File On OVI

i have uninstalled file on ovi from mobile. where to download it again?

Here is my problem! Any singles or albums I download, don't download correctly. Look at the first two attachments where they are highlighted in red.
Look at the last attachment. When the files are downloaded they are supposed to go into the relevant folder but instead they are all clogged up in one directory and when you play the track it fails and album art, ID tags are missing.
Ovi Music = Fail
Customer Service = Fail
I will be posting my problems on my blog along with each email and the response I got and will upload all these attachments!

  • E71 where can I find "Files on OVI" to download fo...

    Hello,
Does anybody know where I can find "Files on OVI" application for E71 mobile ? (so, not for PC)
I noticed that "Files on OVI" is already installed by default in other models like E75 for example but we have to install it in E75.
But, does "Files on OVI" for E71 exist ?
Thanks a lot in advance for any useful information !  :-)

    Hello ivanlm3000,
After you login to the Ovi Files mobile website (https://files.ovi.com) from an S60 v3 widget-capable device, you’ll see a link towards the bottom of the page that lets you download our “Remote Files Widget”. This widget provides a shortcut to the Ovi Files mobile website in your “Installations” (or similar) folder. I personally use it on my E71.
    Hope this helps,

  • Broken NBU file from OVI Suite

    dear all
i backed up my nokia N95 with nokia ovi suite , result is a file with NBU extension about 120 MB. after i cleared all data on my phone, ovi failed to read the file. i tested other program for openeing it, but all not answered, please help...

Which other programme you tried ? Did you try NBUExplorer ?
..and for Nokia Suite to display the data you need to SYNC them . Back-up data will not get displayed in the Nokia suite, but will get stored in the .nbu file. You can use the RESTORE function in the Nokia Suite after connecting the phone to PC and all the data will be restored in the phone ...
BTW, hope you are using the latest version of Nokia Suite

  • Ovi Suite does not recognise special MP3 files

My Ovi Suite does not import some of my MP3 files, even though they have proper ID3 tags (there are even albums where some files are recognised and others not, although I can see no difference in the "quality" of the tags). If I directly choose one of those to add, the program always states "0 files added".
I would like to get ALL of my MP3s (approx 2GB) into Ovi suite, not just 80%. Can anyone give me a hint why Ovi suite dislikes some of my files?
    Thanks!

  • Ovi messes around with my .jar files

Hmm, been unable to find info about this elsewhere.
When i install the Ovi suite (2.0.1.36) it decides that it is the best default program for my java .jar files which i use on my computer, not my phone.
Everytime i try to pick the appropriate program for my jar files, it either has errors or doesent show any gui.
Is there anyway to use the phone tethering without the ovi software or is there a fix to this?

Yes, this is completely ridiculous. Nokia PC Suite did the same, I expected newer software to stop messing around with something that is a de facto standard: .jar files are Java Archive files. OVI installation should NOT mess with the settings in registry for .jar files.
Run regedit, and look at the key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.JAR (note the dot befor JAR)
This is where OVI has messed with things... You will see that the value OVI has set on that key is Nokia Ovi SuiteApplicationInstaller_JAR
If you have a key on your system that is HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jarfile Change the setting on
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.JAR to jarfile.

  • OVI Suite file association

I've installed Ovi Suite on win 7 64 bit.
First of all, ovi doesn't start wehn I connect my N95 8GB. I didn't touch the default setting to it is set to start when a phone is detected.
Once I start OVI Suite manually it recognizes my N95 8GB  and everything seems to work fine.
However, when I try to run a .sis file, windows 7 doesn't associate this file with Ovi. when I try to set the file association manually, Ovi isn't an option amongs the available applications.
I've now installed PC Suite and it is now associated with .sis files.
I've then unistalled and reinstalled Ovi Suite, but it is still not the application associated with .sis and is still not available wehn tyring to set the association manually.
It still doesn't open when I connct the N95 8GB either.
    any idea?
    Thanks,

    Hi Zkrisher,
If you want to have OVi run automatically when you connect your mobile, you need to enable both the options under startup as marked in the attached screen-shot.
The first option will enable to run the OVi suite applcation during the PC startup.
The Second option will enable to bring the application to the front once a phone is connected, even if it is minimised to the notification area (Right handside bottom)
The Second option will not work if the application is not running already.
Also for running any .sis or .sisx files with OVi suite, you need to associate these files with OVi suite application.
This can be done in two ways.
    1) Right click on any .sis file and select open with option. In the pop-up window select Nokia Ovi Suite. (If you dont find it either under Recommended programs or other programs, you can browse the same from the installed location and select it).
Make sure the option " Always use the selected program.... " is selected ( Screen-shot attached)
    2) Start -> type Default Programs -> Associate a file type or protocal with a program. Locate .sis and .sisx files and assiciate both to Nokia OVi Suite if it is not associated to OVi suite
Hope this will solve your issue

  • Help! I can't properly sync my 5530 music files us...

