Filter images by categories

Is there a way to filter a set of images by clicking a text/image?
For example, my portfolio page has two different set of photos, portraits and landscape, and I would like to add an option for the user to filter them accordingly within the page.
By filter I meant automatic re-arangement the photos and removing unrelated ones.

Not possible within Muse using any built-in functionality. You would need to add the portrait images to one widget and the landscape images to a second widget. Then you can probably place those two widgets inside two different states of a composition widget or tabbed panel... giving direct access to view All Landscape or All Portrait images.

  • How to add a photo filter image adjustment layer?

In this tutorial at the last step it says to add a photo filter image adjustment layer on the image to give it a warm finish, I can't see any adjustment palette as shown in image.  I use a CS3 Extended.

    Wow, again I stand corrected.
I have a perceptual "blind spot" when it comes to finding textual entries in lists.  It's a "hidden in plain sight" kind of quirk that I normally work around either by being diligent or finding another way (e.g., pressing the button I highlighted above).  I'm sure magicians and people who design camouflage would understand it.
I actually looked in both Photoshop CS5 and CS3 and didn't perceive that entry before I wrote my post above.  I probably looked right at it but didn't sense it was there.  I was even thinking of writing up a bug report.  Now, of course, since you've pointed it out, I go back and look again in my copies of Photoshop and I do see it.  It's a bit of a scary realization, as I have to wonder what else in life I've missed because of this.  I'm reminded mildly of the scene in the old film "The Andromeda Strain" where the lab worker sees a flashing red "NO GROWTH" indicator but doesn't take action on it because of an epileptic block.
Thanks again for setting me straight MTSTUNER.  I continue to learn a lot from you.

  • Filter Panel - Add Categories

I use the Filter Panel extensively when editing images in ACR.  Does anyone know how to add categories from the EXIF data to the Filter Panel?  I want to select images where the flash hasn't fired so I can adjust them separately to those where the flash has fired.  Obviously there is a significant White Balance disparity between the two.  "Select Filter Categories" is greyed out when I right-click on the Panel.  Can't for the life of me find anything that helps with this.
    Thx

Yes, well if Adobe want to have an item in their menu that says "Select Filter Categories" then maybe clicking on that should let you choose from the EXIF data at least.
As said, that can be quit a long list and also possible scrolling needed, but you can add your idea as a feature request, the link for this is present at the main Bridge Forum Page. The more that wish for it the higher chance it eventually will be realized.
Given they price-gouge their Australian customers by charging us more than they charge US customers, they are not on my list of good corporate citizens.
You can't simple compare prizes between different countries, this has also to do with the amount of potential customers, promotion budget etc etc. and often VAT and other taxes, US normally does not include VAT in advertising.
But I agree, somehow other people seem to have it better then ourselves...

  • Problem with one row filter - images are messed up

I am trying to use Theme 15 and have found that the one row filter is messed up. Some of the image components are repeated over and over creating a very large filter region.
Look here to see what I mean.
I have tried to edit the template, but that didn't work.
    Thanks, Tony

Well I put an example up on apex.oracle.com and found that the problem wasn't there.
I had modified my page template to include a second stylesheet. When I removed the reference to the second style sheet the filter row returned to normal. Odd.
I guess I need to dig into why this is the case now, but at least I know where to look.
    Thanks, Tony
Edit: the problem was that my second stylesheet had "spacer" defined in it which was over-ridding the properties of the apex-finder class.
    .spacer
    {height: 350px;
    background-color: #F2F2f0;
    color: #CC6600;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 85%;
    vertical-align: middle;
    padding: 15px 15px;
}Removing this from my second stylesheet solved the problem

  • Filter image files in finder against txt/xls file

I'm looking for a solution to the following scenario:
I have a folder that contains over 15,000 images (jpgs).
I receive a request from a customer for 200 of those images. (This list exists in txt/xls format only.)
Is there a way to filter the images and extract (in a new folder) only the 200 out of 15,000 image files that my customer needs without manually searching for them one at a time?
The list of items requested will change with every customer, so I'll need it to be flexible whenever I receive a new list of items requested. I'm not sure if this is something that can be done with Automator or AppleScript.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!!

