I have about 14,000 images on LR 2..3. I use a Mac Pro with Leopard OS. Periodically, when I have not been really awake, I have downloaded files off my CF card into a file and not changed the setting to "one file", so I get the files in a defaulted dated subdirectory beneath my target directory. Sometimes when I try to drag and drop them back into the target directory, they go. Sometimes they do not. How can I be sure to get them into the target directory every time and how do I get rid of the empty sub directory?

To move files you need to be grab the image part of the thumbnail not the frame. A folder can be removed by clicking on the minus sign that appears on the Folders header bar on the left side panel. You should also be aware that Lightroom will only delete folders that are truly empty. If anything is left in a folder Lightroom will display an alert to to notify you and remove the folder from the catalog, but it will still remain on your hard disk.

Confusion on iTunes Plus Files and Computer Authorization

I wonder if someone could help me alleviate some confusion surrounding iTunes plus files and computer authorizations. I personally also have iTunes match on my account.
Reading online it appears that all iTunes Plus files do not not have DRM. I have this setup on my main iMac in my house. Now, I am copying music to my wife's laptop via home sharing. She is not using iTunes match because she has her own iTunes account. The home sharing is using her iTunes account. What is confusing me is that her laptop asking me to authorize the computer for playback of the audio files under my iTunes account. Why is this occuring if there is no DRM on the files?
I understand that I need to authorize machines for my iTunes match account, but these all should theoretically be DRM files that I am dragging and dropping via home sharing to her machine. Can anyone clarify what is going on in this situation?

Go to Store -> View Account. Log in to your account and click Purchase History. Then click Report a Problem. Then choose your upgrade purchase and explain your situation.

Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the latest version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 on Novemder 18th 2014.
Further updates to LR 4 were stopped when LR 5 was released on June 9th 2013. No further updates for bug fixes and new camera support.
Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced into the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was discontinued.
You can use the Adobe DNG program (free download for the package) to convert the Nef (raw) files from your Nikon D750 to the Adobe DNG format which will permit you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow for the processing of raw files with outdated versions of LR and ACR.
You can also update the ACR plugin for PS CS6 to version 8.7 which can also work with the raw files from the D750. For direct support in Lightroom you will need to upgrade (paid) to version 5.7.

Have you verified that the applications you are trying to install are supported by your current wireless provider? Unlocked devices from one provider may not have full functionality on another network.

Step by Step Guide Details for RFC to File and File to RFC scenario

Good day to you. I am tyring to develop some scenarios based on RFC adaptor. so i want to start up with basic scenarios like RFC to File scenario(Here i just want to pull some data from SAP using RFC and put it in destination folder as an text file) and FILE to RFC scenario (Here i just want to take some data from the file and update into SAP).
For doing these scenarios i would like to request you people to send me the step by step guide which explains me about the complete steps of configurations required to do the RFC to FILE scenario and FILE to RFC scenario.
I found some scenarios and i am in confused state. so i request you to please put your experience to help me out.

I don't know your scenario and your ECC and PI versions but I learned how to use ABAP Proxy more than 1 year ago with the following tutorial:

The way to develop ABAP Proxys has changed a little if your PI is 7.1. In the ECC side, the transaction SPROXY looks much better too if you have a recent version of the ECC.

I've found that SDN Document. Maybe the scenario is not the most simple to start with ABAP Proxy but is very well documented and is for PI 7.1. The document also handles the inbound and outbound proxys

Understanding compile errors due to copying code from a doc file and not a txt file

SITUATION:
My instructor for my micro-controller class refuses to save sample code to a text file and instead saves it to a word document file instead. When I open up the doc file and copy/paste the code into my IDE "CodeWarrior" it causes errors upon compile time.
I am having to rewrite all the code into a text editor and then copy/paste it into my IDE.
MY UNDERSTANDING:
I was told to always save code as a text file because when you save code as a word document file it will bring in unwanted characters when your copy/pasting the code into your IDE for compiling.
Their are students in my class using the schools computers running "Windows" that copied and pasted the code into CodeWarrior and it compiled fine. This is not only frustrating but confusing. However, I know their are students in class with "PC's" running windows that had the same trouble I did so I know it's not a Mac issue.
Also I am running "Parallels" because my IDE for this micro-controller "Code Warrior" is not avaiable for my OS. I realize there are several IDE's out there that require "Windows OS" in general but I know this situation is not a Mac issue or Parallels issue or even a Windows issue. It's purly an issue of formatting that is done between the file being copied and the target program or so I'm understanding.
Can someone exlain to me in better words or perhaps provide a resource, documentation or article that will enlighten me on this issue. I would like to better state my case next time. I'm tired of being told this is a MAC issue and that Windows is just plain better.

