Hi Gaurav,
I got the issue, problem was that the reginfo and secinfo on my ABAP system which was connected to my JAVA system, it was not allowing the requests to pass through and hence it was not getting registered. I deactivated the parameters of reginfo and secinfo and its now working fine.
I will look into the issue of where i went wrong with reginfo/secinfo

File system /usr/sap/hostctrl/work getting full rapidly
Dears,
Recently We have installed PI 7.1 on AIX 6.1 and database is Oracle 10g.
Everything is working fine but we are facing one strange issue with it.
Our file system /usr/sap/hostctrl/work is getting full again and again,I checked that there is a file dev_saphostexec that is taking maximum space,At present its of 15 GB.
So please suggest how to solve this problem.
ShivamDear Mark,
I have read OSS Note SAP Note 1031096 - Installing Package SAPHOSTAGENT.
We are starting this week installing "Diagnostics Agent 711" on all SAP Netweaver 7.00 mananged system.
I have read the "Diagnostics Agent 7.11- Setup Guide".
In the "Installation Process", there is a step concerning the "Install the SAP Host Agent - Page 9".
I have read the "Installation_SAPHOSTAGENT.pdf" guide.
In the first page of this guide, it is written :
"You only need to download and install the host agent in the following cases :
- You want to centrally monitor a host that does not have an SAP component"
- You want to perform an upgrade to the SAP NetWeaver 7.1 for an SAP NetWeaver component".
In our productive envronment, we do have 2 clusters :
Cluster 01 is composed of 2 nodes.
Only "Databases" and "Central Services" of 5 SAP Systems are running.
There is no CI or SA
Cluster 02 is composed of 6 nodes.
Only CI and AS of 5 productive systems are running on theses 6 nodes.
My question :
Do we have to install a SAP HOST AGENT in nodes of cluster 01 ?
As written in "Downloading and Installating Package SAPHOSTAGENT" guide,
SAP HOST AGENT only need to be install on "host that does not have an SAP component".
Can we consider that "database" and "Central Service" are SAP Component or not ?
Thanks in advance for your feedback
Best regards

Portal can not work with abnormal increased /usr/sap/SID file space
hi experts,
I got a problem today on our HR portal.
At first I can't login the nwa, then I checked tha OS of portal, I saw that the file system /usr/sap/SID's used spaces increase very quickly, though I increase the free spaces for emergency use, the portal still can not work and the free space is still missing. I just solved by restart the SAP service.
Did anyone face the same problems before?
System information
OS --> AIX v5.3
Database --> Oracle 10.2.0.2
SAP --> netweaver 2004s SP12.Hi,
This happens when your archive log file of the application increases,
Check the folder usr/sap/sid/instance/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/archive folder this is the reason for your disk space increase. Just take a backup and delete the files in the archive folder (except temp folder).
The deletion of older archive files is not handeled by SAP, you have to manually delete the archive logs.

PDF files are stored to /usr/sap/ SID SYS/global
True or False --> When a PDF file is generated from within SAP the spool file is stored in /usr/sap/<SID>SYS/global
After a recent upgrade to ECC 6 I'm noticing that a large number of SPOOL* files are in the global directory. Each spool file has 3 components a SPOOL.cfg, SPOOL.xfd and a SPOOL*.ps file .When I examine the spool number using SP01 I see that these jobs all have an output type of PDF. Only files of type PDF appear in the global directory. It does not matter which output device is used. No output device in my system is defined to write to the global directory. Everything is set up to store files to the database.
My assumption is that the generation of a PDF format requires a temporary storage area to convert the data from the "Device Type" setting for the printer (such as Postscript or HPGL) to the PDF format and that the /usr/sap/<SID>SYS/global directory is used for this purpose.
Is there a parameter setting that allows me to modifiy this "conversion" location?Assumptions:
---> You are running on Unix - I don't have instructions for Windows, but they would be analogous
---> Your System ID is TX1
---> 2Gb is big enough to hold your Adobe files
1.) Create a 2Gb file system named /AdobeFiles
2.) Create the required directories under this new file system
- For example: /AdobeFiles/300ADSP
3.) Verify that the user <sid>adm can write to the directory created in step 2
4.) Apply SAP note 1327372
5.) Rename the filesystems that SAP note 1327372 creates
- For example: mv /usr/sap/TX1/SYS/global/300ADSP /usr/sap/TX1/SYS/global/300ADSP-ORG
6.) Create a symbolic link for the required directory to the directory created in step 2
- For example: ln -s /AdobeFiles/300ADSP /usr/sap/TX1/SYS/global/300ADSP
7.) Test your link
cd /usr/sap/TX1/SYS/global/300ADSP
touch TestFile
cd /AdobeFiles/300ADSP/TestFile
Your file should have been created in /AdobeFiles/300ADSP -
We are getting error message "Wily BC patch /usr/sap/<SID>/JC06 is not a directory while doing managed systems setup. System verification is successful. The Java directory should be /usr/sap/<SID>/J06 in our case, which is showing correctly in LMDB. Any idea?
I have done the usual resynch SLD, Rerun system verification and reset managed systems configuration etc.Hi Tariq,
Please enter complete path like below and check :
/usr/sap/<ManagedSID>/<InstanceID>/ByteCodeAdapter
Also check below SAP note for details :
1943583 - Wily Agent Directory files are Missing after Network loss - Solution manager 7.1
Hope this helps.

