File With Attachment to Mail with Attachment

I'm developing above scenario. I want to retain the name of the attachment. Is it possible to do with UDF ?. Attachment is in csv format and Main file may be txt format.

Use MessageTransformBean module in adapter configuration to achieve this.
Enter "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" as the module. Select the Type "Local Enterprise Bean" and select a value for Module Key. Use this module key to create the following three lines in Module Configuration:
Transform.ContentDisposition attachment;filename="myfilename.csv"
Transform.ContentDescription myfilename.csv
Transform.ContentType application/xls;name="myfilename.csv"

I'm using File adapter and using additional Files option to attach another attachment. I have to send mail out using Mail receiver adapter and should use same attachment name File adapter picked up. I tried several options using MessageTransformBean, PayloadSwapBean etc with no Luck. mail going out to Goole and exchange server as Untitiled.txt . Im using Mail package as Receivers of the mail are dynamic. How can I sent Mail attachment with name dynamically set ?.

There are several MIME headers that play a role in how the mail client retrieves the file name of an attachment. This behavior differs among various mail clients. Some mail clients use the name parameter in the Content-Type header. While some other use the Content-Disposition or Content-Description value as the file name. To avoid potential interpretation problems, it is recommended to combine the use of these headers. Ideally, your mail header should look something like :
Content-Type: application/text; name="myfile.txt";
Content-Description: myfile.txt
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="myfile.txt";;
Check whether the mail header generated by PI mail adapter sets all these MIME attributes.

I cannot attach files to my Yahoo mail with Firefox 21. It works fine with IE.

Up till about 3 weeks ago I had no problems. Now when I try to attach any file to my Yahoo mail I get a red triangle saying 1 file cannot be sent. If I go to Explorer it goes right through. I tried all the stuff about deleting the history and cache and everything else but it still doesn't work.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

File name issue in mail adapter attachement.

HI all,
i built a scenario proxy to mail in which the data will be sent as attachement to the mail id coming from proxy it self.
I added the transform bean and xi mail adapter bean correctly..
The scenario is working fine without errors...
however the issue is. i have given the file name in for module key :
Transform = Transform.ContentDisposition = attachement;filename="xyz.csv"
but while testing the attachement is coming as "untitled.txt"
i need the attachement to be named as "xyz.csv" only.
where went wrong ...please give ur inputs.

Then there is no need to use Transformation bean for this
In Mapping map the mail package Content_type field with
text/plain;name="xyz.csv"
and select mail package and keep attachments in receiver mail adapter

Why do people get a .dat and an image file when I e-mail an attachment?

I don't know where to post this question.

I have the opposite problem. Some people who send me attachments, and all I get is some .dat file.
I have found it to only happen when the sender is using Microsoft Outlook, which IMO is a garbage program. And this ranks as reason number 5, on my list.
The problem is usulaly solved when I ask the user, please do not send me attachments if you are going to use Outlook. I know it has to be due to some unfamiliarity with the User on how to use Outlook.
I understand that recipients can install a DAT decoder, but it would be a lot simpler if Outlook users simply get along with others set their own program to not use DAT encoding for their RTF emails, and attachments.

Problems with attachments to mails (with browser firefox)

Firefox does not do email, but there are enough users here that someone might be able to help you anyway, if you indicated what web based email you are using and how you are attempting to add the attachment. And when it stopped working, if you can improve on that statement. What is the file extension of the attachment.
Looks like you provided the exact wording on the message so Googling that including the enclosing quotes. Seems to show the number 1 answer comes from Yahoo answers -- so for maybe they have the biggest problem the example will assume it is yahoo, though they all have these same two problems. Such problems often occur more frequently when the website makes major changes or when Firefox comes out with an updated version. I think Yahoo changed their site they wanted me to update to the new whatever.

Yahoo provides good picture documentation on their site and better and safer than Mozilla's support example for Firefox (which requires you to read carefully or end up destroying all of your history), but I think my picture above is better as it shows both panels side by side. But you might want to the the same for other browsers from their documentation as well.

Possible bug with Notes (in Mail) with copy / paste

Has anyone else experienced this...
From time to time the copy / paste does not work properly. When I copy some text with command-c & place the insertion point at the end of line somewhere else in the document & press command-V, the text will be inserted in the line above.
I am not certain of the precise pattern to reproduce the bug, but try this...
1) Open an existing note document within mail...
2) Copy several lines of text & paste somewhere else in the document
3) Then type some text at the end of one of these lines
4) Highlight & copy that text
5) Move insertion point to the end of the next line
6) press command-v
7) Text does not get pasted to the right location, but to the line above

Who is your eMail provider, the part after the @ sign?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.
Open Keychain Access in Utilities, use Keychain First Aid under the Keychain Menu item, then either check the Password under that item, change it, or delete it and start over.
You may have multiple entries.
Open Keychain Access in Utilities, enter the part after the @ sign in the search bar, hit enter
The Password rejection can confuse people since it's a catch all meaning...
This Password, Username, Authentication method... is not recognized on this Port to this Server, more than one entry in Keychain for each in/out entry, or a server end problem.
If using a browser to login via WebMail works it's not Name or Password, but one of the other ones.
The receiving email ports are:
IMAP is port 143
IMAP-SSL is port 993
POP is port 110
POP-SSL is port 995
Outgoing ports are...
SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.