The problem is (as you suggest) almost certainly a gremlin issue - characters that for one reason or another Code Warrior cannot interpret correctly. Why it happens to you and not others is a different matter. That could mean that the pofessor uses fonts that are not on your machine, or that he is using a different version of word, or it could be in how you access the data. For instance, if the prof posts this word doc on the web you may get different results if you download the file and open it in Word as opposed to opening it directly from a web browser.
The sure-fire solution is to download TextWrangler and copy the code in there first. TW has a number of tools for finding and removing unpleasant characters. it adds a step, but... you could also try resaving the doc file as a plain text file from within word.

Sharing an editable file and sending the app to the publisher

Hello. I am a little confused about some parts of working with apps in dps. We are two persons working together, and therefore, of course, we would like to share the apps we create. But from InDesign it seems that the files can only go one way, and that is up in the cloud. I found out that I can download the .folio (even though it is very cryptic to do so) from Folio Producer, but I cannot download anything editable, which will be necessary if we are to collaborate between more computers. In addition, it would be very convenient to be able to share a file in the process of making it, before I upload it, select icon pictures etc. and press that blue publish button. This is a very time-consuming process.
Also we would like to send the apps to the publishers that we are working for, so they can upload them with their Apple account, not ours. We do not want to pay monthly for their books. If we send the .folio file (the one I got by pressing publish in Folio Producer and then export) to them, would they be able to publish the app by uploading it to Apple?
I should mention that I am only using the free version of Creative Cloud. I don't know if this has any limitations relevant for these problems. I know that I can pay extra to be able to share in the cloud, but that does not change the fact, I think, that you cannot edit the files that you download. I am not even able to edit my own files uploaded and downloaded with the same computer and the same account.

Can you explain how you currently collaborate when designing a book that you can't do with DPS? You may just need some guidance on best practices with DPS. DPS has several built in collaboration features.
You can create a folio and share it with another user. That user can contribute articles to your folio and view your content both on device and on the desktop.
You can create a folio, builda single edition app, sign it with a developer certificate and another user can load it on their device for viewing.
You can create Indesign files and share them with another user via dropbox or sneaker net. That other person can create folios with these files for no charge and view on device and desktop.
Create a folio, publish it and share the web viewer URL with another user so they can view it in a browser.
About the only collaboration mechanism DPS doesn't support is the generatio of a folio that can be emailed to another user for viewing.

Read from csv file and plot particular columns

I`m a new user of Labview and here it comes...my first major problem.
Maybe this has been discussed before. I’ve made a search to solve my problem first but I couldn`t find anything helpful so I `ve decided to post a new message.
So here is my problem:
I`m working in a small semiconductor lab where different types of nitrides are grown using proprietary reactor. The goal is to read the collected csv files from each growth in Labview and plot the acquired data in appropriate graphs.
I have a bunch of csv files and I have to make a Labview program to read them.
The first part of my project I`ve decided to be displaying the csv file (growth log file) under labview (which I think works fine).
The second one is to be able to plot particular columns from the recipe in graphs in Labview (that one actually gives me a lot of trouble):
1. Timestamp vs Temperature /columns B and D/
2. Timestamp vs Gas flow /columns L to S/
3. Timestamp vs Pressure /columns E,K,T,U,V/
I`ve got one more problem. How can I convert the Timestamp shown in csv file to human readable date in labview? This actually is a big problem, because the timestamp is my x axis and I want to know at what time a particular process took place and I also want to be able to see the converted timestamp when displaying csv file at first. I`ve read a lot about time stamping in excel and timestamp in labview but I`m still confused how to convert it in my case.
I don`t have problems displaying csv file under Labview. My problems are with the timestamp and the graphs.
Sorry for my awful English. I hope you can understand my problems since English is not my mother language.

I have a code converting xl timestamp to time and using Index Array traying to grab a particular column out of it but the attached file is written in strings so I guess I have to redo it in array but I don`t know how.Would you help me with this one?