File system for SAP ECC, EP , BI and CRM installation on Solaris/DB2
Hello,
We are going to implement SAP ECC 6.0 with EP 7, BI and CRM on Solaris operating system with IBM DB2 database.
All these applications are going to be installed on single server, as being a basis person, I know this is not all recommended.
But due to client's requirement and keeping cost factor in mind I need to install all these application on single box.
Now here I need your help. as I basis person, I know the required Solaris file system for SAP ECC 6.0 but not having any Idea about other application like EP/ CRM and BI .
If anyone able to help me with required Solaris file system. it will be great help.
Please let me know if there is any query.
Thanks.> All these applications are going to be installed on single server, as being a basis person, I know this is not all recommended.
> But due to client's requirement and keeping cost factor in mind I need to install all these application on single box.
Why not using Solaris zones/container? This decreases the administrative amount tremendeously since you will deal as with "single machines" but they all run together on one box.
> Now here I need your help. as I basis person, I know the required Solaris file system for SAP ECC 6.0 but not having any Idea about other application like EP/ CRM and BI .
So you'd need to read the installation guides

SDA hdbsdautil does not exist in /usr/sap/ SID /home
I am looking to test ODBC connections for SDA per this document:
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/706d9725-7087-3110-6d9e-91be8ad377d6?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&59064390315971
But hdbsdautil does not exist in my home folder.
I am able to see that program under exe:
/sapmnt/<SID>/exe/linuxx86_64/HDB_1.00.70.00.386119_1342680
But when I execute there I see the following error:
error while loading shared libraries: libhdbrskernel.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Any thoughts?Hi Sebastian,
Of course the program hdbsdautil is not in the home directory, as it resides in the exe directory of the SAP HANA software.
server:/usr/sap/HBW/HDB10> which hdbsdautil
/usr/sap/HBW/HDB10/exe/hdbsdautil
server:/usr/sap/HBW/HDB10>
It seems it was not included in the initial SP07 release of HANA 1.0 and an update to the latest version on SP07, which is Rev. 73 is anyway recommended.

Dear All,
In our one of java based system file system /usr/sap becomes full.
I need to delete some of old files.
I found some old files like .....heapdump1208338.1313527999.phd in following path
/usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0
So can i delete it.
Please suggestDear satu,
Hope you are doing good.
Please see sap note: 1589548 for the JAVA server filling up and Note 16513 fo the ABAP end:
1589548 - J2EE engine trace files fills up at a rapid pace
and
16513 - File system is full - what do I do?
However, for the heap dump, please check he reason for it, else you will face other occurences later.
If you face the error again, kindly check the below link to generate the heap dump:
SAP Note No. 1004255- How to create a full HPROF heap dump of J2EE Engine
As I am not sure about your OS, I am mentioning all notes:
AIX: 1259465 How to get a heapdump which can by analyzed with MAT
LNX: 1263258 IBM JDK 1.4.2 x86_64: How to get a proper heapdump
AS400: 1267126 IBM i: How to get a heapdump which can by analyzed
Z/OS: 1336952 DB2-z/OS:Creating a heapdump which can be analyzed
HP-UX 1053604 DK heap dump and heap profiling on HP-UX
There is no side effect of the heap dump parameter; it will however write a heap dump, so make sure that there is enough free space on the server. Even if the free space is less, it will not harm the server in any manner; just the dump written
will not be complete. This will hinder the analysis.
More details are available here:

/dev/root file system full
Hello.
We can't to login to system by telnet, ftp, rlogin, console, because recieved:
<b> messages msgcnt 142 vxfs: mesg 001: vx_nospace - /dev/root file system full (1 block extent) </b>
Instance's of Oracle and SAP are working and we are afraid to reboot server.
We working on HP-UX
is there any solution for this problem?
regards
DenisHey Denis
why dont you try to extend your /dev/root File system?
if your files system is already 1005 full and 0 bits space left, then try to move some files to other location where space available and try to extend your files system, that will resolve your space issue.
But one thing I can tell you is there is no harm in deleting core file from /usr/sap/<SID>/<DEVMBG00>/work.