What is the best way to send auto mail with excel(generated by query) attachment?

Hello,
Need to generate first data from stored procedure and the save it to an excel file and then send mail with the same excel file.
So am searching for the best way so that i could do all process in a single task with daily or monthly schedule.
As per my understanding, we could it via SSIS and by sql server using
sp_send_dbmail.
But i have to generate excel file first by stored procedure and then end it by mail.
So please suggest the best way to accomplish all task in a single task.

As shown in the blog mentioned by Syed, to delete records from the Excel file, you need to use Update OpenRowset command to update the corresponding rows to blank.
Alternatively, you can also use Derived Column Transformation or Conditional Split Transformation after the OLE DB Source so that you can replace the target rows with NULL before exporting to Excel destination or just redirect the expected records to the
Excel destination.
Then, in the Control Flow, you can add a Send Mail Task to send the Excel file by setting it as the attachment. The following screenshot is for your reference:

Photos attached to an email can be saved to the Camera Roll in the Photos app on your phone. Tap and hold on a photo in the email until you get a choice to Save Image.
Other documents require a suitable app.
PDFs can be saved in the free iBooks app available in the App Store.
Word docs can be saved in Pages or other apps that support text files.

Outlook and mac mail client attachements freeze, skype freeze

Hi all,
I am working in a company that many users have Macbooks Air and Pro. One specific user with a a Macbook air that has a clean install of Yosemite (not even a week ) started to have problems with the mac mail client attachements. Every time he tried to insert a file the mail client frozen and had to force quit. After a while i observe the same issue on Outlook mail client. At last after a reboot that he did to see if that gonna solve the problem then Skype started to freeze also and had to quit every time. So now, so far none of the above apps work as expected and the Skype doesn't work at all. It has to be noted here that we did the upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite to solve the Skype issue that he had also for a couple months now and it wasn't resolved from Skype's support team( never answered). So for now we have again the same problem and and with a fresh install of Yosemite i am started to thinking about hardware issues or even broken drivers, code to Yosemite etc. The laptop has an encrypted SSD using Filevault, SEP, Office and Acrobat Reader nothing else.
Any thoughts to solve this issue?

Thank you for your answer, yes i did erase the hard drive and install Yosemite!! After a second call that i made with my client he said that first of all:
The problems of the Outlook and mac mail client attachements freeze started after he install Cisco VPN Anyconnect (I don't think that this has to do anything with the freezing) so he tried to remove this using Appcleaner. After this not only the Outlook and mac mail client attachements freeze problem was remaining but he saw that skype started to freeze also. No matter how many uninstall and install he made to the Skype, Skype continues to freeze. For the mail freeze i advise him to use the verify/repair disk permissions and so far that one solved. The remaining problem is the Skype Freeze so far. I also tried to remove the Skype following this https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12073/how-can-i-completely-uninstall-and-then -reinstall-skype-for-mac-os-x
so to avoid Appcleaner and still the problem persist even with older versions of Skype. I also create another profile account in Yosemite and Skype seemed to played well there. But i would need to solve in his account so to avoid any file transfer. Do you have any idea why that happened? Is it a file permissions problem? Corrupt/missing files in users profile? This one problem had in the past as i wrote in the previous comment and couldn't work at that time.
Any thought on that? What could be wrong?

Mac Mail with Hotmail and iPhone

So I have been searching around for hours and I have a few problems with syncing my Mail with my iPhone.
1) I have a iPhone 4s and a macbook pro. I have an email account set up on my mac mail that I want to sync with my iPhone. The problem is it is a hotmail account. The issue is I want my emails to be marked as read no matter where I read the message. What is happening is that I am reading my emails in the morning on my mac and then when I open the same email on my phone I have to go through and delete and read the same messages. Is there a way to set it up so that both my mac and my phone sync to the same unread and read messages?
2) My iPhone no longer shows me the red unread messages alert in the corner of the icon. It dings when I get an email but the icon does not alert me anymore. Any ideas why this would be gone?

I was able to go through a long and tedious process but it looks like with some tips and trick I have managed to set up a system that works with iPhone being IMAP and Mac Mail being POP. I am making sure my messages remove the copy from the server after I move them from the inbox. This works because once I delte or move it to a folder it deletes off of hotmail and then updates my phone that hotmail messages has been removed. It is a annoying work around but it seems to work at this point.
