  • FileOpen Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat/Reader doesn't install!  It's like Groundhog Day!

I recently downloaded Adobe Reader (first 9, then 8) because I am trying to be able to open a PDF from a Chinese newspaper archive website.  When I click on the PDF files, the white "Adobe Updater" thing opens and it says "Some components needed to complete this operation are missing but information about them may be available on the Adobe website.  Would you like to search the Adobe website for the missing components?"  Then I click OK, and it takes me to this place on the Adobe website that automatically takes me to plugin.fileopen.com and installs whatever it is that I need (it also gives me the option to download whatever the plugin is, and then install it separately).  It says "Please use the FileOpen installer below to ensure that the FileOpen plug-in is installed correctly . . . "  I've tried both the installation suggested through a few easy clicks, and also the "alternative" installation wherein I download the plug-in to my desktop and then install it.  BUT, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I DO THIS, AFTER I CLOSE THE BROWSER AND TRY TO OPEN THE PDF AGAIN, THE WHITE "ADOBE UPDATER" THING OPENS AND THE WHOLE PROCESS STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN!  Somehow the computer doesn't realize that it's getting the plug-in installed and it keeps on asking for it over and over again.  I've tried everything, like closing the browser, making sure all Adobe programs are closed, restarting, etc.  I've done it about 20 times now.  Why isn't it working?  Help?

  • Project plug-ins for adobe acrobat reader

i have project plug-ins for adobe reader, but i dont know anything to that.
i must complete in 2 mon
    anybody know, pls help me:
    1. what soft for programming?
    2. what language?
    3. some Ebook
    Thanks verry much

You may need to ask in the Reader forum. Reader is not Acrobat, but Adobe Reader. Acrobat is the full product. Typically the programming for Adobe products is done with the Adobe JavaScript. I believe that is how most of the plugins are written. You might find it more useful to ask your question in the Scripting forum.

  • Do I need Debenu PDF Aerialist 12 as a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat in order to make a Table of Content to an existing PDF

    Dear colleagues at this forum,
This is my question, i have a big PDF file, 341 pages, another 500 pages, I want to make a table of content, and I read that this Program Debenu PDF Aerialist 12 as a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat does provide this solution, which allows you to quickly build a table of content, however the program is expensive at close to five hundred dollars, i wonder why has not Acrobat Professional put this service included in the program, if one can make a solution of Table of Content and Index, this would be great. Does Acrobat have this function already or do you think that I must buy this program. Yes one can make a table of contents using word program then entering it to the PDF file and linking each line of the table of contents with the relevant page, but this would take a long time, and the solution provided by Debenu sounds like good. I am looking for your advice as i do not know much in this field.
    Best regards,
    Bachar

Acrobat does not have this built in. Normally, the table of contents is prepared at the same time as the document, perhaps in Word, which will use heading styles to do it automatically. Then this is converted to PDF. It is very unusual to do this work late with a PDF, I guess this is why it is not a core Acrobat feature.

  • Has anyone tried this? AutoMailMerge Plug-in for Adobe Acrobat

Mail Merge in Acrobat 9 Professional?
    Hi, All!
I have been told that I can perform a mail merge similar to MS Word from within Acrobat Pro 9. The main document (with merge type fields) needs to be an Acrobat .pdf. The data source can come from an external file. The key is that the merge is performed in Acrobat, not Word.
I have searched throughout Acrobat Pro 9 but have found no functionality that matches my needs. Can anyone help me with this?
I was informed the there is this outside company that has this "AutoMailMerge™ Plug-in for Adobe® Acrobat®"
    http://www.evermap.com/automailmerge.asp
Has anyone tried this? Does it work? Will it do what I'm looking do?
    Please help!
    Thank you!

… in there, you'll find some not-so-known 'tricks' to fasten the process of synching, such as using Markers (not 'on beat' just 'approx').
I tried with my multicam soccer-recordings = no music (aside the referee's whistle ), and FCPX managed indeed to synch this stuff - impressive!

  • Installation Media for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash without Extra Software

Is there a Installation Media format for Adobe Acrobat Reader and Flash which does not have McAfee, Google Chrome or Google Toolbar associated with the installation?  This deployment is for a IT department.  We do not want Google Chrome, Toolbar, or McAfee installed on our workstation, and we want to prevent our users from installing them when performing the upgrades to newer versions.  We want installation media without the extra software for deployment.  Does Adobe supply these?

I have done this.  I just need the refund that was mentioned on the bottom of the page that I have already cancelled on.  None of the other links on that page are relevant and none mention the word "Refund"
Re; The second link, is this a UK 0800 number or a US Number?  I am in the UK.  Will I be on hold for 32 minutes again if I ring this number?

