FileNameFilter equivalent in Acrobat JS?

Hi all,
Is there something in Acrobat JS that is an equivalent to Java's FileNameFilter ?

You just got an answer that there isn't any way in Acrobat JS to get a list
of files in a folder, so what's the point of this question?
The only way you can collect file names is by using an Action and saving
the paths of the files processed into a global array, which you can later
on use in other scripts.

Al instalar de nuevo mi programa adobe acrobat x pro, no me funciona. ¿Cómo puedo solucionarlo?

On what platform/OS? What do you mean by does not work? Did you reenter the SN and such when you installed it? Does Acrobat open at all (this is related to the question about does not work)? If so, then go to Help and do the updates. If you can't open Acrobat at all you can try the following (Windows assumed):
    1. Go to Start>Control Panel>Programs & Features (or the equivalent), select Acrobat, and do a repair.
    2. Download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install the updates in order (unless indicated where you can skip -- downloading from the last to the oldest will let you know which you can skip). You only need to reboot after the last update.
Something similar will likely work on a MAC.

LiveCycle PDF Generator is one of Adobe's server products (technically suitable and licensed for server use; license terms may vary according to negotiation).
But it is not an API equivalent to Acrobat, and does not have all (or even many) of its functions. It's focussed purely on initial creation of PDF. There are many other server offerings, some of which we know a little about. What is the process requirement?

  • Acrobat equivalent of PPT's "presentation" mode?

I've convinced a client to let me use an Interactive PDF (out of InDesign CS5) instead of PPT for his courtroom graphics. It is working absolutely beautifully! The *only* feature of Powerpoint that I have not been able to replicate/surpass/find a workaround is Powerpoint's "Presentation Mode." for when the PDF is being projected onscreen. He needs to be able to see which slide is coming next, without the rest of the court being able to see.
The only workaround I have thought of for this is SO clunky: have two laptops, one that is projecting the PDF in Full Screen mode, one that is for his eyes and has Page View active...if he advances both shows at the same time, he'll be able to cross reference the two laptops. Pretty horrible, right?!!
I am at a loss. I figured that, if two heads are better than one, the thousands of users on here will SURELY be able to help me out. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have!

Sorry, but there's no equivalent feature in Acrobat or Adobe Reader and no way to implement it with scripting or even the SDK. It's been requested before, but I can't say if it will ever happen.

  • How can I create a linkable TOC on the left using Acrobat XI Pro?

I am completely new to making PDFs. I have a User Manual that I created in Word and would like to have a TOC on the left for easy access to the topics. How can I do this?

    Geri ,
The same can be done in a PDF using Acrobat .
    You can add bookmarks here.
On the left hand side of the page ,you will see few options on the pane.Choose the option bookmark and you can create ,expand or delete bookmarks from there.
That is equivalent to TOC in word.

  • Font Error Message While Editing a PDF File with Acrobat XI Pro

    Hello,
I have Acrobat XI Pro running on Windows 8.1
I scanned a PDF File and then went to "Tools - Text Recognition - In This File - Edit - OutPutStyle ClearScan etc etc" and got the file into "Edit Mode".
When I replace a "number/digit", the replacement digit font is "very small" and there is a "Yellow Triangle" error message which says the following.
"The Original Font Fd 3168 is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font "Minion Pro" font in its place.
Anybody know how to overcome this error message/problem OR alternatively how do I change the FONT of the whole page to some other Font?
Also how do I find a "similar or equivalent font" for Fd 3168 font that Adobe Acrobat says, is not available.
    TIA

    Hi Bill.  Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately, I don't have the option of using the original DOCX file.  The author lost it, leaving only the pdf around
I'm using AA XI 11.0.06.  Upgraded this morning.  That's running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64.
I get the boundary boxes by clicking on the 'edit text and images' tool, and they appear.  Or don't in this case
I only need to change a few characters in the file.   However, even just opening up the file in AA and then saving, the "A = " "text" gets deleted.
Could it perhaps be something to do with embedded or missing maths fonts on my machine?  I mean, I don't get any warnings, just can't do anything with the A and AB italic bold text.
    Thanks!

  • Update acrobat xi version 11.0.08 fail ,window 8.1, error 1328, how to fix it , please!

window 8.1, current use scrobat xi version 11.0.08, window always pop up to ask for update but fail when i follow the instruction
error 1328 ,how to fix it, please !

The errors are listed at Update errors | Windows. This one suggests that a file is missing. Is Acrobat still functional? If so, go to the help>Repair. Then do the updates from the help menu. You can also download the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (or MAC equivalent).

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 not including Updater when first installed?

I install Acrobat 9 for specific client PCs in our domain. After installing, I run all updates until I get up to version 9.5.5. I run updates via Help > Check for Updates.
As of today, I am getting an error that reads:
"THERE ARE NO UPDATES AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME UPDATES FOR THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS CANNOT BE DETERMINED AT THIS TIME: ADOBE UPDATER"
I have tried this on multiple PCs, always the same issue, always installed under Administrator account. Was never a problem before. If it matters, Windows 7 64 SP1 with all current updates. It has worked on Windows 7 64 PCs previous to this via the same process with no issues.
    Thanks for any help!!!