I need help guys. I just bought a Nokia 5530 Xpress Music and tried out syncing my phone's files using Ovi Suite so I can easily retrieve them if ever they get deleted when I update my phone's firmware. When I synced my files, everything else worked fine except for the music files and these are the following problems I encountered:
Ovi Suite did not only copy my phone's music files to my pc, it also copied all the music files of my pc to my phone at the same time. This shouldn't happen right? Because I'm only trying to sync my phone's files to my computer, and not transfer files from my computer to my phone so it should only copy all the songs in my 5530 to Ovi Suite.
After synchronization, I noticed that Ovi Suite created a different folder in my phone's memory card to store all the music files instead of using the designated folder where I save all my phone's songs.
When I tried to play my songs using the music player of 5530, it didn't work. An error message appeared which said, "Unable to play selection. Operation cancelled." And all my music files appear to have a small yellow triangle icon with an exclamation point beside the title which I think signifies that all the songs with this icon can't be played using the Music Player of 5530.
*Note: When I accessed my songs through file manager, I had no problems. I was able to open and play them all.
All my songs have album arts but they don't appear in my phone when I open them. Whether I access them through File Manager or Music Player the problem is still the same, no album art appears.
Is there a way where I can assign a specific folder in my computer which the Ovi Suite should only access for the music files it should sync with my phone? I have a lot of songs in my pc but I don't want all of them to be copied to my phone so I have a separate folder where I keep the songs that I put in my mobile. How do I set Ovi Suite to just access this folder for music syncing?

I'm currently having the same problem and it's driving me mad! I bought an N 5530 last month and cannot get my songs to play through the device's media player - same message "Unable to play selected. Operation cancelled"
Originally I had just copied my songs to the memory card via a card reader -- it didn't work -- the songs didn't even show up in the media player, only file manager. (at least I had them in a decent file name structure to play them through file manager).
I deleted my songs from there and tried using Ovi Suite instead. The songs now show up in media player but I get that same error. Plus it created some stupid "Drag 1" "Drag 2" folders so I can't even find my songs properly in file manager now!!
I've done all the software and firmware updates (along with a dozen bloody restarts).. Why the hell isn't this just a simple drag and drop?

  • How to open .db files from a Nokia on PC (Windows ...

    Hello,
Could you help me with opening/converting .db files from a Nokia. The files look like this: data0.db. I tried Access, Paradox, SQLite Manager, but nothing works.
Here is one of the files:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/447616162/Data2.db
    Thank you.

I'm trying to open .db files as well. They were created by different versions of Nokia PC Suite, and I want to import the information in the Ovi software that Nokia is pushing now.
I lost my phone, and I am trying to recover some of the information that should still be contained in the Nokia PC Suite files located in C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Local Settings\Application Data\PC Suite (on a Windows XP system).
There are different subfolders with different .db files, I'm not sure what they are all for.
I opened one of them using Notepad, and I was able to see contact information like this in between a lot of codes (phone number replaced with * for privacy reasons):
    |7OAndrew BEGIN:VCARD
    VERSION:3.0
    N;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE;CHARSET=UTF-8:Andrew;;;;
    TEL;VOICE:+***********
    END:VCARD

When I open Nokia PC Suite, I can't tell it to open a specific .db file. Previously, it was also the case that I couldn't get access to any of my synced contacts or messages from within PC Suite when my phone wasn't connected. Anyhow, I was hoping to be able to perform an export to CSV from that application but it seems that I can forget about that.
Apparently, I can't import these files with Ovi either.
    Any advice someone?

  • Managing media on Ovi Share

Does anyone know if there's any possible way to work with multiple files in Ovi Share?  Somehow a large upload I did ended up in there four or five times, so four copies each of roughly 40 pictures.  It would be ridiculous to try and clean it up one-by-one, but I can't find any other way to manage the files.  Any ideas, am I missing something on the site, are there any applications to manage Ovi Share, etc?

Wish I had an answer for you - but I had the same issue - had to delete a bunch of files - had to do it one by one.
And now, you can only upload files one by one.

  • Question on songs download from ovi music & compat...

    Hello,
I downloaded few songs from OVI Music. can I play these music on my car stereo using USB drive ? essentially is there a license tied to playing the dowloaded songs on any other system other than Nokia phone ?
    Any inputs will help.
    Thanks
    Venks

Just basing on my observations. I've also tried downloading a few files from Ovi (not sure if that's Ovi Music or Ovi Store).
I notice some files have the .DM file extension -- these files appear to be DRM (digital rights management) protected, and presumably won't be playable elsewhere but the Nokia device.
Other files like MP3 or MP4 would likely be playable in other players (eg car players) assuming that file format is supported to be playable on the external player.
