File sender adapter and content conversion with polish character
We are loading a csv file with PI 7.0 file sender adapter using "content conversion" - all fields go through EXCEPT a special character hex '208C' (space in front) looks like "Æ" is converted to hex 'C28C'.
We are using code page UTF8
We are using:
enclosuresign "
enclosuresignescape ""
fieldcontentformatting nothing
enclosureconversion NO
Hope some one can help
Hi Bohamo,
Hope you have set the following for your file sender adapter :
1. Transfer Mode is set to Binary,
2. File Type Text,
3. Encoding ISO-8859-1( for Western European Latin ).
Inorder to recognize Polish Character, try as follows :
Your sender file after coming into Pi has XML encoding declaration 'UTF-8'.
Write a simple XSLT mapping to change the value of the attribute "encoding" to "ISO-8859-1" in the output XML of message mapping . Include this XSLT map as the second mapping step in your interface mapping.
First step in your interface mapping will be your already existing message mapping.
An example of the XSL code :
<?xml version='1.0'?>
<xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:output method='xml' encoding='ISO-8859-1' />
<xsl:template match="/">
<xsl:copy-of select="*" />
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>
or you can also do java mapping if you are comfortable with java code !
Cheers,
Ram.

File sender adapter: archiving not possible with transp.prot "filesystem,
Hi XI gurus,
in my FILE sender adapter I want to archive the processed files to a separate sub-directory of the "in" directory.
It works if I use transport protocoll "FTP" with a specific user
but it don't works when I use transport protocoll "file system (NFS)".
the xi user has all permission on the directories.
file system is on a UNIX machine.
Has anybody an idea why archiving only works with transf.protocoll FTP ?
Thanx very much in advance

Sender File Adapter and content conversion
Hi,
How can we remove the last line from the file using content conversion?
The last line should not be read from the input file.
Like for the first line we can use Document Offset .......similarly do we have any option for the last line?>

do you want to avoid the last line i.e
EmpDes Japan 100
in that case the 3 options are
1. use a adapter module and remove the last line - this is the ideal option
2. use a OS script - will work but only if you are using the NFS option in the file adapter instead of FTP
3. read that also using content conversion (treat it as a trailer) and ignore it during the mapping -
Problem with file sender adapter and endSeparator
Hy,
have the following situation: with a sender File adpater i have to receive the same structure of data but in two mode.
1) First mode : each recorset is defined as a file line
Example (not fields separator):
fielda,fieldb,fieldc
field2a,field2b,field2c
2) Second mode : recorset of the same line without end
separator and fieldseparator
Example (not fields separator):
fielda,fieldb,fieldc,field2a,field2b,field2c,......
I configured the adapter as follow.
structure.fieldFixedLengths 1,2,3
structure.fieldNames field1,field2,field3
structure.lastFieldsOptional YES
structure.processFieldNames fromConfiguration
structure.endSeparator 'nl'
PROBLEM
Mode 1) works but mode 2) doesn't work.
Could anyone solve my problem??
Thank's
MatiHi,
Try using two differnt record structure name for each mode.for eg give it as structure1 and structure2.then u give the content conversion parameter for both the recordset depending on ur requirement i.e, with and without end seperator.

File sender adapter:FILE to IDOC without BPM, can't see in SXMB_MONI.
Hi all
I have a FILE - XI - IDOC Async scenario without BPM.
I configured FILE sender adapter and IDOC receiver adapter. I made a mapping to transfer file data to the structure of IDOC.
Now when i am trying to load the file using command prompt, i cud see nothing in the monitoring. Whereas if i go to the communication channel monitoring of runtime workbench, i saw that CC is polling correctly and was reading the file also.
And also wen i saw in the processed folder which i mentioned in the CC configuration for the ARCHIVE DIRECTORY, i saw that file got transferred to the folder also.
I don't understand why i cant see anything in the monitoring.
Could anybody help me to rectify the problem. Is there anything i m missing ?
Regards
NainaRajesh/Amar
TCode:: SXMB_ADM->Integration engine configuration->specific configuration->runtime
Trace_Level = 3 then you can get all MONI PIPELINE Steps also
I did this change but cudn't see anything in SXMB_MONI.
This is how i have configured my process:
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/FiletoMultipleIDOCSplittingwithoutBPM
But instead of IDOC splitting i have simple FILE - XI -IDOC scenario.
I have configured everything exaclty the same way it is mentioned here. But for me the process is not visible at all.
I can't even see the first request message in the monitoring.
This is the message i can see in the communication channel monitoring:
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Success Channel CC_*: Entire file content converted to XML format
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Warning Channel CC_*: Empty document found. Proceed without sending message
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Success File "/xyz/ABC.txt" archived after processing
Is there any problem with the file and that could be the reason it cant convert the file to the request message MT_REQUEST and thus am not able to see anything in monitoring.
help me guys....this is a simple process and i m stuck...its frustrating

