    Hi,
I have upgrade my filr 1.0.1 to 1.1 small deployment after upgrade goes correctly all desktop client delete all folders and start resync from zero. This behavior is work by design or is an issue?
    Thanks

What happened to Snow Leopard's desktop pictures after upgrade to Mavericks?
New OS X versions sometimes comes with new OS X default desktop pictures.
I'm sure you can find them on the Internet or better ones here and elsewhere
    http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/downloads/date/widescreen/1920x1200/index1.ht ml
Your personal desktop pictures should be still of course in your iPhoto and Pictures folder you might have to retarget them again in System Preferences.
If you can't find the pictures, you can install Snow Leopard onto a external drive and boot the computer and get them, or find out where they are located and just copy them.

  • 1.1 Upgrade question

I have a large deployment with 2 filr appliances 1 search and one mysql. My question is can the vastorage for the filr appliance still be on a nfs mount? I already have vastorage for the mysql appliance on a separate disk. reading through the upgrade guide it seems to only point to the mysql appliance for no nfs.
    Thank you

The shared storage (/vashare) can still be on NFS, and even CIFS is
supported now. But /vastorage is no longer supported on NFS and must
    be on a local disk.

  • Missing NetworkFolder by 2 users after upgrade 1.1

After the upgrade form 1.0.1 tot 1.1 some users "lost" one specific netfolder (the complete folder not a subfolder).
File rights are give by a AD group.
All the other users whitin this group still see the netfolder.
There are no changes at AD file rights or group memberships.
Users have access to the folder using the drive mapping at there client.
    Taken actions:
    - checked groupmembership in Filr
    - removed and added the security group in the Netfolder config.
    - removed user form Filr and recreated him through the ldap sync.
    - checked the Famt and Filr log at the Filr Appliance no error's to this user or folder
    Any idea for throubleshooting?
    Regards,
    Sander

I removed the networkfolder and recreated him, unfortunatly no result.....

Note that there are two files which need to be downloaded and
applied in the correct order with the Security Update 1 patch as
a prerequisite. Please read the download page before trying to

  • Error: Reconfiguring the Filr Server Failed

I am in the midst of my first install of Filr appliance. I am doing a Large Installation of version 1. 0.1.
All appliances are running (MySQL X 1 and Search Appliance X 2)
I have configured Mysql and Search appliance as described in the Installation and Configuration Guide.
When I run the Filr "Large Deployment" Server Configuration Wizard, the following happens-
    1. It starts with the Database dialog box and I am able to connect to the Mysql server- it goes through the screen,
    2. Then it prompts for Search Appliance- I key in the Search appliance details,
    3. Prompts for Default Locale- I select English-- after a few minutes it gives me an error Reconfiguring the Filr server failed
I have tried redoing the Filr environment, but still the same issue.
The System Service- area shows the Novell Filr status as blank (no status)- is this normal
the logs indicate -HTTP ERROR 500, Problem accessing /vaconfig/system/logs/filr.zip. Reason: Unable to copy zipped log files to stream.
One more thing, Where do the filr logs file reside??? which folders, I am hoping the logs will give me some clue.
    Can someone please advise.
    thanks
    Tom.

  • Mac OS X 10.10 and Filr 1.1

Anybody else having issues with 10.10 and Filr 1.1? On one of my desktops I can't get the icon to load on the menu bar with the new client. The old client opens fine but won't sync items. On my laptop the icon shows on the menu but won't sync items up. Items down look ok from what I see.

My 10.10 machine at home appears to work fine. Went up to the icon to open console and it showed there was an update. Upgraded from there and reopened with the new app. Is there a proper way to uninstall the client other than trashing the app? I imagine there are some back components that are installed for the sync engine to work properly.

  • WEBDAV performance - Filr 1.1

    Hi, folks!
I configured Webdav-Interface of Filr 1.1 with basic access authentification. The connection is secured by TLS 1.0 (Filr Poodle patches are active).
Uploading a large amount of small files results in very low upload speed (maybe due to the larger amount of overhead?). Are there any advices to improve webdav performance?
    Client Environment:
    Win7 Sp1 Prof 64bit
    M$-Webdav-Client included in filemanager
Proxy configuration in Internet Explorer is disabled!
    Cheers, k.

