Filter in User point of view
Hi ,
I have set a filter Custom ( Just two values) for Version which is set as user point of view .
I can see only two values in the FR studio for that report .
But i have following issues.
1) When other users/developers login with there credentials the custom filter is not getting applied . That is the other developer can see all the values.
2) When i run the report in workspace the custom filter does not get set . It shows all the values even though in the design the Custom filter is set.
please let me know how i can resolve the above issue and is critical for me .
Thanks and Regards
Vijaya
I know what you are referring to. What you did was create a filter only for your user id and not for the report. That option in the FR Studio is very misleading, it makes it appear as if the report was limited to those 2 members. It is only for the user id of the person developing the report when you preview the report.
What you can do is put Version in the Grid POV. There you can limit the members users will see when they run the report. Unfortunately, it's not very pretty and a bit confusing for users.

Preview User Point of View in workspace
Hi All,
Hope you are all doing great.
the Financial Report Preview user point of view in the workspace split into two where the buttons window displaying in large
How to make the User point of view preview like this below?

VTHi VT,
Not always true… part of the configuration is to add the url in the trusted sites. If one url is in the trusted site and the other is not then it may be the issue.

Reports User Point of View Question
I created a report that has two grids and the databases are both essbase cubes and have the same dimension names. I am working with Hyperion Reports 9.3. I wanted to link the User Point of View, so that all the user had to do was click on:
1. Period (ie-Apr)
2. Company Code
3. FiscalYear (ie-FY10)
What the Preview User Point of View shows is a drop-down box at the top that has the user select each database connection and change the POV for these dimensions. I'd like to not do that. I'd like the User POV to only have to be selected once.
Note: At a previous job, I am pretty sure I was able to do this without having to change the User POV for each db connection. I know there were two connections but didn't have to change the POV twice. I will provide additional details if needed.
Thanks, TI'm not sure if that will work for me. I already have the 2nd grid hidden from view and there isn't an option to "pull" the POV from another grid that I can see. I even tried merge equivalent prompts in the User Preferences in Workspace but I think that is for prompts only, not user POV.

Hi ,
Can we give a Descriptive lable for a User point of View ?
Suppose the name of dimesnion is Version which i have set it as user point of view . Then can i give lable / name to the same someting like " Enter Version ..." like we do for prompts.
Thanks & Regards
VijayaHi Vijaya,
As far as I know, it is not possible. But if hyperion does do some change in their work space code, then it might be possible.
It is not possible from your side.

I have noted an odd behavior in Financial Reporting for some but not all users. When users are prompted for the point of view selection, for the Entity dimension all of the members are listed and not shown hierarchically. This is true of only Entity and only for some users. All other dimensions behave normally and only a few users have experienced this. Users seeing this behavior include interactive users and planners. Has anyone run into this, know what causes it, how to fix it?
(We are running EPM 11.1.1.2)
Thanks.Hi,
It seems that there is problem in POV setting. Affected users need to set the POV of reports again.
In this issue it might be possible that in users POV specific entity members are present, instead of that users have to select total entity hierarchy in users POV setting.
Hope this will help...! -

From Google Maps user point of view
Hi,
I come from Android and Google 's services.
I'm really impressed by Windows Phone 8 (and really happy too for my migration).
I have bought a Nokia Lumia 620.
One of more important services in Nokia is Nokia HERE Maps, for sure. Because it can replace a central Google service as Google Maps.
By the way some things are missing and I wonder if they are going to be in Nokia Maps or I will never be a 100% satisfied user and will have to deal with it.
My suggestions are:
1. A lot of POI are missing from maps. In the future can a single user add or correct POI simply from his smartphone?
Communities work well usually. It could be also that every place has a number for its actions, so you can trust for a POI with an higher number of interactions despite of a POI with only one random action.
2. Can I save POI to create a personal map and then view it as a layer on the main map?
For example "restaurants in Milan".
3. Nokia Maps still lack of calendar and contacts integration but, probably, it's more on Microsoft.
Thanks! And a "save to contacts" function too.