Hello All...
sysinfo: files to join, file1, file2, file3 output after joining the files should be sal.txt and the executable file is run.bat
We have a File Sender Adapter and we are trying to "Run an Operating System Command Before message Processing" where we execute run.bat, if we execute it manually this executable run.bat is ok, but if we try to use it from "run operating System command before message processing" it does not work (it does not create the sal.txt file in the operating system)
we are wondering if that is because file sal.txt in the field "file name" of "file access parameters" does not exist in the operating system before the file run.bat runs.
Any clue about this?.
RegardsHI Maru,
Why don't you try to run this command from the sender directory specified in your sender file adapter in your command prompt??
Does that result in success???
And also, Instead of using a .bat fie, use the following command
COPY "C:\MyFolder\file1.txt" + "C:\MyFolder\file2.txt" +"C:\MyFolder\file3.txt" "C:\MyFolder\sal.txt" -
File sender adapter: trigger mail if file is not there
Hi,
I have an scenario where I have a file sender adapter, and I need to look for a file in a specific folder from a specific FTP site.
If the file is not present there, I need to trigger an alert to let some people know that the file was not found.
Is this possible? If so, how should I do it?
Thanks! You could also write an abap in your PI system to call the function 'EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING' against the FTP site/folder/filename(s) at a required interval if you don't want to use a BPM. This abap could also send an email if you so desired.
The general theory should be that if you can do something a simpler way then don't use BPM's if you can avoid them. -
File Sender Adapter - Throw Alerts
Hi experts,
I've custom a communication channel for the file sender adapter and I'd like to raise alerts in case of technical errors and functional.
I managed to do this for functional errors, by alert rules, and runs good. But for technical errors, the alert rules, not runs good.
I think to develop this control through Adapter User Modules. But so far I have not succeeded. Because if I remove the read permissions of the directory, the User Module is not executed.
I don't know the solution. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jose.Hi experts,
My problem was a bad configuration on the parameters of the alert rule. To manage the system errors and the application errors for my process integration scenario I'm configured the next:
System Errors:
Rule Activated: Yes. - And - Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule: No.
Description and Alert Category, the corresponds.
Bound to message: Not relevant.
Sender Service, Sender Interface and Sender namespace, the corresponds.
The other conditions: *
Where did the error occur?
Adapter Engine: Yes. - Adapter Type: File
Application Errors:
Rule Activated: Yes. - And - Suppress Multiple Alerts of This Rule: No.
Description and Alert Category, the corresponds.
Bound to message: Yes.
Sender Service, Sender Interface and Sender namespace, and Receiver conditions, the corresponds.
Where did the error occur?
No Restriction.

File Sender adapter with File content conversion
Hi
I'm having problems picking up a flat file that has some junk characters in the file.
I'm usign a file sender adapter with file content conversion. The adapters shows the following error-
Conversion of complete file content of to XML format failed around position 0: sun.io.MalformedInputException
this is the sample data with junk char's -
A20099201009999009999060815160505051700130008151vÿÿÿÿ³ r 0OK0476 31N016227241915840IV 00840 ÿÿÿ ÿ ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿ ÿÿÿ
There is not much in the file content conversion. This is a fixed length file, I'm just pickign it up & passing it to an inbound proxy. All my processing is in the proxy.
I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks
RachanaHi Rachana,
Do you use a specific "encoding" like UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1 in your Sender CC?
To be simple, Encoding is linked to country, you can find all "iso-nnnn" via google or some of them in sap help.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/content.htm
Moreover, with your source file opened thanks to Notepad (for instance), use option "save UNDER", you will the encoding use by your file

Attachment of original message in file sender adapter content conversion
Hi,
does anybody know how I can configure a file sender communication channel (with content conversion) so that the original file is added to the XI SOAP message as attachment? Maybe this is just a parameter in "Advanced" tab. (The content conversion itself is not an issue.)
The result should be the "Main Document" (XML-message) and the "original document" as two attachments in the SOAP payload.
The reason for this is that the original file should be archived with the XML message as it was before the XML content conversion of the file sender adapter took place.
Thanks,
Philipporiginal file is added to the XI SOAP message as attachment?
The "Advanced" tab -> additional files added in file adapter should act as the attachment to soap receiver adapter if u select the "Keep Attachments" option in soap receiver communication channel.
What do u want to do in FCC is a bit unclear?