PS elements saves pic as a blank file and I cannot open it

Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me.
I am using Photoshop Elements 8 and I'm not sure what happened (or what I did), but suddenly the files I save (save-as, i rename retouched files) started saving as blank thumbnails. I cannot open them, and the properties list the type of file as "File" (although I was saving them .jpeg).
Also, the size of the blank thumbnails is about the same as the original picture (a little larger cause it's retouched; which is normal).
The file still saves as a blank if I change the name and if I try changing the format (.bmp, .jpeg., etc)
I'm using Windows Vista, if it matters.
I'm attaching a screencap of what it looks like in the folder and the file properties that come up
Let me know if I should provide any other information and I'd appreciate any and all help. This is the only PS I have access to right now and it's painful to have folders of pics and not be able to do anything with them.

It looks like like windows got confused because you have periods in the file names.
If you take one of your saved files and add a .jpg at the end elements should open the file.
It's probably a good idea not to use periods in file names except for the file extension.
Using an underscore instead of periods is a better way to go.
It also seems that in later versions of elements and photoshop one has to be careful about using periods in the file names or the program won't save the files right
which was not the case in old versions of elements and photoshop.
The trick to saving a remamed file with periods is to reselect jpg from the dropdown after renaming the file so the proper extension is added.
That being said i've avoided using periods in file names for many years just to avoid any possible problems.

Tints vs. transparency; printing indesign file - so confused now

Hello!
I'm still learning indesign so i'm definitely not a pro. I've been working on an assignment which consists of creating compositions in indesign. The indesign file basically has text, lines and colored areas.
I've just realized that I am only allowed to use a couple of colors and their tints. This whole time i've been using color and working with its transparency. Is that remotely the same thing? I am not sure how to get the exact same color i've produced when working with the transparency of a color as a tint. (I'm not suppose to be using transparency yet... XD) Please help.
Also, once the above is figured out, what is the correct way to export this file as a pdf? Finally, I also need to export all 12 compositions as a 72dpi jpeg to upload online-- how do i do that? The file in indesign is a cmyk file and i'm pretty sure it exports as a cmyk pdf which is okay since i'm printing the pdf. The jpeg part really throws me off though.
So far, this is what i'm 100% sure on:
Indesign:
File> Adobe PDF presets> High Quality Print> give the file a name and save
then
this is where i get confused - do I changed the standard options and compability options as well? what about the compression? i've basically printed so many variations of the project playing with the above (from what i've read) and have reached a point in which i'm no longer sure what the correct colors of my file are once exported as a pdf.

Thanks for explaining your answer in simpler terms. I now understand what you meant. If i'm understanding things correctly, it's not good to use tints over other colors/objects yet it's alright to use them when they are on white backgrounds. Also, it's best not to use tints when it comes to overprinting; transparency is best.

I decided to export the indesing file under Adobe Pdf Presets> High Quality Print. I didn't change any of the standard settings. With regards to the jpgs, I used the advice recommended - File > Export, choose JPEG, 72 ppi. I do have one large question though...

How to upload file and put in BDC, need sample func specs to practice on...

I do not have anything to do as of the moment, so I want to practice BDC on, lets say SU01. I have seen existing BDC programs here and I am confused as to why some are using read dataset, open dataset, etc. and others are not using them at all. Anyway, what I want to do is to create a flatfile and upload it then populate the fields in t-code SU01.
Also, if its not too much, I want some functional specs or requirements that I can practice here in the office:)

Hi,
In order to practice BDC you better go through recording first through the Tcode SHBD. There you provide the name for the recording and also the Tcode you want to use for BDC. Once you complete with the recording you press the back button and click on program button in the application toolbar. You get the complete program written to execute the BDC in both session method and also Call transaction Method.
BDC can be done using some flat files in presentation server as well as application server. Data sets will be used for loading the file from application server. For presentation server functions like Ws_Upload and WS_download will be used.
So if you want to create Flat file in presentation server upload the same through BDC you use functions BDC_open group for opening a session,BDC_insert group to insert the flat file and bdc_close group to close after completion of the upload of data.