Sometimes the update site is down and other times they no longer support online updates to the products. You should still be able to download updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (there is an equivalent for a MAC). If you download from the latest back, you can find which updates can be skipped. Also, a reboot is only needed after the last update. It is possible to combine the updates, but I don't know how to do that.

  • Acrobat 9.0 created in Windows, doesn't like Mac?

Hi there, I've created a form for a client with radio button questions (answers in values 1-10) that appear on the last page and produce an overall score.  It works absolutely fine on mine and 4 other computers that are all Windows based, however he is Mac based and is unable to save the answers (though the form is rights enabled) on his form to his desktop to then email onwards, and the answers from the buttons & overall score function doesn't work at all.
I'm at a loss how to fix this, or what I can recommend.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  It may have nothing to do with the Windows-Mac compatibility (technically it shouldn't right?) but it's the only thing I can think of that makes any sense!  Having said that I'm not a hugely experienced Acrobat user so there may just be a button I need to push somewhere!...

It could also be that if he is using Reader, he may not have the MAC equivalent of MAPI running. E-mail submission is often a problem, but I know little about the issues with a MAC and that might be the issue.

  • Acrobat 9 - save as PDF 1.7

I'm working on an automated way to re-save the current document to a specific PDF version - 1.7. So far I have achieved this using pre-flight profiles (pre-defined - "Compatible with Acrobat n") and executing these via Javascript. As there is no profile for "Compatible with Acrobat 8", I looked into creating one. At this point I found that the fixup for "Set PDF Version" only has options for PDF 1.3 - 1.6.
I note that the optimizer allows the document to be saved as compatible with "Acrobat 8 or later" and this results in a PDF 1.7 file. I'd rather use pre-flight (not sure optimizer can be automated?), but am confused as to why the equivalent functionality isn't available.
N.B. reason for asking - 1.7 requirement is mandated by FDA.
    Any guidance appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Gareth

PDF 1.7 is the highest level you can go, and is the ISO standard (ISO 32000-1:2008). The only difference in support between Acrobat 8,9 and X is for the Extension Level features (EL3 and EL5), but both of those remain within the PDF 1.7 foundation.
So, there's no reason why Preflight would have the ability to downversion to 1.7 as you wouldn't be beyond that.

  • How to remove file path location listings from photos and objects in Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF?

After converting a windows-based Powerpoint 2007 presentation to an Acrobat Pro 9.0 PDF, the file path location of all photos and objects are shown in a dialogue box when the cursor is moved over the image as seen in this screenshot below. How can I stop this from happening and remove this feature on my pdf documents?

I saw that referenced on a forum, but it does not seem to address the issue I am having.
As per Adobe Acrobat X Standard * What’s new, the equivalent to the "Tools > Protection > Remove Hidden Information" utility found in Acrobat X Standard is the same as the "Document > Examine Document" feature in Acrobat Pro 9.0. Those tools seem to cover meta data, book marks, hidden text, and deleted or cropped content, but not the file path listings that appear on images and objects converted from Powerpoint presentations and other MS Office programs.
I have reviewed the settings used while creating a pdf, and have also tried the “Advanced > Preflight tool”, but could not find anything to apply to the issue at hand.
Thus, this issue has not been resolved, but seems like it should be an easy fix that anyone who publishes pdf documents would want to use to publish clean, professional documents without anyone seeing the file path location of every object and image shown in the document on their hard drive.

  • Acrobat is changing hyperlinks when opening in browser

    Hi everyone,
I have a pdf file containing a lot of hyperlinks. When certain links are clicked on, Acroabt opens up a browser window but the page won't load because some of the characters in the URL are being changed. For example the following url:
    http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm?rank=find&criteria=AND~PS~basic~exact:::AND~LA~basic ~exact:::AND~2010%2F4~basic~exact&target=OA&style=java&sdocid=PSR/PS20104/NAT/ATO/00001&re cStart=1&PiT=99991231235958&Archived=false&recnum=1&tot=3&pn=ALL:::ALL
    ...gets replaced with this:
    http://law.ato.gov.au/atolaw/view.htm?rank=find&criteria=AND%7EPS%7Ebasic%7Eexact:::AND%7E LA%7Ebasic%7Eexact:::AND%7E2010%2F4%7Ebasic%7Eexact&target=OA&style=java&sdocid=PSR/PS2010 4/NAT/ATO/00001&recStart=1&PiT=99991231235958&Archived=false&recnum=1&tot=3&pn=ALL:::ALL
It seems to be swapping out the tilde sign (~) with the following characters:
    %7E
When I hover over the hyplink in Acroabt, the correct version appears. It only happens once it's clicked and the brower window is opened.
Does anyone know why this happens or whether there is a workaround?
    Thanks in advance

Tilde is indeed arguably forbidden in a URL, and should be replaced by %7E. So Acrobat is doing the right thing. We can now often get away with the tilde, but they should be treated as exactly equivalent.
This is discussed in http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/tilde.html which can also be accessed as http://www.cs.tut.fi/%7Ejkorpela/tilde.html.
You are right that the Australian government web site isn't accepting this. The site appears to be faulty.
