABC
    Business Service : BS_ABC
    Note : I provided the LS name(PARTABC) for BS_ABC Under Adapter Specific identifiers.
    Receiver :
    Business system (Without party) : BS_DEV_R/3
    In the IDOC receiver communication channel, I enabled the options
    -Apply COntrol records from Payload
    -Take sender from Payload
    -Take Receiver from Payload.
    Note : When i won't enable the above three options in IDoc RCV channel... Message is not processing and showing error as "Unable to convert the sender service BS_ABC to an ALE logical system..!"..
    File is picked and message processed and when i checked in SXMB_MONI,Idoc control records are showing clearly like below.
    - <EDI_DC40 SEGMENT="1">
      <TABNAM>EDI_DC40</TABNAM>
      <DIRECT>2</DIRECT>
      <IDOCTYP>ORDERS05</IDOCTYP>
      <CIMTYP>ORDERS05</CIMTYP>
      <MESTYP>ORDERS</MESTYP>
      <STDMES />
      <SNDPOR>SAPDPI</SNDPOR>
      <SNDPRT>LS</SNDPRT>
      <SNDPRN>PARTABC</SNDPRN>
      <RCVPOR>SAPDL1</RCVPOR>
      <RCVPRT>LS</RCVPRT>
      <RCVPRN>DEVSAP</RCVPRN>
      </EDI_DC40>
    But the Idoc is reached to R/3 with status '56' .And in the control records.. the receiver port (SAPDPI) is missing.
    I dunno what happened.When i cross checked, the remaining interfaces are working perfectly.
    Any idea whats going wrong?
    Regards
    Deepthi.

    As a matter of fact it is not strange at all:)
    It means you need to check the partner profile in the receiving r/3 system. This type of problem occurs because you need to define the partner profile PARTABC to the IDOC ORDERS05. If this association is missing you would always see the RCVPOR missing in the destination system.
    Also you have mentioned that "Note : When i won't enable the above three options in IDoc RCV channel... Message is not processing and showing error as "Unable to convert the sender service BS_ABC to an ALE logical system..!"..
    This is because for the BS_ABC sender service you must have a logical system associated; you can check the same by looking at the adapter specific identifiers. In your case I believe it is empty so the system can't find the logical system for it.
    Thanks