From the End User Point of view
Hi,
Suppose i have scenario like file to idoc, the file should run every day night, when any errors occur at idoc side how can end user know whether it is successfully updated at R/3 side or not. In this scenario exactly what is role of end user what will he do.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Prem.SHi Prem,
In this case the end user/basis team/ ie basically who ever is responsible for monitoring has to go to transaction WE02/WE05 to monitor if any error has occured in posting the application document.
if any error is there in WE02 then he can go to transaction BD87 and repost the idocs.
Cheers,
Sumit

User point of view in POV on FR
hi,
I have a report in whichi have selected version dimension in POV and when i run the report via workspace it prompts me to select version dimension member but there is another admin trying to run the same report and
when he tries to select the version member instead he is prompted to select the memeber from year dimension. The first dialogue box that pops up when we run workspace says select memeber for version dimension but when he tries
to browse for the other memeber in the other dialogue box that opens and shows members from year dimension.
I am on planning 9.2 please help its driving me crazy
Edited by: user4958421 on Jul 23, 2009 12:04 PMSounds like a corrupt POV to me. There is a utility in the Hyperion\BIPlus\bin folder called DeletePov.cmd that will clean this up. Go to a command prompt and the change directory to the Hyperion\BIPlus\bin folder and do DeletePov /? for details. Once deleted, get him to try again.
Hope this helps.

POINT OF VIEWS Related to GRID ,USER,BOOK
HI,
i am new for Reporting side, could you please give some clarity on below point of views.
User POV,
GRID POV
BOOK POV
And how we define all point of views.
Appreciating your Help
Thanks
RaviHi Ravi
User POV allows user to select any member from a dimension at run time (provided they have security access to see it).
Grid POV allows you to restrict the user POV for a particular grid within the report (remember you can have multiple grids in a report) to a single member without having to define it in the rows / columns of the grid itself, e.g. you may always want a grid to look at 'Total Customers' rather than make the user select it on their own POV
Book POV allows you to set the POV for a dimension where it has not previously been defined in the individual reports that make up the book, e.g. if you are producing monthly report packs all of your reports might have 'Period' on the POV, normally when users run the reports they can select the period but for the book you can define this to apply to all reports where 'Period' is on the POV.
Batch POV, that you do not mention, is also available and is similar to Book POV but where you might run multiple books as part of a batch if there are any POV selections not set at either report or book level then you can set them at batch level. Again a similar example might be 'Period' where you run a batch of reports for the 'current_month' using a substitution variable.
Hope this helps

OIF-What's the diff. from user's point of view of SP/IdP initiated SSO
I'm using OIF for federated single sign on. I got both the SP and IdP initiated SSO works. When I provide both URL to customer, how should I suggest which one to use? from end user's point of view, both of them works in the similar work flow: type(click) URL -> redirect to IdP's login page -> login -> return back to application. only diff. seems the URL. most of user even did not notice the diffrence between 2 URLs.
Could some give some suggestion when and which one is preferred.
ThanksProbabaly. however, in our case, the application url, e.g. http://appurl is used for non-federate sign on. so that the applicaiton can be run independent of IdP, e.g. IdP down.
To allow federate sign on, we use one of following (as documented in OIF admin guide):
SP initiated:
http://SP host:port/ fed/sp/initiatesso?providerid=<SP provider Id>& returnurl=<http://appurl>
IdP initiated:
http://IdP host:port/fed/idp/initiatesso?providerid =<IdP provider Id>& returnurl=<http://appurl>
So, you can see these does not support bookmark of federate sso since they would return back to http://appurl after federate sign on.
Any suggestion? we couldn't tell good diffrence about above urls to our customer. is there anyway to allow us enable bookmark the federated sso?
Thanks -
I'm trying to use the point of view option to limit what shows for the Page choices for a particular member. It works beautifully when I set one up for the Administrator role, but when I try to duplicate this for my end users, the POV doesn't "take". For example, I have a director, and I want her to be able to just see her cost centers in the entity dimension when she comes into her monthly report. If I try to set up such a filter for myself (as Administrator) it works. But when I try it for her, it doesn't. What's the difference?
It would be a nice feature for Hyperion to add if POV could be transferable to other users. We hear all the time from our finance users that they create POV for themselves and would like to be able to transfer it to the business users they support.