  • Filr 1.1 File Synchronization Behavior

I am thinking about upgrading from Filr 1.0.1 to Filr 1.1.
The minor issue that I ran into with Filr 1.0.1 was that I had to enable scheduled synchronization for each and every user's "My Files" folder. I had to do this so that each user's ENTIRE "My Files" folder would fully synchronize with their Windows client. If I did not do this, then top level folders in their "My Files" folder would synchronize, but there would be no subfolders inside them; unless they would first access the subfolders in the web or mobile app. I asked on this forum a few months ago if there was a way to set scheduled synchronization for all of my user's "My Folders" at once. No one answered, so I took that to mean no. Anyways, before I upgrade to Novell Filr 1.1, I would like to ask the following question:
1.) Does Filr 1.1 provide "Just-in-Time" functionality to the Windows client that is similar to how the web client and mobile client work? If it does, I don't believe that I would have to set scheduled synchronizations as described above. A practical example of how this would be useful to us is, if a user created a new file on our file server near the end of the work day, by just saving it to their h: drive instead of going through the Filr client which is the way they are accustomed to doing that, and then 30 minutes later at home wanted to continue to work on it, they could do that instead of having to wait for the next scheduled synchronization to occur before they could see it.
    Thank you.

Yes, this has been resolved in Filr 1.1. In the properties of a Net
Folder Server there's a new setting, "Allow the desktop app to trigger
    initial home folder sync."

  • Filr 1.1 android client error

I have a fresh filr 1.1 install (had to rebuild after failed 1.0.1 upgrade) small deployment. I am using a self-signed certificate and I cannot connect using android filr app. When I try to connect it first asks me if I want to accept the certificate (confirm or cancel) then it says "unable to connect. check URL and try again." I have tested with android 4.4 and 4.2 using filr app 1.1.0.888
I can connect with ipad on IOS8. Has anyone see similar behavior?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

Yes I have. Recently too on a small deployment.
It would appear that this issue is related to applying the POODLE patch. Now if you haven't done that then there is obviously something else amiss. I opened an SR with Novell on this very issue. I was able to connect on my smartphone (android) as I always had been but on new devices (android also) I was getting this exact error. Novell tested their end with a dummy account I set up and they were able to connect using IOS but not android.
They're looking into it. I'd suggest opening an SR with them if you haven't already. I'm in the process of rebuilding as luckily I wasn't gone live.

Fresh Upgrade to Filr 1.1 large deployment, no clusters and only one of each VA. Did not yet upgrade SQL VA. VMware ESXi 5
    Hello,
I get the following message when I try to get a file link with the new desktop client in Windows 7: "You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this action."
I get this error when I try it from our Filr site: "You do not have right to share your selection."
I even gave all internal users all the sharing rights. I did all the prescribed post update tasks, LDAP, re-index etc. Other sharing methods work fine.
    Any ideas?

Thanks a million! I don't know how I missed doing that, I used the documentation for the upgrade, it was also 11:30 at night and 2 am the next day. I now set all existing users to be able to "share link."
New users will automatically be able to share a link if it's set in system => share settings=> "group name"=> share using file link.
Web UI link creation works fine. I haven't tried the desktop client, sitting in a training session right now.

  • IPrint Appliance 1.1 detailed upgrade instructions

So I've read through what documentation I found but I must have missed the section with details upgrade instructions from 1.0.1 to 1.1. If I did could someone point me to them. If I didn't is anyone willing to take a crack at creating some. Mobile printing is just starting to catch on here and I want the new features but I don't want downtime.
Any help is appreciated, even if it's just hey bone head read it here. Thanks.
Or is it exactly the same as 1.0.1?

That question sounds really novice to me. What I mean to say is I'm confused on the disk portion more specifically. On Filr you have to create separate disks to store information with Mobile iPrint I don't remember doing that. My VM only shows one 40GB disk attached to it. The video simply shows selecting use hard disk and continuing on. It also says on the warning message that says don't store data on the system disk (Which apparently, I am doing on the appliance already) the video says to just continue anyway.
Then it shows importing the configuration into it.
So once I've done that since I have all the IP and username info, etc. How do I add another hard disk to store data. I was pretty certain I set up the appliance as per documentation but obviously if I was supposed to add another virtual disk, I did something wrong.
