Filling multiple instance subform from XFDF

I am trying to figure out how to fill a PDF Form from XFDF file, so that if some group of data occurs more than once, the corresponding PDF subform automatically duplicates itself as many times as it is necessary. I read the XML Forms Object Model and Data Model references (field, value, bind, occur, match, ref and all that stuff) but can you provide a working sample (both PDF and XFDF file) that does the job ?
Also, I intend to do this by calling O2 Solutions' PDF4NET library, but that's another story, first I need to make it work from Acrobat.
Regards,
Goce Smilevski.

You won't be able to get this to work with XFDF. XFDF is a technology used with AcroForms (forms created in Acrobat). AcroForms do not have the capability to have a dynamic number of subform instances based on the data. For that you need an XFA form (a form created in Designer). But the way data is formated in an XFDF file is not compatible with an XFA form, so if you have an HREF to an XFA form in your XFDF and open it, the PDF will open, but there will be not data populated in it.

  • Running multiple instances from same oracle home

    Hi Gurus,
    I am preparing for OCA 11g examination. I had a question about running multiple instances from same oracle home. While reading the book I came across a statement about database control which says "If there are several database instances running off the same Oracle home, then each will have its own Database Control instance".
    Now I assume that this statement implies multiple instances accessing the same physical database (which as per my knowledge can happen only in case of a RAC).
    I am not able to understand how exactly can you have multiple database instances in a single oracle home. I have installed Oracle 11g on my computer whose oracle home is +"D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1"+; now this directory houses all the binaries (executables and folders like admin,bin, etc) for the oracle instance that I have installed (the instance name is ocp1). Now if I am to install or create another Oracle Instance (say ocp2) in the same home, wont there be a conflict of binaries of the two instances in the same home ?
    Basically,it makes sense if db_1 folder is further split into multiple folders, one for each instance (for example, one for ocp1 & one for ocp2); each of these folders will then contain the binary files, libraries,etc for its own instance; but, this is not the case, here db_1 houses all the binaries directly under it ...
    The other question which stems from the statement I mentioned above is that if having multiple instances running from same oracle home accessing the same physical database, can this arrangement be called RAC at all; or does RAC dictate that you cannot have multiple instances that are accessing the same database have to be installed on physically separate machines and so you cannot have two RAC instances (accessing same physical database) installed on the same computer ??
    I hope my questions are not too much confusing ... !!
    Cheers,
    Sudripta

    Hello,
    "If there are several database instances running off the same Oracle home, then each will have its own Database Control instance".This is true, and also means each instance will have its separate database (i.e. dbf files etc.) & separate DB Control. Usually in this case you create several instances on the same node.
    Now I assume that this statement implies multiple instances accessing the same physical database (which as per my knowledge can happen only in case of a RAC).You are correct about RAC where several instances (usually running on separate nodes) access the RAC.
    More info:
    1 Oracle Home - 1 Database - 1 SID is possible.
    1 Oracle Home - Many Databases - Many SID is possible.
    1 Oracle HOme - 1 Database - Multiple SID is possible and this is called RAC.

  • How do I prevent a user from opening multiple instances on the same computer?

    On the site oldnavyweekly.com there is a .swf that prevents users from opening multiple instances of the site at the same time on the same computer. If you open the site, and try to open it a second time in another window, it won't load. You can't open the site again until the first window is closed. How did they implement this?
    From my analysis it is NOT:
    1. Cookies - The block still takes place if you try opening it in IE and also try opening it in Firefox simultaneously.
    2. Flash Cookies - The block still takes place if I disable flash cookies.
    3. IP Based Block - You are not blocked if you open the site on two separate computers with the same outbound IP address. From my analysis, their server does not assist in the block at all.
    It seems as if their .swf is creating some kind of global system-wide object that can be detected in other instances of the application on the same machine. How did they implement this?
    Thanks!

    you're welcome.
    actually, unless you take an extra step, the first opened swf will close.  if you want the 2nd to close, the initial receiving lc will send a message to sender that causes the sender to close.

  • How to reference multiple instances of the same Java object from PL/SQL?