Sender File Content Conversion with re-occuring record pairs
Hi,
Our FCC works fine with the following structure:
Header1: H1F1, H1F2, H1F3,... (1:1)
Header2: H2F1,H2F2,H2F3,..... (1:1)
Notes: NF1,NF2,NF3,.............(1:1)
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,.............(1:N)
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,............(1:N)
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,
But we have structure as below:
Header1: H1F1, H1F2, H1F3,... (1:1)
Header2: H2F1,H2F2,H2F3,..... (1:1)
Notes: NF1,NF2,NF3,.............(1:1)
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,.............(1:N)
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,.............(1:N)
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,
Line1:L1F1,L1F2,L1F3,
Line2:L2F1,L2F2,L2F3,
Lin1 and Line2 occur as multiple pairs making it as multiple line items. When we use content conversion parameters as below:
Header1.fieldNames H1F1,H1F2,H1F2,...
Header1.fieldFixedLengths 10,5,10,.....
Header1.keyFieldValue H1
Header1.keyFieldInStructure add
Header1.endSeparator 'nl'
Header1.lastFieldsOptional YES
and same for Header2, Notes, Line1, Line2
It picks up only first Header1, Header2, Notes, Line1 and Line2 in a recordset.
Does anyone have idea how could we do this content conversion? Any help would be appreciated.

How to handle flat file with variable delimiters in the file sender adapter
Hi friends,
I have some flat files in the ftp server and hope to poll them into XI, but before processing in XI, I hope to do some content conversion in the file sender adapter, according to the general solution, I just need to specify the field names, field seperator, end seperator, etc. But the questions is:
The fileds in the test data may have different amount of delimiters (,), for example:
ORD01,,,Z4XS,6100001746,,,,,2,1
OBJ01,,,,,,,,,,4,3
Some fileds only have 1 ',' as the delimiter, but some of them have multiple ','.
How can I handle it in the content conversion?

File Sender Adapter with FTP protocol
Hi,
I implementet a file sender adapter with FTP protocol. There is a problem: the sender processes the files even if they're in use by another application.
I.E. If another application put files (via ftp) in the sender work directory (that is on ftp), the sender processes those files before their transfer is completed.
I don't want that this sender in a communication channel in PI 7.1, imports files in the system when they aren't completed yet.
There are some ways to block sender before it processes incompleted files (in an ftp)?
Thanks
MatteoHi,
File sender adapter provides a check for NFS mode
+Check this
To specify additional parameters in the adapter configuration, set the Advanced Modeindicator.
● Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check
Enter the number of milliseconds that the adapter must wait before it checks whether the files have been changed.
This parameter is not available if you have selected File Content Conversion as the Message Protocoland then made an entry under Recordsets per Message that splits an input file into several messages.
This parameter is applicable only for the File adapter. If you enter a value in this field when configuring the sender FTP adapter, it will have no effect.+
Other approach can be to apply OS level checks

File Sender Adapter - Dinamic Source Directory and Filename
Hi Experts,
I have to receive in XI a file and depeding of some info, put it in diferent directories with diferent fieldnames.
In receiver File Adapter we can set the directory and fieldname dinamically by ABAP-CLASS mapping, but not in Sender.
I've read Michal's blog

But, I can't find Adapter-Specific Message Attributes in my File Adapter...:-) I've checked SP version is SP16, where are my Adapter-Specific Message Attributes?
How can I set Directory and Fieldname at runtime for Sender File Adapter?
Please help...
Thanks all in advance,
Regards.
Urtzi.Hi Nilesh,
Your threath is not about my issue...
Answering to other friends, what I want is not to write p.e.: '/server/dir/' in each File Sender Adapter Channel, and put it with any other way looking some 'customizing' or checking a condition.
The problem is that frecuently in the Company changes servers and we have to enter to the Directory and change every Channel one by one...We would like to reduce the maintain of the Channels with a mapping, variable, customizing table...or something similar. Do I explain?
I don't know if its possible but I had the hope...:-)
Thanks all.