  • Plug-ins for Adobe Acrobat for Android

    Hello,
My company purchased a PDF that has been protected using the FileOpen DRM Encryption program for PDFs (see www.fileopen.com).
On a Windows/Mac system, apparently all I would have to do is try to open the PDF file with Adobe reader, and reader would prompt me to download the FileOpen plugin. At that point, the PDF file could be opened on that computer (and only on that computer). However, since the rights limit file access to one device, we were hoping to read the PDF from a tablet PC to facilitate use of the document on-site.
What I don't know is if this plugin would also work with the Adobe Acrobat Reader X app on an android system. Can this app handle the FileOpen plugin?
Any help with this would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

  • Favorite files for Adobe Acrobat Reader 9?

I am wondering if there is a way to add a favorite files list to one of Acrobat Reader 9's toolbars. I have the recent files list set to the highest it will go (9 or 10), but I often go through quite a few files in the course of a day or two, and the docs that I want to come back to usually are cycled out of that list. I would like to be able to quickly access a few files in particular from a drop down menu. Is there any way to set this up?

In MS Windows Explorer you can create shortcuts to files.

  • Install the Secure Document Plugin for Adobe Acrobat Reader

I'm trying to view secure PDF files downloaded from an organization of which I'm member. My computer is registered with their site as I have linked my computer to my subsciption with their organization. Viewing PDF files downloaded from their site has worked fine for years until a couple of days ago.
Now when I go to open the secure PDF files my web browser automatically opens to this site:
    http://plugin.fileopen.com/Default.aspx?bhcp=1
...which seems to be offering some bundle of plugins that I've downloaded four times now.
But the secure document still won't open.
I uninstalled my old Adobe Reader 9 and installed the latest Adobe Reader X1
I've tried to re-register my computer with the organization's site but it won't allow me to register.
    A prompt appears saying:
The security plug-in required by this command is unavailable.
    DRMRegistration.pdf
    I'm using Mac OS X Version 10.6.8
    Adobe Reader 11.0.0
Any help opening these secure documents would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi!
I am having the same exact problem! Same exact message and everything. Trumanwater were you ever able to get this to work? I have checked the download location for FileOpen and it's listed under plug-ins when I go into Adobe Reader via Finder; however, when I open Reader and go into "About Adobe Plug-Ins...", FileOpen is nowhere to be found and I continue to get the same message you are getting...I'm totally mystified! I'll be contacting my organization as well as FileOpen but figured I would ask you too!
    Thank you!

  • Chrome - Adobe-Acrobat/Reader can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser.

I can't view PDF files via Chrome (it works on Internet Explorer but I prefer Chrome)  -  the error below has arisen recently on Chrome, though I can't see what has changed.
    "Acrobat plug-in
The Adobe-Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit  Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."
I have looked through Forum articles on similar errors and have tried the following(text copied from other Forum entries)
    Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Acrobat)
Repair Adobe Acrobat (from Control Panel
Configure Acrobat  as a helper application: Choose Edit > Preferences., Select Internet on the left., Deselect Display PDF In Browser Using [Acrobat application], and then click OK.Quit Acrobat or Reader
Create a registry item for Acrobat: with Regedit: If the registry item doesn't exist on the system, do the following: Go to Edit > New > Key and create the missing HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe.Go to Edit > New > String Value and name this key (Default).Select (Default), and then go to Edit > Modify. Type the Adobe Acrobat path in the "Value data" for your product.,restart your computer
Repair the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key: Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AcroExch.Document., Right-click AcroExch.Document and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts, Right-click AcroExch.Document.7 and select Delete; make sure that you have the correct key, and click Yes on any prompts. Repair your Acrobat  installation
None has solved the problem. However it still works ok with IE. But I want to stick with Chrome because I find IE is so slow!
I am using Vista, with Adobe Acrobat standard 9.5.2 and Google Chrome version 23.0.1271.64 m which is marked on Chrome as 'up to date'
Does anyone know why I might be getting this error on Chrome but not IE?

I think I have discovered the answer to my own question!
I have disabled Adobe Reader plug-in, and can now see PDFs in Chrome.
(Steps: Chrome Menu, Settings option, Click Advanced Settings link, then Content Settings button, then select Disable Individual Plug-Ins, and a list of plug-ins is offered to enable or disable).
I then get a different result depending on whether or not Chrome PDF viewer is enabled - with it enabled I see the PDF document in Chrome, or with it disabled then the option is offered to download it, but either way I can get it it via Chrome without having to run Internet explorer in another browser window.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader's slow printing

I had this same problem with Tiger when I first got a printer server for my printer (HP Laserjet 1200) but I fixed it by selecting another driver. Basically what happens is that takes like 5 minutes to print the first page, and after the first page it stops and waits a few minutes to print the next page. This only happens for Adobe Acrobat Reader but it prints like normal on Preview and Office. I've tired selecting other drivers, another protocols (Appletalk, IP, Windows), removing and adding the printer again, updating and downgrading drivers, but nothing seems to work.
My little brother (on a iMac 20" Intel Core 2 Duo and Leopard) also has the same problem.
Does anyone else have the same problem or knows how to fix this?

Adobe indicates that Adobe Reader 8.1.1 requires an update to be fully compatible with OS X 10.5. They are estimating the update will be ready in January, 2008. See http://www.adobe.com/go/leopardfaq They do not indicate what conflicts there are.