    Dear all,
    I'm experimenting with calling Java from PL/SQL.
    My simple attempts work, which is calling public static [java] methods through PL/SQL wrappers from SQL (and PL/SQL). (See my example code below).
    However it is the limitation of the public static methods that puzzels me.
    I would like to do the following:
    - from PL/SQL (in essence it needs to become a forms app) create one or more objects in the java realm
    - from PL/SQL alter properties of a java object
    - from PL/SQL call methods on a java object
    However I fail to see how I can create multiple instances of an object and reference one particular object in the java realm through public static methods.
    My current solution is the singleton pattern: of said java object I have only 1 copy, so I do not need to know a reference to it.
    I can just assume that there will only ever be 1 of said object.
    But I should be able to make more then 1 instance of an object.
    To make it more specific:
    - suppose I have the object car in the java realm
    - from PL/SQL I want to create a car in the java realm
    - from PL/SQL I need to give it license plates
    - I need to start the engine of a scpecific car
    However if I want more then 1 car then I need to be able to refrence them. How is this done?
    Somehow I need to be able to execute the following in PL/SQL:
    DECLARE
    vMyCar_Porsche CAR;
    vMyCar_Fiat CAR;
    BEGIN
    vMyCar_Porsche = new CAR();
    vMyCar_Fiat = new CAR();
    vMyCar_Porsche.setLicensePlates('FAST');
    vMyCar_Porsche.startEngine();
    vMyCar_Fiat.killEngine();
    END;
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Ruben

    You can do this by manually creating a new iterator binding in your binding tab.
    So instead of dragging the VO directly to the page, go to the binding tab, add a new executable iterator binding, and point to that one from your ELs in the page itself.

  • Log messages from multiple instances in single file.

    Hi!
    I have a requirement that i need to log messages from muliple instances of the same object in a file. The new file will be created every day. Likewise, multiple objects might have various instances each.
    One class
    ->multiple instances
    -> log message stored in single file.
    Note :
    I am using the Message driven bean. I need to log from the bean class. JDK 1.3
    If u could help me out that would be great.

    As long as they are all from the same OS program (a single Java VM), that's OK - you can use Log4j, and use a rotating file logger.
    If you point two different virtual machine processes at the same file, one may have it open when the other is trying to rotate it, and your rotation may fail (at best) and/or you may lose the old log (the worst case).
    If you need to collect log messages from multiple processes (or even multiple machines), use a syslog-based logger (Log4j has a SyslogAppender) or use Log4j's SocketAppender to write to a log4j-builtin log listener (SocketNode).

  • PDF form template displaying multiple sets of data loaded from xfdf

    Hello
    I would like to use PDF Forms with data stored in xfdf files.
    Is it possible to create pdf form (template) for displaying and printing multiple sets of data stored in xfdf?
    For example: pdf form contains 2 sets of data. Form field names:  F_1 and F_2.
    I have 7 sets od data. All I need is to create pdf and xfdf that can be displayed in PDF reader and printed
    as document consisting of 4 the same pages containing different data in form fields loaded from xfdf file.
    (something similar to Mail merge in MS Office Word).
    How it would be done? Is it possible to make such pdf, xfdf?
    If yes, where I can find examples (tutorial) of creating such forms, please?
    Thanks.
    J. Jas

    It is possible but not just a simple import of data.
    Each form field in the multiple page PDF would need a unique name not repeated on another page of the PDF. Fortunately the Acrobat form standard includes the "template" object and this object can be spawned or used to add a new page with the form fields automatically renamed with a prefix string of the page number and template added to each form field on the new page. So if one were to import a row from your tab delimited file into the template, one could then spawn a new page from the template with the data and rename the fields so there would be no conflict of like named fields.

    With newer versions of Acrobat there is a mail merge feature.

  • Multiple instances cause bsod when i click restart from a firefox crash

    i tend to have multiple instances of firefox open. right click -> open in new window. sometimes lots of them. lots. as high as 80-100 in the past.
    the problem work like this. at some time firefox crashes. sometimes i get video distortion on an instance or instances.
    when i restart firefox, i get oops something went wrong screen. i can restart my sessions or start anew.
    occasionally, very occasionally, when i select restart my computer blue screens.
    this is from the event log:
    0x100000be (0xbd3de000, 0x1e79e021, 0xb07c3b38, 0x0000000c)
    the computer is xp sp3, up to date with patches
    i have tried several different video cards with no change in behavior
    i have 4gb of memory on an intel i5 series processor.
    of note: the number of instances that i can open before firefox starts going bonkers has been going down since versions late teens or 20 something.
    this is getting annoying because this is the only blue screen i get. and it only happens when i click that button.