well, ok, here's a basic script that you'll need to adjust to your needs. Note that it expects a text file with one file name per line.
set imagePolderPath to "~/Main Image Folder"
    set destinationFolderPath to "~/Destination Folder"
-- choose the text file with the list of names
set listFile to POSIX path of (choose file)
-- the following assumes the list file is a text file with one image name per line
set dataList to paragraphs of (read listFile as «class utf8»)
    tell application "System Events"
              repeat with thisFileName in dataList
-- I've used 'begins with' since I don't know whether you'll get these file names with or without extensions. This could in aberrant cases result in unwanted files being included.
move (files of folder imagePolderPath whose name begins with thisFileName) to destinationFolderPath
              end repeat
    end tell
the as «class utf8» bit is there in case you have non-English file names (applescript will misread uft8 characters).
Note that if your only goal is to create a zip file, that can be done straight from the script without moving files.

  • Oil paint filter -- image doesn't show up

I'm running CS6 on Windows7, Intel HD Graphics P4000 with driver updated.  I have used the oil paint filter successfully in the past.  Now when I try to use it, the filter window comes up, and it notes that the image I want to work on is at 25% size, but it remains blank -- the image itself never shows.  Any ideas?

I have the exact same problem.  Although, it has never worked for me -- just a grey screen where I expect the photo to be.
I did update the graphics driver for my Dell Inspiron 7520.  It didn't change anything.
    I also updated CS6 - no difference.
In other forums it was suggested the I go to Preferences; Performance; Advanced Setteings and check the "Open CL" box.  But it is greyed out and I cannot check it.
Anyone out there know how to fix this??

  • Filter images in individual folders by file type

Bridge 2.1 has this feature and I find it extremely fast and speeds up my workflow when I want to view and select only images of a certain file type in an individual folder.
I know you can sort images by file type in Lightroom 1.1 in an individual folder but I find that filtering by file type is much faster with less scrolling.

Thanks very much for your reply.
You have been a great help and your suggestion, command clicking on the file type worked just fine to view only one file type in a folder.
I couldn't find any documentation to command click on the keyword to limit its search to the selected folder. Not in the Adobe help documentaion or Scott Kelby's book. I searched after your reply to my post.
To answer your last comment. Bridge, in the filter pane, automatically gives you a list of file types and the number of files of each type of the selected folder from the files metadata. You make a checkmark to the left of the file type to view only that file type. I'm sure you already know this.
Now that I know that I need command click on the file type, I can do the same thing in
Lightroom, that I can in Bridge. Just a different way to get the same result.
    Thanks again,Ian

  • Filter images by their camera calibration?

I have started to create my own camera calibration profile.
Now I would like to apply it to all images that have the profile set to Adobe Standard but not to those where I have already changed the camera profile.
For this I need to filter all images that have Adobe Standard as their profile.
Is there a way to do this in Lightroom?
    Best regards, Ruedi

The Any Filter plugin lets you search by Camera Profile.

  • Mechanism to filter Image dynamically

Hi Friends, I am doing my final year project using J2ME which includes showing the city (Mumbai) roads through the mobile interface, as in a user/client can request for a road map for his desired source to destination.
The only thing i wish to know or rather have a opnion from you gurus is that which would be the best and the fastest technology I should use on the server side where the actuall request will be processed. Also can somebody please suggest me any algorithm or even a mechanism to filter the required image i.e the cells/blocks from the image(if we divide the entire city's map into cells/blocks) which contain the route the user has requested for.
It will be a great help if I get any solution to my image problem...because I think that the current technique which we are using in the project for giving the final image(i.e the image containing the route) is not the best feasible solution cos it involves a bit of hardcoding in the DB which .....alters the scalability of our entire application. So eagerly, anxiosuly, desperately seeking for some other solution.
Eagerly waiting for comments and replies also enhancement ideas if any. :) .

Can you please be more specific about what you want to do dynamically.  Do you just want to dynamically control which image appears in an image UI element (which can be done by data binding a context attribute to the image Source property) or do you want a dynamic number of images (which can be done with a row repeater or multipane UI element and inner Image UI elements).

  • Is it possible to filter images using multiple keywords at once in Bridge CC?

Say I want to find only images that contain both the keywords 'female' and 'hat' but not see ones that only contain one of the words, is that possible?