File and FTP Question

We have a situation where a bank places an EDI document on their FTP site and then we go and download the file and process it. We are SOA Suite customers and have been using the tools for over a year. My question is would it be recommended to tackle this problem with BPEL or ESB and the ftp adapter? The bank doesn't require any kind of acknowledgement, but I've never dealt with EDI docs before and thought B2B might do a better and more seemless job of processing the EDI doc. My other concern is that B2B is overkill for this scenario since it isn't transaction based meaning the bank will place their file a couple of times a day and not everytime there's a transaction. Hope this makes sense. Be happy to provide more info as I'm just getting started.

Thank you for the reply. My confusion is that I don't really have a trading partner to setup or specify communication. I simply need to poll an FTP site for an EDI document and process it, basically a one-sided effort. Is this possible with B2B? There is essentially no interaction with the bank and no acknowledement that needs to be sent.

Dear Java Experts,
There appears to be no limit to my confusion about some things with Java. The thing is
that the documentation is so very, very large I simply get lost :-( Here are a few questions
maybe you can help me with.
1) Assume I create a JAR that in it has a few resources, like for example a couple of JPG
images. Is it possible to copy such a resource to the file system and if yes, how is this
best done?
2) Talking about files, the File class has some nifty methods. There is a nice method for
creating directories, another for checking accessrights, another to check latest change, but
on the subject of copying, how is one supposed to copy one file from a give directory to
another in Java?
3) The last question...from what I read, the System class used to have a getenv method
which now has been depracted. Is it possible from a Java application to read an arbitrary
environment variable, let's call it FOO at any point? What is the proposed way of doing this?
I do apologize for my silly questions, but I have tried to read about this and I just drown in
information. At the end of the day sometimes it's better just to ask.

(1) Do mean copying the JAR or the JPG files? If it's the JAR, you can copy that to any directory you wish. If you want to get at the JPG files, you'll have to open the JAR with something like *nix tar or Windows WinZip and extract the .jpg files from the JAR into a directory of your choice.
A JAR, after all, is just a ZIP file with a manifest.
(2) There's no copy method in java.io.File, as you've noticed. You have to do it the hard way: open and read the source file, create the destination file, and write the contents of the source file into the destination.
Here's a snippet that does it using classes from the java.nio.channels package:

War files and server classpath on 6.1

We used to have all of the jsp's and html exploded in a WebApp and the
          WebApp just used the same classes and property files the server was using,
          now we put all these files in a war file.
          My question is do I have to take the server classes and property files and
          put them in the war file also. Or is there another way in which I can still
          use the same server classes and property files. This is causing alot of
          headache trying to keep theses classes and property files in sync especially
          if we have to move them from one server to another, which each server having
          its on property files.
          Any help would be appreciated.

What server classes are you using? They will still be available from any
          weblogic server instance.
          What property files are you using? Are these your own properties or weblogic
          properties? Are you confusing these with web.xml and weblogic.xml that live
          under WEB-INF? Managed servers don't need a config.xml file since they
          obtain all their configuration info from the admin server at startup.

Open a bunch of .au files and tracks (project for university)

Hello guys,
at first, forgive my total noobishnes but I have no idea who to ask. So, we have a project to create a short audio book (~20min) over at my university. A guy recorded the 4 tracks at our "media lab" with Final Cut Pro and exported them to a network hard drive. Once I looked at them I was very confused how to open all those files. I know how to handle easy .wav files and that's pretty much what I expected but now I have all those raw files (I guess?) and have no clue how to import them into Adobe Audition with the 4 tracks so I can edit them properly because all the .au files are just 5 seconds long.
I guess there is an easy solution because the guy asked me specificially with which software we will cut (so I hope he's not the problem but me) and since the university has licenses for adobe audition the answer was pretty simple.

EDIT: Alright, thank you all. I talked to another guy there and he exported the tracks in .wav files. He said to me that he didn't have a clue why his colleague did this stuff but now I can edit. Thank you!
Windows won't show the file size in detail so i hovered over them and made some screenshots. Every .au file is just 1 mb and 5 seconds long and you can see the rest in the screenshots. I am not 100% certain if it was FCP but it was definitely a Mac and a Mac program, so I just assumed it was Fcp.

The big problem is, I can open the au files that is not the issue but they are a total mess. They have the complete wrong order and I have no clue how to put them in the right one (and I can't move ~400 shorts files in the right place). Is there any trick? To my knowledge the software only knows how to put all those files in the right order if you have a session file or .aup (like in audacity). But if there is a trick that would be the solution to my problem.