    Trying to load 80 windows at once certainly sounds like a challenge. When you use multiple tabs in a smaller number of windows, Firefox only loads the active tab in each window, which reduces the load.
    I don't wish you any more blue screens, but could you keep a digital camera or phone camera handy the next time you try this and grab a pic of the specific of the error? Hopefully that will provide more information about the type of failure.
    Meanwhile, I suggest backing up sessionstore.js/sessionstore.bak in a safe location and restoring fewer windows to get back in business.
    You can swap in the old session file later, or
    one of the data mining techniques in these posts to rescue the URLs from your backed up files (assuming you're keeping these windows open for later reference and don't require a live session to be maintained):

  • Disable parallel slaves from multiple instances in RAC.

    Hi All,
    By default while using parallel execution in RAC slaves are spead accross multiple instances.
    Why can I ensure slaves are allocated to only on that node where query is executed.
    Basically to avoid interconnect trafic.
    Thanks,
    Raja.

    It would cripple RAC, wouldn't it. It would make any query on any gv$ view impossible.
    Even if it was possible, it would make your database unsupported.
    Apart from that, it doesn't make sense too. You want to distribute resources, and to run on the server which is least loaded.

    Hi all,
    I have a class that provides a service, however there can multiple instances of this object and I need to retrieve all instances of the service. A simplified version of my function is:
    public MyService getMyService() throws Exception
    if (_myService == null)
    myService = (MyService)getBeanContextServices().getService(bccs, this, myService.class, null, new MyServiceRevokedListener());
    return _myService;
    I guess that I need to return a Collection of MyService objects from this function. When I call getService(...) there is only on instance returned (not surprising really). I have been searching through the documentation for a function that will return all instances of a service. This sounds like functionality that I would have expected to be provided by the API so before I write application specific code, I was wondering if anyone out there could offer some advice.
    Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Chris

    You mean likepublic MyService[] getMyServices()...? If you're looking for an API that returns a set of resources, try java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.

  • Submitting multiple instance from 1 screen

    Hi,
    Is there a possibility of submitting multiple instances from a single submit from a screen(jsp/presentation).
    I know each instance is visible in the Inbox seperately. But is there any way, that we can display all the instances values in a tabular format and then have a check box to select the instances that we need to submit. We will also have some text box for each row allowing user to update/change some value for an instance?
    I know this looks like a complicated requirement, but I guess this might be possible. I am thinking of creating an array of instances and then iterate through that array in the custom JSP to display the values in tabular format.
    Any other suggestion would be helpful.
    Regards

    Sorry - probably just me, but not sure I follow you.
    I think this thread concerns hitting multiple instances that already exist in a process.
    I could be wrong - frequently am, but I usually think of a Split-N in the context of:
    1) when you have a batch of things already in the instance and you want to split into their individual items (e.g. order -> individual order lines) and then rejoin them back into the original context (the order in this example)
    2) when you want to dynamically create a committe (created inside the Split-N) of several people that you want to approve (inside an interactive activity assigned to specific participants) and determine how the committee voted (in the Join)
    3) when you have a request for quote (e.g. send RFQ's to multiple "suppliers" and then vote for the low cost supplier).

  • Transformation from multiple elements to multiple instances of same element

    I have to do a transformation where some elements in the source side has to be mapped into multiple instances of an element which has name-value pair elements.
    For example source has
    element1
    element2
    element3
    element4
    Target has
    elementspecgroup (0--infinity cardinality)
    element-name
    element-value
    so the mapping will be multiple instances of elementspecgroup
    elementspecgroup
    ist instance: "element1"
    value of element1
    2nd instance: "element2"
    value of element1
    and so on.
    Can somebody please give me a hint how to achieve it.
    Thanks.

    can you show me source-payload and target-payload?

  • Multiple instances of Word launching when opening files from Explorer window

    I am seeing an odd behavior with Word 2010 (32 bit) that I could not replicate in earlier versions of Word.
    Here are the steps:
    Note: When performing these steps, I am on a 32 bit Windows 7 machine. Word is not running yet, and the Task Manager dialog is open with the processes sorted in reverse alpha order so that WinWord.exe will appear at the top.
    1. Go to a folder containing a set of word documents or templates (all are in either .docx or .dotx format) in Windows Explorer.
    2. Select a group of files (I am selecting 4 .docx files in my tests).
    3. Right-click and select Open.
    4. Four instances of WINWORD.EXE appear in the Task Manager (one of them then goes away, leaving only three instances running, but I think that's beside the point).
    Could someone shed light on why this is happening with Word 2010 and if there's anything that can be done to make it "behave" and open only one instance?
    PS - The templates contain no code, and no add-ins are loaded at the time that I perform these steps. Also, all Word and Office updates have been installed on the machine.
    Thanks