It's a shame that this in not possible.
To me keywords are useless if this is not possible.
The only way you can do that is using the search function and that is a really bad workflow - too slow and not flexible at all.
This is a really needed function.
Does someone know a programm that can do that?

  • Issue w/ Categories Filter, "@Action"

I utilize David Allen's GTD system for time management.  For those who are unfamiliar, it consists of arranging tasks into cateories or "buckets" to create ordered lists.  My categories for the purposes of this application are as follows; @Action, @Calls, @Deferred, @Errands, @Home, @Personal, and @Waiting For (the "@" symbol causes the string to be placed at the top of the categories list).
For some reason, when I filter by @Action, all my tasks show up, no matter the category association.  For example when the @Action filter is applied, all my @Calls, @Deferred, @Errands, etc. show up in the list. Every other filter in my categories list works flawlessly.  WTF?
I checked through each and every task to make sure that only the applicable category was checked (1 per task) and everything looks fine. I tried resetting my device without any luck.  I checked through the task mappings in the sync configuration and everything looked fine.  I then tried deleting the @Action category from Outlook and re-syncing the device - no good.  I added the @Action category back into the master categories list - nada. I made sure everything was correct in Outlook and overwrote the device data with outlook data - nothing.

    hello,
for my comprehension, are you talking about using GTD's ideas to the regular Tasks application?
try naming your category @Actions or @Action1 and see if it's better. Maybe the @Action is a technical keyword.

  • Can you filter/search images before importing them?

Is there a way to filter images before importing them in Lightroom?
    Scenario
I work with an extensive image collection stored on a server. The images contain a full set of metadata, including keywords and more. When I work on a specific project, I import the images into a Lightroom collection. That way I can easily review, rate and add additional keywords to those best-of images.
The challenge is that the images I want to add are from numerous folders. Plus, I often only want to add some images from those folders (not the entire folder). This collection process can be very time consuming -- manually locating the images and checking/unchecking the ones I want and repeating the process for the different folders the images reside in.
The process could be greatly simplified (and a lot faster) if I could filter/search for images that contain key words or other metadata to find the full set of images I want to import.
The key is that I’m not using a workflow to simply import all images from a memory card or download folder. I’m working from a large collection of existing images and want to import a subset of those images.
    Thanks in advance.

No, you cannot filter or search images before importing them.
But immediatley after import the images are automatically displayed in <Previous Import>.
They will be displayed there until you import another set of images.
While displayed in <Previous Import> they can be searched and filtered.

  • An update rule question - Filter out categories within an update rule

    Hi All,
I am trying to filter out some categories within the update rule and I appreciate any help with points.
    Here is the scenario:
My category field is Z_CAT and I want to delete all the categories except 'A' 'B' and 'C'.
I tried couple routines but non of them worked fine so far.
    Regards,
    Mike

    HI Mike,
One is that is suggested by my friends
Instead of a Hardcore filter based on your requirement In the DTP you can filter the data .
In the DTP ,Se;ect that object in the Filter and select the Criteria as Not Equal to A B and C and then Extract the data.
The advantage is that even if u want to filter or add one category say "D" the it is posiible at the DTP level whereas at the Routnie level u have to make changes and collect them i a request and  then u have to transport it.
So decide based on ur requirement.

  • How to change the blog posts view when navigating through categories?

Hello, currently I've been struggling for a while with the following problem:
In my SharePoint blog site I have the following default view of posts:
    http://s16.postimg.org/yvmu0j51x/Default_site.jpg
When I click on a category, I get the following view of posts:
    http://s29.postimg.org/58lm8p993/Category_site.jpg
Is there any possibility to get the same way of showing post as how it looks on the default site? So with Image, with body etc. But then only filtered based on category.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Danny

    Hi Danny,
    No, my result is like:
You can do as the followings:
    Edit the page
Insert the Categories list into the page
Insert the Posts list into the page
Edit the Posts web part, and switch the current view to Summary view, click OK
Click Connections->Get Filter Values from->Categories, like the screenshot below:
Provide Field Name:Title, Consumer Field Name: Category
    Click Finish
Then you can filter posts based on a category by clicking Select in the first screenshot.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Wendy