    Koero, did you try the registry hack proposed in this forum?
    I started getting multiple instances of Word 2010 two days ago in Windows 7 on my company PC after a reboot following a Windows updates pushed out by the IT department.
    This also happened immediately after a Windows update on May
    27, 2014, but somehow I was able to stop that behavior then.  That fix happened after I restored a old copy of Normal.dotm but evidently that
    was not the solution because restoring that copy did not fix the problem today.
    The fix suggested by
    peebs7384 in this forum on April 19, 2012 of changing the "Lay
    out this document" setting did not work on my PC.
    One support person who has both the 2010 and 2013 versions indicated that he also gets multiple instances with 2010 but not with 2013.
    I plan to ask my IT department to attempt a fix tomorrow and will suggest that they try registry hack posted in this forum by
    kit_jj on Aug 16, 2012 (based on Pierre's posting) (thanks
    kit_jj and Pierre).
    By the way,
    kit_jj's posting has only 1 vote & I would had hoped to see more votes.  Now that I look more closely I see that this solution was "Proposed
    as answer by kit_jj" himself.  At least others have posted comments that indicate that fixes posted by
    kit_jj & Pierre have worked (at least partially).
    Any ideas as to why this started happening again?

  • Selecting instance from multiple instances

    AC2.0
    I have several instances of a movieclip, named p1 through
    p20, inside another movie clip. The instances get dragged around
    the screen when a user clicks on one: (see code)
    I would like to change the variable NOMEN as soon as someone
    selects which instance to drag around. The problem is that I can't
    determine which instance a user starts to drag. The instances are
    literally jumbled together in a pile. A user comes along, and
    decides to "Drag" one instance away from the pile. The user will
    click-Down on his mouse and drag. So what I would like to do is, on
    that downward-click to change the variable "Nomen", so that the
    "Drag" can begin. Is that possible?

    I've ditched the above idea and now I'm just trying to tile a
    new mc in a nice box pattern (row/columns), only the function i'm
    using seems to ignore the boundaries of the stage height and width,
    and actually begins the tiling mid-stage. I was wondering if anyone
    could tell why?

  • Multiple instances of explorer.exe running in task manager

    I got a dropper trojan virus on my computer that microsoft security essencials do not recognized but after running "superantispyware" antivirus I got discover it and delete it. After that, I still could find the infected files in my
    administrator folders as .temp files and I just erased them. After that my computer started crashing and runing several instances of explorer.exe in the task manager with different memory values, some of them ascending to 350,000. I have set up my computer
    to run just the basic services, I have tried windows in safe mode, ran other antivirus programs but still it is performing the same. As far as I have noticed other unusual process present are host.dll, dllhost.exe, and logonUI.exe. Any idea about it? Thanks
    in advance for your help.

    I have the same issue. It started about a month ago when I was filling out a form online and had to quit and close the window.  My system got very buggy (can't remember details), flashing, then really slow.  Found a bunch of explorer.exe instances
    in Task Manager.  Ran Security Essentials and several other anti-viruses, nothing found.
    Running Win7 Pro, sp1, 64-bit, CoreI5, 4Gb Ram
    Restored system to a previous version, didn't work
    Restored last system image, didn't work
    Used System Repair Disk - ran Memory Diagnostic.  Said it would give me report after reboot.  Never saw a report after reboot. But only one instance of explorer.exe in task manager at that point.  Took disk out, rebooted normally.  After
    20 minutes or so, the multiple instances were back.
    Used Repair Disk again, ran Memory Diagnostic. Again, no report after reboot (leaving disk in machine both times), but only one instance running again.
    Did this a few times with the same result, so now leaving disk in system and always boot from it.
    Ran Security Essentials again, found that rovnix virus, removed, ran again, found it again.
    Ran search for instances and found many.  Here's an example:
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe
    C:\Windows\winsxs\wow64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17567_none_b9fc4815c4e292b5
    C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.21669_none_b0333b22a99da332
    C:\Windows\winsxs\wow64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.21669_none_ba87e574ddfe652d
    C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17567_none_afa79dc39081d0ba
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64
    When I check properties on the now single one on Task Manager, this is what it shows:
    C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-explorer_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17567_none_afa79dc39081d0ba\explorer.exe
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe
    I was going to reinstall entire system, but was from an Anytime Upgrade which now says it's invalid.  Much more to story on that (calls to MS support, etc.).
